10 Scary Shark Sightings That Might Just Be Megalodon!
No other shark has ever captured our collective imaginations, and with good reason. Many believe that
they were the most formidable predators to have ever swim the world’s oceans. And while conventional
knowledge says they’ve gone extinct, many still believe that they are still alive, hiding underneath the
vast oceans, only sporadically being seen.

Number 10. The Google Map Sighting
Some people make Google Maps surfing a hobby, which is kind of weird but thanks to them, we have a
lot of weird things to look at on the internet. Some are easily explainable, like glitches on the photo or
simple misidentification of objects, like in a fairly recent viral photo, which many believed to be proof of
the Kraken, turned out to be just a rock. But there are some cases that can’t simply be explained by
    conventional thinking.

This reportedly shows a Google Map image in the Bahamas. In it you can clearly show the silhouette of
an unusually large fish. We know it’s large because these images are taken by satellites orbiting the
earth, so animal that would have registered on the image must massive.
Could it be a whale shark? Of course, it could be, but if you look closely, there’s something quite a bit off
with the shape of the animal for it to be a whale shark. Of course, it is a bit premature to declare this to
be a megalodon, but if you come up with other possibilities, I’m all ears.
Of course there’s the “doctored photo” explanation, which is also highly likely. But, in the remotest of
chances that this google map image wasn’t faked, is it still safe to swim in the Bahamas?

Number 9. The Coast Guard Footage

Aside from sailors, who obviously spend most of their lives at sea, coastguards are the most likely
people to spot a meg and finally confirm that they still roam the world’s waters. On their rescue
helicopters, they would have the perfect vantage point to spot anything lurking below the waves. And in
this very controversial footage, they might have accidentally found the presumed extinct giant shark.
The Brazilian coast guard caught sight of the monstrous fish while attempting a sea rescue. At first, the
coast guard officers didn’t notice the giant silhouette swimming past them beneath the waves, but after
re-watching the footage, they couldn’t believe their eyes. If the size of the shadow is any indication, the
animal was upwards of 60 feet long.

Of course it could have been just another large fish, primarily the whale shark, but there’s one glaring
flaw in that assumption; whale sharks can’t be found anywhere in Brazil. Furthermore, the footage has
been analyzed by many experts, and they found the footage to be completely unaltered. With this, the
video has been touted as the best evidence for the continued existence of the megalodon yet.

Number 8. The Zane Grey Account
Pearl Zane Grey was an American author and dentist best known for his adventure novels and stories
associated with the Western genre in literature and the arts. His bestselling book by far is called Riders
    of the Purple Sage.
Now, I know what you are thinking; what does an award winning novelist with a penchant for writing
westerns have anything to do with megalodons. Well, he believes he actually saw one, or rather a shark
that’s simply too big to be, and I quote “a harmless white shark”.
In the novel Megalodon: Fact or Fiction?, Rick Emmer says that Grey claimed to have seen "one of the
man-eating monsters of the South Pacific," a shark much longer than his 30-40-foot boat. Apparently,
the shark was "yellow and green ... with a square head, immense pectoral fins and a few white spots."
Now, Grey didn’t actually say that he thought that the animal he saw was the might meg. It’s too big to
be a great white, and the color certainly rules out whale sharks, so what other shark out there fits the
    description?

    Number 7. An Unverified Attack

Let me just say that this isn’t about an actual sighting, but rather the possible outcome of a close
encounter with a megalodon. A few years ago, a photo made rounds on the internet showing a dead
beached whale. While seeing a beached whale is sad, it’s not really unheard of, but there’s something
that sets this apart from the rest. The whale’s entire tail is missing, and it looks like it’s been bitten off by
    something large.

10 Sightings of the Megalodon That May Prove It Exists
No other prehistoric animals has divided opinions more than the megalodon, mostly about the question
whether it still exists or not. While a lot of experts definitely say that these monsters are long gone,
there are still some who fervently believe that they still roam the earth’s waters. Many sightings of the
mighty fish have been reported through the decades, some of which are so compelling that it’s really
hard not to believe that these monsters died out millions of years ago. The number one sighting is
particularly curious, so stay tuned for that. Here are 10 Sightings of the Megalodon That May Prove It
    Exists.

    Number 10. An Unverified Attack
Let’s start things off not with an actual sighting, but with the possible outcome of a close encounter with
a megalodon. A few years ago, a photo surfaced on the internet showing a beached whale. While seeing
abeached whale is already strange in itself, there’s something that sets this event apart from the rest.
The whale’s entire tail is missing, and it looks like it’s been bitten off by something large.
The most compelling thing about the photo is that you can clearly see bite marks around where the tail
should have been. Now, this is a 70 foot humpback whale, one of the largest animals in the oceans, who
could have done such a thing?
While it is true that Orcas or killer whales have a habit of hunting and feeding on whales, it isn’t known
whether they can take on a whale of this size. Plus, experts believe that the tail was shorn off in one
bite. The only animal with the size and strength to possibly do this is, you’ve guessed it, the mighty
    megalodon.

    Number 9. Unusually Young Teeth
Still yet another sighting, I promise we will get into those in a bit, but not something less compelling.
This story has something to do with the British ship HMS Challenger, a former small warship that was
converted into the first dedicated oceanographic ship with its own laboratories, microscopes and other
scientific equipment onboard. Its job was to explore the oceans and discover new animals that have
never been previously discovered, mostly by dredging the bottom of the ocean and see what they can
    drag up.
While dredging a seabed near Tahiti in 1875, pulled up a pair of Megalodon teeth. Over the years, dating
of the teeth has produced mixed results. Some dates fall in the 10,000-15,000-year-old range. That's a
far cry from 1.5 million years ago, when Megalodon supposedly went extinct. If the dating is accurate,
megalodons have survived to a far later time than previously thought. And if they made it to as late as
10,000 years ago, who’s to say they aren’t roaming the oceans today?

Number 8. The Google Map Sighting

Ever since Google Maps was launched, a lot of people have been finding strange things on there. Some
are easily explainable, like glitches on the photo or misidentifying certain things or animals to be
something totally different, like in a recent viral photo, which many thought to be proof of the Kraken,
turned out to be just a rock. But there are some cases that, no matter how strange they are, can’t simply
    be explained by conventional thinking.

This image reportedly shows a Google Map image in the Bahamas. In it you can clearly show the
silhouette of an extremely large fish. We know it’s large because these images are taken by satellites
orbiting the earth, so animal that would have registered on the image must be extremely large.
Could it be a whale shark, the only living animal that could even remotely match what’s on the photo?
Yes, it could be, but if you see the photo, there’s something quite a bit off with the shape for it to be a
whale shark. Of course, it is a bit premature to declare this to be a megalodon, but what are the other
    possibilities?
Of course there’s the “doctored photo” explanation, which is also highly likely. But, in the remotest of
chances that the google map image wasn’t faked, is it still safe to swim in the Bahamas?

Number 7. The Cape Town Photo
This piece of evidence caused both a sensation and an uproar dividing mainstream scientists and those
who are keeping an open mind. This very famous photo shows an extremely large fish swimming
alongside German Uboats, reportedly taken just off the coast of Cape Town, South Africa during the
height or World War II in 1942. The photo even shows German sailors looking at the monstrous beast as
    it swims alongside the submarines.

  • 15 Scary Shark Sightings That Might Just Be Megalodon!

    21:05

According to conspiracy theories, the megalodon, a colossal extinct shark, still lives in deep waters. Megalodons were three times larger than the ocean's current apex predator and distant cousin, the great white shark, with a length of 75 feet. The three-million-year-old giant beast, whose name means huge tooth and had 270 teeth in its mouth, was believed to have gone extinct three million years ago due to a decline in the food chain. However, some believe that the megalodon still lurks at the bottom of the deep sea. Could it be in the Mariana Trench? What about the great barrier reef sighting? If you want to find out more or perhaps even see this megashark, stick around as we count down 15 scary shark sightings that just might be megalodon.

    The Indonesian Colossus

Divers made a rare find, taking close-up photos of what is believed to be the world's biggest great white shark. The predator could have easily weighed 2.5 tons and was believed to be 50 years old. The shark was seen by divers and they bravely swam alongside it, taking spectacular photos of the encounter. The great white's size is thought to be due to its age, according to researchers. The divers stood calmly, cautiously, watching the shark.

In this clip, you can see a humongous shark jump out of the water with prey in its mouth. Is this megalodon? Probably not, but it is still a very impressive shark. In this next sequence, you can see even more of the shark’s body and it is very impressive. I just know one thing and what I know is whether it is or is not a megalodon, it is big enough to scare the living daylights out of anyone.

The Google Map Giant Shark Pitcher

The world is a mysterious place; much of it has been explored, and we are still discovering new creatures and habitats every day; however, the ocean has not been explored in its entirety; experts estimate that 95 percent of our ocean remains unexplored, and there's a chance we're missing out on a lot of sea creatures and possibly deep-sea monsters; however, the Megalodon myth has been going around for some time. This picture appears to show an illustration of a massive shark-like beast off the coast, and many people assume it is proof of a Megalodoncaptured in the wild.

When we look at this picture, we can see that the shark is moving quickly because its fins are moving, as if it is trying to avoid being caught, but the island looks familiar. In the Bahamas, this island is known as Cat Island. If this is a real picture, tourists should be terrified of the sea. The image of the ocean-like creature large enough to be a Megaladon has been examined, and it has been determined that the image is fake. The image has been tampered with to make it appear as if Google Maps captured a giant sea creature from the sky, but there is nothing there at all. Better luck next time.

10 reasons the Megalodon shark may still exist

The megalodon shark is known for being the world's largest shark to ever exist. It has been the
stuff of legends for decades, even though it allegedly went extinct over millions of years ago.
Despite that, there have been numerous reported sightings, but are these, fake, or has there
been some sort of a mix up. The megalodon may be extinct, but it could also be hiding deep
within our oceans. On that note let us get into the 10 reasons the Megalodon shark may still
    exist.
    10) Fossil finds
Let’s take a look at the fossils or more specifically the teeth of many of the known fossilized
megalodon that came from shark tooth hill near Bakersfield California. Here people can dig up
huge shark teeth that can range from a couple of inches to over six inches and they fetch a
pretty good price if you find a nice one. Besides being an expensive collector's item megalodon
teeth have been the source of some controversy. Plenty of teeth have been found but there's
one particular toothy discovery that has confounded scientists.  In 1875, two megalodon teeth
were dug up during a deep-sea expedition by the HMS Challenger that dated only 10,000 -
15,000 years old. If the methods used were accurate, this would mean it went extinct much
more recently than previously believed. While some believe this dating must be wrong others
insist that it's accurate. It does not take a great imagination to think the megalodon shark may
have survived the past 10,000 years undetected and undisturbed in the depths of the oceans.
    9) The Sea of Cortez
One of the most famous legends about the megalodon comes from the Sea of Cortez also
known as the Gulf of California. Fishermen in the region have long reported seeing extremely
large sharks that locals refer to as a creature known as the black demon. In July of 2008
fisherman Eric Mack’s boat was struck by a huge shark whose tail rose five feet out of the
water and he claimed its body looked over 60 feet long. This sighting matches with many other
black demon sightings in the area which all describe seeing a giant shark or sea creature over
    60 feet long.
    8) The Mariana trench
Scientists believe that the largest megalodons could have been longer than 60 feet and
weighed as much as 50 tons. The earliest megalodon fossils date back to 20 million years ago
with scientists believing that these monstrous sharks ruled our oceans for at least 13 million
years, but if the megalodon is still out there today where could it be hiding? Lack of any
genuine megalodon sightings might actually be a clue as to where these giant prehistoric
sharks are hiding out. Scientists believe the megalodon loved the warm coastal waters millions
of years ago but evolution could have sent it into much cooler depths of the ocean. The
Mariana trench is the deepest part of the ocean and it's actually filled with strange life forms
such as the giant squid. The trench is about 36201 feet deep and plenty of marine life is
present down there that the megalodon could feed on. But exploring the trench is extremely
difficult and expensive. To get anywhere near the bottom of the trench explorers and

researchers need submarines worth millions of dollars fitted with high-tech equipment. Most
ocean explorers and underwater vehicles are unable to reach depths of more than 7000 feet
leaving half of the trench unexplored. Many parts of the trench have yet to be examined and
who knows the meg might just be calling the trench home.
    7) The Brazilian coastguard
It is true that while we may have never captured a megalodon or seen one in flesh, there are
several videos that have not been tampered with and have no clear explanation, like this one
taken back in 2012. The Brazilian coast guard had some terrible company during a rescue
operation. They even managed to get a video of a giant 60-foot shark swimming just alongside
them. You can clearly see the shadow moving in the water on the right. The footage has been
examined and has been said to be genuine, though no one has been able to accurately
explain what species of giant shark decided to make a haunting appearance. With no better
options many have chosen to believe this is the mysterious megalodon.
    6) Countless sightings
There have been countless claims by people who have seen huge sharks far beyond their
imagination. Sightings of some these incredibly huge sharks have never been properly
explained but we don't really have proof of these sightings either. According to naturalist David
he wrote about a group of fishermen in New Zealand who saw a gigantic shark of almost
    unbelievable proportions in 1918.

It's easy to see why many people consider the Megalodon as the most remarkable sea creature after watching the movie Meg. This could have one of the most potent bite forces in the world but are certainly not the scariest of their kind. What other sea creatures didn't have in size, they augmented with bite force and charisma. Sit tight as we run through the ten terrifying creatures scarier than the Megalodon shark!
    10. Stethacanthus
The Stethancanthus is one animal that gives stern warning to people who think that being huge is a necessity to qualify as a terrific creature. It resembles a typical shark with a pointed face and sharp teeth, but instead of the regular dorsal fin, it has a strange anvil-shaped spike on its head. This animal lived around 360 to 260 million years ago and boasted of unusual physical characteristics. Although they were tenacious predators in their own right, they were prey for larger fish like the Dunkleosteus. This animal resembles similar shark species that would later evolve today.
They were solitary hunters that stuck to small fish, anthropoids, and cephalopods. They were also fast swimmers and hunted prey by chasing and grabbing them from the seabed. Their flat dorsal fins are the most striking feature, plus the tooth-shaped scales. Only the males had this odd fin, meaning that it played a crucial role in mating and courtship displays. Although relatively minor in size, this animal is brutal and can pose some resistance to more giant creatures despite the chances that it could be defeated.
    (3:40-5:00)
    9. Plesiosaurus

Even if we agree that the Megalodon was one of the most dreaded creatures of its time, the Plesiosaurus fits into the same shoe. This animal is a giant reptile measuring about 43 feet long and appearing on several movies and TV shows. The incredible feature of this reptile is its long serpentine necks consisting of almost half of its entire body. Think of the average human neck and what it would look like if it were ten times longer. After imagining the possibility, understand that this animal's neck is ten times that of an average human's own.
Their massive razor-sharp teeth have a 33000 PSI bite force that allows them to hunt other sea creatures while navigating through the ocean in a flying-like motion. Its long neck was used to snatch fish trying to escape its grip. What even makes this animal more terrific is the fact that they can catch their prey easily. Even if you find your way into a boat, the chances are that its long neck would stretch to the boat to snatch you away.

    8. Bobbitt worms
Regular earthworms are so harmless that we love to have them around our farms because they do a perfect job of aerating the soil. Imagine having a 10 feet worm dwelling inconspicuously under the seafloor and ready to hunt. Yea, this is what the Bobbitt worm is known for. These deadly worms lie on the floor of world oceans and open their mouths to trap unlucky prey while the rest of their bodies are safely hidden underground. The only instinct this beast has is hunger which makes them eat and capture anything with their antennas.
They use their super-sharp pharynx to slice their victims in half while dragging them into the ocean ground and settling for a decent meal. It becomes fascinating to learn that this animal tactfully erases any evidence that the prey ever crossed its path. This worm can permanently paralyze human appendages using its bristles that release toxins that cause skin irritation. How they reproduce remains a mystery to researchers, although some plausible theories support their reproduction cycle.

    6. Mosasaurus
Mosasaurus ruled the sea during the Cretaceous period dating over 100 million years ago. This ruthless predator has a striking resemblance with the sea dinosaur, but scientists agree that it was a reptile related to snakes. Although this monster varied in size, an average one reached a whopping 50 feet. This monster uses its vast flippers and flexible body to kill and swallow anything that crosses its path. It is an apex predator meaning that other creatures run for their lives on sighting them. Their double hung Jaws and two rows of teeth help the mouth stretch as wide as possible to accommodate other sea monsters, sharks, and smaller species.

Megalodons are sea monsters believed to have existed over 25 million years ago. While some scientists agree that they're long gone, most skeptics believe they still roam the earth's waters. You wouldn't blame them much because there is compelling evidence that suggests that they haven't moved a morsel. For some reason, they could be hiding, but these ten sightings may prove that the Megalodon still exists. Join the countdown as I begin with number 10…
    10. An Unverified Attack
Most of what we know about the megalodon sightings are based on speculations and not verifiable data. This one in this video isn't an exception. This may not be an actual sighting, but the experience comes close to what we read in books and see in videos. A few years ago, the picture of a beached whale broke the internet. Not only are these kinds of photos rare, but there's also something that makes them stand out. Its entire tail is missing as though another animal bit it off. The most shocking of it all is that you can see sharp marks around the bitten area.
We're not talking about a tiny sea creature that can be a pushover in the sea. This is about a 70-foot humpback whale that is one of the largest animals in the ocean. As far as we're concerned, there's only one possible culprit. Even if killer whales or Orcas are guilty of such endeavors, it is unclear if they can take up a whale of that magnitude. Therefore, the Megalodon may have stealthily done this one.
    (0:42-1:38)
    9. Unusually young teeth
This is yet another sighting that would do a good job convincing you that the Megalodon is somewhere in the depths of the sea. This one has to do with the HMS Challenger, a former small British warship converted into the first dedicated oceanographic ship. It had its microscopes, laboratories, and other scientific equipment onboard. The scientists' duty was to discover new animal species, especially those that live at the bottom of the sea.
While dredging a sea bed in Tahiti in 1875, they found a pair of megalodon teeth. After analysis, they realized it was between 10,000-15,000 years old, contrary to beliefs that this animal went extinct over 1.5 million years ago. If this discovery is anything to go by, it means that this animal has lived far longer than scientists thought. If they existed 10,000 years ago, the chances of roaming around the world's oceans are high. The only challenge is finding and filming them.
    (1:40-2:43)
    8. The Google map sighting
Since its inception, Google maps have captured the most bizarre locations ever. It helps us find strange stuff we never believe exists. One time, it showed a picture of something that supposedly looked like a Kraken. While people were amazed at the possibilities of this animal's existence, they later realized that the image was a rock. There are other cases where there's a discovery on the map, and regardless of how scientists try to explain it, it is far beyond them.
This footage was captured somewhere in the Bahamas. You can see the silhouette of a giant fish. How are we confident that the animal is colossal? We know because the image was taken by satellites orbiting the earth. It takes only a large animal to feature on this footage. Could it be a whale shark? If no, what are the possibilities of it being any other animal? Well, if you look closely, you'd realize that the image is far from the description of a whale shark. It may be premature to declare it as a megalodon, but the chances that this is the case are high.
    (2:49-3:35)
    7. David Stead and the giant fish
Australian naturalist David Stead shared an unusual experience in his book Sharks and Rays of the Australian seas. Many people believe the story describes an encounter the author had with a shark. He spoke with several crayfish fishermen who were so scared of a shark they encountered in Broughton islands that they refused to return there for many days. They claimed to have seen an animal of an unbelievable magnitude.

    Megalodon Caught On Camera And
    Spotted In Real Life

Megalodon has always been known as the scariest and most terrifying animal in the sea. The sea
monster is huge and has jaws that could decimate a ship. The Meg, as it is often called, is the stuff that
makes up nightmares. In the ancient days, stories of a wild large whale that roamed the open waters
were told by old sailors to young ones. We now know that this creature of the myths was probably the
    Meg.
Thankfully, the Meg is extinct today. Well, that's what we think at least. Recent sightings tell us that this
may not be true. Today, we'll be going through ten sightings of the Meg that may prove that it's still very
    much alive!

#10 Evidence Of A Baby Megalodon
Megs are pretty huge animals, and even baby Megs can reach impossible lengths of more than twenty
feet. That's longer than the average school bus! This video is one of the pieces of evidence that's usually
put forward when people ask about the existence of the Megalodon. But is it real?
The video shows divers minding their business in a cage, while a huge shark that is over 20 feet long
swam around them. Is this huge shark a Megalodon?
First off, we need to know that normal sharks rarely grow as huge as this, so this is by no means a
regular video. The video was published by Mauricio Hoyes, and even though he didn't call the shark a
Megalodon, he called it the biggest shark he'd ever seen.
Now, we know that even though this shark is pretty big, it couldn't possibly be an adult Megalodon
because they generally reach lengths of about 60 feet. So maybe it's just a baby Meg, not an adult one.
What do you think? Do you think is a baby Meg?

    #9 The Meg In Japan
This video is peculiar because it's extremely realistic. In fact, it's probably one of the most realistic Meg
videos we have ever seen. But is it real? Let's find out.

First off, the video appears to have been taken by an underwater webcam. So it looks pretty eerie. It
was taken in Asia, and it's the only Meg sighting that in the region.
But why would an underwater cam be here in any case? Our best guess is that the cam was a part of a
military installation like a submarine or an aircraft carrier. That's why the pictures from the webcam are
    so clear.
So what did the camera capture? This.
This looks like a big shark— a shark so big that it could be the famed Megalodon of the myths. The
video clearly shows a huge animal that may be dead or just resting in the ocean. It's easy to say that this
video is faked, by extensive tests have shown that it is actually real.
The problem now is that we don't know which animal is lying on the ground. It looks huge for sure, but
we don't have evidence that it's a Meg. We just know that it looks larger than anything we've ever seen.

#8 The Meg On The Coast Of Brazil
The events you're about to see on this deeply shocking video happened on November 20th, 2012. It
started off as a pretty normal day on the coast until the Brazilian coastguard got a call. There was a
swimmer drowning in the sea, and they had to save him. It sounded like a pretty routine rescue mission,
and it may have just been just that.
The Coastguard got into their helicopters and started looking for the drowning swimmer. The plan was
simple— find him, set a ladder down, and rescue him. Pretty, standard, right?
Now, the coastguard often attaches cameras to their helicopters. This is done for record-keeping and
training purposes. As they approached the rescue spot, the camera caught something extremely
disturbing. Just near where the swimmer was swimming for help, there appeared to be a huge shadow
passing beneath the waves. It was certainly not a white whale as the shadow was bigger than that, and
it couldn't have been an orca either.
There's only one explanation. It was Megalodon. Look at the video again and tell us what you think. Do
you think the shadow beneath the waves was a Megalodon or not?

#7 The Megalodon Vs. The Kayak
Kayaks is pretty small boats that can be overturned by a large enough wave. That's why it's not advisable
to use one in parts of the sea where the waves could get too overwhelming. However, that's one advice
that this man didn't take. He took his Kayak, went off into the ocean, and got the shock of his life.

Megalodon meaning “Big tooth” is a shark that terrorized oceans and seas of the earth
just over 25 million years ago. But some people believe that it still exists. Its existence
might be explained by these 10 sightings. So, let’s get into it.
    Number 10.) The megalodon documentary
In 2018, Discovery Channel kicked off Shark Week with a two-hour documentary called
"Megalodon: The Monster Shark Lives," about the rediscovery of a giant prehistoric
predator thought to have been extinct for more than 25 million years. despite a brief
disclaimer that it was fiction, many people thought the documentary was real.
Megalodons did exist once, but there’s no evidence they’ve reappeared. Scientists were
furious at the network, which is presumed to be educational, for confusing viewers. The
scientists in the documentary were all actors, and the photos that supposedly showed
megalodon were clearly doctored. Confirming the lie was a too-fast-to-read disclaimer
that ran across the screen in the program's final seconds. Yet it was a rating hit, the
most popular program in Shark Week history with nearly 5 million viewers. The next
year, the network aired “Megalodon: The New Evidence,” of which it apparently had
    none.
    12:15 – 13:15
    Number 9.) the baby megalodon

A common fact about the megalodon shark is that they had babies. It didn't lay eggs; it
gave birth to it's young like it was a mammal. A Megalodon pup was 7-10 feet long and
weighed up to 500 pounds, which is almost the size of the great white shark that is one
of the biggest in the ocean. The pup was able to hunt after birth, so it can take care of
itself after it is born. They grew very quickly and at that time the pup's favorite food was
dugong or in other words sea cows. A similar shark was found on the coast of Australia.
This was near a beach and actual people were there. The shark was spotted by a
helicopter and the person inside it advised people not to go into the water. When the
footage was sent to experts, they were quick to assume that this shark was about 22
feet long and could have been a baby megalodon. Megalodon thrived in hot waters and
if megalodon ever existed, it would in the hot waters of Australia. If the baby is there, the
parents must also be close by because sharks don’t let their children roam around alone
in fear of them getting attacked. Who would in their right mind attack a shark?
    Number 8.) The megamouth
With its blunt head which is even larger than its abdomen, the megamouth is one of the
most unique species of shark to roam the depths of the ocean. Some people believe
that megamouth is a proof that megalodon still exists. On the occasion that one of these
creatures is caught on camera scientists and on-lookers, fascinated by the megamouths
physical features and eager to see the shark up-close, automatically post the video of
the shark on the internet, resulting in headlines dotted with words like “terrifying” and
“rare.” Yet we know very little about the shark’s behavior or how its unique physical
traits operate. Many believe that it is related to the megalodon as the specie is so rare
and barely found. The shark is also so big around 15 feet that it gives away the

megalodon vibes. But the studies of megalodon suggest that the shark preferred
shallow waters so had the megalodon still existed, it would had been detected. The
creature was dubbed the ‘megamouth’ shark due to its gaping mouth and huge jaw and
the name has stuck ever since.
    9:30 – 10:35
    Number 7.) deep blue
A group of divers near Oahu were monitoring tiger sharks feeding off a decomposed
sperm whale when they encountered a giant shark. Ocean Ramsey, one of the divers
who studies sharks, told The Star-Advertiser that, based on the shark's size and
markings, the shark may be Deep Blue, one of the largest sharks on record. This shark
was so big that experts first did not know what it really was. Many assumed that it was
actually a megalodon because the size of the shark was more than 20 feet. Diver and
photographer Kimberly Jeffries said she was one of two divers first in the water with the
giant shark. According to Jeffries, marine experts familiar with the shark reviewed her
photos and confirmed it was a great white shark. This was the biggest great white shark
ever recorded and people still think that this shark could somehow be related to the
    megalodon.

  • 10 Reasons The Megalodon Could Still Be Alive

    10:32

The megalodon shark is famous for being the world's largest shark to ever exist, and with the release of Shark Week - we thought we'd bring in 10 solid reasons that this bad boy could still be swimming in the deepest part of the ocean!

The megalodon has been the stuff of legends for decades, even though it supposedly went extinct over 1.5 million years ago. Fishermen still claim to have seen giant sharks over 60 feet long that match the description of the mighty megalodon. But are these stories exaggerated, faked, or have these fishermen been seeing whale sharks and great whites and mistaking them for the prehistoric beast?

The megalodon may be extinct, but it might also be hiding deep within our oceans, perhaps even in the Mariana Trench. Over 80% of our oceans are undiscovered, giving the megalodon a lot of places to hide out. In fact, it costs over $30 million for the proper equipment to even explore the trench, and it takes some brave scientists and thrill seekers to give it a try. However, the money might be worth it. In 2012 the Brazilian Coastguard caught a very convincing video of a giant shark passing by them as they completed a rescue operation. Megalodon teeth have also been found that are just over 10,000 years old.. If scientists have been wrong about sea creature extinction before-- like with the coelacanth-- then they could be wrong about the meg too. If anyone were to prove the existence of these prehistoric sharks, they would undoubtedly make millions and become a part of history. From the “Black Demon” in the Sea of Cortez to the terrorizing of fishermen in New Zealand, here are the reasons the megalodon may still be out there.

10 Reasons the Megalodon Shark May Still Exist!
I don’t know why, but many people that the megalodon still exists. Meybe it’s because of evidence like
these, especially number one which to me is the number one arguement regarding the existence of
these sea monsters. Here are 10 reasons why the megalodon may still exist.

    Number 10. Unexplored Waters
The earth’s surface is primarily made up of water, more than 70 percent of it in fact. And do you know
how much of it remains unexplored? 80 percent. Imagine, we’ve been on this earth for thousands of
years yet we are only fully able to map, observe, and explore 20 percent of the world’s oceans.
The reason is mostly because accessibility. All of these unexplored regions of the world’s oceans are
basically inaccessible to us. Funding, technology, or the lack thereof, and someone willing to dedicate
their lives exploring the unknown are all reasons for this inaccessibility.
So, logic only dictates that we shouldn’t declare something like the megalodon as extinct if we really
haven’t explored every location where it could be hiding. We do know, according to scientific research,
that megs prefer warm, coastal water, but who could say that they haven’t evolved to take advantage of
less competition in other habitats? It has long been speculated that megs died out because they couldn’t
compete with the smaller and faster great white sharks, maybe they just upped and moved to
somewhere else? As long as such a large expanse of ocean remains unexplored, megalodon believers
will not believe their favorite shark to be extinct.

Number 9. Hiding in the Mariana Trench
As we have previously established, much of the world’s oceans remain unexplored. The perfect example
of that is the Mariana Trench, the undisputed deepest part of the ocean. So deep, in fact, that you could
easily fit Mt. Everest in it, with a few more thousand feet to spare.
Once thought a barren wasteland, scientists have discovered in the past few years that the place is
actually teeming with life. Both predators and prey alike thrive in its dark waters, from tiny fish, sea
cucumbers, giant amoeba, to monstrous creatures like the giant squid and the colossal squid.
Some whales are known to venture into its depths to hunt for these humongous squid, who’s to say that
the megalodon didn’t? For all we know, they might have found that it’s easier to eke out a living down
there and stayed permanently? Again, until a full exploration of the Mariana trench hasn’t been done,
    that distinct possibility still exists.

    Number 8. Google Map Sightings
Google Maps has been a boon to cryptozoologists and monster hunters everywhere, particularly to
those who believe that the megalodon still exists. Who could blame them when Google Map images like
    these exist.

This image reportedly shows a Google Map image in the Bahamas. In it you can clearly show the
silhouette of an extremely large fish. We know it’s large because these images are taken by satellites
orbiting the earth, so animal that would have registered on the image must be extremely large.
People have said that this image was actually of a whale shark, another extremely large animal that
frequents the waters off the coasts of the Bahamas, but there is something off about its shape to
definitely conclude that it’s a whale shark.
Of course, there are others who will always say that the photo is doctored and the unaltered photo can
be found somewhere. I’m not saying that explanation is impossible, especially with the internet being
littered with these faked photos, but something in this animal’s eerie silhouette really makes me believe
that the mighty meg still swims in our oceans.

    Number 7. Megalodon Teeth
Have you ever wondered why every beach side souvenir shops sell one of those necklaces with a shark’s
tooth as a pendant? Neither have I, as I find those too tacky for my taste. But then again, there’s a
reason why there are a lot of those being sold, and that’s not because of some covert black market on
    shark dentistry.
As it turns out, sharks will always have a fresh set of chompers. Their worn out teeth gets completely
replaced with new ones every couple of weeks or so. That’ the reason why the sea floor is littered with
them. The megalodon does the same thing.
Now, there have been a lot of controversy involved with found megalodon teeth. Some of them have
been dated to roughly around 10,000 years ago, specifically the ones recovered by the HMS Challenger,

Maybe it's the Megalodon, an ancient predator that's believed to be long gone? But could Megalodon still live In the deep ocean? This shark was the real king of the oceans - it even hunted whales! Surely such a majestic creature couldn't disappear without a trace? And indeed, there have been several cases when witnesses were sure they had seen the Meg. But could it be just their fear talking?

The Megalodon, which means big tooth, is the largest shark ever to roam the Earth's seas and oceans. It reportedly lived 23 to 3.6 million years ago and was truly enormous. Its bite was more powerful than that of a T-Rex. And no wonder - not only did the animal have super-strong jaws, but its teeth also reached 7 inches in length! Even better, the Megalodon had about 300 teeth growing in at least 6 rows. The shark itself could grow up to 59 ft - that's twice the length of a London double-decker bus!

The enormous sea menace, the megalodon – thought to have died out around 2.6 million years
ago – would even dwarf a great white shark. Despite being extinct, several unexplained videos
posted online have fueled suspicions that the beast still lurks in the deep ocean. Today, we are
looking at 10 ACTUAL sightings of megalodon that may prove it still exists! Number 1 is
terrifyingly real, so stay tuned for that!
Number 10. the beast of brazil
on November 20th, 2012, a video was uploaded by a Brazilian simmer that shows a shark lurking
in the water. The guy recording the video is in a helicopter trying to save the guy but the guy in
the water isn’t alone. If you look closely in the upper right corner, a very huge shark-like
creature swims by the swimmer. The guy must have been too scared to even notice the shark
there but the sheer size of the shark tells us a lot about it. It is easily 60 feet long and as it quickly
swings by. No one noticed the shark there until technicians were reviewing the footage. A person
uploaded it on the internet and as expected, it went viral overnight. Some shark experts said that
that was on a normal shark and hinted at the fact that it could actually be a megalodon.

Number 9. Monster shark of Australia
In 1960, sailors in Australia’s famous barrier reef witnessed something that could show that the
megalodon is alive and well. The sailors saw a massive shark swim by their boats as they were
trying to catch fish. The size of the shark was around 75 feet which almost sounds surreal. That

is the reason they did not tell anyone about it first because they thought no one would believe
them. But something like this cannot be hidden from the general public. One of them told the
story to a writer BC Cartmell who wrote about the shark in his book “let's go fossil shark tooth
hunting.”. This is what made the story so famous that parents still tell their kids about it as one of
the bedtime stories. People have assumed that the shark of the great barrier reef is proof that the
    megalodon still exists.

Number 8. The HMS challenger teeth
The scientific name of the megalodon is Carcharocles megalodon which means big tooth. The
shark is known for its massive killer teeth. A British ship the HMS challenger found a pair of
megalodon teeth in 1865. They were sent to research centers to be studied by experts. The pair of
teeth were well preserved and were confirmed to be those of a megalodon because of the size
and shape. But in 1950, when the megalodon teeth were studied again, doctors were confused to
find out that the teeth were just 12,000 to 20,000 years old. This is confusing because the
megalodon went extinct almost two million years back. This shows that the megalodon may have
somehow survived and existed in the rarest parts of the oceans.

    Number 7. An Unverified Attack
Next up, what we have is not with an actual sighting, but with the possible outcome of a close
encounter with a megalodon. A few years ago, a photo surfaced on the internet showing a
beached whale. While seeing a beached whale is already strange in itself, there’s something that
sets this event apart from the rest. The whale’s entire tail is missing, and it looks like it’s been

bitten off by something large. The most compelling thing about the photo is that you can clearly
see bite marks around where the tail should have been. Now, this is a 70-foot humpback whale,
one of the largest animals in the oceans, who could have done such a thing? While it is true that
Orcas or killer whales have a habit of hunting and feeding on whales, it isn’t known whether they
can take on a whale of this size. Plus, experts believe that the tail was shorn off in one bite. The
only animal with the size and strength to possibly do this is, you’ve guessed it, the mighty
    megalodon.

    Number 6. coelacanth
The coelacanth is an enormous, bottom-dwelling fish that is unlike other living fishes in a
number of ways. Some people believe that it could be proof that megalodon still existed.
coelacanth belong to an ancient lineage that has been around for more than 360 million years.
Coelacanths can reach more than six feet long and weigh about 200 pounds, and they're covered
in thick, scaly armor. It's estimated they can live up to 60 years or more. That is almost the same
lifespan as the megalodon. It was believed that coelacanth went extinct until it was found in
1938. Until then, they were presumed to have gone extinct in the late Cretaceous period, over 65
    million years ago.

We would never want to share our planet with some of the fierce prehistoric predators that used to walk-- or swim-- the earth. From the giant megalodon shark that used to lurk in the oceans to the terrifying titanoboa snake that could be more than 40 feet long. But not all evidence suggests that these mysterious creatures are actually gone. Dinosaurs could still walk among us. Maybe they’re just really good at hiding.

There have been sightings all over the world of strange, unexplainable creatures. From giant direwolves to land-sloths the size of elephants. There are tales of sea monsters like the Loch Ness monster and of giants like bigfoot, who could really just be the mysterious prehistoric great-ape gigantopithecus. We’ve found evidence that we were off by hundreds of thousands of years about when some of these creatures went extinct, like the saber-toothed tiger and the giant birds called teratorns. So couldn’t that mean we’re wrong about them going extinct at all?

We’ve dug up some of the most prominent legends, sightings, and evidence that suggest that these prehistoric creatures are still alive and well-- and that they’re just hiding in their own elusive parts of our world. From tales passed down through generations to unexplainable footprints, here are all the reasons these “extinct” creatures could still be out there today.

This ancient beast is called a megalodon shark, and if it had never become extinct, it would have a surprisingly large impact on our lives. How would they change the way we use our oceans?

10 Sightings of The Megalodon That May Prove That It Exists
Humans are fascinated by sharks. And the larger the shark is, the tighter its grip on our collective
imagination. So, let's take a look at the biggest shark of them all: the Megalodon.
Megalodon is thought to have grown to approximately 60 feet long, and to have gone extinct around 2.6
million years ago. However, not everyone is convinced that megalodon is dead and gone. Some
megalodon enthusiasts think the massive shark is alive and well and living undiscovered in the Earth's
oceans—and they often point to the sightings and evidence we’re bringing to you today.
Even if you believe that the Megalodon is long extinct – in which case, you're in good hands; scientists
everywhere agree with you – the myth of the modern megalodon is still fascinating. If nothing else,
these alleged megalodon sightings prove humans are fascinated by the ocean's mysterious depths. And
in an ideal world, that fascination might lead to increased interest in conservation of actual extant
    sharks.
Anyhow, without any further delay, here are 10 proofs that the biggest predator of the deep dark seas
still lurks around the depths of the oceans around the world.
    10. A Close Encounter
Let’s start things off not with an actual sighting, but with the possible outcome of a close encounter with
a megalodon. A few years ago, a photo surfaced on the internet showing a beached whale. While seeing
a beached whale is already strange in itself, there’s something that sets this event apart from the rest.
The whale’s entire tail is missing, and it looks like it’s been bitten off by something large. The most
compelling thing about the photo is that you can clearly see bite marks around where the tail should
have been. Now, this is a 70-foot humpback whale, one of the largest animals in the oceans, who could
    have done such a thing?
While it is true that Orcas or killer whales have a habit of hunting and feeding on whales, it isn’t known
whether they can take on a whale of this size. Plus, experts believe that the tail was shorn off in one
bite. The only animal with the size and strength to possibly do this is, you’ve guessed it, the mighty
    megalodon.
    9. David Stead and the 'giant' fish
In his book Sharks and Rays of the Australian Seas, Australian naturalist David Stead shared an anecdote,
which some believe describes a terrifying encounter with Meg herself.
According to Stead, in 1981 he spoke with several crayfish fishermen who were so terrified of a shark
they saw in their fishing grounds off Broughton Island that they refused to return to the ground for days.
They claimed to have seen a shark of unbelievable size surface in the deep water of the fishing grounds,
taking the pots and mooring with it.
Given that the crayfish pots were over three feet in diameter and loaded with heavy catch, that would
be no small feat. Stead and the local Fisheries Inspector, a Mr. Paton, questioned the men, who all
agreed to the shark's monstrous size—one claimed that its head alone was "at least as long as the roof
on the wharf shed at Nelson's Bay."

Many said it measured around 115 feet in length. Others said the water seemed to boil where it
surfaced. All of them were confident that it was a shark rather than a whale, and that it was pale white
in coloring. Given that the men they spoke to be all hardened fishermen accustomed to sharks, whales,
and other sea creatures, the conversations they had with these frightened witnesses left quite an
impression on Stead and Mr. Paton.
    8. Great Barrier Reef Incident
In his 1978 book Let's Go Fossil Shark Tooth Hunting, author B.C. Cartmell describes an alleged incident
that took place off the edge of Australia's Great Barrier Reef in the 1960s.
According to Cartmell, the sailors involved initially refused to speak of the incident because they feared
teasing. But after time, they admitted that when their 85-foot ship was forced to weigh anchor for
engine repairs, the captain and crew were shocked to see a gigantic white shark swim slowly past their
stuck ship. It rivaled the boat in size. All aboard agreed it was not a whale.
While there is no fish today that could match the size of an 85-foot boat other than a whale and since
sailors that have been regular at sea know the difference between a whale and a shark, could they have
been wrong? Many people believe that the Meg, given its huge size lurks only in deep sea where it can
find prey that matches its appetite, but since other sharks can lurk even in shallow water so what is
    stopping the Megalodon?
    Was it the megster?

Throughout our planet’s history there have lived many a larger-than-life predator capable of doing some serious damage to large prey. Between giant dinosaurs like the T-Rex and fearsome mammals like saber-toothed cats, there’s never been a shortage of meat-eating giants. None of them, however, can hold a candle to the largest marine predator that ever lived, the behemoth 18 meter, 60 ton monster shark known as Megalodon. Mysteriously, however, this unimaginably large shark disappears from the fossil record roughly 3 million years ago. Scientists have long been baffled as to why. In this video we explore the possible theories as how Megalodon became extinct and uncover new evidence that suggests the real answer may have been found.

The megalodon shark is one of the ocean's most ferocious predators of all time, but did you know there are more sea monsters that're much scarier!?

For millions of years, Megalodon was king of the ocean - nothing could get in its way. It could bite its razor sharp teeth down with as much deadly force as a tyrannosaurus rex, and it stretched longer than a modern-day school bus. Its reputation was as frightening as any other animal in history, however, reputation and reality don’t always line up.

If we take a closer look, a number of other deep-sea demons could take down the former apex predator. From enormous whales to 60-foot reptiles capable of taking down anything in its path, to ancient dinosaurs, and modern sharks with a thirst for vengeance, as you’re about to see, Megalodon had a number of formidable opponents.

    Why Great White Sharks Are
    Not Kept In Aquariums
If you've ever been to an Aquarium, you would notice one thing immediately. Well, not immediately, but
    you would notice it eventually.
And it's the fact that the Aquarium has no great white shark. And that's not only true for the Aquarium
in your state alone. It's true for Aquariums all over the world.
But why is this so? Why can't we capture Great White Sharks and get them in Aquariums? Are they
impossible to capture, or have we not just thought of it?
Well, there are ten good reasons why you've never seen a Great White Shark in an Aquarium, and you
only need to continue watching to learn these ten reasons.
Reason one will definitely make you mushy.
#10 They Are Difficult To Capture
First off, let's get a few things straight. A lot of Aquariums have tried to capture Great White Sharks. It
has just proven to be impossible.
This is because a Great White Shark is one of the hardest sharks to capture. This is not only because it is
large, but because it is also quite aggressive. For example, man could only even capture one as recently
    as 1955.
While, you might say that 1955 isn't that recent, and that's true. But we don't even know when man
learned to capture wild animals like lions and tigers. Our ancestors have been doing that for so long that
many kings had tamed wild animals in their palaces.
However, our first attempt at taming a Great White Shark came just about 70 years ago. To make things
worse, that first attempt was a failure. The first great white shark to be held in captivity was just held for
    less than a day.
So yeah, before you can even think of having a great white shark in an Aquarium, you have to capture it
first— and we can tell you that that's not easy.
    At all
#9 They Are Difficult To Transport

Great White Sharks are large animals. Some reach up to twenty feet and they can weigh up to 1,100
    kilograms. That's a lot.
And one thing that we've learnt over the years is that transporting an animal of that size from one side
of the ocean to another isn't the easiest thing in the world.
For some Aquariums, the trouble just isn't worth it. Given that Great Whites are difficult to capture, the
fact that Aquariums have to go through so much hassle to transport them again just makes the whole
    venture unrealistic.
We know what you must be thinking— well, aren't orcs and dolphins in Aquariums? Well, none of them
is quite as large and as aggressive as Great White Sharks. That's why they are called Great White Sharks.
    #8 Lack Of Resources
How rich do you think your regular Aquarium is? Do you think they are rolling in wads of cash, or do you
think they are struggling to get by?
Don't worry, your answer literally doesn't matter. The fact is that it's way too expensive to catch a Great
White Shark, and many Aquariums don't just see it as being worth it.
Scientists say that to catch a Great White Shark, you'd have to provide a few things. The first thing you'd
need to provide is a tank and an open water pen. This is because you can't just tag a Great White Shark,
drug it, put it in ice, load it in a plane, and then fly it over to wherever the Aquarium is.
It just doesn't work that way.
To transport even a small Great White Shark, you'd have to have an open water pen that can hold at
least 3.78 million litres of water with a depth of at least 10.6 meters. In addition to that, the Aquarium
has to keep the Great White in an open water pen that can take 15 million litres of water before even
transferring it to the Aquarium's facilities.
As you can see, all this will cost a lot of money, and only a few Aquariums can actually afford to pay this
much to have a Great White Shark.
But what of those who can pay? Why don't they have a Great White Shark?

#5 They Are A Danger To Others And
    Themselves
If a Great White Shark is kept with any other shark, the likelihood that the Great White kills it and eats it
within a day or two is very high. So, not only is catching a Great White Shark as a chore on its own, it can
even be expensive in other ways.
Imagine buying a pet and finding out that that pet killed the other pet that you had before. That's
    exactly how it is like.

And as you may know, the other marine animals that the Great White may kill are actually pretty
expensive to get. It's not an easy task getting them, and most Aquariums can't deal with sharks killing
    each other in their facilities.
To make things worse, Great White Sharks rarely allow even human beings to feed them. This
sometimes leads them to die of starvation.
