    7. Glenwood Power Plant
Looking creepy enough to be used as a filming location for horror movies, this power plant has been abandoned since its closure in 1963. The plant was built to provide electricity for the New York Central Railroad tracks and became operational in 1906. The structure was abandoned for 50 years and today is littered with graffiti and almost completely empty. Recently the Goren Group started a project to convert the building into an arts-focused events complex that will include a hotel, restaurants, and a marina.

    6. Oradour-sur-Glane
Technically this village was never abandoned. The inhabitants of the town were slaughtered on June 10, 1944, when a Nazi company massacred 642 of its residents, including 247 women and 205 children. French president Charles de Gaulle ordered the village to be maintained in its original state as a permanent memorial and historical site after the war. Today the village endures as a popular tourist site, with many people claiming to see ghostly figures roaming the vacant streets late at night.

    5. Florida Dome Homes
Once upon a time, these dome homes were the self-sustaining, state of the art dwellings of an oil tycoon. Today they lie abandoned and run down, a mere shell of their former greatness. Oil producer Bob Lee built the futuristic homes as a vacation spot on Cape Romano for his family in the 1980’s. The problem with Florida beachfront property is that it can be susceptible to hurricanes, which often plague the area. The Dome Homes were severely damaged several times and after requests to build a seawall were denied the property was ultimately abandoned.

    4. Port Arthur
Said to be one of the most haunted places in Australia, Port Arthur in Tasmania has seen plenty of tragedy and death in its time. The port was a penal colony in the mid-1800’s and was home to some of the hardest British criminals and had some of the strictest security measures in the British penal system. Much like Alcatraz Island, it was often billed as an inescapable prison. In 1996 28-year-old Martin Bryant went on a killing spree in the small town in which 35 people died, making it the worst mass murder in the country's post-colonial history. This event led to a severe crackdown on firearms throughout the nation in which 640,000 weapons were turned into authorities.

    3. The Bhangarh Fort
Often dubbed the most haunted place in India, this 17th-century fort is completely ruined today. There are many myths about the place that have added to its haunted reputation. According to legend, a wizard is said to have cursed the fort and everyone in it after being rejected by a princess with whom he had fallen in love. The curse endures to this day and there are plenty of people who have reportedly had contact with ghosts or felt evil spirits when visiting the area.

    2. Willard Asylum
This hospital opened in 1869 as Willard Asylum for the Chronic Insane in New York. The first patient was a woman named Mary Rote, who had spent the previous 10 years of her life chained up in a room. The asylum helped improve her condition and by 1890 the hospital had over 2000 patients. By this time the location had become completely self-sufficient. Patients grew their own food and tended to their own medical needs. There were even a morgue, a cemetery and a bowling alley on site. A huge push for deinstitutionalization occurred throughout the country in the 1990’s, leading to the asylum’s closure in 1995. Over half of the 50,000 or so patients who called Willard Asylum, their home also died there. Since the asylum closed its doors it has become widely recognized as a haunted location.

    1. Pripyat
The infamous Chernobyl disaster of 1986 left an entire city which once had a population of nearly 50,000 completely abandoned. Thanks to the high amounts of radiation that escaped during the terrifying event the land is sure to remain untouched for hundreds of years. Chernobyl was the worst nuclear accident in history. While two human deaths occurred during the actual event, hundreds of thousands of people and animals in the area are thought to have been affected detrimentally by the high amounts of radiation exposure that the accident caused.

  • 13 Valuable Things Found In Abandoned Places

    10:13

From valuable comic books to stacks of cold hard cash, here's a list of 13 Valuable Things Found in Abandoned Places.

    5. Recycling Riches
At a recycling plant, a worker named Mike Rogers stumbled across something a little unusual in a barrel amidst a bunch of scrap metal and kitchen appliances: old savings bonds that totaled up to roughly $22,000. Instead of pocketing the valuable find, he and his wife took the time to do some research to see if they could find the rightful owner. Sure enough, one man had all the right answers to all the right questions and Mike being the good ol’ guy he is gave them back. They’re not sure how the bonds wound up at the plant in the first place, but one thing’s for sure: Mike was literally this guys “saving” grace. Okay, I’m reaching.

    4. Ancient Artifacts
Junk removal specialist Nick DiMola was tasked with cleaning out an apartment that once belonged to abstract artist Clinton Hill. Hill’s estate paid DiMola’s company to clean out the apartment and accompanying storage, and that’s when DiMola came across an old barrel that was set aside and thought to be trash. Said barrel was left at a warehouse for years, forgotten by all, until one day he decided it might be worthwhile to take a peek inside. What he found were dozens of ancient Mexican artifacts that consisted of jugs, bowls, and figurines, dated to between 300 B.C. and 500 A.D. Due to the contract between him and Hill’s estate, DiMola didn’t have to return the artifacts to and says he probably plans on selling them in the future. Just one of the pieces, a stone ax god, was appraised at $1,000, making him one lucky son of a gun. We’d probably give the property back though, considering it’s not technically his. We won’t be surprised if he winds up swimming with the fishes.

    3. Cold Hard Cash
Back in 2011, a man named Josh Ferrin ran across a giant sum of cash in his home and instead of spending it, he did what his heart told him was right and contacted the previous owners of the house. It turns out the father of the household had passed away not long beforehand and had spent years and years saving up all of the money to provide for his family when he was gone. Ferrin admits that at first thoughts of his own financial situation flashed through his head, but he looked past that and found it in himself to do the right thing. An artist and author, Ferrin says he knows what it’s like to spend a lot of time on something and to want to see it come to fruition. Well, seems that he sure helped a dream come to pass. Building up that good karma!

    2. Tubular Time Capsule
In 2013, in Tennessee, one Reddit user hit the jackpot when going through his grandparents home that had been left to his father who recently passed. When he found no use for the house, the man decided to sell it, and while doing renovations and getting it ready, he stumbled upon something extraordinary: a safe buried in a block of cement, placed under the carpet in a downstairs room that looked as though it hadn’t been touched for years. After trying several of his grandfather's other safe combinations, which proved incorrect, the man was all but ready to rip his hair out, not to mention the safe from the floor. Using his brain, he called in a locksmith, and after a lot of hard work, they got it open. Inside were old coin books, jewelry, and rolls upon rolls of coins. The loot is said to be worth thousands. Thank God for grandparents.

    1. Thank You Mr. Hancock
Back in 1991, an art collector purchased a painting at a flea market in Pennsylvania because he took a liking to the frame. Little did he know, hidden behind said frame was an official copy of the Declaration of Independence. The man purchased the national treasure for the small sum of $4, which is incredible considering it yielded roughly 605,000 times that amount. The frame somehow managed to preserve the document, making the copy “unspeakably fresh.” Right now, there are only 24 known surviving original copies of the Declaration, three of which are in private hands. The flea market find was unbacked, making it one of just seven copies to be so, which also increased its value. Previously, the record for an official copy sold for $1.6 million in 1990. The fresh to death, unbacked copy sold for $2,420,000 at auction, making up for having to spend an entire day at a flea market. Ever been to one of those things? It’s like spending a whole day inside an even grimier version of People of Walmart.

  • Weirdest Things Found In Abandoned Places

    11:04

One person’s trash really can be another person’s treasure. If you’re moving or cleaning out your house, be careful of what you leave behind! You never know when someone else is going to snatch it up and sell it for more than you can imagine.

    7. The Declaration Of Independence
Music equipment technician Michael Sparks was doing his usual bargain hunting in Nashville when the Declaration of Independence landed in his lap. He was at a thrift store when he came across the nearly 200-year-old copy of one of America’s most important documents. He bought it for just $2.48! Even though Sparks didn’t find the text in an abandoned place, we thought it was worth mentioning because someone evidently abandoned something that would have made them a millionaire if they just kept an eye on it!

    6. Hole In The Wall
The former residents of a dilapidated house in Pennsylvania passed away years ago. In 2007, their children hired Jeff Bidelman, the owner of the Rare Collectables store in Pennsylvania, to take a look around the home to find any valuables. He noticed there was a big hole in the wall. When he asked one of the daughters about it, she said she remembered something her mother said. When the mother was younger, she used to hear stories of people throwing coins in the hole. Bidelman and the woman’s daughter went to look inside, and sure enough, there was a pile of old coins, some of them almost 200 years old. He estimated the coins to be worth somewhere around $100,000 to $200,000.

    5. Forgotten Abstract Art
Artist Rufino Tamayo was a Mexican painter who lived between 1899 and 1991. Much of his art pieces are considered abstract and surreal works. He was incredibly famous during his time and to own one of his paintings means you could be a millionaire. In 2007, Elizabeth Gibson was strolling along the Manhattan Upper West Side when she noticed something sticking out of the trash. That thing was a painting called “Tres Personages” and was painted by none other than Tamayo. Gibson received a $15,000 reward for turning the painting in and received a percentage of the sale price.

    4. Rolls of Cash
If you’re low on cash, maybe you should make a habit of dumpster diving or searching abandoned properties. From many of these stories, it’s a lucrative business. Urban explorer that goes by the alias “Freaktographer” was exploring a house that had been empty for 30 years when he found items that would make any Antique Roadshow fan squeal with delight. From vintage wedding photos, radios, a sewing machine to letters, pictures, and clothes, the most exciting thing he discovered were rolls and rolls of cash. Instead of just taking the money and running, he tracked down the rightful owners of the house and gave it back to them.

    3. Long Forgotten Beasts
There are reserved fossil sites where experts can go and keep digging for evidence of plants and animals from long ago. Once in a while, however, you can make discoveries in the most unexpected places. Fern fossils were discovered in the ghost town of Centralia, Pennsylvania. In the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan in Mexico City, archaeologists discovered fossilized dogs. At a closed down Australian wildlife park, an enormous preserved shark was found sitting in a tub of formaldehyde. Some people even go down to the old park to check the shark out for themselves.

    2. Inside Pablo Escobar’s House
Colombian crime lord Pablo Escobar once owned a pink mansion in Miami Florida. Fast food mogul Christian de Berdouare purchase the house in 2016. Berdouare is no fool. He didn’t buy the home because he liked the way it looked. He knew it used to belong to Escobar, so he bought it with the intention of seeing what lay inside. His hunch paid off when he came across an old safe. No one knows what’s inside as Berdouare hasn’t opened it.

After that happens, they can end up abandoned in some unlikely places. In some cases, they end up in those strange places long before their time is due.

Who doesn’t love a good roller coaster? Whether it’s for their speed, their height, or their crazy twists and their themes, we all like to get some adrenaline pumping while riding on these thrilling inventions. But unfortunately, sometimes life happens, and what was once a place full of fun rides suddenly turns into an eerie abandoned location that could easily become the scenario for a zombie apocalypse or any horror film. Today we’ll be looking at “10 Abandoned Roller Coaster Parks” and see how some of the best parks in the world turned into creepy abandoned locations after facing life changing events. When you make it to the top of the list, you’ll see how all of these places can easily be turned into attractions of their own kind. Because after all, exploring abandoned creepy places comes with its own thrills.

    Dunblobbin, England
    (

Back in the 90s, there was a popular TV show in the UK called Noel's House Party. It was presented by the famous TV star Noel Edmond, and it featured a popular character called Mr. Blobby. This character was so famous, that it even got its own set of themed parks. Unfortunately, none of the parks survived the decade, and by the end of the 90s, they were all closed. One of the parks got turned into a hotel, but surprisingly, they left one if its areas intact. It was the area called Dunblobbin and it has now been taken over by nature. While in the past, Dunblobbin was the area dedicated for the little ones to play, this spot is now a place where ghost-hunters gather, hoping to catch a glimpse of a supernatural event. A lot of rumors say the place is haunted, but I guess only the ones who dare to visit will be able to tell if that's true.

    Spreepark, Germany
    (

Right outside Berlin, there is an abandoned park with a very long history. Its latter name was Spreepark, but it was actually built in the year of 1969 by the communist party of East Germany, and they called it Kulti. 20 years later, the park was rebranded as the Berlin Wall fell. However, the new owner of the park was involved in some criminal actions like smuggling drug through the shipping of the equipment needed for the park. At the end, the park closed operations due to the owner's questionable actions, but also because of the lack of enough visitors to sustain operations. Today, the amusement park is abandoned, but you can still spot some of its rides such as the ferris wheel, a cup carousel and the Spreeblitz rollercoaster. Even though the place is abandoned, it stil holds on to the charms of its days of glory. The place was even featured in the film Hannah. Today you can take a tour of this abandoned park for only 5 Euros! I guess you might want to add that to your list of places to see in Berlin.

    Gulliver’s Kingdom, Japan

You'll soon realize that Japan is quite a popular spot for abandoned theme parks, and here's the first one on this list: Gulliver's Kingdom. If you're into literature, you probably heard about Gulliver's Travels, and this is exactly what inspired this short lived park. Gulliver's Kingdom first opened in 1997 and shut down operations four years later, in the year 2001. One of its main features was the large statue of Lemuel Gulliver tied to the ground, which is a depiction of the scene of the book in which he gets captured by the tiny people of Lilliput. Like many parks on this list, Gulliver's Kingdom ceased operations due to the lack of enough visitors. And if you look at it closely, you'll soon realize why not many people wanted to visit this place. The park was located very close to the infamous Aokigahara, most commonly known as the suicide forest. And if that's not eerie enough, they were also near the former headquarters of a religious cult that took the lives of 13 people in Tokyo in 1995. I don't know about you, but that's more than enough for me to stay away from a theme park...even when it honors one of the most famous works of literature.

    Dunaujvarosi Vidampark, Hungary

Don't you just wish, sometimes, that we could go on roller coasters whenever we feel like it? Unfortunately, that is not so easy to accomplish

  • 16 Unbelievably Beautiful Abandoned Places

    7:12

Have you ever explored an abandoned place? We have gathered a list of 16 unbelievable abandoned places you will be sure to visit!

    16 Most beautiful Abandoned Places

    10 - Not something from a Sci Fi movie…
This was actually the HQ for the Communist Party in Bulgaria. It looks like a giant flying saucer, and was created by the communist regime as a meeting place. It was active from 1981 to 1991, and then fell into disrepair when the fall of the Soviet Union took place. Apparently they are looking into restoring it.

    9 - Old places have soul…
And this exquisite abandoned railway station oozes soul. Its location is the former Russian territory known as Abkhazia. It was deserted in the 90’s, more than likely due to blockades imposed by Russia. This type of architecture is known as Stalinist Gothic or Socialist Classicism.

8 - Only memories left behind...
This is the Gouqi Island, which forms part of a group of nearly 400 islands called the Shengsi Islands in China. At one stage it was a super busy fishing village, but with the developments of secondary and tertiary industries, many of these little fishing villages didn’t last too much longer, and people left seeking work elsewhere.

    7 - Hauntingly Beautiful…
Sadly, the stories of what went on inside the Beelitz -Heilstaten hospital are not as hauntingly beautiful as some of the architecture seen in this building. This hospital once had Hitler recovering there for a bit. It saw thousands of TB patients heading through the doors, had murders take place inside, accidental deaths and I’m sure many other atrocities.
The Sanatorium is in Brandenburg in Germany, and sees many people breaking in just to capture some of the beauty that the actual building hosts.

    6 - A romantic tale…
There doesn’t seem to be an exact story as to how the Chatillon Car Graveyard in Belgium came into being, but it’s a breathtaking sight. The cars are surrounded by plants and branches and vines are growing through the vehicles. Reporters say the cars were left in haste, but the romanticized story attached to them is that the cars belonged to US Soldiers, who left them behind when the war finished and they returned home.

    5 - Going back in time…
This makes me feel like I am right there at this blade mill in France. Not much is given about this exact blade mill, but the sharpening of blades, scythes, sickles, knives and swords took place there. Apparently many grinders died very young due to grinders disease, which is a lung disease more than likely from inhaling the dust when the grinding took place.

    4 - No trespassing allowed…
It’s all because of one brave girl that we have access to these beautiful images of an abandoned rocket factory in Russia. We only know her as Lana, and she broke into the factory, situated just outside Moscow. As you can imagine, Russian authorities weren’t happy at all, and even posted threatening letters on her website. So a big thank you Lana, for showing us what it looks like on the inside!

    3 - A personal journey…
This 27-meter-deep well is found in Sintra and is known as the Initiation Well. It’s meant to be lead one on a journey of self-discovery and rebirth. You’re either going into the darkness or coming out into the light. Also could be deemed as death and birth.
It was owned by a well-known freemason, who used the wells (there are 2 of them) for ceremonial purposes. They were never used to draw water, and every part of the wells is symbolic in some way.

    2 - Ghost Town…
Or rather Ghost Subway… this is stunning, the City Hall Subway Station in New York, and was supposed to the showpiece when it came to subway stations. However, a mere 41 years after opening – it was actually closed down. For some reason, traffic at that station saw a rapid decline, and then with the onset of the Great Depression and then WW2, the station wasn’t used at all… so it was shut down. It received landmark status in 1979, and there plans in the pipeline a few years ago to bring it back to life.

    1 - History created…
This breathtaking Crystal Mill is from 1892, and is actually a decompressor station. Constructed in 1893, it was used as a power plant. This Mill is said to be one of the most photographed sites in Colorado in the US, and has a place on the National Register of Historic Places.

  • 15 Crazy Things Found Abandoned In Baggage Claim

    12:49

These 15 craziest and most expensive things were abandoned in Airports' baggage claim and some of these even changed the life of people. While others, were completely shocked of what they found.

When luggage goes unclaimed, the airlines try to contact the owner and if they haven’t gotten a response after 90 days, the luggage goes to the Unclaimed Baggage Center. Since the center has a deal with all American airlines, literally all of the nation’s unclaimed luggage goes there – to the tune of 7,000 new items a day. This means that the store gets some pretty crazy things. And often these things can generate a lot of money.

Many animals are smuggled in luggage, and some of this luggage goes unclaimed. Lizards, tortoises, and snakes have all been found in the airport or made their way to the Unclaimed Baggage Center. While we don’t know how the snake got in the luggage, the lizard and the tortoises were likely smuggled illegally. This video will show you how these animals were smuggled and what happened to them once they were discovered. Cash and jewelry are also really common unclaimed baggage items. We’ll show you an emerald and a diamond that were found in unclaimed luggage that ended up selling for tens of thousands of dollars. We’ll also tell you about a shopper who bought a Barbie from the Unclaimed Luggage Center only for her daughter to remove the head and find a bunch of money. So you can expect to see all these items alongside other crazy abandoned luggage treasures like a suit of armor, an ancient Egyptian mummy, and a 15-foot rocket.
Is your interest piqued yet? This isn’t even the half of it. Stay tuned to see all the amazing things that turned up in unclaimed luggage.

  • 9 STRANGE Abandoned Places Around The World

    10:15

From submerged cities and abandoned castles, to magnificent places hidden in mountains and forests, these are 9 Strange Abandoned Places Around the World.

HEY YOU ! There are more awesome videos being made every week, like and subscribe to World Unearthed so you don't miss a beat !

    9. Chateau Miranda
    LOCATION - BELGIUM

    8.Villa Epecuen
    LOCATION - ARGENTINA

    7.Castle of Merle
    LOCATION - FRANCE

    6.Coco Palms Resort
    LOCATION - HAWAII

    5.Vance Creek Bridge
    LOCATION - WASHINGTON STATE

Ask and you shall receive, Noelle, there are awesome abandoned places all over the map, you just have to find them !

Vance creek bridge is one of those places. There are no road signs, there are no travel guides, there are no gift shops. Well thats how things were before the explosion of social media. What was once a local secret became an overnight sensation since EVERYONE wanted a selfie on “that Pacific Northwest Bridge”

Just a short back story, the bridge was built in the 1920s by the Simpson Investment Company and was instrumental in the transportation of lumber from the area. That railroad spanned hundreds of miles throughout the Olympic Peninsula in its heyday.

The bridge has suffered a lot in the last few years, many of the wood boards are missing, the metal underneath is covered in graffiti, and of course, there is tons of garbage thrown in the river below. Its sad to say, but sometimes, amazing places can be ruined by too many visitors.

However surrounding area is still breathtaking, the bridge is still standing, and the sky has not fallen… yet, but beware, it is all private property.

    4.Sarajevo Olympic Village
    LOCATION - BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

In 1984, Sarajevo was the capital of Bosnia And Herzegovina which was under control by Communist Yugoslavia, and it was also the site of the first Winter Olympic games to be hosted in a communist country. The official mascot was Vucko, a playful wolf, and almost everything went smoothly.

Things didn’t go so smoothly in 1992 when Bosnia and Herzegovina declared independence from Yugoslavia. Sarajevo suffered the longest occupation of a capital city in modern warfare times, and for 1425 days it was used as a battleground between opposing forces. The Olympic village was not spared, on the contrary, many parts of it were used for ammunition storage and defense, there is stories of people still finding land mines in the area

Some of the land that was part of the winter village has been turned into a graveyard commemorating all the people who lost their lives during the bloody conflict. The place is not completely abandoned, and as you can see in this picture, the bobsled track is used by many thrillseekers.

    3.Fort Carroll
    LOCATION - MARYLAND

At number 4 on our list, we have Fort Carroll, an artificial island built near Baltimore, Maryland. The project was finished in 1847 and the fort became instrumental in the defense system of north east sea ports.

Fort Carroll was upgraded periodically but by 1950 it was rendered useless. In 1958, the fort was purchased for $10,000 with the intentions of opening a casino on it. The plans were never materialized, and the only occupants for the last 60 or so years have been various animals and the occasional urban explorer.

    2.Dhanushkodi Church
    LOCATION - INDIA

It seems like almost every place in India is tied to a legendary epic tale, and Pamban Island is no exception. Dhanushkodi is a deserted town on the southern tip of the island, and in the Hindu Epic, Ramayana, it was described as the starting point of the bridge connecting India to Sri Lanka

Perhaps the most interesting part of the whole town is the Church, it was built about 300 years ago by the Portuguese. The town was a bustling community until its destruction by the 1964 Rameshwaram Cyclone that hit the area.

In December 2016, heavy rainfall caused a big part of the remaining wall to crumble, but not all was lost. Many visitors describe the place as serene and a must visit for any adventurer.

    1.Assy Turgen Observatory
    LOCATION: KAZAKHSTAN

It is impossible not to notice the massive influence of the U.S.S.R. in the design of this rundown space observatory. Located, in seriously, the middle of nowhere Kazakhstan, the Assy - Turgen Observatory, is half abandoned, and half operational.

The site was supposed to have 2 big telescopes spying on the night sky, but only 1 was ever installed, the other one has been “under construction” for the past few decades. The situation is a bit murky, and the sources I have found for this information are questionable. It is almost like this is a …. Top secret military operation pretending to be a dilapidated observatory.

Most people that have had the chance to visit the beautiful mountainside around the observatory have mentioned that the place is still strictly off limits and there are security guards and guard dogs that are not afraid to yell at you.

  • CREEPIEST Abandoned Places in Estonia

    10:35

From scary and unsettling prisons; to mysterious locations; these are the 10 CREEPIEST Abandoned Places in Estonia !

    3. Rummu Prison
This abandoned prison, located in the country of Estonia, was once considered to be Europe’s Alcatraz.A quarry was formed to gather marble in the 1930’s but it quickly became a prisoner camp where subjects would be forced into a life of hard labor. Near the quarry are two prisons which the most visited one being, Rummu Prison. Groundwater began to rise here and it submerged the prison, but surrounded it by crystal clear water and white sands. Once the empire of the soviets had crumbled, so did many of the buildings. This flooded prison which was once home to much human suffering has also become a tourist attraction for thrill seeking scuba divers. Built from limestone, this housed an estimated 7,000 convicts between 1930-1931 and many were forced into hard labor for nearly 12 hours a day. There might not look like much from outside, but there’s seemingly an endless amount of things to explore underwater. Here in this photo we see some scuba divers swimming up near the barbed wire fence that once surrounded the enclosure. It present times, local estonians enjoy having picnics in the area. Soviet prisons in estonia were like a little slice of hell and maybe the reason it’s become a popular place for Estonians, is to remember their history, in a non aggressive way.

    2. Aegna Island
This island is considered to be Tallinn’s only island and despite there being about 100 people or so living here the majority of the island is abandoned. For centuries it was commonly used for seal hunting which was a vital source of food for people living on this remote island. During the beginning of the 20th century, there’s a massive effort to fortify the coast of Estonia and islands off the coast were a good way to add further protection. This was the case for the Aegna Island and all citizens were forced to leave in the early 19th century. The effort to fortify this place grew even bigger when the Soviets took over and many of the military related buildings here are abandoned. Although it’s heavily wooded, that doesn’t mean explorers wouldn’t come across some strange things such as these strange concrete caldrops. There’s also a few labarinths you might find scattered throughout the forest./

    1. Linnahall
Also located in the capital city of Tallinn, this old abandoned concert and sports hall, sits right on the edge of the Finland strait, just outside of the Estonia’s old town. During the 22nd olympics, Moscow hosted a sailing event here which was given to Estonia to be in charge of. This was because, they found no proper sailing locations as far inland as moscow and therefore, a structure in Estonia had to be constructed. In modern times, the venue is home to a helipad, which transports Finnish people normally looking to buy cheaper alcohol over here. The outside area still has a soviet style too it and it takes up quite a few square meters. Explorers might come across some graffiti but other than that, this former soviet structure still sits at the edge of the coast, in good condition.

  • 12 Most Amazing And Unique Abandoned Vehicles

Not every vehicle that rolls off the production line is one of a series. Some of them are completely unique, made to order, and unlike anything else that’s ever been built before. Often that uniqueness will be key to the vehicle’s value, but other times it becomes a curse. A unique vehicle isn’t always a useful one, and so some one-off works become abandoned and forgotten about in favor of more practical models. Each vehicle you’re about to see in this video has a story, and we’re here to tell it!

  • 10 Toxic Abandoned Places

From the Berkeley Mine Pit, to the dirtiest pesticide plant in the world, these are 10 TOXIC Abandoned Places

    7. Wittenoom, Australia

    6. The Berkeley Pit

    5. Europe’s Abandoned Cooling Towers
A man by the name of Reginald Van de Velde had the opportunity to explore the imposing man made industrial structures from what’s left over of nuclear power plants. Despite the controversy that comes with nuclear power, these are well-made modern marvels of architecture and he got a rare chance to go inside a few before they were demolished. In this photo we see the inside view of a cooling tower scheduled for maintenance in France. Vegetation at the bottom of this abandoned cooling tower in Belgium has began to grow even if it was once covered in toxic radioactive water at some point. He claims that no two cooling towers are the same and and this shot also from belgium gives you an idea how massive some of these structures are. The five cooling towers make up a huge part of the skyline in this countryside of the UK and are the only thing that remains of a nuclear plant that was destroyed

    4. Mailuu-Suu Mine
Located in the country of Kyrgyzstan, this is seriously one of the most toxic places on earth and it’s also abandoned! During the time when the Soviet Union occupied this country, the region of Mailuu-Suu had a resource that was desperately sought after. Uranium ore. Uranium was a key element in winning the cold war in order to produce nuclear submarines, power plants of and course weapons of mass destruction This mines here produced a whopping 10,000 metric tons of this resource from 1946-1968. They weren’t meant to withstand some forces of mother nature and in 1994 the mine flooded and caused a mudslide to spew uranium all over the place! They only people you might find walking around the abandoned mine here, are those who try to salvage uranium to sold on the black market.

    3. New Idria, California
This toxic ghost town in San Benito County, California is named after the New Idria Mercury mine. The town was settled in 1854 when pioneers began coming across cinnabar, gold and mercury. The discovery of Mercury was important for gold mining and this happened during a time when gold mining was sweeping through Northern California. The mercury is used to extract gold from gold ore and it results in a much purer gold. It became an important mining location up until the mine closed in 1972 and people began to realize how toxic mercury truly was. Elevated levels of mercury were found in the cities water supply and not only that, but the nearby hills also have been found with asbestos, making this place toxic on many different levels.

    2. Kalachi, Kazakhstan
The town of Kalachi Kazakhstan isn’t 100 percent abandoned just yet but it might as well be. More and more villagers leave here each day and some claim the government is forcing them too. Recently gold was found in this area and villagers believe they are becoming ill from a toxic gas used by the government in order to build the gold mine here. The city is left in ruins and everyone appears to be quite ill! There used to be a population of about 6000 people but now just a few hang onto life at this soon to be toxic ghost town. The statue you see here is in a town nearby that’s been abandoned and it looks like Kalachi will suffer the same fate. No one rides the swings or plays on the jungle gym outside anymore. Others believe uranium mines nearby are causing the strange illnesses.

    1. Bhopal Pesticide Plant
We’ve heard of the tragedies that Chernobyl has brought to the area in the Ukraine in some previous videos but the in all actuality the Bhopal incident was much more devastating. A pesticide factory owned by a US corporation in the heavily populated area of India was found to be leaking a large amount of cyanide into the air of the city of Bhopal. This caused 5,295 people to lose their lives but many claim the number is much higher and more like 25,000! This poison gas factory is now abandoned and it certainly is still toxic! To what degree exactly is unsure, but many believe their is a huge amount of toxic waste underground. Some daring urban explorers decided to visit that plant and came across some dusty bottles with chemicals still unopened! The rusting chemical plant itself will prove to be an environmental issue itself if it’s not carefully demolished

There are three places you might reasonably expect to find a plane. The first and most obvious place is in the sky. The second is at an airport, either loading or unloading goods or passengers. The third is in a hangar, waiting for a new job to do. If they turn up anywhere else, it tends to be a surprise to see them. Just like old clothes, disused mobile phones, and broken down cars, though, planes can become abandoned - and they can turn up in some unusual places when it happens.
