7 Biggest Snakes Ever Found

We know the anacondas, boas, pythons, but have you heard about the Titanoboa? It is the queen of snakes and is also the largest ever known.

Correction: The titanoboa weighed 1.13 tons.

Its scientific name is Titanoboa Cerrejonensis, because it was discovered in the Cerrejón coal mines, located in the State of La Guajira, in Colombia. In this place, the geologist Henry Garcia found a strange fossil in 1994. He labeled it a petrified branch and stored it in a counter in the mine's facilities.

The discovery was not free of challenges. To know what the titanoboa was feeding on and what its true size was, the head was needed. Until then, mining activity had helped the discovery of new species. While more layers of land miners extracted, more species were found and they seemed to be increasingly older. The problem was that this time the miners had announced that they were going to start digging in lower strata and that all the land from the time of the titanoboa would be removed, losing any trace of it. The paleontologists had to hurry.

    10. Floridian Python
Burmese pythons are in theory native to Southeast Asia. However, they also do extremely well in Florida, so now we all have to beware of the Giant Python Invasion!! Not that long ago, the Everglades were teeming with raccoons, opossums, marsh rabbits, and other small critters invading trash cans and every now and again spotted as roadkill.

    9. Black Mamba
Venomous snakes are usually a lot smaller than constrictors, but that doesn’t mean they can’t grow to relatively enormous sizes. The black mamba is one of the most dangerous and fastest snakes in the world slithering at speeds of up to 13 mph. They are found across southern and eastern Africa.

    8. Medusa
Medusa holds the world record for being the longest snake to ever be kept in captivity, and she was gigantic. Measuring 25 feet and 2 inches long (7.67 meters), and weighing 350 pounds(158.8 kg), it required 15 people to hold her up at full length so she could be measured to qualify for the record.

    7. Malaysian Python
In 2016, workers on a construction site on the island of Penang in Malaysia spotted something moving beneath a fallen tree. They went to take a closer look, and to their amazement found that it was an enormous reticulated python.

    6. Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake
Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnakes are native to the southeastern US, and are one of the heaviest venomous snakes on the continent and easily the largest type of rattlesnake. Locals have long known to be careful around them because of their long fangs and potent venom, but sometimes you can’t avoid them if they’ve strayed into town, or into your home!.

    5. King Cobra
King Cobras are the longest venomous snakes in the world! They are also probably the world's most famous species of venomous snake because of their recognizable hoods, and they have played an important part in local Indian and Southeastern Asian cultures for thousands of years.

    4. Brazilian Anaconda
Anacondas can be found across South America, and are the largest known snake species on earth. They grow to such sizes because they rely on their muscular bodies to wrap around and squeeze the life out of their prey, and there's no creature in the rainforest that's safe from them.

    3. Laophis Crotaloides
The first fossils of the extinct Laophis crotaloides were found in 1857, but after those specimens were lost it would be more than 150 years until more were found, and the truth behind this prehistoric monster was uncovered.

    2. Green Anaconda
The green anaconda is the world’s largest snake by its sheer weight. Measuring between 20-30 feet and weighing between 200-550 pounds, this snake is the longest and heaviest snake around today! They can be found in the freshwater streams, ponds, marshes, and swamps of the Amazon.

    1. Titanoboa
The Titanoboa was the largest snake, that we know of, to have ever lived. At more than 48 feet long, and with a weight in excess of one and a half tons, it was an absolute monster. They lived around 60 million years ago across South America, and potentially beyond, and we know of it because of a remarkably well preserved fossil that was discovered in an open pit coal mine in Colombia.

    10 BIGGEST Snakes Ever!
Snakes are very polarizing creatures; some hate them while others simply just love them. I must admit,
they do emit some sort of cold-blooded charm, hence people often keep them as pets, no matter how
gigantic they become. But I bet not even the most hardcore of snake charmers will be able to tame
number one on this list so stay tuned to find out what it is. Here are the 10 biggest snakes ever.

    Number 10. The Yurlunggur
Definitely not the biggest one on our list, but definitely one of the oldest. Believed to have slithered in
Australia 23 million years ago, Yurlunggur is a genus of fossil snakes from the extinct family Madtsoiidae.
This genus was part of Australia's extinct megafauna and contains the Yurlunggur camfieldensis species.
It is a large predator that seems to have existed in the region since the Miocene epoch. It is described as
a member of the Madtsoiidae family, which includes species like Wonambi, which you’ll get to know
more of a little bit later.
The genus name is derived from the traditional name given by the people of Arnhem Land to the
Rainbow Serpent. They were large snakes, up to 19.69 feet long and almost a foot thick, that looked
more like monitor lizards, rather than a garden variety snake.
Yurlunggur was a constrictor which means it coiled around its prey and squeezing it to death.

    Number 9. The Amethystine Python
Coming in as the ninth largest snake of all time is the amethystine python. It has been recorded at a
record length of 28 feet but more frequently at lengths of about 16 and a half feet. It is a slender python
for its size and not able to kill the large animals that its relative, the anaconda of South America, can. It is
a dull olive brown or greenish-yellow in color, but the scales have an overall amethyst iridescence, which
produces an attractive shimmering effect, especially in sunlight, making it one of the most beautiful
    snakes you’ll ever see.
This species is found in tropical rainforest and scrub forest in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Australia
    and Philippines.
Small pythons spend most time in trees. Large ones spend most of their time on the ground in mangrove
swamps, dense rainforests or along stream and rivers in scrubland. It is a good swimmer, so can travel
    by water when required.
Like most of the large pythons, amethystines feed on a variety of small mammals such as fruit bats, rats
and possums. They will also eat small and medium sized birds and occasionally even large lizards such as

Number 8. The Indian Rock Python

The Indian python comes from the forests of Nepal, Indian, Sri Lanka and Pakistan but may also be found
in rocky foothills, river valleys and scrubland. Very much a loner, this snake lives alone except during
mating season. When hunting, it often drapes itself over branches or coils up on the ground, waiting to
ambush prey. You can usually see these guys near water in areas that offer plenty of cover.
The largest Indian rock python recorded was measured at around 20 feet, but can be commonly found
at more manageable lengths of between 12 to 14 feet, still enough to land it on number 8 on our list.
They can also tip the scales at 200 pounds.
Unlike many other snakes, the Indian rock python is a very protective mother. She lays anywhere from
20 to 100 eggs about three months after breeding. She keeps them all together; when she is done laying
she curls herself around her brood to protect them for the two to three months it takes for them to
hatch. During this time, she rarely leaves them and continually twitches her muscles to generate a few
degrees of warmth for her young. The babies hatch fully formed from the leathery eggs and leave the
nest almost immediately to strike out on their own.

    Number 7. The Wonambi
At more than 20 feet long,
Wonambi was a constrictor which means that it did not use venom but instead wrapped itself around its
prey and tightened its grip so that its prey could not breathe in.
Despite its killing efficiency Wonambi probably could not tackle larger animals

Number 6. The African Rock Python 31.99
The African rock python is a large, non-venomous snake native to sub-Saharan Africa. It is one of the
largest snake species in the world, and although it rarely attacks humans, it is greatly feared. With the
largest specimen measured at 25 feet in length, it’s not hard to imagine why. On average though, they
measure at between 11 and 13 feet.
African rock pythons have a thick body covered with colored blotches, often joining up in a broad,
irregular stripe. Like all pythons, the scales of the African rock python are small and smooth.

Top 5 Biggest Snakes In The World Largest Snakes Ever Found
Giant snakes make be scary, but they are amazing in many ways. You may wonder how these creatures swallow animals that are bigger than themselves. Anyway, we always want to know more about the big snakes. Numerous historical accounts of the big snakes are reported, often of improbable sizes. The remote location of the big snakes’ habitat has historically made locating, capturing, and returning specimens difficult. A big snake’s skin can stretch substantially, increasing its size by more than 50% if stretched during the tanning process. Several zoologists (notably Henry Walter Bates and Alfred Russel Wallace, among others) note rumors of snakes beyond 30 or 40 feet (9-12 meter) long, but in each case, their direct observations were limited to snakes of approximately 20 feet (6.1 meter) in length. If you ever read at least the first book about Harry Potter, you probably remember the young wizard accidentally letting a huge snake out of its cage. That was, in fact, boa constrictor — one of the largest snakes in the world. The females of its kind can reach 14 ft in length — that’s about half as long as a famous London red bus!

Remember Kaa from The Jungle Book? Well, his prototype is the Indian python. This snake is truly huge, reaching the length of 21 ft! But what about real giants? Have you ever heard about Titanoboa? It's a close relative of a boa but so much bigger! Titanoboa lived 58-61 million years ago and it's the biggest serpent that ever existed. Its fossilized remains were discovered and measured in Colombia in 2009 and it made a sensation at the time. The gigantic snake could grow to the absolutely epic size!

  • 10 Largest Snakes In The World

From the jungles of South America to the forests of Southeast Asia, here are ten of the biggest snakes that ever lived, including a prehistoric monster of outrageous proportions!

    Subscribe to Talltanic:

    Watch Our MOST Popular Videos:

    10: Burmese Python
There are a lot of big snakes in this world of ours. And one of the largest snakes ever was a Burmese python captured in Florida back in 2012. Researchers with the United States Geological Survey in the state of Florida captured a Burmese python in the Everglades National Park that was approximately 17 feet and 7 inches long (5.4m).

    9: Reticulated Python
Back in 2016, one of the world's largest snakes was discovered at a Malaysian construction site. This enormous reticulated python measured a whopping 26.2 feet (8m) in length. That makes it larger than five grand pianos and almost as long as a giraffe standing on the head of another giraffe.

    8: African Rock Python
Pythons are the largest snakes in the world. And while the reticulated python and the Burmese python are the most famous, there is another type of python that often flies under the radar. This snake is known as the African rock python, and it's the only one of its kind that lives in Africa.

    7: Green Anaconda
The green anaconda is the biggest of all the snakes. When it comes down to it, the green anaconda is really an animal out of this world, and you have to see it to truly understand how outrageously huge it is. Anacondas are absolute monsters. Amazon folklore even places these snakes anywhere between 60 and 100 feet (18-30m).

    6: Indian Python
There seems to be a python for almost every area east of Europe. The Indian python is one of the largest snakes in the world, only smaller than the anaconda and the reticulated python. These serpents live in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Nepal, and they tend to grow to be a little over 20 feet (6m), weighing somewhere around 150 pounds(70kg).

    5: Titanoboa
The Titanoboa was the largest snake ever to roam the planet, and it makes the green anaconda look like a baby shrimp. To put it lightly, the Titanoboa was likely somewhere between 40 feet and 50 feet long (12-15m).

    4: King Cobra
The king cobra is the meanest snake in the world. It's a savage serpent with a very venomous bite, and it doesn't take any nonsense from anyone. Though definitely not the biggest or heaviest, the king cobra is indeed the longest species of venomous snake on the planet.

    3: Boa Constrictor
The boa constrictor is the cousin of the anaconda. Both these snakes are amazing swimmers, but the boa constrictor is significantly smaller than its famous relative. The poor little boa constrictor can only grow to be around 13 feet (4m) long, and it typically doesn't weigh more than 100 pounds (40kg).

    2: Olive Python
Our final python on the list for today is the olive python from Australia. Like I said earlier, it's as if every place in the world has its own special python. This particular bad boy is able to eat everything from kangaroos to possums, porcupines, and even wild crocodiles.

    1: Black Mamba
Last on the list is the black mamba. It's a far cry from the pythons and constrictors of the world, but it's still a huge snake. Not only that, but it's a snake with a reputation. It's one of the deadliest snakes in the entire world, and it's also the fastest land snake, according to Live Science.

I was intrigued by the images as well as the story. I had my own questions and wanted answers...

#1 How big can a snake get?
#2 How long can a snake live?
    And last but not least...
    Who is they?
The longest snake in the world is the reticulated python and can grow up to 30 feet long, and according to the people at Guinness World Records the record for longest snake ever in captivity goes to a python named “Medusa”

Even at 30 feet long, that's not even as long as one school bus.

Reticulated pythons live on average 15 to 20 years with some having reached 25 to 30 years old.

The story claims a specialized team of scientists and divers tracked and killed the raging reptile and as if to give the story some credence they listed some names...

They included Scientists like Drs, Karim Mohammed , Mohammed Sharif and Mr. well as specialized divers Abdullah Karim, Wael Mohammed and mahmoud Shafik.

This would not be the first time a giant reptile was claimed to be caught on film...
This pic was alleged to be taken by Belgian Helicopter pilot Col Remy Van Lierde somewhere over the Congo in 1959 at heights over 500 feet, making the snake an estimated 200 feet long.
The colonel also claimed, that when going in for a closer look the giant snake it rose up preparing to attack if the helicopter got any closer.

So is this dead, dead sea snake real or a hoax?
    A few things to consider...
When I researched these names, the only references I could find of them only lead back to the snake story on some very less than reputable news sites.

Not to mention, one of the Dr's names in the article is “Dr. Mr. Sea.”

Drawing upon extensive investigative and forensic knowledge gained by my many years of watching Law and Order and CSI, the original, not those lame copy cats..(really just did a google search). I was able to deduce that these photos and the snake are REAL!!!

These absolutely 100% real photos of this authentically dead snake began to show up in 2012 on some Persian and Arabic language web sites.

    But...they did not originate there.

They go back as far as 2010 and were originally published by some Vietnamese IT Students under the title “Vietnam Army Captured Giant Snake.”

The only thing not real in the pics were the soldiers, and military vehicles. They are in fact just the kind of really cool toys my dad never bought for me.

But the snake is real, but would be at most three feet long.

Using forced perspective and some clever positioning, these students were able to execute one of the funnest looking hoaxes I think I've ever seen.

    Sorry internets!

  • What If Megalodon Met the Biggest Snake Ever

Who would win in a fight between a Megalodon and a Titanoboa? Well, let's figure out! That would be a very unusual match. But it’d also be spectacular and intense. Okay, Megalodon! This species went extinct about 3 million years ago, but there are good reasons why it’s now a legendary animal. It's the biggest shark that ever existed, and it was a super-powerful predator in its time.

Titanoboa is way bigger than any other snake. It lived in the swamps of Colombia, and it was the real boss of the area. Titanoboa could eat absolutely any animal it decided to hunt, and it faced no competition. It could swallow a giant turtle or even a crocodile. It looked like a modern boa but behaved like an anaconda. And that's a very scary mix. But could it stop a giant shark?

15 Biggest Animals You Won’t Believe Actually Exist!

From massive creatures that look photoshopped to large animals that are beyond your imagination, we count 10 giant animals you won’t believe exist today!
    15. Giant Gippsland Earthworm

Earthworms are quite grotty when you look at them closely, but when you bump into this breed, it will be difficult to get any closer is you’re squeamish about these sorts of crawlers. The average earthworm is about a metre in length but these ones can grow three times longer and be about three inches in diameter. They can easily be confused for an adult snake. You won’t come across these creepy crawlers often, they only exists deep in the wild around Sumaco volcano.
Thought the snake-like worms are creepy, wait until you find out what lies in the deep seas! Stay tuned!
    14. Giant Freshwater Stingray

Stingrays are dangerous enough, but when you bump into one that’s more than four metres long and weighs half a tonne, then you my friend will have a big problem. These creatures are found in the deep sea and most divers were protective clothing in case they bump into one or any other of the dangerous creatures that live in the waters. Why are they feared so much? These animals are not aggressive, in fact if you meet one it will probably slither away, but, they have one of the nastiest venoms in the world and this particular oversized breed has the ability to break through your bones with its stinger.
    13. Japanese Spider Crab

The largest crab in the world and also the most expensive. It is almost four metres long when stretched out from claw to claw. They weigh triple the size of a regular crab but it is very unlikely to come across any as they live far below the water surface. To get one you’ll have to go fishing specifically for them. They need special equipment as their sharp claws can cause nasty injuries, but, it seems as though they are tasty enough to be worth the risk. If you fancy a japanese spider crab for your next meal, then head on to Okinawa and have your dreams come to life for five hundred bucks.
    12. Mydas Flies

No one likes flies. They are always on your face if not hovering around your food. Making those annoying buzzy sounds. These tiny insects can be a nuisance on their own. Now picture one that’s four times in size and a lot more stubborn. The mydas fly is what we are talking about. It can be as long as ten centimetres in length, and have a wingspan of six centimetres, but the good thing is that it’s only found in arid areas not just anywhere.
    11– Goliath Frog

Now I don’t know about you but I’m not a fan of frogs. Some people may argue they are cute and adorable but I just can’t see any of that so I prefer saying away from them. But for the purpose of entertaining you, I had to research on these massive amphibians that are rare and unique in their own way.
The Goliath frog is the world’s largest frog. It is able to grow up to 32 centimetres in length and can weigh up to four kilograms. They can only be found along the equator of Westen Africa. These creatures aren’t dangerous and can live up to the age of 21 when in captivity. They die young in the wild as they fall prey to giant lizards and crocodiles there.

  • Diver has incredible face to face encounter with giant anaconda.

A scuba diver in Brazil comes face to face with a 7-metre-long giant anaconda while exploring a river.

Filmed on July 29, Bartolomeo Bove and friend Juca Ygarape came across a huge snake lurking in the waters of the Formoso River.

The diving duo film the reptile as it inspects the camera held in front of it before slithering off across the riverbed.

The filmer, Bove, told Newsflare: The rivers and the bodies of water around the Bonito area are the only places in South America where Anacondas can be found in crystal clear waters, and therefore diving with them is possible.

As shown in the footage the anaconda swims calm and peaceful, completely indifferent to our presence, some times she comes closer curious about my camera licking the lens.

The behaviour of the anaconda debunks the myth that it is an aggressive and violent creature that can endanger people's life.

10 Biggest Animals In The World
Animals come in different shapes, sizes, and colors. From the microscopic to the 40 foot bad boys.
Whether you’re thinking of size in terms of weight, length, or whatever else, some are so undeniably
huge that they just deserve to be talked about.
This is 100M and today, we are looking at the biggest animals in the world. Make sure to hang on and
see this animal on our number one that managed to be larger than the extinct Megalodon and probably
anything else in the world, discovered or undiscovered.

    #10 Goliath frog
Alright, it seems like we are starting off by going straight for the bull’s eye. As you can tell, the goliath
frog is obviously huge. The name kind of says it all. Goliath means big, like really big. The goliath frog is
the largest frog the world has ever seen. Seriously, this thing is huge! Goliath frogs can grow as big as 12
and a half inches long and can weigh as large as 7 pounds and sometimes, even heavier.
These frogs can even grow as big as some house cats. Would you look at that? Funny enough, goliath
frogs don’t start out so big. At the tadpole stage, they are normally the same size as every other
tadpoles of an average frog. But, that’s when things get interesting. The baby frogs just keep getting
bigger and bigger. It just doesn’t stop! By the time they hit full maturity, boom, you have your gigantic
Although these frogs are quite fascinating, there is so much we don’t know about them. How long they
live, how many species there are. Nature is a fascinating thing.

    #9 Ostrich

Ostriches. Ugly-looking strange things aren’t they? These birds are the tallest and heaviest birds of all.
While it is the largest, it surprisingly cannot fly. Instead, it runs. Fast. Superfast. The ostrich can run as
fast as 70 kilometers per hour. In just one stride, this flightless bird can cover up to 16 feet which is
roughly the size of a regular family car and can keep up a speed of over 30 miles an hour for long
distances. The ostrich’s short wings work for balance when it stretches them out while running.
The ostrich has strong legs that are used for self-defense and trust me, if this thing gives you a kick, it’ll
knock the wind right out of you. An ostrich will kick with a force that’s great enough to kill a full-grown

lion. And by the way, the story about ostriches burying their heads in the sand when they’re trying to
hide is a total lie. They are not that stupid so cut them some slack.

    #8 Giraffe
If you grew up as the freakishly tall kid in class, then this name might be particularly familiar to you.
Giraffes are an example of nature’s creativity. These animals are the tallest land animals and they are so
tall that they could easily look into a window of a second-story room without stretching. Although it
would be rather odd to find a giraffe standing on its tippy-toes.
A giraffe can have a neck as long as 6 feet and can weigh as much as 600 pounds. Bear in mind friends,
that is just the neck. As most tall kids might relate, a giraffe is mostly neck and legs. Its legs are also 6
feet long with the back ones looking shorter than the front legs although they are, in fact, the same
Its heart can be about 2 feet long and can weigh about 25 pounds and its lungs can hold 12 gallons of
liquid. The animal also has a small lump on its back as a camel does, and its body is also covered with
    spots all over.
And here is an interesting bit for you to know, a giraffe’s spots are unique. They are like its fingerprints
because no two giraffes can have the same spot pattern. Soon, you might find these tallies registering
for national I.D with these fancy fingerprints, eh?

    #7 Komodo dragon

Komodo dragons can be found in the harsh climate of Indonesia’s Lesser Sunda Islands. Komodo dragons
are the largest living lizards in the world and they are identified by their massive size, flat heads, bowed
legs, and thick, long tails. Some people call them land crocodiles and they might very well be right.
Although they are technically called dragons, Daenerys Targaryen won’t be riding any of these soon. An
average male Komodo dragon can be as long as 8 or even 9 feet but they sometimes grow as long as 10
feet. Females grow as long as 6 feet.
Komodo dragons do not usually attack humans. In fact, komodo dragon attacks are quite rare. They only
go AWOL when their safe space is invaded. Which, quite frankly, is overrated. You would be pretty
agitated if someone came trampling all over your natural habitat. All of them come in various colors like
blue, green, orange, and very commonly, gray. If you do come across a komodo dragon, do the world a
favor and name it Viserion but don’t hold your breath, it definitely won’t breathe fire.

  • 15 BIGGEST Snake Species In The WORLD!

A countdown of the largest and longest snakes on Earth! From the Green Anaconda to the King Cobra these are the world's most terrifyingly huge snake species!

#15. “Black Mamba”- Dwelling in the rocky hills and savannas of southern and eastern Africa the Black Mamba is one of the deadliest snakes in the world and one of the largest. What it lacks in girth it makes up for in length. This venomous aggressor can be anywhere from 7 to 14 feet long while weighing a skinny 3 and a half pounds. This long sleek design allows the Black Mamba to travel up to 12.5 miles per hour, which is used to evade predators. They feast on chickens, bats, bushbabies, sometimes even cobras and are known to be one of the snakes most hostile towards humans. The Black Mamba can live up to 11 years and gets it’s name from the dark blue inside of its mouth that appears black to prey.
#14. “Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake”- The biggest Rattlesnake in the world the Eastern Diamond Rattlesnake makes its home in southeastern coastal plain of the United States. It can weigh over 10 pounds and is 3 to 6 feet long on average while the longest ever found was 8 feet long. Though they usually are found in dryer areas, they are amazing swimmers and can be found on islands off the coast due to this prowess. You may recognize the Eastern Diamondback from the Gadsden Flag which featured the “Don’t Tread on Me” moniker and was one of the first flags of the United States. The Diamondback’s diet consists mainly of rabbits and small mammals. Their average lifespan is 15 to 20 years though they are rarely found over the age of ten due to hunting and other human interference.
#13. “Eastern Indigo Snake”-Found in the southeastern part of the country, the Eastern Indigo Snake is the longest non-venomous snake in the United States. Weighing up to 11 pounds, the longest ever found was just over 9 feet long. When the Eastern Indigo Snake is under attack it vibrates its tail and hisses trying to mimic a rattlesnake in hopes of being mistaken for its venomous kin. They are also mostly immune to the venom of rattlesnakes who they sometimes feed on. Their diet consists of turtles, frogs, birds, eggs and small mammals which they via smacking the animal on rocks, trees or the ground and then swallowing whole. The Eastern Indigo Snake can live up to 21 years in the wild and goes by many different colloquial nicknames such as: blue indigo snake, blue bull snakes, black snake and the blue gopher snake.
#12. “Inland and Coastal Taipans” - Two of the biggest snakes in Australia are closely related, the Inland Taipan and Coastal Taipan. The Inland Taipan lives in the eastern part of the Australian Outback and can grow up to 8 feet long and weigh up to 22 pounds on average. The Inland Taipan is regarded as the most venomous land snake in the world with a venom 50 times more powerful than that of a cobra, one bite from an Inland Taipan is enough to kill a human 100 times over. The longer, less hefty Coastal Taipan slithers throughout the northern coast of Australia and southern New Guinea. The Coastal Taipan has an average weight of 10 pounds and length of anywhere between 4 feet at its shortest and 10 feet at its longest. The Coastal Taipan is the third most venomous land snake in the world and is known for having the longest fangs of any snake measuring over half an inch long. Both of the Taipans have diet of rats and mice and live from 10-15 years.

World’s 10 Biggest Animals of all Time

Welcome back to another video about animals! We just can’t get enough of them and there are always new things to learn about the animal kingdom. Whether big or small, scary or cute, passive or aggressive, animals can be studied in many different ways, so I hope you’re ready to learn more about them.

In today’s video I’ll be introducing you to the World’s “10 Biggest Animals of All Time” Maybe you’ve already watched the video about the 10 biggest animals in the world, and if you haven’t - you should check it out! But today’s video will focus on the ten biggest animals of all time, which means, we will include animals that are already extinct - at least that’s what we believe! Stay with me all the way to number one and find out if the biggest animal of all time is one that still exists today or perhaps a new one.

    Let’s begin.

I think some of you were surprised when the elephant wasn’t included in the world’s biggest animals! Well, today I’m giving you something bigger than the elephant. And it’s not the mamut. I’m talking about the paraceratherium, which holds the title of being the largest land mammal that has ever lived. They were about 7 meters tall, which makes them taller than modern day giraffes, and they weighed between thirty-three and forty-four thousand pounds. This makes them almost three times heavier than the heaviest elephants we have today. Just like elephants, they were not an immediate threat to other animals or humans because they were herbivores. But with a size that big, I’m sure they were intimidating and kept predators at a distance. It seems like they went extinct when the landscapes in Central Asia started to transform, making it hard for the paraceratherium to find the means to survive. I wonder what it would have been like to see one of these in the wild. I’m sure we would have been able to spot them from very far away.

    Whale Shark

And here is one that we previously saw on the biggest animals in the world: The Whale Shark.
So let me refresh (or introduce you to) some facts about this impressive animal. First of all, the whale shark is the largest fish in the world! That’s right, although its name implies otherwise, this animal is not a whale, but it’s a fish. The name is a reference to its massive size and if you haven’t seen one yet, you’d probably think it’s a whale. They can reach a size of 14 meters long and can weigh up to 41,000 pounds. They are known for having long lives, some of them make it to 150 years!

With their enormous size, they could easily reign in the underwater world - especially when they move across the major oceans. However, they’re filter feeders, which means that they mainly eat plankton and small fish that get caught in their big mouths. They are quite friendly and sometimes they can be spotted swimming with humans!

While the whale shark is the largest fish in today’s world, it is not the largest fish in history! There’s a fish that was larger and that’s the leedsichthys, but it’s actually not far from the size of whale sharks. Earlier estimates stated that a leedsichthys could be about 27 meters long. However, later studies have shown that they might have been only 16 meters long, which is still a bit bigger than the whale sharks, but not for that much. Also, they were heavier, weighing about 43,000 pounds. And just like the whale shark, the leedsichthys was also a filter feeder, eating plankton, shrimp, jellyfish and any small creature that got stuck in its mouth. I wish we had the leedsichthys today, but at least we still have the whale shark, which is close enough!

  • LARGEST Animals Ever Recorded!

From the biggest of the big cats, to the biggest snakes, to the biggest sea creatures that have ever been caught! Join me as I reveal to you 10 of the biggest animals that have been recorded!

    Subscribe For New Videos!

    10. Lolong
This is the story about a crocodile, one of the largest ever caught, and for this story we go to the Philippines, where they somehow caught a massive saltwater crocodile that they eventually named Lolong. Not so ironically, Lolong is not only the longest crocodile ever caught, but it's also the heaviest.

    9. Japanese Spider Crab
These appropriately named spider crabs are not only creepy but they can be the size of your car!! The Japanese Spider Crab is the largest arthropod in the world with long spindly legs and disproportionate body, they can grow to be over 12 feet long and weigh up to 44 pounds. They can be found usually in the deep sea off of the coast of Japan so don’t worry, unless you are deep sea fishing or hanging around at 2000 feet below sea level, you should be ok!

    8. Liger
There are many animals in the world that have been created by humans, and would never exist naturally in the wild. One of the most abnormally large creatures to come from this kind of breeding is known as the Liger. Yes, Liger, as in Lion + Tiger. In this particular case a male lion mating with a female tiger. You might think that this kind of fusion is made up, or something from fairy tales, but it's very real.

    7. Continental Giant Rabbit
The Continental Giant, also known as the German Giant, is a very large breed of rabbit which was originally bred for meat. They are one of the largest breeds of rabbits in the world. However, all Giant breeds have originally derived from the Flemish Giant, founded in Flanders, Belgium in the late 1800’s. Giant rabbits usually weigh around 15 pounds

    6. Giant Squid
Squids are often considered one of the more mysterious creatures of the ocean due to the fact that they often live deep in the waters and they don't make it to the surface that often. So much so that there's a lot of debate about just how big some of these species can get. The biggest one that has been recorded though was a Giant Squid, one that was measured at 43 feet in length, and based on estimations of the body showed that it weighed just about a ton.

    5. Ostrich
The Ostrich is officially the largest bird on Earth in terms of body size and height. Which I'm sure will not come as a surprise to many because it's one of the few birds in the world today that can't fly. (Probably because of its massive size).

    4. Zeus The Dog
One of the many wondrous things about dogs is that they come in all shapes, sizes, fur types, and personalities. Truly making it a species that can find an owner no matter what they're looking for, but if you're curious about the dog that literally towers over all others, that would be the Great Dane known as Zeus.

    3. Reticulated Python
Not unlike sharks, there have been MANY claims as to what the longest snake ever recorded was that is still alive on this Earth. However, both in terms of average size and recorded size, that distinction goes to the Reticulated Python.

    2. Great White Shark
The Great White Shark is one of the most feared sharks in the world today, and one of the many myths about it is that the Great White is the biggest shark around. It's not, but it is THE biggest predatory shark in the world. Although their size is up for debate.

    1. Blue Whale
When it comes to the biggest animal on Earth, that title would go to the Blue Whale. The blue whale is the biggest animal that has existed on Earth EVER so you should feel honored that we are around at the same time as they are !! The Blue Whale species in particular completely dwarfs all other whales in the world (obviously).

  • Worlds LARGEST Snakes EVER

You WON'T BELIEVE how giant, and scary black mamba and python get to; These are the WORLD'S LARGEST Snakes !

    Let's Connect

    Scrub Python

Australia's largest native snake is thankfully and somewhat surprisingly non venomous. Snake enthusiasts prize the scrub python for its beautiful coloration and sheer mass. As you can see from this one slithering through a home in Queensland they get really long, some reports state up to twenty seven feet in length. As is the case with many serpent species, females tend to be much larger than males. While males only weigh in at around eleven pounds females typically weigh around three times as much. They’re also found on many Indonesian islands. A typical scrub python diet consists of small mammals like birds, possums and even bats. When people find in tact sheddings they’re often tricked into thinking the snake must have been the length of the shed skin. In fact, the snake is significantly shorter than its shed skin. The skin folds on top of and below each of the animals scales causing it to be much longer.

    Boa Constrictor

Younger boa’s are adventurous, they like to climb trees and get into shrubs to forage. But as with humans age dulls this child like nature. As they mature and become heavier they turn into completely terrestrial beings. Though they are found throughout the Americas it's interesting to note that those from Central America are known to be more irritable; hissing loudly and menacingly while striking over and over when they’re bothered. Their very solitary creatures, preferring to live alone and only seek the company of fellow boas when they want to mate, again a characteristic that they share with many of us humans.

    Yellow Anaconda

Though it's smaller than the green anaconda, a close relative the yellow anaconda, with an average length of 11 to 14 feet is still one of the world’s largest serpents. Like all boa species the yellow anaconda doesn’t have venom and strangles the life out of it's prey. It's found in southern South America in Paraguay, southern Brazil, northern Argentina and Bolivia. There’s also a small population that’s been introduced in Florida, though no one’s sure if that group reproduces. Experts surmise that this latter population came from escaped pets. Oddly this makes the Yellow Anaconda the second species of snake on this list along with the Burmese Python to accidentally be introduced to the state of Florida. But did we really need that information to know that weird stuff goes down in Florida?

On that note we’d like to thank all of our loyal subscribers including and especially the one’s from Florida for joining us on our journey through some of the planet's most ridiculously large snakes. We’re sure you're opinion of the creatures didn’t change but hopefully you enjoyed and learned something new from the video. Farewell and be careful out there.

    Black Mamba

The head of the black mamba snake resembles a coffin, a foreboding image that could also act as foreshadowing for anyone who gets close enough to discern its shape. One of Africa’s longest snakes with specimens growing close to 15 feet long is also one of it's most venomous. In one test toxin found in black mamba venom killed a mouse in under five minutes. For humans, the venom can cause collapse in less time than it takes to watch an episode of Game of Thrones. Without effective antivenom therapy, it's lights out in half a day. The snake can lunge from surprising distances to attack, and strikes with great speed and accuracy sometimes biting repeatedly in quick succession. Speaking of speed, some think that the black mamba is the fastest moving snake on the planet. Myths saying it's faster than a galloping horse or a sprinting human are exaggerated, but estimates that it can travel at an impressive clip of 10 miles per hour for short distances are likely accurate.

  • BIGGEST Snakes On Earth!

These are the largest boas, pythons, and anacondas found anywhere on the planet. From the Pythons of the Eastern Hemisphere to the Anacondas of the West

    #11 King Cobra
While it may not come close to being the heaviest snake around, the majestic King Cobra is most definitely among the longest. This hooded native of nations like India, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka grows between 10 and 13 feet in length typically, but one specimen measured in at more than 19 feet! It makes use of its extreme length to swallow its main prey of other snakes, earning its namesake as the king of the snakes.
    #10 Cuban Boa
The Cuban Boa is native to its island namesake, making its home in the tropical forests of Cuba and some surrounding islands. With a maximum recorded length of just over 13 feet, and a weight of 59 and a half pounds, these green, brown, and iridescent scaled constrictors are fearsome to behold. More terrorizing than their size, though, are their hunting tactics. When prowling caves for a meal, Cuban boas will synchronize their placement atop a cavern, latching onto the rocky roof. As bats take flight for the evening, the waiting boa will strike at what it can, sending other bats scattering in opposing directions. Other boas looking to feast will place themselves at points where they can cut off the fleeing bats, taking their pick of the flock as the panicked prey seeks sanctuary. Cuban boas are the only species of snake to demonstrate this level of pack hunting unity to date.
    #9 Dark-Spotted Anaconda
Found in the South American regions of French Guiana [gee-ah-nah] and northeastern Brazil, the Dark-Spotted Anaconda is nowhere near the size of its green cousin, but large among snakes nonetheless. This snake slithers through the swampy freshwaters near the mouth of the Amazon River with a powerful body growing up to nearly ten feet in length. This species is said to be powered by an average sixty six pounds of muscle, but data on the species proves to be scarce. These semi-aquatic anacondas can terrorize the swamps for decades, with an average lifespan of more than 23 years in captivity. And as seasonal downpours flood their forest home, the dark-spotted anaconda thrives as its preferred hunting ground expands exponentially!

  • Giant Snake

In 2002, villagers in a remote part of Indonesia caught this gigantic python - which measures a massive 7 meters (23 feet) in length.
