  • 10 Scientifically Impossible Places That Actually Exist

    11:00

The Seven Wonders of the Natural World may have been named too quickly. Wonders like The Grand Canyon and Victoria Falls are certainly big, and anyone who sees them will surely be impressed—but sheer size isn’t enough to truly leave a person in awe.
There are other places in this world, though, that are far stranger. Places that seem almost alien, as if they could only exist on a planet that evolved separately from our own. These are places that scientists have had to struggle just to understand how they ever could have been formed. Places that will truly make you wonder—not just because they’re beautiful, but because they seem to follow scientific laws that don’t exist anywhere else on earth. Here are 10 Scientifically Impossible Places That Actually Exist

  • 11 STRANGEST Natural Phenomena In The World!

    11. Devil’s Kettle
On the easternmost tip of Minnesota, not far from Lake Superior and the US-Canadian Border, the Brule River drops 800 feet in an 8-mile span. At one point, the river splits into two. One side flows down into a normal, respectable waterfall. The other disappears into a hole in the ground and no one knows what happens after that. People call this area Devil’s Kettle Falls.

    10. PERMAFROST EXPLOSIONS
In both the Arctic and Antarctic circles, there are different kinds of ice layers. There’s the standard ice that we’re all familiar with, but underneath that, is a layer of soil that stays frozen year-round called permafrost, and it’s very difficult to work around. For example, when gold miners in the Yukon or Alaska hit a layer of permafrost, thawing it out is an expensive, time-consuming, and specialized process. But we gotta get to that gold!!

    9. DARVAZA GAS CRATER
Nicknamed the “Door to Hell,” the Darvaza gas crater was formed in 1971 in what is now Turkmenistan. At the time, the area was under Soviet leadership, who scanned the land for resources. A pocket of methane gas was discovered, so the government set up a drilling station to harvest it.

    8. LENTICULAR CLOUDS
Clouds are very diverse, and lenticular clouds are one of the most peculiar types of cloud. Lenticular clouds are stationary, lens-shaped clouds that form among the high altitudes of the troposphere. Their shape and size often dwarves those of other clouds, giving them a perfectly-sculpted, deliberate look.

    7. BIOLUMINESCENCE
Put simply, bioluminescence is the ability of a living organism to produce and emit light and for a long time scientists were confused as to why this phenomenon existed. At first, this trait was only thought to be possessed by fish who live in deep, dark parts of the ocean.

    6. CHRISTMAS ISLAND RED CRABS
Christmas Island is located in the Indian Ocean, and features one of the world’s most unique annual crab migrations. The island’s red crab population usually lives in the forest, but every year at the beginning of the wet season, which is usually during October or November, they travel en masse to the beach, where they mate and lay eggs. Males arrive first and dig burrows.

    5. Light Pillars
Light pillars are an optical phenomenon caused when flat, hexagonal ice crystals refract lights. These lights tend to take on the color of the light source and are usually produced by streetlights. However, any light source, under the right conditions, can create a light pillar.

    4. THE SPOTTED LAKE
Canada is home to a fascinating lake that looks like any other body of water for most of the year, but during the summer, everything changes. The appropriately-named Spotted Lake, which is also nicknamed “Canada’s most magical lake,” is located northwest of Osoyoos in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley.

    3. FROST FLOWERS
Ice is typically a mere cold substance that can be annoying if you slip on it, save for its occasional useful purposes for things like ice cubes and skating rinks. Especially creative people may see more potential in ice than the average person and create beautiful sculptures and even buildings out of large blocks of it.

    2. AURORA BOREALIS
The Northern Lights are one of the most well-known phenomena on Earth - it’s on many people’s list of places to go before you die because of its sheer beauty and mystery. This extraordinary light show occurs when the sun releases electrically charged particles, which collide with gases like oxygen and nitrogen when they enter the Earth’s atmosphere.

    1. Volcanic Lightning
Active volcanoes are one of the most dangerous natural phenomena on Earth. Throughout the world, there are islands, cities, and regions that are constantly on edge because of a nearby active volcano.

10 most wonderful natural phenomena in the world

Our planet is filled to the brim with astonishing natural beauty, from stunning white sand
beaches to the spectacular mountains. So, there is absolutely no doubt that the earth is a
wonderful place, but certain things are very different from other and can truly stop us in our
tracks. And it might be hard to believe that these marvels actually exist! At the mouth of the
Catatumbo River in Venezuela, a lightning storm lasts up to 10 hours per night offering an
electrifying light show for any onlookers. If you’ve ever dreamt of wandering through the
clouds, you should book your next trip to Bolivia where the salt flats of Salar de Uyuni create a
mesmerizing reflection of the sky. That being said, here are the 10 most wonderful natural
    phenomena in the world.

    10) Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia
This one is for those who have always wanted to touch the sky but have been caged in by their
fear of heights. The world’s largest mirror image of the sky can be found on the salt flats
of Bolivia. Over here it is as though boundaries between the land and the sky have been
blurred, as the horizon becomes swallowed by the wild blue yonder. It was created a long long
time ago from the combination of multiple ancient lakes; in present day it draws people
towards it from far and wide who come to marvel at its reflection. For most of the year, Salar
De Uyuni remains a sparkling white desert of salt; however when the seasonal flooding takes
place the flats transform into a place where it feels as though you are walking amongst clouds.
This breathtaking wonder of nature draws photographers and travelers alike to capture what is
considered by some to be the photo opportunity of a lifetime.

    9) Hierapolis Pamukkale, Turkey
Pamukkale city is also known as Cotton Castle, a fitting name for this glorious site in
southwestern Turkey. Terraces, travertine, and hot springs were created by carbonate
minerals over centuries, leftover by streaming, calcite-weighty waters derived from a nearly
700-foot cliff overlooking the plain. The landscape is unbelievable, almost unreal in its purity
and severe whiteness. Terraced basins, mineral forests, and a collection of petrified waterfalls
cover the terrain, birthing the look that contributed to its name. The Hierapolis thermal spas,
are a part of this natural phenomenon, and were constructed during the end of the 2nd century
BC in the Attalids dynasty. The Byzantine and Roman spa city, Hieropolis is one of the most
mesmerizing ruins in Turkey, well protected and preserved by its UNESCO status.

    8) Wisteria Tunnel, Japan
At just a six hour travel from Tokyo lies the city of Kitakyushu where the Kawachi Fuji Garden
astounds tourists. Swaths of gorgeous Wisteria, ranging from more than 20 unique species,
flower here between April and May. This is one of the only places you can stroll through
fabulous gardens and then move on to stroll through a tunnel of variegated purples, plums,
whites, and lilacs, all intensely bursting with color, forming a breath taking natural setting. This
magical setting reaches its peak in April, which is the best time to visit, but it’s still spectacular
anytime during the season (the garden itself is private and does require a fee for entry). The
tunnel is covered with the different Wisteria species, which are draped over a large, arching
trellis while underneath the grass is a lush green, creating a passage completely enveloped in
flora. If this doesn’t feel like a heavenly setting, nothing will.

    7) Glowworm caves, New Zealand
Guided tours have been taking place at the Glowworm Caves in New Zealand’s Waitomo
region since the 1800s and there’s little wonder why. Inside the caves, lies the enchanting spot
known as the Glowworm Grotto that has garnered attention from all over the world and is a
legendary attraction in New Zealand. Across the walls and ceilings of the caves, a starry glow
is ignited by innumerable glowworms, a species exclusive to New Zealand and measuring the
size of a regular mosquito. Over 30 million years ago, the Waitomo legend started with the
formation of limestone in the ocean’s deepest reaches. Now, these limestone creations have
become known as one of the most inspirational and incredible natural wonders on the planet.
Professional guides lead trips into the cave, where visitors are quietly headed across the
cave’s waters where the full view comes into sight. The glowworms dot the caves while their
silks hang down from the ceilings like stringy luminous decorations.

  • 11 Most Dangerous Natural Phenomena

    14:34

From fire tornadoes, to hordes of deadly locusts, here are 11 of the most dangerous natural phenomena!

    Subscribe to Epic Wildlife

    11: Volcanic Lightning
Imagine two of the deadliest natural phenomena working together. As if being scorched alive by lava while being suffocated by volcanic ash was not bad enough already, you can also get struck by lightning at the same time. This is a phenomenon known as volcanic lightning, which can happen when a volcano erupts.

    10: Fire Tornados
While we're mixing up natural disasters, how about a firestorm and a tornado twisted into one deadly cyclone of hellfire? These are one of nature's most impressive phenomena. Witnessing a full-sized fire tornado is like witnessing an angry genie raging out of control, burning everything in sight and leaving absolute devastation in its wake.

    9: Ice Spikes
Ice spikes are not the most dangerous natural phenomenon to ever occur on our planet, but I certainly would not want to fall on a bed of jagged ice daggers. This natural occurrence happens generally in high-altitude areas where the environment is dry and cold, most famously in the Atacama Desert of Chile. And while I call them ice spikes, the scientific name for these dangerous formations is “penitentes.”

    8: Locusts
When people think about natural phenomena, they are always thinking about volcanoes and hurricanes, landslides and avalanches – but what about the insect scourge that has been killing people for centuries, you know, the thing you never hear about on the news? Mosquitoes have killed more people than anything else ever in the history of the world, roughly 50 billion lives since humankind started wandering around.

    7. Lenticular Clouds
Lenticular clouds get their name from their lens or saucer-like shape, which also explains their nickname “flying saucer clouds”. In fact, they are sometimes mistaken for UFOs. Other nicknames for lenticular clouds include “cloud ships”, “clouds of heaven”, and “lennies”.

    6: Methane in the Ice
It is no secret by now that methane is incredibly dangerous. Methane gas comes from underground and releases greenhouse gas into the atmosphere. Not only is this incredibly dangerous to our environment since it’s a potent greenhouse gas, but one of the biggest extinction events in the history of the planet was caused by massive amounts of methane leaking into the atmosphere.

    5: Warm Water Blob
The warm water blob or “the blob” for short is partly a natural phenomenon and partly human influenced. Think of the ocean as a well-controlled environment where temperatures remain the same and all life thrives in a closed circuit. Essentially, the circle of life. Now what happens when a giant blob of overheated water invades the controlled environment?

    4: Sinkholes
Sinkholes are a terrifying phenomenon. Picture this: you're at home watching TV, enjoying a nice beverage, feet up on the couch and not a worry in the world, and then a giant crater opens underneath your house and swallows you into the dark abyss of the underground. Sure, that seems a little dramatic, but that is exactly what a sinkhole is.

    3: Wind & Water, Hurricanes & Tsunamis
Cyclones, typhoons, hurricanes, and tsunamis are some of the most intense natural phenomena that occur on our planet, and they do so on a regular basis. It is hard to find one place in the world that is not currently under threat by extreme winds and water. Every coastal city on Earth is in danger of being destroyed by the power of the wind and sea.

    2: Volcanos
This should come as no surprise to anyone. Volcanoes are nature's most prevalent danger. Why? Because we see them all the time, towering over our cities and looming ominously on the horizon like the infernal Mount Doom. Volcanos have proved time and time again that they are not to be taken lightly, seemingly spitting up molten hot lava whenever they feel inclined.

    1: Ice Age
One of the greatest natural phenomena is the Ice Age. I'm not saying we're about to enter an ice age, but it is a natural part of the Earth’s cycle. The last one was about 12,000 years ago, when massive sheets of ice covered all of Canada, Northern United States, Northern Europe and Northern Asia.

  • 23 Scary Natural Phenomena Happening Somewhere Right Now

    10:10

Fire tornadoes, tiny algae that destroy sea mammals, birds, and turtles as well as creatures that feed on them, and bubbles that underwater volcanoes produce even while they’re sleeping are some of the scariest natural phenomena are happening somewhere right now. It seems that modern science has an explanation for everything that happens around us. But as it turns out, nature has a lot of other tricks up its sleeve.

For example, when frozen methane in the Siberian permafrost melts, it transforms into gas and boom – there’s eventually so much of it the ground explodes! It leaves behind huge craters, changing the eco-system of tundra. And no one knows when it’s going to pass the “point of no return.” So, let's take a look at the most amazing and scary natural phenomena and anomalies. Some of then still can’t be explained by scientists.

Majestic mountains and sparkling seas always attract travelers but sometimes nature has a bigger
trick up her sleeve. There are places in this world, that are far stranger. Places that seem almost
alien, as if they could only exist on a planet that evolved separately from our own. These are
places that scientists have had to struggle just to understand how they even got there, let alone
explain them. these places are not just beautiful sometimes, but because they seem to follow
scientific laws that don’t exist anywhere else on earth. Here is a list of ten places in the world
that science cannot explain. These places will truly make you wonder and think that The Seven
Wonders of the Natural World may have been named too quickly. But before we get into that
don’t forget to subscribe to our channel.
    Number 10.) boiling lake
Starting off with one of the weirdest but natural phenomenon out there. Almost in the center of
the Morne Trois Pitons National Park which is in the southeast of the Caribbean island of
Dominica, is one of the strongest points on the planet. There is a boiling lake whose huge gray
fumarole attracts many of the tourists to this point. At 200 feet wide, the "boiling lake" is
considered the second largest spring in the world, second only to the Frying Pan of New Zealand.
But this one is so mysterious that no much has been known about it. Yet it attracts a lot of
tourists. This boiling lake condition could be because it is a hydrothermal volcano and along with
other geysers in the area give fame to the nearby Desolation Valley, one of the most easily
explored volcano areas in the Caribbean. The sulfurous gases of the boiling lake, the vapors of
the springs and the jungle-like landscape of the park give the place a typical atmosphere of
mystery. Due to its unique characteristics, the Morne Trois Pitons National Park was declared a
World Heritage Site in 1997. And rightly so.

    Number 9.) Green flash
The sea wonder of green flashes happens during nightfall and dawn. It is a natural phenomenon
which puzzle many people. Normally observed for just two or three seconds, such green flashes
are the aftereffect of the common prism-like effect of the air of the earth. During dusk and dawn,
the light cast by the sun gets turned into numerous hues, which is seen by the transmitting of the
green glimmer and flashes. These can be seen from a distance and appear to be glowing as well.
These flashes may only come in the line of your vision for a few seconds but it can leave an
everlasting impact on you. The green flash is the name of an uncommon and fascinating optical
marvel where a green spot or blaze is noticeable at the top edge of the sun at dawn or dusk. It is
also said that this green flash may likewise be seen with other heavenly bodies, for example, the
Moon, Venus, and Jupiter. These flashes are clearly visible to the naked eye like lightning and
can even be photographed. Just imagine the lightening you witness but in color.
Number 8.) the never-ending lightning storm
In Western Venezuela over the Catatumbo River, there is something that you will have never
heard before. A storm that never ends. We know how that sounds, the first time you listen to that.
Starting at 7:00 PM every night, lightning crashes over the water for ten hours every night, 260
nights each year. Nobody knows for sure why it happens. Up until recently, the leading theory
was that it had something to do with uranium in the bedrock, although scientists are starting to
doubt it. Today, the leading theory is a complicated one. It posits that the shape of the mountains
causes warm winds to collide with cold air from the Andes. That collision is then fueled by the
rapidly evaporating water below and methane from a nearby oil field. Nobody actually knows for

sure, why it happens. Everything about is mysterious and creepy including one moment, in 2010,
when it inexplicably stopped. One day, the storm just died down without explanation, and
seemed to be over. Then, after 6 weeks of silence, it sparked up again, and has been raging ever
since. Would you want to live in a place where you there is lightning forever?
Number 6.) frozen methane bubble lake
They look like flying saucers that dropped into the water and froze, or ancient, ice-condensed
jellyfish. These icy circles are frozen methane bubbles, that are pockets of gas that, when trapped
underwater and frozen, form a spectacular landscape. They are found in high northern latitude
lakes like Lake Abraham in Alberta, Canada. For a long time, the phenomenon was very
shocking to even the scientists but then it was explained, after a lot of research.

You must have heard about the seven wonders of the world, but have you ever thought about the
other wonders that go unnoticed? The world has so much to offer, we might actually be
ungrateful. There are places so strange and breathtaking that even scientists don’t have any
explanation for them. and even a scientist cannot explain something, he says it is fake. There are
many places and natural phenomena that people think are fake, because they are just too strange.
But we are here to tell you that they are very real. So let’s look at 10 incredible natural
phenomena that you think are fake. But before w get into that, don’t forget to subscribe.
    Number 10.) The Giant’s Causeway
Starting with one of the weirdest sites. If you think it isn’t real, then you are in for a surprise. The
Giant's Causeway is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns. Causeway Coast is a
spectacular area of global geological importance on the sea coast at the edge of the Antrim
plateau in Northern Ireland. It lies at the foot of the basalt cliffs along the sea coast on the edge
of the Antrim plateau in Northern Ireland. Sixty million years ago a huge volcanic eruption
spewed out a mass of molten basalt, which then solidified and contracted as it cooled, creating
the cracks that can be seen today. There are an estimated 37,000 polygon columns at this World
Heritage Site, so geometrically perfect that local legend has it they were created by a giant. The
dramatic sight has inspired legends of giants striding over the sea to Scotland. Geological studies
of these formations over the last 300 years have greatly contributed to the development of the
    earth sciences.
    Number 9.) The Fog Tsunami

From the start, this amazing sight resembles a huge tsunami rolling in from the sea, yet it's really
a gigantic measure of mist and fog. At the point when conditions are perfect in pre-summer or
late-spring, the buildup from warm air converging with cool seawater can make this sensational
impact. From far away, it may look like a tsunami but up close you will be able to note that it's
just a huge roll of fog. These can be harmful only if you see on approaching and head into it, as
you will be clueless about your whereabouts and directions. Other than that this is completely
harmless and is a wondrous phenomenon if you ever get to experience one.
    Number 8.) Taal Lake
This one is a particular sight for sore eyes. But as we said, do not be fooled by the beauty of
these lakes. Taal is one of the 3 biggest lakes in the Philippines, and the volcanic crater was
formed some 500,000 years ago. This is a lake which is inside a volcano which has another
volcano inside, with a lake inside and in the middle of that lake there is a little island. So, what
could be so devastating and horrifying about it? How about the fact that in 1911, approximately
1,300 people lost their lives during the volcanic eruption from inside the lake. Tsunamis swept
the coasts near the lake and the land was destroyed. Taal is one of the most carefully monitored
seismic locations in the Philippines, but does this stop people from building houses near it? Hell
NO! The real estate market seems to be booming. During the volcanic eruption at the beginning
of this year, the authorities acted fast and evacuated the population.
    Number 7.)Boiling lake
This lake is so unreal that scientists are still scratching their head trying to complete the mystery
of this lake. Almost in the center of the Morne Trois Pitons National Park which is in the
southeast of the Caribbean island of Dominica, is one of the strongest points on the planet. There

is a boiling lake whose huge gray fumarole attracts many of the tourists to this point. At 200 feet
wide, the "boiling lake" is considered the second largest spring in the world, second only to the
Frying Pan of New Zealand. But this one is so mysterious that no much has been known about it.
Yet it attracts a lot of tourists. This boiling lake condition could be because it is a hydrothermal
volcano and along with other geysers in the area give fame to the nearby Desolation Valley, one
of the most easily explored volcano areas in the Caribbean. The sulfurous gases of the boiling
lake, the vapors of the springs and the jungle-like landscape of the park give the place a typical
atmosphere of mystery. Due to its unique characteristics, the Morne Trois Pitons National Park
was declared a World Heritage Site in 1997. And rightly so.
    Number 6.) Thor’s well
Sitting on the edge of the Oregon coast near Cape Perpetua, a gaping, seemingly bottomless
sinkhole swallows the unbroken stream of seawater around it. Thor’s Well is not actually
bottomless, but it is very dangerous.

Since the very beginning of recorded history, mankind has been mystified by the natural phenomena our world has to offer. We have struggled to come to terms with these incredibly complex events, and initially prescribed supernatural explanations to them. Before science, how else could we have come to grasp such mystical events? Have you ever wondered how a tornado over the ocean might have formed? Or how about the mysterious sailing stones of Death Valley, California that seem to travel great distances all on their own? Or how about mysterious Hessdalen Lights that come and go in the night skies over Norway? While it may be surprising to believe, all of these occurrences and more all trace their origins to ultimately simple, scientific explanations. Over the years, scientists have relentlessly cracked away at the mysteries of these phenomena like the rolling Snow Donuts of the north, to the mystical equatorial green flashes that have inspired all sorts of Pirate lore. Yes, it’s true! While spirituality and mysticism have helped our race over the eons as a method of building communities, we have finally begun to learn the truth behind the natural phenomena that inspired it in the first place. Through the advent of modern science and advanced technology, researchers have slowly begun to peel back the veil on these once unexplainable events. Humanity has finally gained a vantage point into realms and wisdoms once believed to be the territory of the gods themselves. In this video expose, we explore these mysterious phenomena and explain their mechanisms in an entertaining, straightforward way. Here are ten Mysterious Phenomena, Finally Explained!
