  • SpaceX Starship SN6 150m Hop Test Flight ???? Live AUGUST 30 SCRUB

    1:16:13

Starship SN6, equipped with a single Raptor engine (SN29), will attempt a hop at SpaceX's development and launch site at Boca Chica, Texas. The test article will rise to a maximum altitude of about 150 meters and translate a similar distance downrange to the landing pad. The flight should last approximately one minute and follow a trajectory very similar to Starhopper's 150 meter hop in August of 2019, and to the more recent SN5 150m hop. The Raptor engine is offset slightly from the vehicle's vertical axis, so some unusual motion is to be expected as SN6 lifts off, reorients the engine beneath the vehicle's center of mass, and lands. SN6 has six legs stowed inside the skirt which will be deployed in flight for landing. The exact launch time may not be known until just a few minutes before launch, and will be preceded by a local siren about 10 minutes ahead of time.

    This attempt was scrubbed.

  • SpaceX Starship Super Heavy Booster to start soon, SN6 flight shortly and Delta IV Heavy Abort

    17:38

Sign up to Curiosity Stream for just $14.99/year! Around a few frustrating delays, we have a lot to talk about. Starship Super Heavy Booster build to start soon according to Elon's recent tweets. We had the Delta IV Heavy Abort just hours ago and hopefully an SN6 flight shortly This week we have lots to share yet again on SpaceX’s starship development from Boca Chica Texas. Much more information on the super-heavy launch pad and we are of course gearing up for the launch of Starship serial number 6. We had an interesting abort just hours ago with the attempted flight of the Delta IV Heavy from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Some updates on the James Webb Space Telescope. And SpaceX may very well be flying back to back Falcon 9’s on the next Starlink mission and SAOCOM1B mission on Sunday depending on range approval (although Delta IV heavy may cause issues with this plan).

  • SN6 Static Fire with Thermal Time lapse

    2:08

08.23.2020 SpaceX Boca Chica has completed a static fire with SN6. No issues seemed to have occurred but it did take three tries. Thermal time lapse shows thermal exchanges on the vehicle. Thermal imagery provided by CrowBit.

All images are explicitly owned by LabPadre Media and may not be used without written consent.

  • Watch SpaceXs StarHopper attempt to hop 20 meters untethered!

    4:5:27

(UPDATE) - the vehicle attempted a hop but immediately after ignition it shut its engine down. They then attempted for another try a few hours later but wound up scrubbing.

PLEASE NOTE: There is no publicly available T-0 and the test is subject to change of time OR date. So don't be surprised if this stream gets delayed as well, I'll start streaming once fuel is loading so as not to waste battery or be out in the heat too long.

SpaceX plans to try and hop their StarShip prototype vehicle known as StarHopper today with serial number 6 Raptor Engine. The vehicle will hopefully fly to about 20 meters (60 feet) up and may translate over a little to the side as well.

This is a very important milestone for the StarShip / StarHopper prototype, but it's also very high risk. Hopefully everything goes well so the program can continue at this rapid pace.

Need to know more about the Raptor engine and why it's awesome?

Want to know more about what the StarHopper is or how it differs from StarShip? Here's my video about what it is and what its purpose is -

Thanks to the people at Enjoy SPI for helping me get an awesome hotel on South Padre Island! I'm not getting paid to say this, but if you're looking to catch StarHopper, definitely stay on South Padre Island and book with them, it's been incredible! -

There wasn't a hop, it was windy, plus very hot. The day was not lost. Follow along as I explain a little history of the village and the surrounding area. You will feel the heat, high winds and blowing sands. You will enjoy the stills, (my favs), in the last clip, and more of your favs, John's music picks.

Follow us as we bring you and Brownsville, the Lower Rio Grande Valley (LRGV) the view of our future and the Starship history. Also, please share our hard work, help us reach the area's that don't follow SpaceX or the technology of space. FYI, I can't bring our message to all social media, as mods and admins block my reporting, only you can spread my documentation. When I first started reporting and documenting out my back door, everybody wanted my work. So much has changed, I haven't changed, I'm still documenting history. SpaceX is still out my back door and is the new space corridor for the LRGV!! My message will get out there come hell or high water.

Oh...yes I have changed! I have this awesome producer and editor, John Davis, and his skills and music selections make this all come together. I have not made his life easy, but he has made mine fun again. That's what I told the SpaceX rep to tell Elon, I want fun again. Life before SpaceX was a hoot, having John onboard is bring the fun back into the SpaceX historical message. It is hard work, but fun when shared and enjoyed. So much of my message is about the LRGV, not just SpaceX. You will want to see us grow and embrace the space industry!! Plan a visit soon.

    Hoping for the hop....stay tuned.
