    These are the anti-inflammatory foods I eat every week to reduce inflammation in my body. An anti-inflammatory diet can help with reducing joint pain and arthritis, healing the gut (key if you have celiac, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's or IBS), getting rid of eczema and psoriasis, and keeping other autoimmune conditions such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis in check. It's also beneficial if you suffer from anxiety or depression.

    I became well versed in wholesome, anti-inflammatory foods several years ago when I embraced a whole foods diet. After being diagnosed with four autoimmune diseases in two years I realized my body was fighting massive immune system inflammation and I needed to provide reinforcements. Those reinforcements came in the form of groceries.

    Rough recipe for Green Tahini
    1/4-1/2 cup of tahini
    A drizzle of apple cider vinegar
    1/2 squeeze of lemon
    Chopped parsley
    Chopped coriander
    Chopped basil

    Put all ingredients in food processor or blender until smooth. Salt and pepper to taste.

    Can keep in the fridge for 3-4 days!

    1 tsp mustard seeds
    1 tsp cumin seeds
    1 tsp fenugreek
    1-2 tsp ginger
    2 tsp turmeric
    1 tsbp curry powder
    1 tsp chilli powder (optional!)
    1 diced onion
    3-4 cloves of garlic
    2 cups red lentils
    2 cups chopped pumpkin
    Enough water or stock to cover
    1/2 cup of coconut cream

    Recipes for good health, from one of the nation's top children's hospitals.

    The anti-inflammatory diet is a fiber- and nutrient-rich eating pattern that focuses on whole foods and reduces or eliminates foods known to contribute to chronic inflammation. Potential benefits of the diet include maintenance of health and wellness and prevention of chronic diseases associated with inflammation, such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease and some forms of cancer. This recipe was developed by a team of doctors and nutrition experts at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Drexel University.

    Oral Rehydration Solution
    Serves: 6
    3 cups water
    2 cups coconut water
    ¾ cup plus 2 tablespoons pineapple juice
    2 tablespoons lemon juice
    ½ teaspoon salt

    In a large pitcher, mix together all ingredients. Store in refrigerator, drink within 1 week. Serve in 1-cup portions.

    Recipes were developed in collaboration with Alexandra Zeitz and the Drexel Food Lab and shot at the Center for Food and Hospitality Management at Drexel University. The videos were created with generous support from the Snider Foundation.
