  • Recover From Covid | 10 Tips to Recover From COVID 19 at Home | Coronavirus Recovery

Most people with COVID-19 have mild illness and can recover at home without medical care. Do not leave your home, except to get medical care. Do not visit public areas. Take care of yourself.

What's the Recovery Time for Coronavirus? Early research suggested that it could take 2 weeks for your body to get over a mild illness, or up to 6 ...

For patients with mild to moderate COVID-19, replication-competent virus has not been recovered after 10 days following symptom onset.

Getting infected with Covid-19 is a frightening, isolating experience. But as more people endure it, the community of survivors is growing — and with them comes better guidance. The standard advice — rest, fluids and fever reducers — was and is essential, but at times it felt inadequate to the severity of the illness.

With a confirmed positive COVID-19 test, you are most likely being sent home to rest, stay away from others, and recover. This is the case for more than 95% of people, as their symptoms do not require hospitalization. Some people have a higher risk for complications and should be monitored extra closely.

Novel coronavirus symptoms tend to go away for most people as the body works to recover from COVID-19 infection, which usually takes two or three weeks. Ten days after coronavirus symptoms first appeared and you don’t have any symptoms, research suggests most people are no longer able to infect others and may end isolation.

  • Home Isolation For Patients With Mild Symptoms Of COVID-19 | Dr Kirti Sabnis

Home Isolation For Patients With Mild Symptoms Of COVID-19

Anytime someone finds out about being tested for Covid-19 they go into a panic frenzy and start fretting about treatment and hospitals not having enough beds and space due to the rapid increase in cases. But not every case of Covid-19 is as serious and you can continue the treatment for Covid-19 at home by following the guidelines for home isolation.

How do you know if your symptoms of Covid-19 are mild or serious? The few things to monitor are like continuous high fever for 5 days, oxygen level below 95, uncontrolled diabetes, above the age of 80, have gone under any serious surgical treatments, etc., if you don’t fall under categories like these, then you can continue your treatment for Covid-19 at home.

If you have mild symptoms of Covid-19, you can quarantine at home by following the guidelines for home isolation. Here are a few types of equipment you’ll need to quarantine for Covid-19 at-home - pulse oximeter, a device to check the blood oxygen levels at home, a thermometer, those who have blood pressure problems and are on medication for the same need a portable BP machine, etc.

The patients quarantining at home need to use these devices to monitor their Covid-19 symptoms regularly. You’re required to check your fever, temperature, and oxygen level every 6 hours. Oxygen level at 95 or above is fine, the oxygen level might vary while you’re testing, to get an accurate count, walk around for a few minutes and then test your oxygen level again, if it stays 95 then the situation is under control. Your temperature might vary from 97-99 but the situation is under control, but if your temperature is 99.5 or above continuously even after taking medication, then it’s an alarming situation and you need to consult the doctor.

Moving on to dietary requirements for home-based care for covid patients. If you’re a diabetic or a blood pressure patient, then it’s essential to keep these problems under control by regular monitoring and following your regular diet to keep your sugar or bp in control. Other than that Covid-19 patients at home can eat the regular food that is being made for everyone else and there are no special diet restrictions. Since patients lose their taste due to fever they might not be able to eat as much, however, you have to maintain your liquid intake to a sufficient level of 2.5-7 liter water every day. Other than that doctors recommend a high protein diet to maintain the nutritional level for at least the initial 10-14 days.

The next important activity for home-based care for covid patients is breathing exercises. Only medication will not be effective and Covid-19 patients at home need to do breathing exercises, if you know pranayama, do that, if not normal deep breathing exercises are good too. The next very important activity is awake proning, or lying on your stomach. A lot of people don’t take it seriously but doctors highly recommend it. Awake proning for 6 hours in a day is very important for treatment of Covid-19 at home and maintaining oxygen levels.

Maintaining the above-mentioned parameters and regular follow-ups with doctors are the guidelines for home isolation for the treatment of people with mild symptoms of Covid-19 at home.

  • Which treatments are most effective against COVID-19? | COVID-19 Special

While everyone's focused on COVID-19 vaccines, what about a cure or treatment for those infected with coronavirus or those of us who could still catch it? Especially as a second or third wave crests in many countries.

Hospitals have a small arsenal of treatments against Covid: Remdesivir, despite reservations by the WHO, has its place, as do cortisone and other corticosteroids and antibody therapy. However all these substances have to be given early in the course of the disease, otherwise they may be counterproductive.

  • Immunity boosting foods || How to improve immunity against Corona? || Practo

How to boost immunity? What are the foods that boost immunity? Are there any immunity boosting home remedies? How to improve immunity to fight with Covid-19? Are there any immunity-boosting exercises? How to boost immunity naturally? These are a few common questions that people often have during this pandemic. Dr Rajesh Bhardwaj, an ENT specialist with over 37 years of experience, tells us what boosts immunity, how exercise and immunity are related, and how we can keep our immunity in check by following three steps: eating well, exercising regularly, and sleeping well.

    Video Transcript:
One of the things I see most of my patients do is to take extremely hot water, to the extent of
drinking boiling hot water, drinking lots of kadha and other local substances. Whether they catch
the coronavirus or not, they definitely are getting sore throats because of doing so.
The first and foremost is our diet. We need to include nutritionally dense food in our diets. These
include vegetables, fruits, low-fat milk, beans, nuts, milk products, fish and lean meat. These foods
have vitamins, minerals, nutrients and are low in fat, carbohydrates and have good protein. These
foods keep you healthy, keep your immunity at good levels and help keep your weight low.
What I don’t want you to do is have sugar. So, the first thing you have to do as far as your diet is
concerned is to get rid of sugar completely.
Refined sugar and other things which have sugar including cakes and pastries must not be
consumed. The single culprit that I would like to bring up is biscuits, also called cookies.
The mantra you must keep in mind is ‘no nutrition without calories.’ So, food which has calories but
no nutrition should not be consumed. Food which is nutritionally rich and low in calories is the best
    food for you.
The second thing to keep your immunity high is to exercise regularly, moderate physical activity
depending on your age and fitness levels. Exercise not only keeps you supple it keeps you healthy,
keeps your weight and BMI low and gives you a positive body image which is important, because
you need to feel good about your body.
The third and last thing about boosting immunity is sleep or rest. Your body needs adequate rest.
Fortunately, because most of us are working from home, we are not travelling too much and our
travel time is restricted so we have more time to ourselves. We should use that time to rest
adequately. 8 hours of sleep is good for you because that is when the body and mind are at rest, and
can rejuvenate and heal, so that you are fit to face another day.
So, as far boosting immunity or fitness is concerned, just remember these three things – eat well,
    exercise regularly and sleep well.

  • How Long Does The Covid-19 Virus Last Inside The Body?

How long does covid-19 virus last inside the body?

As the coronavirus epidemic continues in the US, you might be wondering just how long you'll be sick if you do contract COVID-19. Every case is different, but after months of scientific study and data collection, experts have a fairly good idea. Here are the symptoms you'll be dealing with, when they'll likely strike, and how long it will take until you're fully recovered and can safely emerge from self-isolation.

Not everyone who gets COVID-19 has symptoms—in fact, the World Health Organization (WHO) says 80% of infections are mild or asymptomatic. Yet those who do may develop fever and chills, a cough, muscle or body aches, fatigue, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, or a loss of taste or smell. Other people with COVID-19 have reported headache, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Yes, that’s a pretty large window. But a recent study by US immunologists, published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, narrowed it down. They analyzed more than 180 COVID-19 cases and found that, on average, it takes just over five days for COVID-19 symptoms to hit.

The research team also found that 97% of people who get the virus will develop symptoms within 11 days from the time they are first infected. Any of these symptoms can strike at any time during the course of the illness, from day one to the last days.
