  • Best CPUs of 2020 So Far

    24:10

We're recapping the best CPUs of 2020 so far. With half the year over, and with ever more CPUs on the horizon, it's time to look at the best gaming CPUs, best budget CPUs, best production, & more.
Back-order a GN Mouse Mat here:

    All CPUs linked below.
    Article and additional links:

This CPU round-up recaps all our testing and benchmark data from the most recent CPU launches, including the Intel 10th Gen CPUs and AMD Ryzen 3 3300X & 3100 launch. Our goals are to look for the best CPUs for gaming, the best CPUs for video editing (rendering) & programming (code compile), for 3D modeling and animation, for Photoshop, the most fun overclocking CPUs, the best budget CPUs, and the best overall CPU. Some of these categories consider price, some don't -- it just depends on what's being discussed. The Intel vs. AMD Ryzen benchmarks have heated up lately, and so the results have shuffled from our previous Best Of round-up. For more depth on any given CPU, please check the corresponding reviews by searching the channel. We won't be going in as much excruciating detail in this one as in the reviews, as it's meant to be more of a buyer's guide.

  • Chinese Pre-Built PC Review: ZhaoXin CPU + Knock-Off Windows OS, ft. NeoKylin

    36:14

We're reviewing a pre-built computer bought in China, the THTF TZ561-V3, which features a custom Linux build (NeoKylin) and a ZhaoXin X86 CPU.
Sponsor: Thermaltake Toughram on Amazon (

Watch our ZhaoXin ZX-C+ 4701 CPU review here:

Our review of the THTF system goes a lot deeper than just talking about the pre-built's component quality and pricing: We deep-dive on Chinese Linux distributions and Windows knock-offs, talking about NeoKylin, Ubuntu Kylin, Linux Kylin, Galaxy Kylin, and the differences between them. We also resurrect the topic of the ZhaoXin CPUs, an x86 CPU made in cooperation with Via and Centaur, cutting AMD and Intel out of the conversation. The THTF system can't be bought in the US, but it's not a particularly good deal in Asia, either. This system is clearly targeted at future government use, as Intel and AMD will soon be barred from the systems in use by officials. Consumers can still buy parts from foreign companies, but the agencies will be unable to do so, and so we see the emergence of ZhaoXin and boxes like the THTF TZ561-V3.

    ABOUT THIS VIDEO
This video is a PC build for gaming and Twitch streaming setup. I would also consider this a high-end gaming pc build in 2020. The computer revolves around the i9-9900K and MSI 1080 Ti Gaming X GPU. This video is also sponsored by Corsair as they did provide the H115i Pro RGB cooler, 16GB of the Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro RAM, and their RM 750W 80+ Gold power supply.

  • $750 Intel Budget Gaming PC Build

    19:32

I took a trip to Micro Center and felt bad for the few Intel CPU's shoved into the corner of the display case gathering dust. So I brought one home and I'm going to use it in a budget gaming PC build featuring the Intel Core I3-9100F, Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700 Gaming OC, Gigabyte B365M DS3H, Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4, Sabrent Rocket M.2 SSD, EVGA BQ 600W PSU, and the SAMA-3D ATX Mid tower Case.

  • Coffee Lake Build! Ultimate i7-8700k Day 1 Gaming PC Build?

    1:36:04

For this build, our centerpiece is one of Intel's brand new Coffee Lake chips, the Core i7-8700K. Coffee Lake is Intel's latest generation of processors, and with the embargo now lifted, we can show off what recently rolled into our labs. The processor may be the highlight, but that doesn't mean we skimp on the rest of the build. To give the chip a home, we surround it with some other premium parts for a fairly maxed-out desktop and record our efforts.

  • AMD Ryzen 3 3300X vs Intel i9-10900K: How much does CPU speed matter for games? | Upscaled

    12:52

Look, we know this isn't fair. We compared Intel's new flagship 10-core chip against AMD's 4-core 3300X. In almost any workload there would be no contest, but we wanted to see how these chips performed in three AAA games: Gears of War 5, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and Red Dead Redemption. The GPU tends to matter so much more for game performance than the CPU, will we see a difference between these two chips? Stick around to the end for some thoughts on the i9-10900K as well.

Also, can you tell I got bored and bought some RGB lights?

One note, I got the name of the AMD motherboard wrong, it's the Crosshair Extreme VII not Crossfire

  • Building a Gaming PC for Titanfall to beat Xbox One

With the release of Respawn's Titanfall upon us, many potential PC gamers are going to be looking for suggestions on compiling a list of parts targeted at a perfect Titanfall experience. The good news is, even with a fairly low investment in PC hardware, gamers will find that the PC version of this title is definitely the premiere way to play as the compute power of the Xbox One just can't compete.

In this story we'll present three different build suggestions, each addressing a different target resolution but also better image quality settings than the Xbox One can offer. We have options for 1080p, the best option that the Xbox could offer, 2560x1440 and even 3840x2160, better known as 4K. In truth, the graphics horsepower required by Titanfall isn't overly extreme, and thus an entire PC build coming in under $800, including a full copy of Windows 8.1, is easy to accomplish.
