  • NASA 60th: Humans in Space

It is part of the human spirit to explore. During 60 years, we have selected 350 people as astronauts to lead the way. For nearly two decades, humans have been living and working aboard the International Space Station in low-Earth orbit to enable future missions forward to the Moon and on to Mars while also leading discoveries that improve life on Earth. Congress passed the National Aeronautics and Space Act on July 16, and President Eisenhower signed it into law on July 29, 1958. NASA opened for business on Oct. 1, 1958. Our history tells a story of exploration, innovation and discoveries. That story continues in the next 60 years. Learn more:

  • How Will Humans Return to the Moon in 2024? Lunar Lander Options for Artemis

After almost 50 years since the Apollo Moon landing missions ended, NASA announced that they’re going to return to the surface of the Moon with their Artemis mission, ideally taking the first lunar footsteps in 2024.

NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine asked for additional funding to achieve this goal, and the other branches of government haven’t been as enthusiastic about this plan. So don’t be surprised if the landing date slips to 2028 or even farther.

But NASA is moving forward on its architecture to return humans to the Moon, from its launch rocket to the entire method of getting astronauts down to the surface.

Exactly which rockets, modules and landing systems that will be used are still getting worked out, with different options still getting considered.

  • Can Humans Fly With Wings?

Is it possible for humans / human / you to fly with a set of wings?

Humans have wing envy. For thousands of years, we’ve been dreaming up hare-brained schemes to fly like birds.
The ancient Greeks conjured up Icarus and Daedalus, who made wings from bird feathers, strings and wax.
Leonardo da Vinci put a little more thought into it, drafting plans for a mechanical winged contraption known as the ornithopter.

While 20th-century humans are perfectly capable of taking to the skies, there’s something intrinsically unsatisfying about doing so in an aluminum behemoth.
We still want to fly like birds — taking off under our own power and gliding effortlessly once we’re airborne.
After at least two millennia of thoughtful engineering, why are humans still trying to figure out individual flight?
Why can’t we strap on a set of wings and take off?
In this video, you will learn if it is possible for you / us / human / humans to fly with a set of wings.

0:00 Intro: Can the Chinese space agency copy SpaceX Starship Mars rocket and carry out their own Starship Mars mission?!
0:32 SpaceX's Starship / Super Heavy launch system is far superior than NASA SLS, Blue Origin New Glenn or any Chinese space rocket. Only a Starship Mars landing can make our Mars colonization dream come true.
2:40 Only the Chinese understand the importance and efficiency of SpaceX's reusable rockets. Hence a few Chinese space rocket startups are copying SpaceX Falcon 9 and building the first Chinese reusable rocket.
4:14 The Chinese private spaceflight company i-Space is copying SpaceX Falcon 9 and building a reusable launch vehicle, which uses liquefied methane and oxygen as SpaceX Starship Mars rocket.
5:18 The Chinese space startup LinkSpace already successfully completed the first hop test of their SpaceX Falcon 9 reusable rocket replication.
7:35 As SpaceX is very transparent with their Starship / Super Heavy progress at SpaceX Boca Chica facility, can the Chinese space agency just copy SpaceX Starship for their own future Moon and Mars missions?
8:57 The current Chinese reusable rocket is far behind SpaceX Falcon Heavy and Falcon 9, and the technical challenge of replicating SpaceX Starship's raptor engine is extremely high.
10:43 Even though China can not catch up with SpaceX Starship Mars rocket, they are determined to land Chinese astronauts on the moon by 2030 and even build a Chinese moon base after that.

In part 1 of our special series on human ancestry, we tour through our family tree to meet our ancestors and distant cousins, and to find out what made us human along the way.
The story of human ancestry is not a simple progression from primitive apes to us, with all the ape/human intermediates in between. The real human story is much richer and more complex, full of branches, gaps, and shadowy parts. A century and a half of fossil finds tells us perhaps two dozen human species lived on Earth between now and the time when our ancestors split from chimpanzee ancestors. The new era of DNA and genetics is upending that story yet again.

It took humans 10,000 years to go from hunter-gatherers to world domination. Considering the vastness of time that humans and life have been on Earth, could this have happened once before?

This question was put forth by Adam Frank and Gavin Schmidt in their paper titled The Silurian Hypothesis, where they tried to figure out what in the geologic record would be a sign of a previous industrial civilization. It brings up a lot of questions and makes you deal with the weight of deep time, as well as the fleeting nature of history.

  • What Will The Future Of Space Look Like?

It has been 51 years since the first man stepped foot on moon when Apollo 11 successfully landed on the lunar surface on July 16th of 1969. It was at this moment when Neil Armstrong uttered those famous lines and change the history of mankind forever.
O how will the future of space look like in the coming future? Who will be the most advanced organisations in space industry? Today in this video we will look at how the future of space would like?
    Subscribe for more videos:
    Business Enquiries:
The evolution of space industry and the start of the space race was mainly because of the geopolitics between the 1960s and 1970s. It was undoubtedly the golden era of space industry, and the cold war between the USA and the USSR was the fuel. But this time the space race is distinct. We have to ask a lot of questions to know how the future of space would be like? Until now only 571 people have been in space. During the cold war people were excited about this new technology space battle which also encouraged NASA, and soon it could land people on mars. But since 1972 no man has ever been to the moon and the excitement of people also diminished. In this new era of space NASA and many other organisations now plan to send astronauts back to moon. Today this pace race is unique. It’s not only about NASA’s decisions, it’s about Russia’s decision, India’s decision, China’s decision and many other countries and private organisations too. It’s a much more diverse future. With the falling costs, new technologies and other nations such as China and India entering the landscape, the space will look very different. The pace of advancement is going to explode with a lot of new space companies emerging, which provides a booming space industry. We already have printing companies in space which have printed on the ISS and soon many others will follow along with companies that will provide tourism, better communication in space and maybe mineral exploitation in the future. There might be even more different companies than what we think now. So let’s take a close at each organisation up close.

Currently the space industry has had a relatively narrow spectrum of missions, mainly focused on sending satellites used for communication broadcasting and navigation like the Global Positioning System or GPS by the United states. The space industry in the 1960s and 70s depended on mainly the two major superpowers in the cold war, USA and USSR. NASA emerged as the major superpower in space at the end of cold war. SO let’s look at the missions and indications of future missions by NASA. NASA is the most influential space agency in the world and the utmost authority on Space, as it was the first major superpower in space industry and has even maintained it today. NASA is very transparent about its plans and missions. NASA had a budget of about 21 billion dollars in 2020. Out of these, they will use about 11 billion dollars for major space campaigns like Space Launch System (SLS),Lunar gateway, and Lunar lander. NASA has the most variety of missions planned in the future, which we can see on their website, which has all the current and future missions listed. We will leave a link down in the description and you can see NASA’s mission yourself.. Many of NASA’s missions are research projects to validate the usage of certain technology for safe manned missions in space. NASA wants to send humans back to moon after the last Apollo mission in 1972! And so It has announce its Artemis project, which plans to send humans on moon by 2024. NASA plans to dod so with the use of lunar platform gateway, which is somewhat like ISS 2.0. This International project is a moon orbiting station to serve as the staging point for robotic and crewed missions to the lunar surface and beyond.

Starship, SpaceX's under-development rocket set to take humans to the moon and Mars, has been making appearances in prototype form.
Earlier this month, CEO Elon Musk shared an image via his Twitter page of two prototype models that Space X is currently developing the Starship at the Boca Chica facility in Texas. The image showed the SN5 prototype that launched earlier this month alongside a new SN6 model, which performed its raptor engine static test on Sunday, August 23rd.
To learn more about the successful static test of SN6, please watch our earlier video on this topic.

Welcome, Space X Fans, to your next space X update. Today we are going to talk the construction and size of Starship and Super Heavy Prototypes. Please like and subscribe to see more videos like this.
The image tweeted by MUSK, demonstrates the impressive size of these early models, even though they lack many features expected in the final design. The final ship is expected to measure 50 meters, or 164 feet high, with a diameter measuring nine meters, just shy of 30 feet. The Super Heavy booster that will help it leave Earth is expected to add a further 70 meters, or 230 feet. Adding to that its two-meter, or 6 and ½ feet legs means, the whole ship will tower at 122 meters, or 400 feet tall.

The Vehicle Assembly building that currently is being used is not large enough to build a space craft of this scale, so Space X began the installation of a new Vehicle Assembly building on July 7th. The new building will be assembled from 32 prefabricated sections, and will house an 81 meter high bay, nearly twice the size of the current Vehicle Assembly Building.

This NASA Spacecraft Could Unveil the Origins of Life -

In 2014, the spacecraft launched from the Tanegashima Space Center while aboard the H2A rocket. Its mission? To study and sample a C-type asteroid. Ryugu is one of the smallest objects ever visited by a spacecraft, but it’s worth going to because C-type asteroids are some of the most ancient objects in our solar system.

Scientists speculate that they were created during the violent beginnings of our solar system’s formation and could also carry the building blocks of life. These kinds of asteroids, though, are quite carbon-rich, causing coal-black surfaces that actually make it very difficult to see and study from Earth. So, when Hayabusa2 arrived at Ryugu in 2018, it was quite prepared to study the asteroid like never before.

This mission included, not only the main spacecraft with remote sensing instruments, but also a lander, small rovers, a sampling system, AND an impactor to create a small crater on the surface.

“Organic materials are origins of life on Earth, but we still don(asterisk)t know where they came from,” Yoshikawa said. “We are hoping to find clues to the origin of life on Earth by analyzing details of the organic materials brought back by Hayabusa2.”

What kind of asteroid is Ryugu?

The reason we do not yet understand Ryugu is because asteroids appear only as points even when viewed with a large telescope. This may seem a little strange! How are we able to see the shape of a galaxy tens of millions or even billions of light years away, but we do not know the shape of celestial bodies within our Solar System? Actually, a quick calculation can show you why this is true.

    Asteroid explorer, Hayabusa2, reporter briefing

The great challenges of sending Hayabusa2 to an unplanned destination. Long cruise over 10 years. Deterioration due to radiation of the optical system for the observation equipment and sensors. Evaluation of equipment through stellar observations and those of the Moon during the Earth swing-by. Zodiacal light and exoplanet observations can take advantage of the long cruise.

The Discovery of Extraterrestrial Life | Space Documentary 2020 HD
Life on Mars has been long speculated. Liquid water is widely thought to have existed on Mars in the past, and now can occasionally be found as low-volume liquid brines in shallow Martian soil. The origin of the potential biosignature of methane observed in Mars' atmosphere is unexplained, although hypotheses not involving life have also been proposed.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

  • Did Dinosaurs Ever Live Alongside Humans?

You may have been told online or at special interest museums that dinosaurs once lived alongside humans, or maybe even still live today. Here we look closely at this claim, and discover what science can tell us.

This animation was based partially on two wonderful books:

'Hunting Monsters' which is about the quests of various scientists and explorers attempting to discover mythical beasts, some of which turned out to be real! You can get yourself a copy here:

And the book 'Dinosaurs - How they lived and evolved'. This is a huge, full-colored book, summarizing all the discoveries we've made about dinosaurs since the first was described in 1824. It's the best book I read this year (the year is still young I suppose but... It's pretty dang good!) Get your copy here:

In this video we show the best supposed evidence that humans and dinos once lived together: several corpses, supposed fossils, and pieces of ancient dinosaur artwork. Below are links where you can learn more about each claim. Where possible, I also link to articles by creationists debunking these claims because some of our viewers are reluctant to accept secular sources alone:

FOSSIL OF DINO EATING MAN - This was an April fools joke put on by the NMSR. Unfortunately, some dino enthusiasts were so eager to believe that it is still used today in debates as proof that humans and dinosaurs once lived together:

These human prints are actually dinosaur tracks with the toes naturally filled in afterwords, leaving a vaguely human-like shape:

Creationists also now accept that these prints are not human:

DEAD KILLER WHALE MISTAKEN FOR DINOSAUR - here is the full video the internet photos were grabbed from. In the video you can clearly see the whales front flippers.

DEAD SHARK MISTAKEN FOR PLESIOSAUR - basking sharks often float after dying and quickly lose their gills and jaws as the rot. This gives them the appearance of being a long necked, small headed creature, superficially similar to a plesiosaur.

Here is a creationist site telling other dino-enthusiasts that it is a shark after-all:

SUPPOSED STEGOSAURUS SCULPTURE - Here is an excellent video by Trey the Explainer on the subject:

ICA STONES WITH DINOSAUR CARVINGS - These carvings were hoaxes - created by profiteering Peruvian farmers and sold to gullible tourists.

Here is a creationist group warning about the controversial history of the stones:

DINO SOFT TISSUE - Watch our animation going over the work of Mary Schweitzer and others that have found soft tissue inside dinosaur bones.

  • 10 WILD Things that Happen to Humans in SPACE!

Humans were not made for space!! But we've been keeping our men and women up there for longer and longer. Here are the strangest things that happen to the body in space!

    Subscribe to Bored Badger:

Check our Mind Boggling Space Facts:

Space, the Final Frontier! With private companies like SpaceX and Blue Origin putting space exploration on their shoulders, humans are going to be spending more and more time away from Earth. But our bodies were made specifically for earth, here are the weirdest things that happen you the human body in space!
You can take as much calcium supplements and drink as much mild as you want, but if you’re spending time in space you’re going to lose Phone! Phone s are super important for our bodies, they provide structure that allows us to move. Unfortunately they’re not built for space. Phones are able to stay strong here on earth because of the constant resistance they receive from the planet’s gravitational pull. This ongoing pressure allows our phone s to continually remodel. During spaceflight however, there is no gravity. When you’re floating around out there in the great beyond your phone s begin to weaken. A reduction of phone mineral density sets in and research has shown that there is a 3.5% loss of phone after just 16-28 weeks of spaceflight. Most of that occurs in weight bearing phones like the pelvis and the legs.
Pop quiz hot spot! Mankind has been sending people up into space for decades. We’ve been getting better and better at keeping our men and women off of the planet. What do you think is the longest that a human has ever spent in space? See if you can guess the correct answer in the comments below and I’ll let you know later on in the video if you’re right.
In Space your body is absolutely bombarded with Cosmic ray tea nation! Which is nowhere near as cool as it sounds. Its real bad for you and so far there are no cases of it giving astronauts superpowers. So all around a bad thing to inflict on your body. On the International Space Station people are exposed to 9 times more ray tea nation than we get here on Earth. As it happens, Earth’s atmosphere, the one we’ve been playing fast a loose with for decades, is actually protecting us from most of this space
Perhaps one of the best things about living in space is that you don’t need to spend any money on manicures! Why is that? Because in space, your fingernails fall out! This phenomenon is known as fingernail delamination and in a recent study 22 astronauts reported losing their fingernails while in space.
They say that space travel isn’t for the faint of heart, but it turns out that just traveling in space will make your heart faint. Many parts of the human body’s cardiovascular system are influenced by earth’s gravity. Our veins for example work by pushing against gravity to get mud back to the heart. In the absence of a gravitational pull. your heart can actually change! And the longer you stay up there the more next cream the changes get.
Being in space can mess with your vision! About 80% of astronauts report vision problems when they come back to earth. Its known as Visual Impairment Intracranial
When you’re in space you stop snoring!! That sounds like heaven on earth! When you’re traveling around the cosmos you never have to worry about cramming ear plugs into your head because your sleeping partners’ snores sound like they’re
Ever since humans became capable of space travel astronauts have reported life changing experiences while in orbit. American astronaut Charlie Duke who flew in Apollo 16 said about his time in space quote “I was overwhelmed by the certainty that what I was witnessing was part of the universality of Todd…I just poked up. Tears came. It was the most deeply moving experience of my life” End quote. The phenomenon is known as space euphoria. Astronaut
In space everyone is taller! While living in zero gravity your vertebrae begin to spread apart and this
If you’re unlucky enough to have a suit malfunction while floating around in the vacuum of space you have about 15 seconds before all the oxygen in your body is gone. The air that you have in your respiratory system will begin to a rest live Lee expand until your lungs ear up like a birthday balloon.

Its answer time! The person who has spent the most time up in space is a Russian gentleman by the name of Valeri Polyakov. Valeri was born in 1942 in the om the Russian federation and an two extra rations of pork!
When you’re in space your brain starts to float! You become a real space cadet! If follows that without gravity things in your body can shift around and researchers have been found that the brain is one of those things.
