  • Canada Road Trip: Best Things To Do In Québec

    5:53

Looking for the best things to do in Quebec? Look no further! We'll show you the best things to do in Montreal, Quebec City, Mont Tremblant, and more~

Québec was the fifth province we visited on our 150-day road trip across Canada and in this video, we share some of the best things to do in Quebec!

    Learn more about Quebec at

Québec is a big province full of history, nature, and diverse cities. As Canada’s only primarily French-speaking province, it’s quite different than the rest of the country. Also, due to the complicated history between the English and the French, Québec has always strived to create and keep its own identity, which is quite apparent in the pride they have for their own flag and other cultural practices. We learned so much during our time in the province and had a lot of fun exploring the cities and the surrounding nature.

Special Note: We just released the Canada Saver Card, a physical discount card that gets you discounts at a variety of attractions, adventures, and activities across Canada! From helicopter tours to rafting, fishing, museums, and horseback rides, save money on all of them for less than $30! -

With historical cities like Old Québec, diverse cities like Montreal, and natural attractions like Mont Tremblant and the St. Lawrence Saguenay Seaway, Québec is an exciting province to explore.

Canada's Road to 150 is a 150-day Canada-wide multi-media road trip celebrating Canada's 150th birthday by exploring the uniqueness of this country provincially and collectively while answering the question; What makes Canada special?

We will drive to and through every driveable province and territory, showcasing Canada's natural beauty and regional attractions while interviewing Canadians of all cultures and backgrounds, including local celebrities, immigrants, refugees, and everyday rural and urban Canadians. Our aim is to dig deep into what makes Canada such an incredibly inspiring country while showing off the best of Canada's tourism to Canadians and to the world.

  • Special Report - Canada: A country full of hopes | उम्मीदों भरा देश

    28:06

This special report explores the basic fabric of the Canadian society, i.e. multiculturalism and pluralism. Rajya Sabha TV team visited many places in Canada meeting people from the civil society, government functionaries, and persons engaged in different professions.

As a country of immigrants by choice, Canada is managing its diversities very enthusiastically and successfully which is reflected in this report. It offers a model for other countries to emulate which too have diverse societies.

You guessed it right, Canada. The country is covering almost half the North American continent's land area. Canada is slightly bigger than the USA and about as big as China.
Largest City: Mexico City, which is the capital city of Mexico with a population of about 9 million. With more than 20 million inhabitants in the metropolitan area, this is one of the largest cities in the world.
Smallest Country: St Kitts and Nevis with only about 54,000 inhabitants. This island country is located in the Caribbean Sea. The least populated dependency is Montserrat, a British Overseas Territory, with less than 6,000 inhabitants.
Biggest Island: Greenland. This is also the world's largest island that is not a continent! Greenland is located in the North Atlantic Ocean. - Australia is also an island, but considered a continent

  • Canada - History and Geography in 3 minutes - mini history - mini geography

    3:17

Canada is a country in the northern part of North America. Its ten provinces and three territories extend from the Atlantic to the Pacific and northward into the Arctic Ocean, covering 9.98 million square kilometres (3.85 million square miles), making it the world's second-largest country by total area. Its southern and western border with the United States , stretching 8,891 kilometres (5,525 mi), is the world's longest bi-national land border. Canada's capital is Ottawa, and its three largest metropolitan areas are Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver.

Various indigenous peoples inhabited what is now Canada for thousands of years before European colonization. Beginning in the 16th century, British and French expeditions explored and later settled along the Atlantic coast. As a consequence of various armed conflicts, France ceded nearly all of its colonies in North America in 1763. In 1867, with the union of three British North American colonies through Confederation, Canada was formed as a federal dominion of four provinces. This began an accretion of provinces and territories and a process of increasing autonomy from the United Kingdom . This widening autonomy was highlighted by the Statute of Westminster of 1931 and culminated in the Canada Act of 1982, which severed the vestiges of legal dependence on the British parliament.

Canada is a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy in the Westminster tradition, with a monarch and a prime minister who serves as the chair of the Cabinet and head of government. The country is a realm within the Commonwealth of Nations, a member of the Francophonie and officially bilingual at the federal level. It ranks among the highest in international measurements of government transparency, civil liberties, quality of life, economic freedom, and education. It is one of the world's most ethnically diverse and multicultural nations, the product of large-scale immigration from many other countries. Canada's long and complex relationship with the United States has had a significant impact on its economy and culture.

A developed country, Canada has the seventeenth-highest nominal per-capita income globally as well as the thirteenth-highest ranking in the Human Development Index. Its advanced economy is the tenth-largest in the world, relying chiefly upon its abundant natural resources and well-developed international trade networks. Canada is part of several major international and intergovernmental institutions or groupings including the United Nations, NATO, the G7, the Group of Ten, the G20, the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum.

  • Lie Witness News - Canada is America’s 51st State

    3:14

This NBA Finals is the first ever between the US and Canada. Which of course is fun but Jimmy wanted to point something out that has been bothering him and that is the Raptors team slogan, “We The North.” Toronto is not the North. Toronto is part of Canada and it’s actually the Southern part. Canada is its own country and your location identity shouldn’t be relative to America. Wethought we could have some fun with this, so we went out on the street and we asked pedestrian show they felt about the news that Canada had just become our 51st State. Of course, that did not happen. But did that stop people from weighing in on it? We find out in tonight’s Canada edition of #LieWitnessNews.

  • The Geography of Genius: Why Some Places Are Better at Fostering Creativity

    8:28

Renaissance Florence, Enlightenment Edinburgh, Mozart's Vienna: why have certain places at certain times created such monumental leaps in thought and innovation? This is the question at the heart of travel writer Eric Weiner's latest book, The Geography of Genius: A Search for the World's Most Creative Places, From Ancient Athens to Silicon Valley.

This is a book about process, about how creative genius happens and what are the circumstances, Weiner explains. I believe in the power of place and the power of culture to shape our lives in unexpected ways.

Traveling the globe, Weiner looked at the locations and cultures that fostered history's greatest minds. Through his research he pieced together a list of ingredients he believes played a vital role in creating these genius clusters, including money, diversity, competition, and disorder.

A little bit of chaos is good, says Weiner. The pot has to be stirred. If you are fully invested in the status quo—either as a person or a place—you are unlikely to create genius because you are too comfortable.

So can a government build a city that will generate the geniuses of tomorrow? Weiner thinks not. I wish I could sit here and tell you that there was a formula and if you applied that formula you could create the next Silicon Valley, he says. There is no formula.

The geography of Canada describes the geographic features of Canada, the world's second largest country in total area. Situated in northern North America , Canada spans a vast, diverse territory between the North Pacific Ocean to the west and the North Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Arctic Ocean to the north , with the United States to the south and northwest . Greenland is to the northeast; off the southern coast of Newfoundland lies Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, an overseas collectivity of France. Since 1925, Canada has claimed the portion of the Arctic between 60°W and 141°W longitude to the North Pole; however, this claim is contested. While the magnetic North Pole lies within the Canadian Arctic territorial claim as of 2011, recent measurements indicate it is moving towards Siberia. Covering 9984670 km2 , Canada is slightly less than three-fifths as large as Russia and slightly smaller than Europe. In total area, Canada is slightly larger than both the U.S. and China; howeve...
