Ovulation is the part of the menstrual cycle where the ovary releases an egg to be fertilized during conception, or sloughed off during a woman's period. This video, created by Nucleus Medical Media, depicts in exquisite detail: follicle development within the ovary, the movement of the fimbriae over the ovulation site before ovulation, the bursting of the egg from the ovary in a rush of fluid, delicate quality of the ciliated fimbriae and its movement to pick up the egg after ovulation, peristalsis of the fallopian tube to move the egg toward the uterus. Ovulation must take place in order for a woman to get pregnant, preceding the meeting of the male sperm during fertilization.

  • Egg and Sperm Meet Symptoms – Major Signs Your Egg Has Been Fertilized

    3:11

???????????? What are the common symptoms when egg and sperm meet to achieve fertilization. In this video, we will answer key questions such as can your body detect fertilization, what are the signs and symptoms of fertilization and how soon can the signs of successful fertilization be experienced.

What signs can indicate whether your egg has been fertilized?
Following Ovulation which is when the egg is released from the ovary and travels to the fallopian tube, It is in the fallopian tube where sperms meet the released egg to achieve fertilization.

Given ovulation has taken place usually occurs 2 weeks before the start of the next period. The egg can achieve fertilization 24 hours after conception.

Can you experience Signs Or Symptoms when an egg gets fertilized? Or Can your body show signs of Fertilization?

When sperm meets an egg, the fertilized egg or zygote develops, this takes place normally 1 Day post ovulation. At this stage its too early to experience signs of pregnancy. Even a day or two after conception Having any symptoms is usually not a sign of pregnancy.

So How soon can you experience Symptoms of Fertilization?
Very early signs or symptoms appear actually not at the fertilization stage however at the implantation stage, when the fertilized egg or zygote continues to grow to form an embryo and implants or attaches in the female uterus. This process of implantation starts 5 days post ovulation. Which is when you may experience signs associated with successful conception.

5 Signs of Implantation that are indicative of successful fertilization include:

    • Cramping: some may experience cramps during the time of implantation.
    • Mild Bleeding: Around 25 percent of women may notice slight bleeding around the time of implantation. This is called implantation bleeding.
    • Breast Tenderness: Swelling or tenderness experienced in the breast region.
    • Feeling of bloatedness
    • Mood swings

The specific symptoms of pregnancy vary hugely from woman to woman. Some may experience them while others may not.

What about Other Symptoms of Successful Conception?
Other than missed periods, pregnancy-related symptoms such as nausea, morning sickness, back pain, food cravings, etc. start around week five or six of pregnancy (6 weeks from last menstrual period or 4 weeks post ovulation). Around 60% of women would experience some pregnancy symptoms.

So How soon can pregnancy be tested?
Pregnancy can be detected by Blood tests for hCG or pregnancy hormone accurately by 11 days after conception, while it is best to wait for 2 weeks after conception before taking a urine pregnancy test.

    ❓❓❓Commonly Asked Questions ANSWERED❗

    Q. Are there any symptoms when sperm meets egg?

Symptoms appear not at fertilization, however, may present in some women around the time of implantation (5 days post ovulation). With the appearance of other symptoms more prominent symptoms such as nausea, morning sickness appearing usually after 4 weeks post ovulation.

    Q. How do you know if the egg is fertilized after ovulation?

Successful conception can be tested by hCG test or pregnancy test in blood by 11 days for accurate results and 2 weeks for the urine pregnancy test.

    Q. Can you feel pregnant after 2 days or 4 days?

Too early to definitively know if pregnancy has been achieved. Implantation related symptoms may appear around day 5 post-ovulation such as spotting or mild bleeding and cramping.

    Q. How to detect Ovulation?

Several methods such as urine ovulation detection kits as detect Luteinizing hormone (LH) which triggers ovulation. Blood tests to measure hormone levels indicative of ovulation status. Less accurate methods include basal body temperature BBT charting. Other methods include visualizing cervical mucus appearance which is thin, watery, slightly stretchy around the time of ovulation as opposed to being thick, sticky when not in the fertile period.

This video teaches you what is in vitro fertilization and how in vitro fertilization procedure works? In vitro fertilization (IVF) is the becoming a member of of a girl's egg and a man's sperm in a laboratory dish. Fertilization method the sperm has attached to and entered the egg. Regularly, an egg and sperm are fertilized within a woman's body. If the fertilized egg attaches to the liner of the womb and continues to develop, a baby is born about 9 months later. This method is called ordinary or unassisted concept.
IVF is a type of assisted reproductive technological know-how (art). This means specified medical procedures are used to help a woman turn out to be pregnant. It is most more often than not tried when other, less high priced fertility strategies have failed.

  • Fertilization

    2:42

    Fertilization

Fertilisation is the union of a human egg and sperm, usually occurring in the ampulla of the uterine tube. It is also the initiation of prenatal development. Scientists discovered the dynamics of human fertilisation in the nineteenth century.
The process of fertilization involves a sperm fusing with an ovum--usually following ejaculation during sexual intercourse. It is possible, but less probable, for fertilization to occur without sexual intercourse, artificial insemination, or In vitro fertilisation. Upon encountering the ovum, the acrosome of the sperm produces enzymes which allow it to burrow through the outer jelly coat of the egg. The sperm plasma then fuses with the egg's plasma membrane, the sperm head disconnects from its flagellum and the egg travels down the Fallopian tube to reach the uterus.
In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is a process by which egg cells are fertilized by sperm outside the womb, in vitro.

  • Fertilization Results After ICSI | Low AMH IVF

    7:09

    Hi Everyone!

After getting 13 eggs from our egg retrieval we find out how many mature eggs we got and how many fertilized. I can't believe the first step of our IVF process done! Now we wait till I start my cycle and start to prepare for our Frozen Embryo Transfer.

My protocol from my doctor was to fertilize our eggs with ISCI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection). That's when they inject 1 sperm into each mature egg to hopefully increase the fertilization percentage. Usually this is done when there are problems with the sperm (which we do not have), but in our case it's when someone has low AMH and diminish ovarian reserve (DOR). .Since we were liking to have a small amount of mature eggs it just gives us more chance of them fertilizing.

Stay tunes to see more video regarding our IVF journey and our next step as we move toward transfer.

    About us:
    Welcome to Tutway.
A unique platform where learning is fun.
Now there is no distinction between kids’ fun time and study time.
At Tutway, we believe in a very simple idea that audio-visual learning is the most effective tool for grasping knowledge. Many researchers have proven that kids learn a lot by playing interactive games and watching audio-visual animated lessons as compared to reading from books.

That's when Tutway comes to the rescue.
Tutway is a supplementary education program where kids can learn at their own pace. The students can watch animated videos that are so meticulously made that they can understand even the most complex concepts very easily. There is a question bank at the end of each video where students can answer those questions multiple times and test whether they have grasped knowledge completely or not.
We have information systems embedded in the program where parents can monitor real-time performance of their kids and get up to date information about their performance, including quizzes attempted and the marks got in each quiz, both in tabular and graphical formats. Regular reports are e-mailed to the parents so that the parents can analyze their kids’ performance.
If we want to learn high-level concepts, we should have a clear understanding of the basic concepts. For instance, if kids don't know about addition and subtraction, they cannot do multiplication, and if they don't know about multiplication, they cannot do division, and if they don't have knowledge of these four basic operations, Algebra cannot be done by them, and it goes on and on.
The same applies to the English language if kids don't have sound knowledge of grammar and vocabulary; it becomes extremely difficult for them to have their communication skills.
Knowledge of the scientific concepts is also required for observing physical, chemical, biological phenomena happening all around us.
That is why; Tutway has thousands of animated videos on Maths, English, and Science to clear the basics of these subjects. It perfectly suits most of the educational needs of most of the students, regardless of their learning abilities.
So hurry up, download the Tutway app and book a free demo class to make education interactive and fun experience.

  • Fertilization in Hindi | Human Reproduction | Nursing Lecture

    25:21

What is Fertilization? Fertilization in humans means the fusion of 2 pronuclei to form a zygote. So the fertilization in humans takes place in the ampullary part of the fallopian tube and in this video, you must be able to know the route the secretions that help the sperm in their transportation to reach nearby the secondary oocyte.

And by a diagrammatic presentation on board, you might be able to see the receptors which make the sperm cell to attach by the layer and finally they put their genetic material inside the secondary oocyte, under this whole process sperm goes into the capacitation, acrosomal reaction and by cortical action of oocyte polyspermy is blocked.

  • Ovulation - Nucleus Health

    2:40

UPDATE: There is an updated version of this animation! Check it out here:

Ovulation is the part of the menstrual cycle where the ovary releases an egg to be fertilized during conception, or sloughed off during a woman's period. This 3D medical animation depicts in exquisite detail: follicle development within the ovary, the movement of the fimbriae over the ovulation site before ovulation, the bursting of the egg from the ovary in a rush of fluid, delicate quality of the ciliated fimbriae and its movement to pick up the egg after ovulation, peristalsis of the fallopian tube to move the egg toward the uterus. Ovulation must take place in order for a woman to get pregnant, preceding the meeting of the male sperm during fertilization.

    Transcript:

Ovulation is a part of the menstrual cycle when the ovary releases a ripe egg, or ovum.
Inside the ovary are hundreds of thousands of follicles. Each follicle is a hollow ball of cells with an immature egg in the center.
The typical 28-day menstrual cycle begins on the first day of menstrual bleeding.
During the first 7 days of the cycle, a few follicles begin to grow at the same time.
These maturing follicles secrete estrogen hormone into the blood stream to prepare the lining of the uterus for pregnancy.
Around Day 7, all of the follicles stop growing and begin to degenerate except for one.
This dominant follicle continues to grow and nourishes the developing egg inside it.
Around Day 12, the follicle secretes a large amount of estrogen into the blood stream.
When the estrogen reaches the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland in the brain, the anterior or front part of the pituitary gland releases a huge surge of luteinizing hormone into the blood stream.
Around day 14, luteinizing hormone causes the follicle to undergo a sudden growth spurt.
Right before ovulation, the egg detaches from the inside of the follicle.
The bulging follicle releases chemicals, causing one of the two fallopian tubes to move in closer and surround the follicle.
The follicle swells until... it bursts open, ejecting the egg and fluid from the follicle into the abdominal cavity.
In response, the fimbriae, tiny projections at the end of the fallopian tube, sweep across the ovulation site and pick up the egg.
Microscopic cilia on the fimbriae's surface transport the egg to the entrance of the fallopian tube.
Inside the walls of the fallopian tube, muscular contractions gently push the egg toward the uterus.
After ovulation, the egg lives for 12-24 hours, so it must be fertilized by a sperm from the male during this time for a woman to become pregnant.
If it is not fertilized, the egg dissolves away and is shed along with the uterine lining during menstruation.
