For the first time in my life... I'm COOL! - DIY Air Conditioning Pt 2

  • DIY Water-Chilled Radiant Air Cooler! Powerful! Uses 8x8 Heat Exchanger w/fan! EZ AC! Solar Pwrd!

Homemade AC Air Cooler! DIY Water-Chilled Radiant Air Cooler! w/motor speed control! simple to build! full instructional talk-thru in video. made with an 8x8 water-to-air heat exchanger, small water pump and a 7 fan. This new design cools air by pumping ice-water (or cold water) thru a water-to-air heat exchanger (copper/aluminum radiator) and then drawing the warm air thru the unit using a 12v radiator fan. the air that is produced is cooled dramatically with no increase in humidity and no need to vent any part of the unit to the outside. the heat is essentially captured into the cold water and the cold in the water is released into the room as cold air. tests... with water temps around 45F (7.2C), i was getting 55F (12.7C) output air! (at 1500 CFM air flow!). highest temp i saw was 63F (using no ice, only cold water). the unit easily cools living space in no time at all. i was amazed at it's efficiency. unit ran for hours on one fill up of ice and water. note that no ice is even needed... just cool water. unit dropped air temp in room from mid 80's to mid 70's (29.4C to 23.8C) and below. *in certain situations it can be too cold to sit right in front of it for an extended time. notice the scene where i put on a coat. that was not meant as a joke or over-statement. after filming in front of the unit for hours i was actually shaking a little. at first i thought i was hungry or getting sick or something - then realized it was the air cooler so i put a coat on to warm up. note that this device can be used as a heater too! *with no modifications. all you have to do is pump warm/hot water thru it and it produces warm/hot air! (up to 25,600 BTU! per manufacturer). main parts needed... 8x8 heat exchanger (on amazon for $44.00), 7 1500 CFM radiator fan (on amazon for $14.00), 12v water pump (amazon 10.00) and a couple of scrap pieces of wood and plastic pipe. goes together in minutes. portable and versatile. can be used with an ice-chest/large plastic tub or just fill kitchen sink or bathtub. then place tubes and pump in basin and set the unit on a counter top, table or chair. fill basin with hot or cold water and fire it up. if you naturally have cold tap water you can essentially run this thing continuously for next to nothing. calculated costs to run this over 30 days at 10 hours a day are... 54 cents for the pump (12w at 15 cents a kwh). extra cost to run your kitchen fridge to freeze the ice... about 1.50 to 2.00 for the month. 12v fan on solar so the total cost is about $2.50. (or essentially free). i highly recommend this project as it is very powerful and can be used in a variety of ways. *as both cooler and heater. badger-pipe makes/sells the heat exchanger but i recommend getting it on amazon. they sell it there - only $44 (and no tax or shipping when i bought it - just a straight 44). any 7 radiator fan should work with this project, and then just chose your pump (AC or DC) and pipe. i recommend at least using a 200 gph or higher (300 or 400 one would be good too). i just bought a 350gph 12v bilge pump. i'll try that and compare temps. so far i've run it partially solar powered but using a 12v pump makes the unit itself 100% solar powered. pipe i used is rated from (minus 40F) to 175F (so will work for cooler and heater option). optional motor speed control unit from amazon (12.99)... Final thoughts, i recently bought an anemometer (wind speed meter). the 1500 cfm from seller is accurate. i measured airflow anywhere from 1200cfm to 1800cfm. (depending on where you hold the meter). so the average would be about 1500. also checked the wind speed. it averages 20 mph! (32.19 kph). for the longest run-time between fill-ups start with cold water from your fridge versus tap water. just keep a few gallons of water in your fridge and use them at startup (along with the ice). fridge cooled water will be around 40F and will melt the ice way slower than if you start with 75-80F tap water. the warm tap water will eat up a third of the ice just to get the water to 45F. *for max. cooling optimal water temps (per online research) is 39F to 44F). i noticed that the output air seemed to generally be 10 degrees warmer than the water (water temp 45F then air temp about 55F)

  • Im 32 and Only Wear Children Clothes!

A story about a girl...pardon a 30 something year old woman, who will probably stay a kid forever. Funny fashion experiment: I, SaraBeautyCorner made a funny comedy and parody video mocking my childish fashion sense. The truth is, ever since I made YouTube my primary career, I've started dressing more and more kids like – both on videos and in real life. I spend 80% of time in pajamas and the other 20% in childish hoodies and sweatshirt. This comedy video includes funny sketches, awkward situations, girl struggles, relatable facts and more!

There is nothing wrong with having a fun and youthful fashion style! I love trendy oversized hoodies, cartoon character graphic tees, bright colors and all that. But my love for comfort has gone a bit too far, to the point where I literally wear fuzzy pajamas when going to the mall, running errands, going on a date, etc. I decided to make a fun fashion experiment and shop for only grown up looking and age appropriate outfits! Join me on this crazy fashion journey and see how it went!

  • Worlds Lightest Solid!

Aerogels are the world's lightest (least dense) solids. They are also excellent thermal insulators and have been used in numerous Mars missions and the Stardust comet particle-return mission. The focus of this video is silica aerogels, though graphene aerogels are now technically the lightest.

At one point Dr. Steven Jones literally held the Guinness World Record for making the lightest aerogel and therefore lightest solid. If you're interested in learning more about aerogels, let me know in the comments as there is a potential trilogy in the works...

Huge thanks to Dr. Stephen Steiner and the crew at Aerogel Technologies. To find out more or buy your own aerogel sample, check out:

  • How to Make a Record-Setting Paper Plane

If you want to make the best paper planes, you need to learn from a master. So we asked John Collins, who set the Guinness World Record for farthest flight by a paper aircraft in 2012, to teach us a thing or two about the squash fold and perfect winglets. In this tutorial, he shows us how to fold three planes:

The Suzanne—the plane he set the world distance record with, named after his wife.

The Tube—a tube-shaped plane you throw like a football.

And, finally, the Boomerang—a stunt plane capable of circling left and right and performing loops.

Ready to fly? Grab a stack of paper, press play (pause as often as you need to) and fold away.

  • 44 Air Purifying Indoor Plants: Use These Houseplants to Clean Your Air!

Houseplants are not going to help you clean the dishes, or fold the laundry, but air purifying house plants might actually help clean the air inside your home.

After a brief explanation of how indoor plants may help reduce the level of volatile organic compounds (VOC's) that radiate from many man-made materials, in this video I will show you 44 different types of indoor plants that are known to capture these toxic fumes.

  • iPhone Back Glass Fix The EASY Way - Plus Clear Mod

Repair the back glass on your iPhone 8, iPhone 8 plus, or the iPhone 10! (at your own risk)
Get your FREE book download with 30 day trial HERE: or TEXT 'jerryrig' to 500-500!

Apple has made these repairs extraordinarily difficult. But where there is a will there is a way. Remember I DO NOT recommend attempting any of the repairs shown in this video on your own iPhone. The chance of failure is SUPER high, and you can thank apple for that. Here is a BETTER way to remove the glass:

    iPhone 8 Plus Back Glass:
    iPhone 8 Back Glass:
    iPhone X Back Glass:

I show a few different ways to repair a New cracked glass iPhone. The first is with a refrigerant that can be purchased on Amazon called tetrafluoroethane. ( This almost worked... But still wasn't cold enough. I then tried using Liquid Nitrogen to repair the back glass on my iPhone 8. This took about 10 minutes. BUT liquid nitrogen is not as easy to get a hold of.

    iPhone 8 plus Camera lens:
    iPhone 8 camera lens:
    B-7000 adhesive:

Finally I try using heat to remove and replace the back glass on the iPhone 8 plus. This took about a half hour. But was extremely difficult. Holding a phone that has been heated to 350 degrees F, is super dangerous not only to your hands, house, and desk, but to your phone as well. The phone is not designed to be heated to that temperature.

Apple charges CRAZY amounts for out of warranty repairs on these phones. If you dont have insurance, it is 399 dollars to repair your iPhone 8 plus, and over 500 dollars to repair your iPhone 10. Highway robbery right there.

Let me know if you have any questions, or if you want to see a Dry Ice attempt at repairing the iPhone 10 I have left.

    Wild West Hackin' Fest 2017
    Presented by Deviant Ollam:

Many organizations are accustomed to being scared at the results of their network scans and digital penetration tests, but seldom do these tests yield outright surprise across an entire enterprise. Some servers are unpatched, some software is vulnerable, and networks are often not properly segmented. No huge shocks there. As head of a Physical Penetration team, however, my deliverable day tends to be quite different. With faces agog, executives routinely watch me describe (or show video) of their doors and cabinets popping open in seconds. This presentation will highlight some of the most exciting and shocking methods by which my team and I routinely let ourselves in on physical jobs.
While paying the bills as a security auditor and penetration testing consultant with The CORE Group, Deviant Ollam is also a member of the Board of Directors of the US division of TOOOL, The Open Organisation Of Lockpickers. His books Practical Lock Picking and Keys to the Kingdom are among Syngress Publishing's best-selling pen testing titles. In addition to being a lockpicker, Deviant is also a GSA certified safe and vault technician and inspector. At multiple annual security conferences Deviant runs the Lockpick Village workshop area, and he has conducted physical security training sessions for Black Hat, DeepSec, ToorCon, HackCon, ShakaCon, HackInTheBox, ekoparty, AusCERT, GovCERT, CONFidence, the FBI, the NSA, DARPA, the National Defense University, the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, and the United States Military Academy at West Point.

His favorite Amendments to the US Constitution are, in no particular order, the 1st, 2nd, 9th, & 10th.

Deviant's first and strongest love has always been teaching. A graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology's Science, Technology, & Society program, he is always fascinated by the interplay that connects human values and social trends to developments in the technical world. While earning his BS degree at NJIT, Deviant also completed the History degree program at Rutgers University.

  • DIY: How to Replace a BMW i3 12v Auxiliary Battery

This video is meant to compliment the existing videos already uploaded to YouTube by others on how to replace the 12v auxiliary battery in the BMW i3. I go over details for the beginner or someone who doesn't normally work on cars so that you can get this done yourself.

I wasn't planning on a Part 2 when I made this video, but I did end up making one what demonstrates (as opposed to describing) each step including the re-connection of the high voltage to 12v battery which many have reported as being tricky. You can find Part 2 here:

As for the timestamps of this video:

1:55 How to open your hood w/o electricity running to your opener. Do it manually.
    2:10 Remove the frunk tub.
3:03 Disconnect the High Voltage main battery from the 12v auxiliary battery.
4:15 How to remove the battery with tips and tricks.
7:56 Schumacher battery charger and maintainer.
8:13 Stock battery is a Deka East Penn AUX18L.
    9:07 Tools you need.
    10:39 Ending commentary.
    10:45 Pricing
11:45 Registering the battery with BimmerLink app for $31.99 + $22 for the OBD2 reader.

BMW charges over $500 to do it. The battery itself is $235 + $18 + tax. Registration of the battery at least from my dealer was quoted at $215 on top of that. Ouch! I'll be using Bimmerlink app for $31.99 to do the same.

My new replacement battery was sourced from Ebay for $177. Remybattery has since dropped their price from $216 to 139.99 with shipping included. I'd recommend them if you're getting it now.

I was wrong about the indicator lights on the charger/maintainer. The lit sad face icon actually indicates that the connection is poor or the battery cannot be charged. If it is flashing, it means that the polarity is reversed. If properly charging, the battery icon is completely off and only the orange ON light is illuminated. I removed the clamps and placed them back on since making this video and is now properly charging.

  • How To Make A Garage Creeper

This DIY mechanics creeper is a super useful project to have around your garage or workshop. Whether you're modifying or servicing your car, this simple, quick project can be made for around $30 and is easily customisable to best suit your own needs. If you're using scrap wood you can make it for even less!

Want More DIY WorkShop Projects? Check out these videos on our second channel MCMTV2

Inspiration for this episode came from watching some really bad videos on how to make garage creepers, and some good ones including one by Bob at I Like to Make Stuff who has loads of great woodworking projects.

Also something to note around Mighty Car Mods: we are normal guys and are not trained mechanics. We like to make interesting car mods and show you how we've gone about it, but we can't promise that anything we show you will work for your particular car, or that you won't harm yourself, someone else, your car or your warranty doing it. Please be safe, be responsible and unless you know what you're doing, do not fool around with very serious machinery just because you've seen us make it look so easy. Talk to a qualified mechanic if you are in any doubt.

Learn how to make a DIY longboard! This was a really fun and relatively easy DIY project that's woodworking focused. We made a simple, hardwood board with no complex curvature to show how easy it is to make a longboard yourself. Whether you're a longtime skateboarder like Jay, or brand new to it like Jaimie, you can definitely make something yourself that is great looking and fun to ride.

Did you enjoy the video? We'd love to hear your feedback in the comments!!

A longboard is a long skateboard that is great for cruising and more relaxed riding. There are different types and all kinds of shapes and sizes like cruisers, downhill boards, etc. We chose to make a pintail shape, based on a really neat design from the Fibreflex series by Gordon & Smith. With nice big wheels from Orangatang and smooth bearings from Bones REDS, and the Sidewinder II Gullwing trucks, this thing rides like buttah!

  • Week 43: Aquarium Controllers: Protecting your tank, wallet and space | 52 Weeks of Reefing

It's Week 43 of 52 Weeks of Reefing, and this week we are starting an exciting new mini-series that is focused on controllers! Today we're starting with what they do a, brief overview of the different players, and a set of goals we have for all the equipment on the #BRS160.

In the following weeks we will install a variety of controllers and show you how to program them to meet these goals.

So what are the advantages of an aquarium controller, and why would anyone buy one? I think it revolves around three basic concepts; they save on space, money and clutter. Controllers take all the separate elements of the life-support system and unify them so they work together cohesively, and most importantly protect you from disasters as well as notify you they are happening. This gives you valuable time to save your tank from some pretty costly disasters.

They save on space simply because almost all of them have built in internal timers so those timers shaped like bricks that take up multiple spots are a thing of the past. In fact we remove the need for all kinds of space eating equipment like PH, ORP, Salinity monitors or controllers, wave markers, temperature controllers and the cord octopus disaster that comes with that mess.

All that clutter is not only unattractive and a pain to manage but one element that a lot of reefers miss until it’s too late is an organized install is also a safer install. We are dealing with saltwater, electricity, and cords which are more or less water freeways directly into your homes electrical outlet which have fairly obvious health and safety concerns. Remember that neatness counts!

One thing a lot of newer reefers miss is controllers are also substantially less expensive than buying all this equipment separately. A bunch pf digital timers, quality power bars, temperature controllers, OPR, salinity monitors or controllers, wave makers can easily be in excess of five hundred to a thousand dollars. With something like the reef keeper you can get all this for anywhere from just over a hundred to into the two hundreds.

Do you have a favorite controller? Is there something controllers don't offer that you would like to see implemented in future products? Let us know in the comments area down below!

  • Off Grid Pallet Wood Cabin Build in the Forest for Free - Wood Floor, Wall & Frame Structure

The second instalment of the off-grid one man cabin build using free reclaimed pallet wood. Now that the pallets have been processed down and the wood floor and foundation is complete, it was time to focus on the main structure of the cabin. We carried the wood in by hand as we have no saw mill. This meant that we could put together the walls of the cabin in the woods using reclaimed nails where possible. We are going for a classic log cabin look to the structure, with an apex roof and a window.
We had to put the frame together in pieces as the original pallets aren't large enough. Once we had each side built, we screwed them in place to create the cabin shape itself.
We also used some Bushcraft Skills with the axe and knife to weave a wall from the log store to the cabin itself. Next time we hope to put up the roof of the shelter. Hopefully you guys enjoy this primitive hut build and we hope to see you again in the next video on TA Outdoors.
