Top 3 NAS for Hard Drive and SSD Media of the Year -

SSD Media can be purchased here at SPAN.COM -

Top 3 NAS for SSD of the Year -

Network Attached Storage has long been established as one of the best ways to store large amount of data for access easily over the internet and network. Whether you are a home user with pictures of your family, a business user with a company accounts to maintain, or an enterprise user with a multi-tiered storage approach and surveillance 24×7 – a NAS Drive is a great way to store your data safely and easily. However, what about accessing that data? There isn’t a vast amount of point storing terabyte after terabyte of data, only to find that accessing it is difficult, complicated or slow. Of all the industries that use NAS in their business, three that require the fastest connectivity from their data are photo editors, video editors and virtual machine users. These are industries that are based around the SPEED of BIG data. solutions that involve 10Gbe, Thunderbolt and more that improve the external access speed are only solving half the issue. The NAS itself needs to be able to move data along internally at a good enough speed to ensure there is no bottleneck. The answer to this is SSD, but Solid State Drives still arrive at around 5x the cost of traditional hard drives, and at significantly smaller capacities (typically maxing at 4TB for £600-700 or more, compared with around 16TB available for £400 in Hard Drives). The answer is Hybrid Storage, Caching and Tiered storage. These three methods of combing the huge storage potential of Hard drives and the speed of Solid State Drives leads to the NAS operating at MAXIMUM speed internally. The popularity of this multi-layered system of storage (automatically or manually managed by the system) has grown to such a point that many NAS brands have produced servers that feature a combination of both HDD and SSD bays, to allow the best internal performance. Below are the very best 3 NAS Drives for Hard Drive and SSD media of 2019. The more keen-eyed will see that all three arrive from the NAS brand QNAP, but this is because they have invested so heavily in this type of storage system, and have produced the best examples of this technology seen so far.

  • How do SSDs Work? | How does your Smartphone store data? | Insanely Complex Nanoscopic Structures!

    17:55

Have you ever wondered how your smartphone can store countless pictures, songs, or videos? Or, have you wondered when you download a podcast to your smartphone, where does it actually get stored? In this video, we will open up your smartphone and take a look at the inside of the memory storage microchip. This same microchip is also used to store data in solid-state drives, or SSDs in your computer, in tablets, and inside flash drives. The technology is called VNAND or V-NAND, and it's incredible how engineers were able to fit such an insane amount of memory storage capacity in such a small space.

  • Acers Nitro 50 Gaming PC is a TOTAL Disaster... Heres Why...

    13:27

When someone came to me with a problem they were having with Fortnite and stuttering... I thought Oh just another low Specced PC that needs an upgrade. Though when they told me they had an Acer Nitro 50-600 Desktop Gaming PC, featuring an i5-8400 and a GTX 1060 6GB - I was struggling to believe that this PC would be capable of stuttering in Fortnite, especially at 1080p low settings (comp) settings (which is easy to run on most pcs).
Though after investigating the problems.... They were worse than I could expect... Insta-Throttle GPU, Single stick of memory, locked in mobo to OS, which causes problems with upgrading GPUs (initially). This thing really wasn't equipped for gaming in 2020 at all, despite having components that were...

In this video I will be installing a 120GB SSD (Solid State Drive) I got from Amazon for the ridiculously low price of $16.99 USD. The question is will it be any good? That's what we are about to find out as I upgrade an old office computer's boot HHD (Hard Disk Drive) to it.

Something I forgot to mention in the video was the Solid State Drive's Read and Write Speeds were 330mbps Read and 220Mbps Write. Far cry from their 10x Faster claim than HHD... But the boot test speaks for itself.

    Need storage? Buy this.
With more than 100mb/s write speed, this is so much faster than regular hard disks and sd cards and pendrives.

Its less than rm1 per Gb, and the larger capacities are cheaper per GB.

My only regret is not buying the 1TB unit. I have a 250GB and a 500GB version.

It took some time and effort making this video, showing the transfer speeds etc, so, please help a brother out and Subscribe and like this video. If youre a Malaysian, please share my video link haha pls?

  • DONT Buy these Gaming PCs!

    13:25

We admire people to put in the time to build and sell PC's, it's a hustle! However, we don't like when people mislead others who may not be so experienced with PCs into buying something that is labeled as a Gaming PC. In today's video, I rant a bit and talk about alternative options to avoid those bad deals.

  • IBM Thinkpad R31 System Board Issue and SSD

    6:16

This is an IBM Thinkpad I picked up, and am going to refurbish. To that end, at the time I picked it up I also got a a 64GB mSATA SSD and an IDE enclosure to go with it. Available on Amazon here:

Aneew mSATA SSD to 44 Pin IDE Adapter with Case

SSD SATA mSATA 64GB Shark Internal Solid State Drive High Performance Hard Drive for Desktop Laptop SATA III 6Gb/s Includes SSD 16GB 32GB 60GB 64GB 120GB 128GB 240GB 250GB 480GB 500GB (64GB, MSATA)

The laptop originally shipped with 256MB of RAM and I got a 60GB hard drive without a caddy to go with it. I got a caddy from eBay which also has the faceplate for a USB port and the audio ports. The SSD enclosure doesn't need the actual caddy part, as it is too thick to go into the hard drive well with it attached.

The Thinkpad has a Pentium III based Celeron running at 1.06GHz, and it originally shipped with Windows XP service pack 2. I installed service pack 3 on it and it runs fine. Well, it did run fine, until the system board went out. I'm getting 3 constant beeps so it may just need a CMOS battery or a mains battery. I have those now too, and I have a system board just in case.

The most interesting aspect of this is the mSATA enclosure. This cost me $30 total for the SSD and the enclosure when a 64GB fully manufactured SSD form Zheino or Kingspec are $50 and a unit from Transcend is $117. There is a board from Ableconn for $30 that has a frame for a caddy, but the one from Aneew is just as good and it's an enclosure.

There is a fixit video forthcoming. Thanks for watching.
