    The explorers of the past discovered new lands and founded colonies, many of which still exist today. Elon Musk has the same spirit of exploration, but his target is literally out of the world! He wants to form a settlement on an entirely different planet, Mars! One problem he has is that going to Mars will take you five months at the shortest, which to Musk is just too long! However, he has found an ingenious way to cut the trip to just 100 days or even less! What is this method, and how does it work?

    If you are planning a trip to Mars, you have better start with how you will cover the vast space between Earth and the Red Planet. Even if you choose the best time to take off, which comes around once in a while when the two planets align the most, you will spend the next five months in transit as you cover millions of miles! Space is massive, and anywhere you are going is far! Humanity has been making do with large fuel burning rockets when we head for space, but it has limited where we can go because we have to take into consideration the amount of energy required for the trips and the time it will take.
    SpaceX is working on the Starship to take people to Mars, but while the current Starship can carry lots of cargo, it will not cut down the travel time significantly.
    As Musk is aware, you don't want to spend five months between Earth and Mars. This is because there are so many risks with that! Astronauts on a trip to Mars would be exposed to very high levels of radiation which can cause serious long-term health problems such as cancer and sterility. As explorers going to populate a new territory, Musk wants them to arrive as healthy and fertile as possible! Radiation shielding can help, but it is extremely heavy, and the longer the mission, the more shielding is needed. A better way to reduce radiation exposure is to simply get where you are going quicker!
    Also, the more time you spend in transit, the higher the chance of something going wrong! You could run out of fuel, for example, or a component breaks down! You also want to think of the problems with confining a hundred people to a space as small as the interior of a spacecraft! Emotions might flare and cause conflicts, jeopardizing the mission! And deep space is the last place you want something to go wrong because you are entirely on your own! So Elon Musk basically needs to find the shortest way to move people to Mars!
    Even when the Starship is not transporting humans to Mars, it makes sense for space trips to be shorter. For example, during space exploration for science, it is important to get data from unmanned missions as soon as possible. Consider that it took Voyager-2 12 years just to reach Neptune, where it snapped some incredible photos as it flew by. If Voyager-2 had a faster propulsion system, astronomers could have had those photos and the information they contained years earlier, moving our knowledge of the universe forward faster!
    Musk has indicated in the past that he is considering different options for powering spacecraft! For instance, he has tweeted about how nuclear powered rockets would be a great area of research for NASA! He has good reasons for this because nuclear systems are faster!

    But why is a nuclear powered Starship faster? To answer this question, let's look at the basics of how rockets work in space currently. Once you manage to escape the Earth's gravitational pull, you have three things to worry about: number one is thrust which is how fast a system can accelerate a ship. Number two is mass efficiency, which is how much thrust a system can produce for a given amount of fuel, and lastly, energy density is how much energy a given amount of fuel can produce.
    The most common propulsion systems in use are chemical propulsion, regular fuel-burning rockets, and solar-powered electric propulsion systems.
    While chemical propulsion systems provide a lot of thrust, chemical rockets aren't particularly efficient. This is because rocket fuel isn't that energy-dense. For instance, the Saturn V rocket that took astronauts to the Moon produced 35 million Newtons of force at liftoff and carried 950,000 gallons of fuel! While most of the fuel was used in getting the rocket into orbit, the limitation is that it takes a lot of heavy fuel to get anywhere.
    The other option uses solar panels to generate thrust using electricity. The most common way to do this is to use an electrical field to accelerate ions, such as in the Hall thruster. These devices are commonly used to power satellites and can have more than five times higher mass efficiency than chemical systems. But they produce much less thrust, like about three Newtons, or only enough to accelerate a car from 0

    If you know Elon Musk, you would most likely know about SpaceX and all its accomplishments. Its aerospace and space exploration endeavors have kept SpaceX in the eyes of the media for quite a while now.

    Elon has always been a big thinker, and he now has his sights on nuclear reactions. Although it has been met with much criticism, his plans are coming along nicely, seeing as they have made so many groundbreaking discoveries. The newest discovery and thing they're working on could change the world and reality as we know it.

    But what are these groundbreaking discoveries? And why will they change the future? Find out as we explore their thought process and progress in this field.

    SpaceX is known worldwide for coming up with maxing innovations that give competitors in every field they touch a run for their money. They disrupt the industries so much by offering something new and more technologically advanced.

    For instance, they have now made mighty space rockets that far outclass previous rocket models made by other producers. Now, their newest developments have been around nuclear reactors. They want you to see atomic reactors for the power transformers they are, not as dangerous elements that would be avoided.

    Nuclear reactors produce about 1 Gigawatt of power on average. These game-changers have been powering America for over six decades, and they continue to do so to this day.


    Sadly, we understand that nuclear reactors have caused some casualties over the years, such as the Chernobyl disaster. The Chernobyl disaster occurred in 1986, and its cause was a design flaw. SpaceX is trying to create a nuclear reactor that does not have this design flaw.

    SpaceX has been around for quite a while now, and it has gotten both appraisal and criticism from many people. Some love all the work and discoveries SpaceX makes, while others think that progress is inadequate. However, if you look closely, you would think of the latter as being valid.

    They are very much interested in what's beyond our earth and trying to terraform other planets for us to live on. They are working towards terraforming Mars, and he believes that a nuclear reactor is the best way to do it. Imagine a world on mars where you had an uninterrupted power supply, coupled with the ambiance and atmosphere in close relation to the earth. You would be able to see much more space from mars, and you would be able to live your life on it.

    Currently, SpaceX is now working on a portable, lightweight nuclear reactor. Not only would this save money, but it would also save a lot of resources and energy. People Like Elon understand this, which is why he's so passionate about achieving this.

    Many people say that these would be called “microreactors,” and they would be fixed in location and size. If what we’re hearing is true, then these nuclear reactors would be able to fit into a shipping container, which is relatively portable.

    Although it works on basically the same principles as a typical nuclear reactor, it operates significantly differently. For example, this atomic reactor will use helium for its cooling system rather than high-pressure water. This replacement alone reduces corrosion, contamination risks, and general pollution.

    Another difference that makes this new version of nuclear reactor better than the traditional ones is that the particles do not melt during the reaction. Naturally, this would lead to lower pollution rates because solid radioactive waste is way easier to deal with than gaseous, vaporized waste.

    Its accomplishments are not unseen, as SpaceX has already begun to receive patents for them. One of these patents decreases the amount of time and money needed to refuel and maintain the reactor, and another is to transfer the heat out of the reactor more efficiently.


    It’s still a prototype right now, but the microreactor can now generate outputs of more than 1MW. To help you understand this further, this amount of energy is enough to power about 1000 homes for eight years. This is excellent news for space lovers, as it means that efforts to terraform Mars have been met with tremendous success.

    If they were to build 1000 homes on mars right now, this single mini-reactor would be able to power all of them. Talk about exciting.

    journey takes will discourage many. Using current rockets, the shortest time to get to
    the Red Planet is five months! And you will have to target a small window that comes
    once in two years! While this piece of information might not mean anything to most
    people, for Elon Musk, it means the failure or success of one of his passionate dreams;
    setting up people to live permanently on Mars! To make the travel to the planet more
    bearable, one of the options Musk is considering is Warp Drive which promises to
    reduce the trip time by a large order of magnitude! What is Warp Drive, and how fast

    Musk has been pushing SpaceX to speed up the development of the Starship! He even
    asked his engineers to sacrifice their Thanksgiving weekend to fix a problem on the
    Raptor rocket engine that powers the Starship! While it is a big deal to some of the
    employees and other non-SpaceX employees, working through the weekend does not
    faze Musk, who has slept on the factory floor of his companies before!
    There is a reason Musk wants the Starship to be done as soon as possible! This is
    because, while NASA is content to wait until 2033 to send an astronaut to Mars, Musk
    wants to do so by 2026, which is just five years away! While you might dismiss the goal
    as Musk is being over optimistic as usual with his target, the billionaire CEO has a worst
    case scenario of putting humans on Mars by 2031, which is still two years earlier than
    NASA's best plan!
    Apart from this, Musk thinks there is a window of opportunity available for humans to
    become inter planetary, and this is the first time the opportunity is possible for humanity.
    He wants to use the chance quickly as he is unsure the window will be available for
    long!
    When you are planning to move one million people from the earth to Mars as Musk
    wants to do within a short time, there are several things to need to consider, which we
    will briefly look at! The first is cost. The first thing to note is that simply having money,
    tonnes of it, will not get you to Mars! As Musk said while on Lex Friedman's interview,
    even with a trillion dollars, right now, you can't fly to Mars! You need the right
    technology, like the Starship that SpaceX is building!
    Even with the right technology, space travel is expensive! In fact, anything involving
    rocket launches is costly! That is because of the nature of rockets, which are
    traditionally one-time-use vehicles. This mode of using rockets is ridiculous, as Musk
    pointed out. It is like buying a new car every time you want to go out! While it is mad
    expensive to do so, it is also complicated because you need a new car built to go out!
    Most people won't be able to afford going out if that is the only way to use cars, which
    sort of is what you get with space travel today that only the ultra rich can indulge in!
    Obviously, that won't work for Musk, who claims there is a particular cost per ton to go
    to Mars that will ensure the city established there can sustain itself. Besides, there might
    not be enough ultra rich volunteers willing to relocate to Mars, so the price has to come
    down for most people watching this video to even consider it!
    However, if there is any company that can reduce the cost of space wandering, it is
    SpaceX! The company already has a reusable rocket, the Falcon 9. But it is only
    partially reusable. The booster comes back and land, but the upper stage is written off,
    which adds at least 10 million dollars to each launch cost! This brings the launch cost to
    between 15 and 20 million dollars without accounting for overhead.
    However, with a reusable spacecraft like the Starship, Musk says you can reduce the
    cost by a factor of a hundred, meaning you could have launches of under two million
    dollars! This is the cost to orbit, and obviously, the cost to Mars will be more. But if you
    do the maths by dividing the total costs by the number of people the Starship can carry,
    which is between 70 and 100, a trip to Mars is not so expensive! In fact, Musk has
    claimed if you want to relocate to Mars, you can fund your ambition by selling your
    house!
    However, even with the lowest price, there is another factor you have to consider when
    going to Mars, time! Apart from astronomical costs, distance is another barrier to deep
    space jaunts! Like it has been mentioned in this video, you need to budget at least five
    months of your life to travel to Mars. This could stretch into a year, depending on when
    you take off. Now, what could happen if you spend five months in space?

    agency want to take people to places in deep space! While the two have different
    reasons for the desire, they both face the same limitation of distance, which makes it
    challenging to build capable spacecraft. To overcome this limitation of having enough
    fuel for space travel, NASA and Musk's company, SpaceX, have revealed a
    revolutionary method of propulsion that keeps rockets going forever and ever into deep
    space! What is this propulsion, how does it work, and how does it affect you? Join us to

    If you are a sci-fi fan, you would have seen space movies where the rocket keeps going
    and going! While much of the film is focused on the conflicts between the characters,
    nothing is usually said about how the rocket is powered! But of course, that is the
    creative freedom movie makers enjoy that allows them to make hit movies that entertain
    us! However, people that actually send rockets to space will tell you it is not always a
    bed of roses out there!
    One sci-fi fan is Musk, the CEO of space exploration company SpaceX. The billionaire
    has the rare privilege of living out his space dreams, unlike the rest of us. That's why
    you will see terms lifted from sci-fi in some of the real life products that he builds. One
    example is the Mechazilla that he says will grab rocket boosters mid-air! However
    audacious the scheme is, even Musk himself admitted it could fail spectacularly, the
    illustrious inventor actually derived the name from the Mechagodzilla, a character from
    the popular Godzilla film franchise!
    Musk, too, wants to cruise people through space, a goal he shares with NASA!
    However, the motivations for the two are different! Musk intends to prepare humanity to
    escape possible catastrophic galactic accidents that could wipe out humanity entirely
    from the Earth! While you might cringe at the possibility and would rather not consider it,
    Musk is a practical man and wants to preserve as much slice of humanity as possible in
    the face of such disasters!
    This is why Musk wants to set up a human outpost on other plants! The motivation is
    strong enough that Musk is building what will be the most powerful rocket in history
    when it is ready! Musk plans to transport at least one million people from Earth to planet
    Mars within a short time so that the community can become self sufficient! Far removed
    from Earth, the new colony will not be affected by any disaster people that refuse to
    leave will face!
    NASA wants to send people to Mars, too, although on a far smaller scale! The agency
    plans to send its astronauts to the Red Planet eventually. Different probes have
    explored the planet, expanding our knowledge of the planet with high-resolution pictures
    of diverse landscapes on Mars. NASA's rovers have been joined by a similar explorer
    by China and might welcome Saudi Arabia's effort too! However, nothing beats having
    boots on the ground, as NASA has done on the moon! In fact, NASA is working with
    SpaceX to resume regular missions to the moon and build bases there. Interestingly,
    NASA has admitted the missions to the moon will be a dress rehearsal for missions to
    Mars! The agency will take any lessons learned on the moon and apply them to Mars!
    The purpose is to hopefully find the purpose and origin of life, starting with trying to
    determine if there is life on Mars.
    Both NASA and SpaceX are banking on the Starship to take their humans to Mars, with
    what is essentially a trial run taking place when NASA uses the Starship to put its
    astronauts on the moon. However, the two entities have their eyes set on other planets
    and planetary bodies that are beyond Mars. NASA wants to send missions to Jupiter
    and its moons!
    However, one problem both NASA and SpaceX have to solve is distance! Anywhere
    you are going to in space is far! The universe exists on such a large scale that moving
    from one planet to another involves millions of miles. For example, the trip to Mars that
    Musk is planning can take up to six months when it takes advantage of the best launch
    window!
    Better still, the closest star to Earth is Proxima Centauri. It is about 4.25 light-years
    away, or about 25 trillion miles or 40 trillion km! The fastest ever spacecraft, the now-in-
    space Parker Solar Probe, will reach a top speed of 450,000 mph. It would take just 20
    seconds to go from Los Angeles to New York City at that speed, but it would take the
    solar probe about 6,633 years to reach Earth's nearest neighboring solar system!

    SpaceX's Starship is destined to go into deep space. It will transport humans to Mars,
    making it the farthest traveled crewed spacecraft ever! However, apart from transporting
    people, the Starship will have another huge function: transporting cargo! As Elon Musk
    has revealed, transporting cargo with the powerful Starship requires a different
    configuration! How much can the Starship carry, and how will SpaceX deploy it for
    cargo transport? Join us as we explore the new Starship Cargo transport as revealed by
    SpaceX!
    Humans have been carrying cargo since the beginning of humanity! Global commerce
    requires that large volumes of freight move from one part of the world to another! In fact,
    each year, about 11 billion tons of cargo is moved by ship, meaning 1.5 tonnes for each
    person alive today! That is just by ship because billions of tonnes more are moved by
    air, rail, and road!
    The need to move cargo, however, is not limited to the earth! When cargos are moved
    to space, they are usually called payloads, and they vary in nature. Some companies
    launch satellites, including SpaceX, which is launching Starlink satellites to orbit to
    provide internet services to people everywhere on earth! It has about 2,000 Starlink
    satellites up there already and won't stop until there are more than 12,000 orbiting the
    earth! SpaceX even delivers cargo to the International Space Station for NASA!
    Musk has set his eyes on the cargo transport sector and plans to revolutionize it! He will
    do so both in space and on the earth! How will he do this? Musk has a not-so-secret
    weapon: the Starship! It is not secret because you can follow along with how the
    Starlink is taking shape right on YouTube through 24 hour cameras! However, while
    your mind will be blown by the massive work the SpaceX crew is doing, you will be
    more amazed by the plans that Musk has for the Starship in the cargo transport
    industry, as you shall see in this video! But first, what makes the Starship a good vehicle
    for transporting large cargo? At least four things!
    First is that the Starship is very powerful. In fact, it is the most powerful rocket ever to be
    built! The rocket produces 72 MN of trust, thanks to its collection of Raptor engines!
    With this much power, the Starship can lift more than 100 tons of cargo to space,
    handily beating every other rocket, including the Falcon series! This extraordinary
    capacity makes the Starship the darling of the cargo hauling industry as it will allow you
    to carry as much as you want!
    Secondly, the Starship has a large volume, allowing it to fit in cargos of different sizes!
    The payload volume is a massive 1,100 meter cubed and can fit a load up to 18 meters
    in height and 9 meters in width, much more than what other rockets offer currently!
    The third is speed! The Starship moves at a blistering speed of 16,777 miles per hour!
    This will allow it to cover long distances in a short time! To put this speed in proper
    context, the typical commercial passenger jet flies at a speed of about 400 to 500 knots,
    which is about 460 to 575 miles per hour! There really is no contest here, as the
    Starship will leave all cargo aircraft in the dust!
    There is one other important reason that makes the Starship perfect for transporting
    cargo, and it is the cost! Rockets have traditionally been one expensive method to
    transport cargo, and that is because of how they operate! They are basically one-use
    items, meaning you discard the rocket after each launch! Imagine being able to use
    your car once! That means you need to purchase a new vehicle each time you need to
    go out! Anyway, with rockets being so expensive to build, transporting cargo with them
    has remained very expensive!
    Musk, however, is working his way around that limitation! The Starship is fully reusable,
    meaning you can operate it like airlines do with their planes! SpaceX had been working
    towards this full reusability with the Falcon rockets, which are partially reusable. The
    company salvages their booster, refurbishes them, and fires them up again! In the case
    of the Starship, the two stages can be reflown many times! In fact, Musk expects the
    booster to be ready for another flight in under an hour!
    With this reusability, the cost of launches crashes to about 2 million dollars, a lot less
    than the competition is doing! Yet, this is just the starting point because Musk plans to
    drive the cost down further!
    So, how will Musk use the Starship for transporting cargo? There are two areas of
    application that Musk is considering! The first is space cargo movement!

    When building the tallest and most powerful spacecraft in the world, most people will be
    so consumed that every other thing can wait. But that is not the kind of person Elon
    Musk is! While building the Starship, the pinnacle of rocket design, the forward thinking
    billionaire CEO is already working on the next version of the Starship! How large and
    powerful is the Starship 2.0, what does it offer, and why does Musk need it?
    The Starship 2.0 is finally happening, and we bring you all the juicy details!
    If you plan to take people from this planet to another planet, you need to put a lot of
    things in place! This is the situation Musk is in as he is fired up to set up a colony on the
    Red Planet. The most important aspect he needs to work out is transport! The Earth
    and planet Mars are millions of miles apart, and he needs to get people there alive in
    the fastest way. Since this is a money intensive operation, Musk has to find the most
    affordable way to move people between planets! Else, the project will be abandoned
    due to prohibitive costs!
    However, apart from humans, Musk has to transport tons of other things! Mars is a
    harsh environment, and to keep humans alive, Musk has to move lots of supplies in
    advance! To complicate matters, Musk wants to move millions of volunteers in a short
    time so that the new colony can sustain itself! That means transporting tonnes of food
    items, house or shelter building materials, drugs, etc.!
    The logistics are overwhelming, but Musk is on top of the situation! Frankly, there is no
    existing rocket that can handle all these without running up an enormous bill. To fix the
    transportation angle, Musk has conceived the largest and most powerful spacecraft, the
    Starship, which the SpaceX crew is developing and testing at a rapid pace in Starbase,
    SpaceX’s facilities located in Boca Chica, Texas. The facility, apart from hosting the
    development of the Starship, Starbase is where all the workers will live. Those who will
    travel on the rocket to Mars will be hosted there, too, in addition to tourists who simply
    want to want the awesome power of a launch! Starbase is going to be a beehive of
    activities!
    The star attraction, however, is the Starship! It is huge! It stands 120 meters tall when
    the upper and lower stages are assembled, and 9 meters in diameter! In terms of
    power, the space industry has never seen anything like it! Powered by more than 30
    rocket engines specially designed by SpaceX, the Starbase is capable of lifting
    payloads of more than 100 metric tonnes to Earth orbit! The upper stage or the Ship is
    the part that will go to deep space! It has the capacity for 1200 tonnes of propellant so
    that it can have enough fuel to reach its destination. The Ship stands at 50 meters tall,
    with 18 meters of it dedicated to the payload. The total volume available for payloads is
    1,100 meter cubed.
    To meet Musk’s needs, SpaceX will configure the Starship as cargo or crew. The latter
    will transport humans while the former will carry cargo only. Other configurations will act
    as fuel tanks.
    The Starship will be used for other purposes by clients such as NASA and the US Army,
    but we won’t go into that in this video.
    The lower stage, or the Super Heavy booster, is even taller, at 70 meters! It will carry
    3400 tonnes of propellant to help the Ship escape the Earth’s gravitational pull! It will
    produce a thrust of 72 MN! Both the Ship and Super Heavy are completely reusable, a
    feature Musk plans to use to reduce the cost of his scheme. However, reusability
    complicates the design of the Starship.
    Before we get into the Starship 2.0 proper, with the size and power of the Starship,
    many people will not see why a Version 2 is needed. But of course, there is a need for a
    bigger Starship! Take, for instance, launching a Starship and getting it ready to travel to
    Mars. The process will require four Starship tankers to fuel the Starship heading to
    Mars. Else, there won’t be enough fuel to get there! This refueling means a lot of

    Humanity has dreamed of crossing the astronomical distances separating us
    from the ultimate alien destinations for centuries, ever since we realized that
    every star we see in the night sky is a Sun just like ours, with possibly its
    solar system, planets, and maybe even life.
    Even the closest star is more than four light-years away, while NASA's Juno
    mission achieved the fastest speed a human-built spacecraft has ever
    traveled at, that is at 74 km/sec (46 mi/sec). Even at that rate, reaching the
    nearest star would take more than 4,000 years.
    We have a problem with our human drive to travel everywhere and examine
    everything in space. This is a significant problem. After all, it is space. It's
    way too big. Even if we traveled at the fastest possible speed, it would take
    us years to reach our nearest star.
    Elon Musk's private spaceflight business SpaceX was founded with the idea
    of making life multi-planetary. He claims that relocating humans to other
    worlds, such as Mars, could save humanity in the event of a calamity on
    Earth, such as a massive asteroid hit.
    In 2016, Elon Musk said that there would be two paths for history to take.
    One option is that we stay on Earth indefinitely, with an ultimate extinction
    event. The alternative is to become a spacefaring civilization, and a multi-
    planet species, which he hopes we would agree is the right way to go.
    The SpaceX founder has frequently expressed his desire to develop
    settlements on Mars. Payments, he says, would require a significant number
    of people to become self-sustaining.
    To make this fantasy a reality, a capable automobile is needed. Still, the
    current limits of our technology and physics laws are the two limiting factors
    of space travel. Advances in fields such as laser sails, nuclear rather than
    chemical propulsion, or producing and controlling antimatter or dark matter
    could provide a game-changing technological breakthrough, and they appear
    to be close.
    Another human desire is to find solutions to significant problems. NASA
    engineer David Burns has been doing precisely that in his spare time. He
    claims to have built an engine that can accelerate to 99 percent the speed of
    light without fuel.
    He has posted it to NASA's Technical Reports Server under the name Helical
    Engine, It works on paper by exploiting how mass may change at relativistic
    speeds, which are close to the speed of light in a vacuum. It hasn't been
    professionally reviewed yet.
    This story has created curiosity comparable to that seen in the early days of
    the EM Drive, which is understandable. Yes, there have been reports that the
    engine may 'defy physics.'
    To put things in perspective, the EM Drive was NASA's initial step into the
    idea of really trying to develop a faster-than-light engine. So, what exactly is
    the EM Drive?
    EM Drive is a radio frequency resonant cavity thruster concept first
    developed in 2001 by Roger Shawyer, a British Chartered Electrical Engineer
    with 48 years of experience in the Space and Defence industries.
    Internally reflected microwaves are said to generate thrust, violating the law
    of conservation of momentum and other fundamental considerations. The
    device has been dubbed the Impossible Drive by the media.
    Explanations for how the EmDrive might work go beyond what is known
    about physics. Perhaps it's interacting with the vacuum energy of space-
    quantum time, even though space-quantum time doesn't allow anything to
    push off of it.

    Space transportation technology is set to trigger a revolution in the military's
    capabilities to defend the United States and its allies, as well as inflict
    mayhem and death on any adversary attempting to wage war on the United
    States. The US military is investing funds to investigate how SpaceX's
    Starship rocket could be used to transport 100 tons of freight, personnel, and
    supplies across the globe in minutes.

    At its Texas facility, SpaceX has been testing Starship prototypes, most
    recently landing and recovering prototype SN15 following a high-altitude
    flight test. While SpaceX is attempting a feat no other rocket has
    accomplished — quickly reusing rockets to make spaceflight more like air
    travel rather than the traditional approach of discarding the rocket after
    launch — the most recent high-altitude flight test was the first to end without
    the prototype exploding.
    SpaceX's Starship is the company's most ambitious and largest endeavor
    yet. The Starship spacecraft and the Super Heavy rocket are combined to
    become Starship. The spacecraft/rocket combination has the capability of
    lifting 110 tons of payload into low-Earth orbit. The C-17 Globemaster III
    transport plane of the United States Air Force has a higher tonnage. SpaceX
    believes the rocket could be used for point-to-point space transportation,
    delivering people and freight between any two sites on Earth, in addition to
    launching cargo into space.
    Point-to-point space travel is a mode of transportation in which a rocket is
    launched into space and then returns to a different site, theoretically
    allowing goods or people to be transported from one side of the Earth to the
    other in less than an hour. A point-to-point starship would function similarly
    to a ballistic missile: once launched, it would accelerate into low-earth orbit
    before rocketing to a distant landing site. At around 18,000 miles per hour, a
    starship would be significantly faster than any existing transportation
    system. Like a nuclear bomb, the Starship spaceship would de-orbit over its
    target but land safely thanks to its rocket engines. With acceleration and
    deceleration on both ends, a trip from Nebraska to the United Arab Emirates
    would take around half an hour.
    The Starship's role as a point-to-point cargo mover could be only the
    beginning of the SpaceX rocket ship's missions. Having the ability to supply
    supplies to any location in the world in less than an hour would undoubtedly
    benefit the military. Making the Starship work as a cargo ship would present
    significant challenges. A single insurgent with a ground-to-air missile could
    make a landing a conflagration.
    The Motley Fool, a private investment advisory firm, is extremely optimistic
    about the Starship's military capabilities. The SpaceX rocket ship might be
    used for a range of military missions, ranging from low Earth orbit to near
    the moon, according to the corporation. Starship might be employed as a
    transportable, adaptable reconnaissance platform, with six vacuum-
    optimized Raptor engines to get it where it needs to go.
    In times of war, the SpaceX Starship might be used to strike enemy space
    assets and defend American satellites and other space-based installations,
    among other military objectives. The rocket ship may refuel American
    satellites, allowing them to continue to operate for longer periods. It could
    even be used to assist in the removal of debris from space. As a result, the

    on such a note means Tesla is getting closer to Musk's ambition of making electric

    Apart from the four cars Tesla is currently selling, it may add four other electric vehicles
    to its roster soon! There is the Cybertruck, the electric vehicle to cater to the pickup
    truck-loving crowd that boasts 500 miles per charge and a body made of steel. It
    promises to be a massive success going by the number of pre-orders! Tesla will also
    finally start making the Tesla Semi. This battery-powered Class 8 truck will change the
    logistics sector, and big names like PepsiCo are eagerly waiting to turn their pre-orders
    into actual deliveries!
    Tesla will also resurrect the electric car that started it all, the Roadster! The high
    performance is coming back sleeker and more powerful than ever, with mind-blowing
    acceleration and long-lasting driving range! It also has improvements like seating for
    four and a removable glass roof! And this time, it is built from the ground up as an
    electric car, entirely in-house by Tesla's team!
    Also rumored to be coming soon is the car for the masses, the Model 2, which Musk
    has confirmed will not be called the Model 2! It has been Musk's dream to build a
    practical electric vehicle that costs $25,000! He expects this car to push the adoption of
    zero-emission mobility further because it will be affordable for more people. This car
    had proved elusive, but Tesla has finally got it right after setting up a research center in
    China dedicated to the car!
    Looking through Tesla's current and upcoming vehicles, you will notice that a category
    lacks! This category is an electric van! This omission is glaring as vans are a category
    of automobiles that sell a lot! ACEA estimates that there are over 28 million vans on
    European roads alone, with more than 6 billion euros worth of vans sold in 2020! These
    vehicles are crucial to the economy because they are primarily used by SME's as tools
    and account for more than 80 percent of sales in units of the commercial vehicle
    market, a segment that also includes trucks, heavy trucks, buses, and coaches. Large
    companies like Amazon, USPS, FedEx, etc., use vans heavily in delivering packages to
    online shoppers. They are also great for moving household items and work equipment!
    So, vans are a category waiting for Tesla to disrupt!
    That is not to say Musk is not thinking about vans already. In an early 2021 interview,
    Musk revealed that Tesla could not resist making an electric van!

    Tesla Electric Van Could Become A Reality, According To Elon Musk (insideevs.com)
    In fact, the CEO has specced out the Tesla van in interviews! For instance, in a podcast
    with Joe Rogan, who he likes to hang out with, Musk mentioned some of the van's
    features! Remember Tesla makes excellent solar panels? Well, Musk is putting solar
    panels on the electric van. Why does Musk want to put solar panels on the electric van?
    He told Rogan that, unlike a car where the surface area is limited and will not yield
    much energy, a van has a big flat surface area, making solar panels on vehicles more
    practical! But Musk won't just put panels on the flat roof because he has looked for ways
    to extend the number of panels that the van can take, thereby increasing the total
    energy produced! The van has roofs that can slide out from the side when the van is
    stationary, expanding the surface area exposed to the sun by a factor of three! This will
    net you 30 extra miles of range per day!
    This makes the Tesla van very useful for campers or people that live permanently in
    their vans. They will be able to charge their vehicle literally anywhere they can find the
    sun!

    company of Mercedes-Benz, in the form of a 50 million dollars investment, representing
    a 10 percent stake! Now, Tesla is returning the favor by buying Mercedes completely!
    Why is Tesla buying Mercedes, and what are the benefits of the purchase to Tesla?

    If you look at the table of automobile companies ranked by their market capitalizations,
    you will notice the steep drop from the first to the second position! Tesla occupies the
    top stop, hovering near a trillion-dollar valuation. The company had even spent weeks in
    the exclusive trillion-dollar valuation club occupied by Google, Apple, Amazing, Saudi
    Aramco, and Microsoft! However, Musk having to sell his shares is taking a toll on the
    stock price.
    The effect, however, doesn't bring the second company, Toyota, any closer to Tesla as
    the Asian company is worth only a quarter of a trillion dollars! This is despite Toyota
    selling millions of cars per year while Tesla is yet to have a million-unit production year
    in all of its existence! Daimler, the parent company of Mercedes, is further down the list
    with less than 10 percent of Tesla's market share. This might sound like the most
    extraordinary anomaly, as a company many decades old is overshadowed by a startup
    yet to celebrate its second decade anniversary! This has not always been the case.
    Daimler, for example, once invested 50 million dollars in Tesla, which meant a ten
    percent stake in the startup! This was back in 2010. The investment was enough to get
    a Daimler rep on the board. Daimler would cash out massively later, selling its shares in
    Tesla for 780 million dollars less than five years later! Imagine, for a second, that
    Daimler had held on to its shares! The value would be worth more than the company's
    whole value itself, at close to 100 billion dollars!
    Interestingly, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, revealed Daimler was on the leading edge of
    the field of sustainable mobility and was a leader in the lithium-ion pouch cell battery
    development, and it interested Tesla! Daimler actually founded the Deutsche
    Accumotive GmbH, a joint venture with Evonik Industries AG. As a result, Daimler is the
    first vehicle manufacturer worldwide that develops, produces, and markets batteries for
    automotive applications. This was based on a Daimler stockholding in Li-Tec, the
    German specialist for lithium-ion battery cells. But how times have changed in regards
    to battery production! Now, it is Tesla in pole position where batteries are concerned!
    Tesla and Daimler have had productive collaborations in the past. Even Musk admitted
    that Daimler's engineering, production, and supply chain expertise would accelerate
    bringing the Tesla Model S to production and ensure that it was a superlative vehicle on
    all levels, which did happen! The Model S was another watershed moment in the history
    of Tesla!
    Daimler and Tesla first started working together over a decade ago, with Musk's electric
    automaker providing lithium-ion battery packs and charging technology for a Daimler
    electric smart car. Tesla also provided Mercedes with the electric powertrains used to
    power the electric Mercedes-Benz A-Class and B-Class electric cars before Daimler
    divested from the company in 2014!
    There is another reason a takeover of Daimler by Tesla is not so strange a possibility as
    it might first appear to be! This is because things have changed so much in the auto-
    making industry that German auto giants are afraid of Tesla!

    This is why its Falcon series of rockets is partially reusable. After separating from the
    upper stage, the booster returns to the Earth to be refurbished for another flight! The
    financial implications of being able to reuse the Falcon 9, for example, is interesting!
    Musk himself revealed how the money aspect works out on Twitter. Michael Baylor,
    known as @nextspaceflight, on Twitter posted that United Launch Alliance claimed a
    booster had to fly 10 times for reusing it to make sense economically. He noted that
    SpaceX had reflown the Falcon 9 six times, apparently thinking the company has four
    more flights to go before it could completely recoup its booster investment.

    However, Musk corrected Baylor that by reflying a booster three times, you have made
    up the cost of the booster! This is not strange because he had earlier revealed that the
    booster stage accounted for 60 percent of the total launch costs. So if you can get your
    boosters back, it is a big deal! In the same Twitter thread, Musk revealed that a booster
    could fly up to 100 times! That is a lot of times to recover a booster!
    SpaceX changed the rocket game by recovering its first first-stage booster in 2015. The
    success was thanks to a series of upgrades the company provided to its workhorse
    Falcon 9. Featuring a more robust thermal protection system, titanium grid fins, and a
    more durable interstage, i.e., the part that connects the rocket's two stages, the souped-
    up Falcon 9 rocket of today is capable of flying many times over.
    Now, recovering a booster is not an easy task because these boosters do land out at
    sea! Before we go into how SpaceX recovers its boosters from the sea, why exactly
    does SpaceX land its boosters in the sea?
    It all comes down to fuel. You need a great deal of fuel to land the first stage on the
    ground by reigniting its engine and reducing its speed from more than 8,000 km per
    hour or 5,000 miles per hour down to zero! For low-orbit trips, this does not pose much
    of a problem. But for more prolonged trips, landing on the ground is not an option.
    For example, launches for missions beyond Earth's orbit, like a SpaceX's spacecraft
    going to Mars, require a higher velocity and, thus, more speed and less fuel available
    for a landing!
    Using a launch in Florida as an example, the rocket goes from Florida and heads East
    over the Atlantic Ocean; a sea landing reduces the travel distance back to Earth to
    perform a landing, as the rocket doesn't have to travel as far.
    This means for more ambitious launches, SpaceX can't return its first stage of the rocket
    to land. As Musk put it at a conference, For half our missions, we will need to land out
    to sea. Anything beyond Earth is likely to need to land on the ship.
    While the main motivation for sea landing is logistics, it is safer to land on the sea
    because things can go wrong, resulting in mighty explosions. On land, this could be a
    risk to facilities and staff nearby.
    So, while landing at sea is more complicated, SpaceX just has to do it!
    Now, if you simply drop your rocket into the sea, you will probably lose it to irreversible
    damage. This is where a key component of SpaceX's reusable operation, the droneship,

    Musk dreams of taking millions of people to mars to live permanently there. His Starship can only take 100 passengers at a time on a trip that may last up to 9 months. Can nuclear energy powered Starships make the process faster?
    This is a sneak peek into how switching the insane Starship’s power source to nuclear energy can cut the journey down into weeks.
    The Starship is an amazing piece of engineering. It is insanely large, fast, completely reusable and both stages can land in an upright position.
    Even NASA believes in it as it has contracted SpaceX to use it to land NASA astronauts on the moon. And the US military wants to use it for ultra rapid transport of cargo here on the earth.
    However, the Starship is destined for longer trips. Both SpaceX and NASA are banking on it to take them to mars, albeit for different reasons.
    Here, the limits of the Starship becomes obvious. Due to the constraints of using normal rocket fuel, the Starship may take up to 9 months and an insane amount of propellant on a one way trip.
    This is far from ideal for Musk’s plans, for several reasons.
    The most obvious one is Musk’s dream of transplanting enough people on the planet in a short enough time to form a self sustaining society.
    As stated by Musk himself, that goal requires getting millions of people across the vast space between the two planets in a relatively short time.
    However, depending on the alignment of the planets, a single one way trip can last 9 months. With 100 colonists taking off at a time, the best result the Starship can deliver is a trickle of mars arrivers.
    To get to the scale intended by Musk, faster transportation is a necessity.
    There are other practical reasons why there is a need for speed in the grand plan to take over mars.
    For instance, radiation. This is a point of pain for engineers designing crewed spaceships for extended trips.
    Radiation is everywhere when you operate in space. Even SpaceX realizes this and plans to build a radiation shelter into the passenger carrying variants of the Starship.
    That’s a nice move but the more time you spend out there, the more you are exposed to a high dose of radiation and the accompanying health issue, which are serious and could mar any mars exploration dreams.
    Cancer from the radiation is a real risk for ventures like this. Or sterility, which would be a serious blow to any hope of expanding the Mars human population through procreation.
    The best way out of this is simply to make the trip faster, which looks doubtful as dictated by the chemistry of burning propellants.
    And while Musk wants to put people permanently on mars, NASA is heading there to collect data. Even for unmanned voyages, it is important to get data as quick as possible to justify the huge resources required.
    If the Starship makes it to mars, NASA is ready to deploy it to even farther destinations like Neptune. The last time such a thing happened, it took the spaceship, the Voyager-2, twelve years to get there and it only took a handful of stunning pictures during a flyby.
    That is enough time for the government of the country to have changed hands and for missions to be cancelled!
    If the Voyager-2 had been capable of going faster, astronomers would have gotten their pictures and data faster and even initiated follow up missions.
    There is also the problem of carrying enough fuel for long trips. An enormous amount of propellant to needed to escape the pull of the earth. Once that happens, the spaceship may not have enough fuel to go anywhere.
    SpaceX is fixing this by setting up a series of space fueling stations to replenish the Starship. But that simply makes the process more complicated and more expensive as it involves about half a dozen other Starships to get a single one fully loaded for Mars.
    Space is a massive place and everything is far away, so if you plan to go anywhere, you have to go really fast.
    So what can SpaceX do to make the Starship go faster?
    There are a couple of options actually.
    One of such is using solar sails. But is it any faster?
    Here is how solar sails work: you have probably seen sails moving boats forward when wind pushes the sails. The wind consists of air particles that having enough momentum to displace the sails of the ship.
    Light from the sun is comprised of photons, which despite not having mass, possess momentum. So if SpaceX fixes enough sails on the Starship, photons from the sun hitting the sails will propel the Starship forward.

    the year, a time Tesla usually has the most deliveries! Also, Tesla faced the same chip
    shortage issues multiple industries faced globally, but it was able to react faster and do
    a workaround. Tesla also became the first and only automobile company to be valued at
    over trillion dollars, thanks to news about popular car rental company, Hertz, placing an
    order for 100,000 units of Model 3! The trillion-dollar record appears to be remaining in
    place for some time, judging by the worth of the rest of the automobile companies! In
    the same year, the Giga Factory in Shanghai, China, hit its stride, pumping out
    hundreds of thousands of electric cars.
    Personally, Musk became the richest man alive, overtaking his arch-rival, Jeff Bezos, by
    a wide margin. This was largely thanks to Tesla's stock price that continues to soar on
    the back of good performance.
    Despite all these successes, Musk and Tesla remain focused on Musk's goal, which is
    to make electric vehicles the sole means of mobility as soon as possible. Musk wants to
    produce 30 million vehicles per year by 2030 to meet anticipated demand! Right now,
    Tesla sells four models, the Model 3, Model Y, Model X, and Model S.
    The overwhelming majority of Tesla's sales were made up of Model 3 and Model Y.
    However, Musk and Tesla realize that these four models do not adequately meet the
    needs of all potential EV owners! To address this issue, Musk has revealed five new
    Tesla cars for 2022! This means 2022 is going to be one busy and rewarding year for
    both Musk and Tesla and could end up being a big turning point for the company!

    adding features or clearing bugs, just like Microsoft updates your personal computer or
    Apple releases an update for your iPhone! Speaking of software, Tesla is the leader in
    auto software! Tesla has, in the past, unlocked more battery capacity over the air,
    although not everybody liked the idea! Over the years, Tesla has refined its user
    interface so much that drivers use it without even thinking about it! Tesla even has
    games for you to play on your center console and Netflix for the times you want to chill
    inside your car! While that might be controversial sometimes, it shows how seriously
    Tesla takes software! That’s not to talk of hidden Easter eggs that make the ownership
    experience much more exciting!
    This is why Musk said the Model S was not a car but a sophisticated computer on
    wheels! Here is how Musk described Tesla, “Tesla is a software company as much as it
    is a hardware company. A huge part of what Tesla is, is a Silicon Valley software
    company. We view this the same as updating your phone or your laptop.”

    That was back in 2015! Since then, Tesla has improved in both hardware and software,
    but the company is still as focused on the software! Most recently, Tesla’s AI head,
    Andrej Karpathy, describes Tesla's car like this: “We are effectively building a synthetic
    animal from the ground up. The car can be thought of as an animal. It moves around
    autonomously, senses the environment, and acts autonomously.”
    One aspect that has been driving Tesla’s innovation in the computing space is its self-
    driving technology! Many Tesla owners swear by the self-driving capabilities of their
    cars! While the capabilities are amazing, a Tesla car driving itself or working
    autonomously requires large amounts of computing power! However, using existing
    computing technologies is providing Tesla with sub-par results. And as usual, when
    Musk can’t get what he wants, he builds it! This is why Tesla unveiled the near-quantum
    Dojo, a supercomputer it built in-house by Tesla!
    The near-quantum computer Dojo is every bit a supercomputer. It is very complex and
    powerful. Tesla required a computer platform for taking its self-driving technology to the
    next level but, since Musk could not shop for what he needed, he made the near-
    quantum computerDojo, powered by the Dojo D1 chip, which provides stunning
    bandwidth and compute performance. This is what will train Tesla’s massive neural
    networks. But the company has hinted they might provide Dojo its near-quantum
    computing to other companiess developing AI in the near future, bringing the benefits of
    Dojo to more of humanity!
    Tesla is building Dojo its near-quantum supercomputer to handle the massive amount of
    video data captured from over their large fleet of existing vehicles, which it uses to train
    its neural nets. Tesla was not satisfied with other HPC or High-Performance Computing
    options for training its computer vision neural nets and decided they could create a
    better platform.

    Electric vehicles are the future! They are quiet, do not pollute, are more reliable, and are
    cheaper to maintain. They are also very modern!
    Tesla electric vehicles are especially great as they are class-leading, with some of the
    longest ranges and best performances. However, the car is simply overkill for some
    trips, and something more portable would be adequate. Other times, it just doesn't make
    sense to get your car on the road.
    For these times mentioned, a bicycle would do. Say you are going down the street
    alone or the weather is great, and you would like to explore the neighborhood. Why
    drag out the beastly Tesla Model S Plaid charging in the carport? Or your teenager that
    can't drive yet.
    The scenarios where a bike is great are endless. And if you would rather ride a Tesla-
    branded electric bicycle, you are in luck, as your favorite company has unveiled an
    electric bike. Tesla is not the first automobile company to make an electric bike, as
    Ducati and Harley-Davidson do so too. Even BMW has one, and Mercedes is not
    averse to making one!
    Electric bicycles are an interesting proposition as they aim to improve what has existed
    for decades. They should not be confused with electric motorcycles, as you still need to
    pedal, only that you do not need to use as much strength. With electric motors, you can
    navigate rougher terrains with less difficulty. Electric bicycles make excellent mountain
    bikes.
    Many electric bicycle startups exist, with each trying to corner the market with a variety
    of models, from premium models that cost a lot to budget models that will get you to
    your destination without all the bells and whistles.
    Some traditional bike makers are trying to get on the battery-powered bicycle trend too.
    However, if any company can make an incredible electric bike, it is Tesla. The EV
    maker has a great design team and can even attract talents from within the industry. Or
    it could buy up an existing electric bike company, and Musk would mold it into what he
    wants.
    Which brings us to another question of why would Tesla want to make an electric
    bicycle? Its stated goal is to help humankind move to zero-emission mobility from
    internal combustion engines with all its pollution. Bicycles don't produce carbon
    emissions, to start with.
    However, there is something about Musk, a principle that runs through how he operates
    all his companies. Musk wants things done as efficiently and less expensive as
    possible! That principle shows in how he approaches problem-solving.
    If Musk sees that riding an electric bike is more efficient and cost-effective than driving
    an electric car, you can be sure Musk will be persuaded to do it! And that is the case
    anyway, as electric bicycles are way less expensive to ride over short distances than
    driving an electric car!
    But that's not all the reason Tesla would make an electric bicycle because the electric
    car maker simply enjoys making accessories for its vehicles! For example, remember
    the ATV that accompanied the Cybertruck during its unveiling? Tesla has promised to
    make the ATV available for purchase with the Cybertruck.
    As an accessory, the Model B will appeal to Tesla electric vehicles who prefer an active
    lifestyle and love to ride on nature bicycle trails. It could make for an interesting
    weekend get-aways by driving to rural bike trails and hopping on their bikes.
    At any rate, Musk had several years back hinted Tesla would make an electric bicycle!
    So what does the electric Tesla bicycle look like? First, the name of the bicycle is Model
    B which follows how Tesla generally names its cars.
    Like any product you would expect to have passed through Tesla, the Model B is a
    sleek device that turns heads everywhere it goes. It goes against normal bicycle design,
    although it is not as polarizing as the Cybertruck design.
    The Model B is predominantly white, just like the base model of Tesla cars before it
    introduced the Midnight Silver Metallic coat.

    As a very innovative company, patents are the norm at Tesla. The company files
    patents all the time to protect its intellectual properties. However, there is a new Tesla
    patent that Elon has just revealed, which will help it cut down costs by 33 percent! What
    is this patent, and how does it help Tesla to cut costs?
    Join us as we examine how Elon Musk finally reveals the new Tesla Patent that
    changes everything!
    Due to Musk's dream of reducing environmental pollution caused by internal combustion
    engine vehicles, Tesla plans to make many electric vehicles! Using 2020 as a base year
    where the company produced almost half a million electric cars, Tesla plans to increase
    its production by 50 percent every year! That means Tesla will make nothing less than
    750,000 electric vehicles this year and more than a million next year! By 2030, Musk
    wants to be producing 20 million cars per year! That is a huge jump from where Tesla is
    currently, but the richest man alive is determined and will not let anything stop in!
    Some of the electric models that will make up the millions of vehicles are still on the
    way. They include the Cybertruck electric pickup truck, which has been claimed to have
    anywhere between 1,000,000 and 2,000,000 preorders! Tesla is also developing the
    Tesla Semi truck for hauling products. There is also the rumored Model 2, which Musk
    has said would not be called the Model 2. This is the cheap 25,000 dollars electric
    vehicle that Musk has always wanted to make. It will be a mass-market vehicle that will
    be sold in millions to people on a budget to bring them into the electric fold.
    These new vehicles will join Tesla's existing models like the Model 3, Model Y, Model X,
    and Model S! There is also the Roadster, which Tesla is bringing back!
    All these cars require batteries to work. In fact, the Cybertruck and Tesla Semi require
    bigger battery packs because of the extra weight that they will bear and their specific
    use cases!
    Sourcing these batteries will only get harder, as more companies are beginning to make
    electric vehicles, too, to meet growing demand. The big guns are already making moves
    to secure their battery supplies ahead of the upcoming crunch! Take Volkswagen, for
    example, which is trying to escape from the pit of a scandal it plunged itself into by
    cheating on emissions tests. The company is determined to catch up with and beat
    Tesla by using Tesla's own methods! It organized its own Power Day, where it talked
    about batteries across its many brands and revealed its strategy for the future. That
    strategy involves making big investments in six battery plants in Europe to the tune of
    29 billion dollars! Essentially, Volkswagen is also becoming a battery maker to lock
    down its battery supply! Its goal is to reduce battery cell costs by 50 percent through
    mass production!
    General Motors have also tried to ensure it gets enough batteries for its planned
    accelerated expansion into electric vehicles. GM will release 25 electric models by
    2025, including the Hummer EV truck and SUV, the F-150 Lightning electric pickup
    truck, and the Cadillac Lyric. The American company is teaming up with LG Chem to
    make the Ultium batteries that will power the upcoming EVs, which GM will start
    delivering this December with the Hummer EV truck. However, that is after it and LG
    Chem have cleared up the huge mess of the Chevy Bolt recall, which is due to possible
    defects in the batteries supplied by LG Chem!
    As forward thinking as these electric vehicle makers are about batteries, Tesla remains
    ahead of the industry! It has spent the last couple of years working on a new battery
    which it revealed at its Battery Day event last year. The new battery, called the 4680
    battery, is an improvement on many fronts compared to Tesla's older battery.
    The 4680 battery can pack more active material in the same battery pack sizes,
    increasing its energy density. The battery is also lighter and can be produced for less
    and faster. To crown it all, the new battery is safer as it is less likely to catch fire!
    Tesla is teaming up with its old partner, Panasonic, to make the new batteries, but it will
    make them on its own too!
    An important ingredient in this new battery is lithium. The issue with lithium is that the
    world needs a large amount of it to function! It is present almost of the batteries
    powering the electronics around you! If you are watching this video on a laptop, tablet,
    or phone, you have lithium to thank because it is what makes the batteries powering the
    devices work!

    nuclear reactor that can be easily erected in cities and provide power to

    Nuclear energy is also a hot topic at SpaceX, Elon Musk's space company
    and there are still ongoing plans to colonize Mars, which will necessitate a
    transportable source of energy. And contrary to popular belief, Elon Musk
    believes modern nuclear power plants are safe. According to him, he truly
    believes that nuclear power can be made to be very, very safe and it's going
    to be about fission and not fusion like we might have expected.
    Nuclear fission is the process used in conventional nuclear reactors and it's a
    process by which neutron slams into a larger atom, splitting it into two
    smaller atoms and releasing energy in a fission reaction. And the reaction of
    fusion is the inverse of fission, in which smaller atoms collide and fuse to
    form a larger atom, releasing energy. The sun generates energy through a
    process called fusion.
    Some argue that fusion is a safer technique to generate nuclear energy than
    fission since fission produces radioactive waste that can last a long time, and
    fusion does not produce long-lived radioactive waste, among other reasons.
    However, with current technology, the problem with fusion is that it
    consumes all of the energy it generates in order to maintain its reaction,
    leaving no net energy to power other devices. Several companies are
    attempting to commercialize fusion energy, but none have proven successful
    so far.
    Elon Musk, on the other hand, has long advocated for the use of nuclear
    power. However, Elon Musk did not go into detail on how nuclear power
    facilities may be made extremely safe. However, Radiant, a firm founded by
    former SpaceX engineers, is working on the world's first portable, zero-
    emissions power source that can provide power to isolated locations while
    also allowing for easy installation of new units in crowded areas. Radiant's
    under development technology will give nuclear reactors a whole new level
    of portability. In the form of relatively lightweight, cost-effective
    microreactors, nuclear power is becoming more portable

    Hello Folks! Welcome back to our YouTube channel. Going to Mars will take at least five months, according to Elon Musk, which is far too long. He has, however, devised a brilliant plan to reduce the journey to just 100 days or even less. Join us as we delve into SpaceX's Nucleus Starship, which is finally occurring, to find out what this method is and how it works.

    If you're planning a journey to Mars, you should start by figuring out how you'll get from Earth to the red planet. Even if you pick the best time to go, which only happens once in a while when the two planets are in the optimal alignment, you'll spend the next five months traveling millions of miles. Space is vast, and getting somewhere takes a long time.

    When it comes to space travel, humanity has had to make do with a massive fuel-burning rocket, but this limits where we may go due to the quantity of energy required and the length of time it will take. SpaceX is developing a spaceship that will transport humans to Mars, but while the current spacecraft can carry a lot of goods, it will not dramatically reduce journey time, since Musk recognizes that no one wants to spend five months traveling between Earth and Mars. This is due to the numerous risks, such as humans on a mission to Mars being exposed to extremely high quantities of radiation, which can result in major long-term health issues such as cancer and sterility. Musk wants explorers to arrive as healthy and fruitful as possible when they travel to colonize a new country. Radiation shielding can help, but it's cumbersome, and the longer the mission lasts, the more shielding is required.

    Elon Musk essentially wants to figure out how to get people to Mars in the shortest amount of time. Even if the starship is not transporting humans to Mars, it makes sense for space trips to be shorter. For example, during space exploration for science, it is critical to get data from unmanned missions as soon as possible, given that Voyager 2 took nearly 12 years to reach Neptune, where it took some incredible photos as it flew by.

    Musk has previously stated that he is studying many solutions for spacecraft propulsion. For example, he has tweeted that nuclear-powered rockets would be an excellent research topic for NASA. He has solid grounds for this, as nuclear systems are faster, but why is a spaceship fueled by nuclear systems faster?

    Because nuclear energy sources have such a high energy density, a spacecraft powered by nuclear energy is more promising. Uranium fuel for nuclear reactors has a 4 million times higher energy density than hydrazine, a popular chemical rocket propellant. Although the present spaceship does not use hydrazine, the fuel is still inefficient compared to uranium fuel and it's also a lot easier to send a small amount of uranium into space than it is to send hundreds of thousands of gallons of fuel.

    Musk could employ two different sorts of nucleus systems for the starship when it comes to nuclear system setups. Nuclear thermal propulsion is the first. These are extremely strong and reasonably efficient systems. To heat a gas like hydrogen, they use a small nuclear efficient reactor similar to those used to power nucleus submarines. To create propulsion, the gas is propelled through a rocket nozzle. A starship traveling to Mars using nuclear thermal propulsion would travel 20 to 25% faster than a chemical rocket.

    Tesla is a big name in battery manufacturing. It is putting the finishing touches on its
    new 4680 battery. However, as a company that is planning for serious expansion, Tesla
    cannot produce enough batteries to put in its cars! This is why Elon Musk is teaming up
    with the Chinese BYD!

    As more and more companies jump into the fray and produce electric cars to satisfy
    growing demand, batteries will become scarce. Smart EV makers are securing their
    sources of battery before the stampede begins.
    Coupled with the volatility on the supply of some raw materials for making electric
    vehicle batteries, the survival of some EV makers will depend on whether they can get
    batteries or not.
    Despite being the biggest name in electric vehicles, Tesla is not immune to the vagaries
    of battery supply. To avoid this issue, Tesla has decided to use a chemically different
    battery in some of its cars.
    Tesla revealed this info in its third quarterly report for 2021, saying it will shift to lithium
    iron phosphate LFP battery in its standard range vehicles globally. This will reduce
    Tesla’s reliance on cobalt.
    Now, cobalt is the best material to use as an anchor for the cathode in the battery, but
    the material comes with lots of baggage. It is highly toxic, endangering the health of
    everybody that handles it during its production. Not only that, but all the world’s cobalt
    supply comes from a single country, the Democratic Republic of Congo. There,
    business is marred by corruption and violence.
    This is why Tesla went with nickel which is cheaper and reduces the cost of producing
    the cathode by 15 percent.
    The downside of swapping nickel with cobalt is that the battery will become less energy-
    dense, meaning less range. This is why Tesla has decided to use the LFP battery in its
    standard range vehicles. It will continue to use cobalt in its more expensive and longer
    range models.
    Tesla has already started using LFP batteries in the standard range cars made in
    China. The batteries are made by the Chinese battery giant CATL. So when the
    company announced the LFP batteries would go into all its standard range vehicles, it
    caused speculations on which battery maker would supply them. Analysts wanted to
    see how Tesla would retain its strategy of using locally made parts. This is a test for
    Tesla, which hopes to make an affordable electric car for the masses.
    Drew Baglino, a Tesla senior VP, reiterated the commitment of Tesla to sourcing key
    parts of their vehicles from the American market when asked about Tesla’s plan to start
    using LFP batteries at its Fremont factory in California.
    Down the road, using non-US-made batteries could cost Tesla some part of the new EV
    incentives, as the Democrats are proposing. But as you shall see, that angle has been
    taken care of.
    Future repercussions notwithstanding, we have heard about Musk’s Tesla forming a
    partnership with BYD on battery matters. BYD is one of the biggest makers of electric
    vehicles in China. However, it was originally a mobile phone battery-making company
    before deciding to go into electric vehicle production. It is also into energy storage in
    China

    SpaceX's Starship has officially become the most powerful rocket ever built upon in the world, but SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has hinted at the insane successor to it, Starship 2.0. It will be a rocket multiple times larger.

    So, what is Starship 2.0? How huge will it be? How many raptors will be installed?

    SpaceX's newest Starship prototype was briefly placed atop its massive booster for the first time on Friday (Aug. 6), setting a new record for the world's tallest rocket ahead of a planned orbital test flight this year. The starship is also one of the widest in terms of capacity. Starship was designed from the onset to be able to carry more than 100 tons of cargo to Mars and the Moon. The cargo version can also be used for rapid point-to-point Earth transport.

    However, despite its size, orbital-class rocketry in Earth gravity will almost never fail to benefit from more thrust; more propellant; more rocket. In light of this, Elon Musk thought about increasing the size of the next generation of Starship.
    Back in 2019, when the Starship was still in its infancy, SpaceX had just finished the second free-flight test of its prototype then known as the Star Hopper. One of his excited fans wanted to know if the next version of the Starship was being planned and what size it would be? He asked if the diameter would be more than 12 meters a bit of context here is necessary. The fan mentioned 12 meters since the Starship's original design when it was still known as the interplanetary transport system or its predecessor, was 12 meters in diameter.

    CEO Elon Musk replied that a theoretical next- next-generation SpaceX rocket – to potentially follow some years after Starship and Super Heavy – could be a full 18m (60 ft) wide, twice the diameter of its predecessors.

There are a variety of nuclear propulsion systems that might be employed in space technology applications. When a spaceship employs nuclear electric propulsion, the heat energy from a nuclear reactor is converted into electric energy, which drives whatever form of electrical thruster or propulsion technology it is equipped with. The use of nuclear thermal propulsion is based on the heating up of propellants such as hydrogen in reactors, followed by the expulsion of the gas produced by the reaction, which produces thrust. This has the potential to generate far greater thrust than electric propulsion systems.

    So, what are the challenges that the SpaceX team has to overcome in the process of building Starship?

    Let's find out and analyze in detail about it in this episode of SpaceX Fans:

    First, the biggest difficulty of SpaceX Starship is related to the ambition of a fully reusable launch vehicle.

    At the WSJ CEO Council, Musk said Starship is a profound revolution in access to orbit. There has never been a fully reusable launch vehicle. This is the holy grail of space technology.

    In order to make a rocket fully reusable, you've got to basically create a rocket that can do about 4%, if not more than 4%, of its mass to orbit – which hasn't happened before.

    This absorbs more of Musk's mental energy than probably any other single thing. And now Musk is overdue for doing a Starship update.

    Re-entry with a ship of that size with full reusability would be astounding. Heatshield alone is a tough unprecedented challenge. Raptor reliability to make reusability worth the cost, also a huge challenge. Once re-entry and reusability are perfected, that changes the game

    NASA’s Space Shuttle was an attempt at producing a semi-reusable launcher, by re-entering and landing the orbiter, as well as recovering the solid rocket boosters by parachute. However, the immense recurring costs of the programs and the Challenger and Columbia Shuttle disasters, with a loss of 14 astronauts, highlighted the difficulty in achieving true and reliable reusability.

    Developing a reusable rocket is extremely challenging due to the small percentage of a rocket's mass that can make it to orbit. Typically, a rocket's payload is only about 3% of the mass of the rocket which is also roughly the amount of mass in fuel that is required for the vehicle's re-entry.

    technologies! What is Neuralink, how will Musk implant the chip in human brains, and
    what will Musk achieve with Neuralink?

    Many of us have had moments we wished for more brain power! Perhaps to tackle a
    difficult school assignment, multitask to be able to meet deadlines, or learn some
    concepts in a very limited time? What if our brains can go through a reawakening, or we
    can simply add more processing power like we can add RAM to a computer?
    All these are enticing possibilities that imaginative filmmakers have tantalized us with for
    decades! Sci-fi’s show active, intelligent humans getting updates by opening up their
    heads and adding more power. However, thanks to an ingenious businessman and
    billionaire inventor, we might soon be living those films as a reality!
    That man is Elon Musk, whose intelligence is in no doubt. Musk started Neuralink to
    achieve what many people would assume is impossible. The company aims to build
    implantable chips that will allow the human brain to interact with computers directly!
    But what exactly is Neuralink? We will look into this before we get into how Musk is
    putting it into the human brain!
    Neuralink is a gadget that will be surgically inserted into the brain using robotics by
    neurosurgeons. In this procedure, a chipset called the link is implanted in the skull. It
    has a number of insulated wires connected from the electrodes that are used in the
    process. This device can then be used to operate smartphones and computers without
    having to touch it.
    Give it up to Musk to try what others shy away from! This is the same man that wants to
    settle people on Mars permanently while others debate the morality or ethics of such an
    idea! Technologies like Neuralink have their critics but seeing the benefits, Musk will not
    be stopped! Before looking at the benefits of Neuralink, how does it work?
    Musk put it as ‘the neurons are like wiring, and you need an electronic thing to solve an
    electronic problem.’ That is an oversimplified explanation, but we offer you what you
    need to know here:
    It is important to have some ideas of how the brain works. The brain consists of neurons
    that transmit signals to cells in the body including muscle, nerve, gland, and other
    neuron cells. Every neuron is made up of three parts called the dendrite, the soma or
    cell body, and the axon. The dendrite receives the signals. The soma processes these
    signals. The axon then transmits the signals to the other cells. The neurons are
    connected to one another by the synapses which release neurotransmitters. These
    chemical substances are then sent to another neuron cell’s dendrite causing the flow of
    current across the neurons. The electrodes that are part of the Neuralink will read
    electrical signals that are produced by several neurons in the brain. The signals are
    then output in form of an action or movement, which is how you walk or lift an arm!
    The Neuralink device is implanted directly in the brain because if it is placed on the
    skull, it will not detect the signals produced in the brain accurately. Accuracy is very
    important in applications like this. Musk says it charges wirelessly.
    So what does Neuralink do? The main function, as already stated, is to bridge the gap
    between the human brain and technology! This has many applications, including the
    ones that will benefit a special class of people! For example, people who have suffered
    paralysis and can’t move their body parts can use Neuralink to operate their phones and
    computer directly with their brains. This will be useful for people who have suffered
    diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. It can also help people who have suffered
    severe spinal injuries to walk again! People who can’t form speech can take advantage
    of Neuralink, which will read signals in their brains and send them to a smartphone that
    will turn them into human speech!

    It is a great time to be alive for space enthusiasts! For the first time in the history of the
    space industry, a private company is launching both cargo and crew to the International
    Space Station! This company is no other than SpaceX, but it has even greater
    ambitions; it wants to take ordinary folks and not astronauts to Mars! Spurred on by its
    visionary CEO, Elon Musk, the company has been rapidly building and testing the
    rocket that will serve as the transport vehicle! And after years of hard work, SpaceX is
    ready to send the Starship on its first orbital flight in January! How prepared are the
    Starship and SpaceX for this momentous occasion? Let’s find out as we dive into how
    SpaceX is testing the Starship in January!
    Do you want to go to Mars one day? If yes is your answer, Elon Musk can make it
    happen! You share the ambition with him, and he had been dreaming this since he was
    a kid! However, that doesn’t mean Musk doesn’t have tangible reasons for establishing
    a colony on Mars. He believes humans cannot afford not to be interplanetary because a
    cosmic mishap could wipe out the earth! For humanity to be preserved, Musk is taking
    volunteers, up to a million of them, to live permanently on the harsh planet Mars!
    To make this longest migration in the history of humankind, Musk is building a giant
    rocket called the Starship! There is no doubt that the spacecraft is meant for hopping
    between planets as it was initially named Interplanetary Transport System. It will be the
    first human-bearing spacecraft to land on another planet to take people to Mars.
    However, it would have completed several uncrewed missions before that milestone.
    You can’t just airlift humans to another planet because they will perish within a short
    time! You need to prepare where they will live and other processes that will literally keep
    them alive! So SpaceX will use the Starship to transport cargo ahead of the actual
    inhabitants!
    Musk plans to make up to a thousand Starships that will blast off at the rate of three per
    day. The CEO wants everything on steroids to save time! However, before he can send
    off the first Starship on its way, Musk has a lot of testing and preparations to make! For
    example, Musk has to upgrade the launch site to be capable of supporting the
    operations of launching a rocket as powerful as the Starship. Consider fueling, for
    example. The Starship requires a large amount of fuel to take off! The upper stage has
    a capacity for 1200 tonnes of fuel while the booster takes almost triple of that at 3400
    tonnes! That is hardly surprising given that the rocket can lift more than 100 tonnes of
    payload per mission! But SpaceX has to get the facility ready to supply all that amount
    of fuel! It is building tank farms that can contain the fuel.
    However, even if the launch facility is ready, the Starship itself has to be thoroughly
    tested! SpaceX is building an entirely new kind of rocket in several aspects. First, unlike
    other rockets that are good for single use, the Starship works just like an airplane! It will
    fly multiple times! The two stages of the Starship are fully reusable. SpaceX has been
    partially reusing its Falcon rockets by recovering the boosters after each launch, but it is
    going after full reusability with the Starship! After separation, the booster will return to
    the earth for another launch. The Ship will also return after it completes its mission. This
    Musk expects to reduce the cost of space travel significantly and open it up to more
    people! He imagines you can sell your home to fund a trip to Mars aboard the Starship!
    Needless to say, reusability introduces complications to the design. The Ship, for
    example, has to be protected during the re-entry into the earth’s atmosphere. The heat
    produced can fry all the electronic components that make the spacecraft function! To
    prevent this potential damage, SpaceX has covered one side of the Ship, that is, the
    side that will be exposed to the heat, with heat-resistant ceramic tiles.
    SpaceX also had to design a landing system unique to the Starship. It begins by falling
    out of the sky, belly first, to expel the greatest amount of velocity as physically possible
    while in freefall. At around 500 meters in altitude, it will light two Raptor engines, gimbal
    them full tilt, fold in the rear flaps, and swing from horizontal to vertical so it can land tail
    down on its landing legs.
    When the rear fins retract and tuck in, the nose portion experiences a substantially
    higher amount of drag compared to the tail section. This, combined with the firing
    Raptor engines, cause the tail section to rotate under the nose, making the rocket
    vertical. Sometime in the future, SpaceX might add hot gas thrusters to further aid in the
    rotation.

    companies club when news got out that Hertz had ordered 100,000 units of the electric
    sedan! While doubts and counterclaims from Musk seem to have dampened the
    success story, the Model 3 will retain an important spot in not only the history of Tesla
    but the history of the electric vehicle altogether!
    With the impact the Model 3 has had on Tesla, the company knows the importance of
    an affordable electric vehicle in its lineup! However, Musk has always recognized the
    importance of cheap electric cars in the evolution of the transport industry and human
    history in general. This is why they feature prominently in his electric vehicle master
    plan!
    Musk’s master plan is among the simplest and clearest, which explains why Tesla has
    been able to stick to it all along! The plan is to create a low volume car, which would
    necessarily be expensive, use the money to develop a medium volume car at a lower
    price, then use the money from the medium volume car to make an affordable high
    volume car!
    The Roaster set things in motion for Tesla, with its high cost planting it in the luxury
    range. It managed to create a good impression about Tesla’s capabilities, showing a
    production electric vehicle that could last more than 200 miles on a single charge,
    accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds, attain 125 miles per hour, and even
    achieve high efficiency rating! Even though the Roadster made some money for Tesla,
    it didn’t sell up to 2,500 units, but it lived up to its expectations.
    Next came the Model S, which enjoyed critical acclaim for its design and performance. It
    even lasted longer than the Roadster per charge and offered storage space at the back
    by putting the battery underneath the floor. The move also improved the handling due to
    the low center of gravity. This model was more mass market than the Roadster as it
    cost less, and it represented the next step in Musk’s master plan.
    The crossover Model X would follow with its gull wing door, but it was the Model 3 that
    kicked off the last phase of the master plan. For the first time, working class citizens
    could dream of owning an electric car that they could afford and would not be crappy or
    ugly!
    Musk, however, has realized humanity needs an even cheaper electric vehicle before
    mass adoption of electric cars would really start! Musk arrived at a threshold price for
    this car candidate, but before we go into that, there is another reason Musk wants to
    make a cheap car.

    Elon Musk has same spirit of exploration as the explorers of the past, but his goal is literally out of this world; he wants to establish a settlement on Mars, which will take him five months at the most, which is simply too long; however, he has found an ingenious way of cutting the trip just to 100 days or even less. The explorers of the past discovered new lands and founded colonies, many of which still exist today. Elon Musk has the same spirit of exploration, but his target is literally out of the world! He wants to form a settlement on an entirely different planet, Mars! One problem he has is that going to Mars will take you five months at the shortest, which to Musk is just too long! However, he has found an ingenious way to cut the trip to just 100 days or even less! What is this method, and how does it work? Join us as we dive into SpaceX Nuclear Starship that Is Finally Happening! If you are planning a trip to Mars, you have better start with how you will cover the vast space between Earth and the Red Planet. Even if you choose the best time to take off, which comes around once in a while when the two planets align the most, you will spend the next five months in transit as you cover millions of miles! Space is massive, and anywhere you are going is far! Humanity has been making do with large fuel burning rockets when we head for space, but it has limited where we can go because we have to take into consideration the amount of energy required for the trips and the time it will take.
    SpaceX is working on the Starship to take people to Mars, but while the current Starship can carry lots of cargo, it will not cut down the travel time significantly. Even when the Starship is not transporting humans to Mars, it makes sense for space trips to be shorter. For example, during space exploration for science, it is important to get data from unmanned missions as soon as possible. Consider that it took Voyager-2 12 years just to reach Neptune, where it snapped some incredible photos as it flew by. If Voyager-2 had a faster propulsion system, astronomers could have had those photos and the information they contained years earlier, moving our knowledge of the universe forward faster! Musk has indicated in the past that he is considering different options for powering spacecraft! For instance, he has tweeted about how nuclear powered rockets would be a great area of research for NASA! He has good reasons for this because nuclear systems are faster! But why is a nuclear powered Starship faster? To answer this question, let's look at the basics of how rockets work in space currently. Once you manage to escape the Earth's gravitational pull, you have three things to worry about: number one is thrust which is how fast a system can accelerate a ship. Number two is mass efficiency, which is how much thrust a system can produce for a given amount of fuel, and lastly, energy density is how much energy a given amount of fuel can produce. The most common propulsion systems in use are chemical propulsion, regular fuel-burning rockets, and solar-powered electric propulsion systems. While chemical propulsion systems provide a lot of thrust, chemical rockets aren't particularly efficient.V rocket that took astronauts to the Moon produced 35 million Newtons of force at liftoff and carried 950,000 gallons of fuel! While most of the fuel was used in getting the rocket into orbit, the limitation is that it takes a lot of heavy fuel to get anywhere. The other option uses solar panels to generate thrust using electricity. The most common way to do this is to use an electrical field to accelerate ions, such as in the Hall thruster. These devices are commonly used to power satellites and can have more than five times higher mass efficiency than chemical systems.The energy density of uranium fuel used in nuclear reactors is 4 million times higher than that of hydrazine, a common chemical rocket propellant. While the current starship does not use hydrazine, the fuel is still nowhere near as efficient as uranium fuel. Think of it this way: it is much easier to get a small amount of uranium to space than it is to get a large amount of hydrazine tens of thousands of gallons of gasoline. Before we go into the various options, let's have a look at the pros and musk’s nuclear-powered possibilities starship.

    Tesla's take on popular modes of transport is always exciting and hotly anticipated! For
    instance, Cybertruck, which takes on the pickup truck in an electric way, has reportedly
    gathered more than a million pre-orders! However, there is another exciting electric vehicle that
    Tesla is working on, and this time, the vehicle does not even move on land!
    In this video, we will join Elon Musk as he reveals the insane Tesla's new helicopter!
    Tesla only makes battery powered electric vehicles, which means when the company, through
    its CEO, Musk, starts talking about a new vehicle category, it has got to be electric, except when
    the vehicle is a rocket, though!
    Musk's company has already established dominance in the EV space. It produces and sells the
    most electric cars for a company. Its Model 3 is the best selling electric car, and is only being
    threatened by another vehicle in Tesla's lineup, the Model Y. Tesla aims to be making 20 million
    vehicles by 2030 and is building more Giga Factories to make this goal a reality. Tesla has also
    massively improved its battery, which we will talk about later!
    Tesla is also covering as many segments as possible. It will soon launch a resurrected version
    of its original Roadster, a speed demon that will reach more than 250 miles per hour thanks to
    assistance from Tesla's sister company, SpaceX. As mentioned earlier, Tesla will also make the
    Cybertruck to satisfy the pickup loving folks that want to drive zero-emission vehicles!
    This is apart from the Tesla Semi, a Class 8 truck that will save fleet operators lots of money
    and reduce downtime! And to make sure vehicle buyers on a budget also get to own and drive a
    decent electric vehicle, Tesla is working on a cheap 25,000 dollar electric vehicle that will be
    made in and shipped from China.
    For people with bigger wallets, Tesla has the Model S electric sedan to sell to them. Musk has
    even hinted at a battery powered van that might sport solar panels and will be equipped to help
    people confined to their wheelchairs get a taste of electric mobility!
    With major vehicle segments sewn up tight by Tesla, it is not surprising that the company is
    turning its attention to the sky! Up next is the helicopter, which Tesla is also electrifying!
    But then, it is only natural that Musk will want to do something like a helicopter. Musk has
    literally conquered space with his other company, SpaceX! The space company routinely
    launches payloads like satellites to orbit. It also sends cargo and astronauts to the haloed
    International Space Station for NASA and returns them to the earth. This is a privilege only
    SpaceX enjoys as a private company!
    Musk is even looking farther than the International Space Station and even the moon, as he is
    bent on sending willing people to Mars to live there permanently, which is why he is building the
    tallest and most powerful rocket ever in the history of humankind and also reusable!
    So thinking of doing a helicopter to fly the skies is a no-brainer for Musk! Of course, Musk is not
    the first person to try building an electric helicopter or aircraft. For example, electric airplane
    programs like the Pipistrel Alpha Electro and the Siemens and Magnus eFusion exist. However,
    as a man who has literally made rockets, which are used to measure things that are hard to do,
    Musk's take will blow everything before it out of the water!
    Musk himself revealed years ago that he had a design for electric vertical take-off and landing
    VTOL aircraft. However, Musk pointed out a big impediment then to actualizing the design; the
    battery! he admitted the plane was limited in range, which will make the aircraft impractical for
    normal operations.
    He even compared jet fuels to the electric vehicle batteries of the time, using energy density,
    which more or less kept the hope alive for seeing a battery powered helicopter with a decent
    range! Musk explained that while Jet A or kerosene fuel has a much higher energy density than
    lithium ion batteries, electric motors have the double advantage of being lighter in weight than
    combustion engines, and converting the energy stored in the battery into motion better than
    combustion engines burn fuel!

Although for now, battery-powered bikes aren't readily available, the manufacturing of them is expanding and consolidating, so over the next few years it is likely that some company will emerge as a dominant player.     When will SpaceX’s Starship get to mars?
    According to Elon Musk, it could be surprisingly soon.
    The company’s under-development rocket has yet to complete its first orbital flight, but in a Monday interview, the SpaceX CEO appeared positive that the ship will meet its most ambitious targets on time. These include a trip around the Moon in 2023 and getting to Mars this decade.
    Musk made the comments in a Time interview published Monday.
