Described as the jewel of the Kalahari, Okavango is a tranquil and isolated oasis set in Botswana's unsympathetic desert. Home to many of Africa's big predators and indigenous semi-nomadic tribes, the Okavango Delta is a unique natural resource and one of the largest deltas in the world. Today, it is an oasis teeming with an amazing cross-section of unexpected animal life. Fish, crocodiles, hippos and antelope coexist in the delta, and the lion rules this kingdom. This is a rich but rare paradise, isolated by the watery wilderness of the delta. But will the recent discovery of tourism endanger the beating heart of Okavango?

The Golden Eagle - Master of the Sky | Wildlife Documentary

    Watch 'Germany's Wild Birds' here:

When the golden eagle watches for prey while gliding over its hunting ground, hardly flapping its wings, snow and black grouse, groundhogs, hares and other animals had better watch out. Even the quick kestrel can't escape when the golden eagle has it in its sights. The fox and the common raven may be more intelligent than the golden eagle, but if they aren't careful they might also end up as a meal for the young eagles in the eyrie. The golden eagle is an extremely crafty hunter: optimally exploiting all cover, it glides close to the ground over knolls and low hills along hillsides and attempts to surprise its prey from a short distance. When it spies prey, it swoops down onto it in a nosedive. The eagle has already killed the surprised prey before it even realises what is happening to it.

This documentary gives an intimate portrait of this large bird of prey and tracks the birth and coming of age of two Golden Eagle chicks in the High Tatra Mountains, from the hatching of the eggs, until the moment when the young birds leave the nest. Tragic and funny moments make this movie an entertaining trip into the treetops of the European forests.

The jungle screams of survival by any means. In fact, the underdogs are taking revenge on the captors that have held them down for way too long. The battle is fierce, and there are no rules!
Stay tuned as I take you through the 15 extreme wild animal fights.

    15. Alligator vs. Python

The muddy waters of the Florida swamp have experienced a fair share of blood baths, even from unexpected places. It didn't expect a fight as bewildering as this one. In this clip, we see a territorial Python take on a beady-eyed alligator with one flick of his tongue. If only these creatures had the opportunity to speak, we would have known what was going through their minds as they took each other on. Who provoked who? Did they bear this grudge for so long and wanted to settle it once and for all? Whatever is the case, we give our verdict on the combat. The alligator seemed to control the fight initially, but he dashed off after he was sure he would be overpowered. He probably went home to think about a perfect comeback.

    14. Mongoose vs. Cobra

So, this venomous cobra was having her time with a prey it just caught when this Mongoose tried to play the role of an angel. It thought to rescue the animal in danger, but the cobra didn't find the nerve funny. It leaves me wondering how compassionate animals are that they can go to any length to protect the weak. Just so you know, Mongoose prey on snakes, especially cobras but in this scenario, something different played out. The animal you thought would win lost, but the Mongoose would certainly live to fight another day. It was heartwarming for the squirrel to watch and see how her lover defended her. The next time there's a clash, it is easy to guess who the next winner will be.

    13. Baboon vs. Crocodile

No mother would sit and watch her baby in danger and do nothing. They even go as far as risking their lives for the safety of their children. Animals do it even better. In this fight, a baboon tries to rescue her baby from a bloodthirsty crocodile. These sea creatures are unapologetic when it comes to hunting their prey. It got the wrong one this time. The baboon quickly dashed off to save her child, and guess what? She won over the crocodile, but it wasn't a smooth victory. She lost her baby in the battle. The watering hole became filled with blood-soaked tears and regrets.

    12. Cat vs. Cat

Who would have thought that outfoxing cats were for the birds? This clip shows how a clever crow managed to pull a fast one on two feline creatures. It convinced them not to eat him but fight each other instead. Who does that? Only the bird, of course. Anyone who has been roped into a fight or argument with a friend can relate to this one. One random stranger tells you lies about your friend and does the same to the other party. The next time there's a meeting, the information leads into an argument or a fight, and the person watches from a distance. Well, the crow is the crowd-pleaser here, and you don't need to purchase tickets to watch how everything panned out because it happened right at the rooftop.

    11. Sloth vs. Eagle

After seeing this video, you'll probably have another perspective on the idea of moving like a sloth. We see a sloth moving like a boss, unlike what we thought of them. I hope they forgive us for having a faulty misconception of their style. As it moves past the harpy eagle, it knocks it out with ease. Such audacity! The eagle is as shocked when the assailant's claws brush against his chest, but he dares not protest for fear of repercussions. The next time you see this creature, give them space because they have proven that slow and steady remains the deadliest combination in the animal kingdom.

    10. Iguana Multiple snakes

This sounds like one of those popular ambushes during World War I. Why would dozens of snakes go after one seemingly innocent Iguana? Again, we can't hear these animals speak, so we don't know what had transpired to necessitate the rage. The high-speed police chase was targeted at a lonely Iguana who manages to escape in a swift twist. The camera angle and kung-fu kicks make it seem like the Iguana is even kicking his predators on their head as he scampers for safety. He knows he's no match for them; therefore, he runs for his life while doing what he can.

This film captures the bizarre, undersea life of Indonesia’s Lembeh strait, host to the best muck diving on the planet. African Wild Dog
The African Wild Dog (also known as the Painted Dog) is a medium sized species of canine found across sub-Saharan Africa. The African Wild Dog is most easily identified from both domestic and other wild Dogs by their brightly mottled fur with its name in Latin aptly meaning painted wolf. The African Wild Dog is said to be the most sociable of all the canines living in packs of around 30 individuals. Sadly however this highly intelligent and sociable animal is severely under threat in much of its natural habitat primarily due to habitat loss

African Wild Dog Anatomy and Appearance
The most distinctive feature of the African Wild Dog is its beautifully mottled fur which makes this canine very easy to identify. The fur of the African Wild Dog is red black white brown and yellow in colour with the random pattern of colours being unique to each individual. It is also thought to act as a type of camouflage helping the African Wild Dog to blend into its surroundings. The African Wild Dog also has large ears a long muzzle and long legs with four toes on each foot. This is one of the biggest differences between the African Wild Dog and other canine species as they have five. They also have a large stomach and a long large intestine which aids them in more effectively absorbing moisture from their food.

African Wild Dog Distribution and Habitat
African Wild Dogs are found naturally roaming the deserts open-plains and arid savanna of sub-Saharan Africa where the range of the African Wild Dog has decreased rapidly. It is thought that the African Wild Dog was once found in nearly 40 different African countries but that number is much lower today at between 10 and 25. Now most African Wild Dog populations are primarily restricted to National Parks across southern Africa with the highest populations found in Botswana and Zimbabwe. African Wild Dogs require large territories to support the pack with pack sizes having in fact dropped in number with their decreasing home-ranges.

African Wild Dog Behaviour and Lifestyle
African Wild Dogs are highly sociable animals that gather in packs of generally between 10 and 30 individuals. There is a strict ranking system within the pack led by the dominant breeding pair. They are the world's most sociable Dogs and do everything as a group from hunting for and sharing food to helping sick members and assisting in raising young. African Wild Dogs communicate between one another through touch movement and sound. Pack members are incredibly close gathering together before a hunt to nose and lick each other whilst wagging their tails and making high-pitched noises. African Wild Dogs lead a crepuscular lifestyle meaning that they are most active during dawn and dusk.

    7 Facts About Lions:

    1. NEARLY ALL WILD LIONS LIVE IN AFRICA, BUT ONE SMALL POPULATION EXISTS ELSEWHERE…
Nearly all wild lions live in Africa, below the Sahara Desert, but one small population exists around Gir Forest National Park in western India. Lions in west and central Africa are more closely related to these Asiatic lions in India, than to those found in southern and east Africa.
    2. THEY CAN WEIGH 30 STONE
On average, males weigh 190kg (almost 30 stone) and females weigh 126kg (almost 20 stone). They need this weight and power behind them to hunt large prey and defend their pride.
    3. THEY START OFF SPOTTY
Young lions have rosettes and spots on their sandy coats, but these generally disappear as they mature.
    4. MALES’ MAGNIFICENT MANES TELL A STORY
Male lions grow impressive manes the older they get. These manes grow up to 16cm long and are a sign of dominance. The older they get, the darker their manes go. As well as attracting females, their manes may also protect their neck and head from injuries during fights.
    5. CUBS ARE REARED TOGETHER
A pride of lions is usually made up of related females and their cubs, plus a male or small group of males who defend their pride. The lionesses rear their cubs together and cubs can suckle from any female with milk.
    6. LIONS CAN GET THEIR WATER FROM PLANTS
Lions are highly adaptable and can live in very dry areas like the Kalahari Desert. Here they get most of their water from their prey and will even drink from plants such as the Tsamma melon.
    7. LIONS ARE BIG EATERS
Lions can eat up to 40kg of meat in a single meal - around a quarter of their body weight. Their tongues have sharp-pointed rasps, called papillae, which are used to scrape meat off the bones.
