  • Monoprice MP Mini Delta Review - BEST INEXPENSIVE 3D PRINTER?

    12:37

After testing it for over 3 months, I review the Monoprice MP Mini Delta 3D Printer. Good choice for a first 3D Printer, or cheap crowdfunded publicity stunt that barely prints? Watch my review and find out what I think of it.

Remember! This is a prototype, and the production machine will certainly be slightly different. This review is my own opinion, based on my experience as a volunteer Beta Tester, and I was not compensated in any way for this review.

  • Monoprice MP Cadet 3D Printer: Review & Beginners Guide

    13:53

This is a review of the Monoprice MP Cadet 3D Printer. This is a great entry level printer for beginner's that are starting to look into the world of 3D printing!

    Pros/Highlights:
-Easy to setup out of the box and start printing immediately
-Good for kids learning about 3D printing (my 8 year old son figured out how to print the test model on his own)
-Uses PLA or PLA+ filament which is much easier and safer to use than resin
-Affordable price tag compared to other 3D printers, retails at only $249.99
-Small, compact and doesn't take up much space

    Cons:
-Only has a 100mm (~4 inch) print bed, so can only print smaller objects
-Doesn't come with deep instructions on troubleshooting printing errors, or what parts need to be replaced regularly (i.e. 3D printing adhesive paper for platform)

This unit was provided free of charge for a fair and honest review.

  • Monoprice Select Mini V2 - My first 3D printer - Learning about 3d printing

    10:38

I have never 3D printed... Until now!! this is a voyage of discovery with the Monoprice Select Mini V2... not knowing anything about 3D printing, i decided to jump in and give it a try. After a year or so looking at 3d printers i decided to try it out with an economy grade 3d printer, and later on, if i like 3d printing, get a larger better 3d printer.

This Is not a review of this 3d printer and i have not been compensated for this video , i'm just excited about the prospect of something new!

I learned an amazing amount of new things with this little printer, and that is what this video is all about: LEARNING SOMETHING NEW, and i am excited about the possibilities!! The best, lesson if no other, is to remember that you learn more from failure than from success!

the voyage into 3d printing requires 3 things:
    1. the 3d printer, and filament (really only a small portion of the equation)
    2. a 3d model of the object to print (make your own or download from thingiverse)
    3. Slicing software (a CAM software for 3d printing) i used Cura 3.0 which is free!

All i can say is that i am impressed with this little economy printer! For $200 i am impressed with the quality of the printing. however, the printer is noisy and the cantilevered arm is flimsy but still it did an amazing job

if you get this printer or any other, be sure to purchase a FULL roll of filament, since the sample the printer comes with is not enough to warm up the machine, i bought a roll of Hatchbox PLA Black and a roll of PLA white to get started.

The large format 3d printers I mention:
    Creality 5080
    OEM H-10
    Modix big 60
    Big Rep One
    Wasp Delta 3MT
    Cronus
    The Black Belt

  • Is the Monoprice Mini Delta your first 3d printer?

    14:10

Looking for your first 3d printer or want to learn about low-end printers suitable for home then you will find this video very interesting.

If your new 3d printer is for yourself, for a child, for your parents this video is an excellent place to start. In the video, I review some of the criteria I am looking for while taking you step by step thru unboxing, assembling, and setting up the Monoprice Mini Delta 3d printer.

I also explain why for many people new to 3d printing I recommend the Monoprice Select Mini instead of the Monoprice Mini Delta.

In this video, I mention a web site dedicated to MP Mini Delta users. Here is the link:

I also shared that l used specific gcode at the beginning of each print that was different from the start of print gcode listed in the manual. Here is the gcode I used and here is a link to additional instructions:

**** IMPORTANT*** You must remove the semi-colon from one of the lines that starts with ;M92 depending on your printer firmware version. See the website above for additional information. You also need to adjust the line that starts with G29 P4 Z0.24 ; Auto-level. Change the 0.30 to a smaller number if your prints are not sticking and a bigger number if your print head is hitting the bed.

; This code was written by Brian Kurtz and published on the web
    ; Calibration part starts here
;M92 X57.14 Y57.14 Z57.14 ; If running V37-V41 or V45, uncomment this line and delete the one below
M92 X114.28 Y114.28 Z114.28 ; If running V43 or V44, uncomment this line and delete the one above
    M666 X0 Y0 Z0 ; Add your endstop values here after calibration
M665 L120.80 R61.70 ; Sets default Delta Radius (change when calibrating)
    M301 P45.00 I0.07 D1000 ; Hot end settings
    M304 P100 I0 D0 ; Bed heater settings
    M500 ; Save settings
    ; Calibration part ends here

G90 ; switch to absolute positioning
    G92 E0 ; reset extrusion distance
    G1 E20 F200 ; purge 20mm of filament to prime nozzle.
    G92 E0 ; reset extrusion distance
G4 S5 ; Pause for 5 seconds to allow time for removing extruded filament
G28 ; start from home position
G1 E-6 F900 ; retract 6mm of filament before starting the bed leveling process
    G92 E0 ; reset extrusion distance
G4 S5 ; pause for 5 seconds to allow time for removing extruded filament
G29 P4 Z0.30 ; Auto-level -- ADJUST Z higher or lower to set first layer height. Start with 0.02 adjustments.
    G1 Z30 ; raise Z 30mm to prepare for priming the nozzle
G1 E5 F200 ; extrude 5mm of filament to help prime the nozzle just before the start of the print
    G92 E0 ; reset extrusion distance
G4 S10 ; pause for 5 seconds to allow time for cleaning the nozzle and build plate if needed

Thanks for watching and let's continue to learn new things together.

  • Getting Started with the Monoprice 3D printer

    29:46

This video shows the steps taken after the initial installation of the Monoprice 3D Maker Select V2 printer (product 13860). Specifically it shows how to get the wire guides secured and level the printbed, how to heat the extruder and install PLA filament, and then how to print your first print off the micro sd card. These videos were created for educators and were designed with the following learning objectives:
A-Tell how a 3D printer homes its axes, which is how the
printer determines its zero position in x, y, and z.
B-Identify the stop switches on the 3D printer
    C-Level the printbed
    D-Install PLA filament (the plastic)
E-Start a print job stored on the micro SD card
F-Decide if a print job needs to be restarted based on how the
first and second layers of plastic print
