  • How to INSTALL a CPU AIO Water Cooler - Thermaltake Water 3.0 ARGB CPU Cooler

    5:01

Summer is here (Southern Hemisphere) and temps are soaring so you may be looking at cooling down your CPU with a water-cooled loop but a complete custom loop could be a little too much... We've bought in Sarah from the marketing team to show us how simple it can be to install the Thermaltake Water 3.0 ARGB All in one CPU cooler.
*** The steps in this install apply to the majority of AIO out there as well.

*Please note* Graphic cards PCB's differ from model to model and so you must use the correct water block for the matching Graphic card PCB.

Want to learn more about Thermaltake and all things tech? Can't get enough of Sarah's antics? Then be sure to check out our fortnightly podcast series, Thermal Talk! A gaming/comedy podcast where Thermaltake staff members discuss the latest in gaming, tech and off-topic hijinks!

  • Cheapest Deep Learning PC in 2020

    12:09

Deep Learning is the the most exciting subfield of Artificial Intelligence, yet the necessary hardware costs keep many people from participating in its research and development. I wanted to see just how cheap a deep learning PC could be built for in 2020, so I did some research and put together a deep learning PC build containing brand new parts that comes out to about 450 US dollars. I chose NewEgg for the parts because it has a global shipping policy, deep learning belongs to the world not just the United States. In this episode, I’m going to walk you through what the deep learning stack looks like (CUDA, Jupyter, PyTorch, etc.) , why i chose the various hardware components, and then I’ll show you how to setup the full deep learning software stack on your PC. Enjoy!

Resolve Studio is known to leverage the GPU for a LOT of work. There are two codecs that specifically execute in the GPU hardware accelerators. Can we expect those to fly with a high end CPU vs a basic chip? Stick around to find out if dropping from a Ryzen 3950x to a Ryzen 1600 kills performance.

    Buying a 2019 MacBook Pro? Don't make these 10 mistakes ➡

Intel processors have been enjoying the bulk of the market share for many decades, but AMD has been fighting strong with it's Ryzen & Threadripper CPUs.

In 2013, Intel claimed they would have their 10nm CPU processors ready in 2015, but we're now in 2019, and 10nm Ice Lake processors have yet to ship.

AMD's recent 3rd-gen Ryzen 3 series and 3900X chips have put a TON of pressure on Intel.

And in the meantime, Apple and their A-line chips, especially the A12X processor have been getting incredible powerful using ARM technology and TSMC's 7nm process.

Other brands like Samsung's Exynos and Qualcomm's Snapdragon have also been pushing forward with their mobile ARM chips and they've been getting increasingly more powerful with every release.

Intel is starting to get into some really deep trouble.

There’s been a lot of discussion about electromigration, premature death of AMD Ryzen CPUs, and power reporting over the past two days. In this piece, we’re tackling three objectives: (1) We’ll be defining HWINFO’s new Power Reporting Deviation, as put forth by HWINFO64 and The Stilt in his detailed and accessible research piece; (2) we’re talking about the “burn-out” concerns put forth by a recent Tom’s Hardware headline; (3) we’re testing the actual power reporting deviation versus real power as measured with hardware monitoring. This topic of power consumption is often ignored by PC builders and viewers in favor of gaming benchmarks, and that leaves out a critical part of understanding the product. Power consumption gives way to thermals and best CPU cooler selection for a given CPU, AMD or Intel, because functionally all the power manifests as heat.

It's not the best work-around as I explain in the video, but if you GPU is toast and you need the laptop to work, it might just get you out of a pinch.

  • AMD VS Nvidia : Was Polaris a Success?

With the power of hindsight, I look reflect on Polaris and judge whether the Radeon 400 series was a success.

    My Polaris Preview video:
    Adoredtv's undervolting video:

This video started as an afternoon project and became a 4 day slog, going through several different versions. I wanted to make this video easy to understand, fast-paced and somewhat entertaining, though I had to skip over some of the smaller details along the way. Behold, my disclaimers:

    * I'm not too interested in getting into an Nvidia VS AMD argument, I haven't deliberately twisted the figures to make one company look better than the other. Treat this as a rough overview of the architectures, and if you want to know more then I suggest you look up detailed reviews yourself.
    * There's also an 8 GB 470 and 4 GB 480.
    * The 4800 VS Geforce 200 benchmarks were from Anandtech articles, not all games were included in the comparison as not all cards were shown for each. I did my best to feature all of the games that were benchmarked on all of the cards.
    * I don't recall the Radeon 4870 being QUITE so fast compared to the Geforce 280. I notice the 94% was in part from a strong Bioshock performance... but why not. It's still a game.
    * The 400 VS Geforce 900 benchmarks were from Guru3d reviews, as they had a better range of games and comparisons. Again, I tried to find games and settings that were tested for all graphics cards in this video.
    * The Geforce 1060 3 GB was problematic as they had changed the list of games reviewed by then. Rather than to cut the games out, I decided to guess the performance from the other results and to make it clear with a big colourful disclaimer in the video itself!
    * Geforce 970 didn't seem to be benchmarked on Doom Vulkan, so the number you'll see here is from OpenGL, which may have dropped average performance by like, 1%.
    * You could probably also undervolt a Geforce 1060 to get better performance.
    * Pricing was also difficult. The Radeon 460 was released for more than $99, but because I was comparing it to the Geforce 1050 I used the price it was at upon the Geforce 1050's launch for fairness. I also had trouble finding the Geforce 970 and 980 prices at the time of Polaris's release. It's so hard to do!
    * Yes, Steam Hardware is skewed because it represents Chinese LAN cafes as well. But that's because they're all using Nvidia cards :P
    * That being said, I'm proud of what I've found in this video. I've been fascinated by how Polaris fared compared with the older 4800 series and with this video I think I've found some closure. I hope that you enjoy this video.

David Kanter of Real World Tech (formerly Microprocessor Report) joins us to discuss why CUDA Cores aren't actually cores, later explaining the differences between CPU & GPU cores, stream processors vs. CUDA cores, and more. The discussion follows GPU architecture and explains the building blocks of a GPU, with details on streaming multiprocessors (SMs), multiply-add operations, texture map units (TMUs), and so forth.

  • AMD Ryzen Heatpipe Orientation Benchmark & CPU Cooler Myths

    17:35

In this video, we benchmark a series of myths relating to CPU cooler orientation on AMD Ryzen CPUs, featuring Noctua air coolers.
Sponsor: MSI GTX 1660 Super Gaming X (Amazon

Article: ready to publish, will go live after video

    Noctua NH-U14S on Amazon:
    Noctua NH-D15 on Amazon:

A while back, people talked about how heatpipe orientation might affect CPU thermal performance for asymmetrical die layouts on non-monolithic CPUs. Given that AMD Ryzen takes the multi-chip approach to CPUs (chiplets), and that its lower-end SKUs only have a single chiplet and single I/O die, the heat sources for these chips would be off-center and imbalanced toward one side. That's where the initial idea arose. The question is whether that has any relevance once you get to the heatsink level, or whether any differences are meaningful (if even measurable).

In this benchmark, we'll be looking at how the Noctua NH-U12S, Noctua NH-U14S, and Noctua NH-D15 air coolers perform on AMD Ryzen chips when rotated in their two different directions. The GPU was accounted for and eliminated as a variable, as discussed in the content, and airflow was run from the EPS side in to the GPU side out (with the GPU in the lowest possible slot and as a half-height card).

  • SOLIDWORKS CAD, Edrawing & Visualize AMD WX9100 GPU Review

    15:15

This video covers the performance of the Radeon Pro WX9100 Graphics Card from AMD and its integration into SOLIDWORKS software. We explore three different sizes/types of models (average, large and very large) up to 7500+ components, 9 assembly depths and 70 top level mates. Opening these files and monitoring the GPU performance offers some insight on the upgrades for both AMD and SOLIDWORKS. The AMD WX9100 Radeon Pro turns out to be one heck of a GPU! Not just because of the bang for the buck, but because it really matches SOLIDWORKS graphics demand stride for stride even on the extremely large assembly. Visualize 2020 rendering functionality and e-Drawings VR capability is also covered in this review. This video is brought to you by Adam Hughes and GoEngineer. • AMD RX 6000 VS NVIDIA RTX 3000 : BENCHMARK DANS 10 JEUX

    5:51

    Processeur : AMD Ryzen 5900X
    Mémoire Vive : 16Go DDR4 3200MHz

  • Video Rendering Face-Off: i5 vs. i7

    6:03

    - If you've been following the channel for quite a while, then you likely already know that the performance gains from an i5 to an i7 when it comes to GAMING are rather minimal. However, in the case of content creation (video editing, photo manipulation, etc), i7s are always preferred. But how much of a benefit do i7s offer when it comes to perhaps the biggest pain YouTube creators must bear: Rendering times?

  • GPU vs CPU Video Rendering and Video Editing

    5:30

GPU vs CPU Video Editing and Video Rendering
Choosing between a Faster Processor or Graphics Card is Hard.
How to get faster video rendering times from your video editing.

Both the CPU and GPU are important for video editing, rendering, gaming and 3D modeling but what will get you the best performance?

HOW TO GET FASTER VIDEO RENDERING WITH A CPU
The CPU ultimately is going to be the best place to spend the most money when it comes to getting faster render times.

HOW TO GET FASTER VIDEO RENDERING WITH A GPU
However the graphics card is still important for video editing and video rendering so don't underestimate the GPU and how valuable it is. There are many features such as color grading, 3D modeling and programs such as After Effects that can take advantage of the GPU when it comes to rendering and I've seen it cut rendering times in Premiere Pro down by half.

OTHER WAYS TO GET FASTER VIDEO RENDERING TIMES
There are other barriers to faster video editing and video rendering such as getting a faster drive such as SSDs and using multiple drives. In addition having more ram can also help depending on how intensive your application is. After Effects takes up more than many other programs.
