  • Top 10 Mediterranean Cruise Destinations | Cruise Tips

    21:19

The Mediterranean is home to where the majority of cruises travel to. Med Cruises or Mediterranean Cruises are the perfect getaway. These are our 10 top Mediterranean destinations that include Mediterranean islands, cities and more.

See some great Mediterranean Holiday information here:

Some fantastic Med Cruise Deals here:

    Destinations:

Every day there are numerous cruise itineraries that stop in the Med - just look at this long list of cruise lines MSC, Marella, Costa, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, P&O, Seabourn, Azamara, Princess, Crystal, Viking, Pullmantur, Windstar, Ponant, Regent, Celestyal, Oceania, Cunard, Fred Olsen, Seadream, Holland America, Silversea, Cruise and Maritime, Voyages to Antiquity, Star Clippers, Saga, Disney, Hapag-Lloyd, Club Med and Scenic…

We will go through some of the major places. It’s likely if you go on a Mediterranean cruise you’ll go to at least one of these destinations.

    Barcelona: 01:33
Barcelona is a Mediterranean city, with a fantastic mix of architecture and new designs. Barcelona is a cultural city, and is popular to take a Mediterranean cruise to and from.

    Rome: 02:52
The port itself is located at Civitavecchia, which is about an hour's drive away from the centre of Rome. The Italian capital is massive and there's so much to do and it's a perfect place to see on a Mediterranean cruise.

    Palma De Mallorca: 04:33
Palma De Mallorca is the island's city capital Palma. She has clear Mediterranean water, there is a Neo-gothic cathedral. There's old cobbled streets, where you canthake in the culture and find some delicious delicacies.

    Monaco: 05:44
The French Riviera is in Monaco. It's known for its harbour, grand casino, restaurants, monarchy, and the Famous Monaco Grand Prix. Monaco is the worlds second smallest city. Cruising into Monte Carlo is beautiful!

    Venice: 07:22
Venice is the 'city of bridges.' It is known for how the two banks of the Grand Canal connect. There's a mix of museums and galleries containing a mix of artifacts. There's pleanty of art here with more exhibitions per square metre than any other city in the world. Venice is the charm of the Mediterranean in my opinion.

    Lisbon: 09:19
Lisbon, the Portuguese capital is defined as much by its topography and surroundings as it is by its rich heritage and vibrant way of life.

    Athens: 11:14
Athens is both the epicentre of the ancient world and the birthplace of modern civilisation. While its history stretches back thousands of years, it's possible to get to grips with the city in a single day, which is great news for anyone passing through on a Mediterranean cruise.

    Dubrovnik: 13:18
The Croatian city of Dubrovnik has a long and cultured history. These days, the entire city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visiting this stunning location is like taking a stroll through the pages of the world's most picturesque history book.

    Istanbul: 15:52
Straddling the geographical boundary between Europe and Asia, the Turkish capital, Istanbul can make a pretty strong claim to being the centre of the universe, and for thousands of years.

    Gibraltar: 18:34
Gibraltar may not get the most glamorous or reputations in comparison with others on this list but, it is on many Mediterranean itineraries and this list for a reason.

    About us:
In March 2017, Rick and Andrea (confessed Travel Addicts) started a Facebook Group called Travel Addicts as a way to share their travel photos and videos not just with their own respective friend's lists – but with the world. Part of the reason was for bragging rights (I mean, that’s kind of the point of sharing photos, right?), but also to help answer questions to others about the destinations they have visited.

After inviting some of our friends and family, it grew and grew – and as of June 2019, the group has grown to over 200,000 members! One reason for our success, we believe, is that we have done our best to ensure only high-quality photos and videos get shared, all while limiting the use of commercial content.

  • Lets Be Cruise Partners!

    1:57

I’ve long wanted to make a one-hour public television special about cruising. And we’re doing just that now. My TV crew and I are on a Mediterranean cruise, filming a special that will air across the country in the fall of 2018. It won’t be pro or con cruising — just a candid and honest look at this travel option, one of the fastest growing kinds of travel.

For the next couple of weeks, I’ll be posting daily at as we cruise to destinations ranging from Barcelona in the west to Rhodes in the east. In this clip, I’m just in from a hot day of filming on shore. I took an amazing shower (any shower would have been amazing, the way I was feeling), changed into my casual cruise wear, and am enjoying a quiet, private sunset on my balcony with no land in sight — but curiously surrounded by lots of ships. Stay tuned for lots of Mediterranean fun and learning.
