Astronomers have begun one of the most far-reaching efforts to study the cosmos. They are building giant new telescopes, while marshaling vast computational power. These technologies are part of a historic quest: to peer into space and time, to find out how the universe gave birth to galaxies and planets, to discern the amazing world of gravity and test theories by Einstein and other scientists.

    ABOUT US
Here at SpaceRip, we value the exploration of the unknown. We surpass boundaries for the sake of uncovering the mysteries of the cosmos and what they may tell us about our origin and our future. With our videos, we hope to educate our viewers on how we fit into the universe, and more so how we can do our part to better it.

We believe there is no better time to inform ourselves about the world around us. Our partnership with MagellanTV is aimed to educate viewers on our complex world to prepare for our rapidly changing future. Through our videos we hope to capture a variety of important topics with the overall goal of promoting positive discussion and action.

  • TIMELAPSE OF THE FUTURE: A Journey to the End of Time

    29:21

Support my work on Patreon: | Get the soundtrack: | How's it all gonna end? This experience takes us on a journey to the end of time, trillions of years into the future, to discover what the fate of our planet and our universe may ultimately be.

We start in 2019 and travel exponentially through time, witnessing the future of Earth, the death of the sun, the end of all stars, proton decay, zombie galaxies, possible future civilizations, exploding black holes, the effects of dark energy, alternate universes, the final fate of the cosmos - to name a few.

This is a picture of the future as painted by modern science - a picture that will surely evolve over time as we dig for more clues to how our story will unfold. Much of the science is very recent - and new puzzle pieces are still waiting to be found.

To me, this overhead view of time gives a profound perspective - that we are living inside the hot flash of the Big Bang, the perfect moment to soak in the sights and sounds of a universe in its glory days, before it all fades away. Although the end will eventually come, we have a practical infinity of time to play with if we play our cards right. The future may look bleak, but we have enormous potential as a species.

Featuring the voices of David Attenborough, Craig Childs, Brian Cox, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Michelle Thaller, Lawrence Krauss, Michio Kaku, Mike Rowe, Phil Plait, Janna Levin, Stephen Hawking, Sean Carroll, Alex Filippenko, and Martin Rees.

Where does a cup of coffee come from? In this film, it’s not Starbucks, it’s stars busting. We go right back to the beginning of time to show where the ingredients in your cup of coffee were born.

The main ingredient is hydrogen; it makes up most of the water in your cup. And that formed in the big bang. How it got from there, into your cappuccino is one of the most dramatic stories in science. It has taken thousands of scientists to track its trail. We follow it through stars and galaxies, exploding supernovae, and giant clouds of gas to show just how it reached your cup.

But that isn’t the end of the story. For where it goes in the future, depends on the fate of the universe. Will it carry on expanding for ever, or tear itself apart?

  • The Most Powerful Black Holes in the Universe 4k

    48:01

The study of extreme physics brought us the bomb. It has taken us inside the violent death of a star. Now, it has brought us face to face with the most destructive force in Nature: a supermassive black hole. How large, how powerful, can these monsters get? What can they tell us about the extremes of time and space?

What if there was a museum that contained every type of life form in the universe? This experience takes you on a tour through the possible forms alien life might take, from the eerily familiar to the utterly exotic, ranging from the inside of the Earth to the most hostile corners of the universe.

New research is upending our idea of life and where it could be hiding: not just on Earth-like planets, where beings could mimic what our planet has produced, but in far flung places like the hearts of dead stars and the rings of gas giant planets. Nowhere in the universe is off limits.

Only when we know what else is out there will we truly know ourselves. This thought experiment will give us a glimpse into what could be out there, how we might find it, and just how far nature’s imagination might stretch.

  • Zooming out from Earth

    4:13

The video zooms out from Garching, the location of ESO's headquarters, out to Germany, beyond Europe and the Earth, out past the solar system and our Milky Way galaxy, and finally reaching a point where every single point of light flashing by is an entire galaxy.

The Earth was once believed to be the center of the Universe. Due to the apparent movements of the Sun and planets in relation to their viewpoint, ancient scientists insisted that the Earth remained static, whilst other celestial bodies travelled in circular orbits around it. Eventually, the view that the Sun was at the centre of the universe was postulated by Copernicus, though this is also not the case.

  • New: Mars In 4K

    10:09

A world first. New footage from Mars rendered in stunning 4K resolution. We also talk about the cameras on board the Martian rovers and how we made the video.

The cameras on board the rovers were the height of technology when the respective missions launched.

    A question often asked is:
‘Why don’t we actually have live video from Mars?’

Although the cameras are high quality, the rate at which the rovers can send data back to earth is the biggest challenge. Curiosity can only send data directly back to earth at 32 kilo-bits per second.

Instead, when the rover can connect to the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, we get more favourable speeds of 2 Megabytes per second.

However, this link is only available for about 8 minutes each Sol, or Martian day.

As you would expect, sending HD video at these speeds would take a long long time. As nothing really moves on Mars, it makes more sense to take and send back images.

It was one of those storms where close cloud-to-ground lightning was striking all around me in the rain free clear air. Luckily I was able to capture several amazing strikes on two seperate cameras. One camera is a 4K video camera with a global shutter and the other is a slow motion camera.

The second lightning bolt hit the ground right behind the tree as it was still burning. This is only a fraction of the amazing close lightning strikes caught on camera on this day. My next video about this spectacular event will go into more detail.

    Falling into Neptune description -
As you fall towards Neptune you would have an incredible view of the planets immense storms raging below you. You would be descending at a similar speed too if you were falling towards Earth, as Neptune's Gravity is only 14% stronger than our own planets. Because you are so far away from the sun, very little light reaches this distant part of the solar system, resembling a dim twilight back on Earth. You would first fall through high white, cirrus clouds made of methane ice crystals, at about 0.5 atmospheres, which is half the atmospheric pressure at sea level on Earth. At this altitude it is incredibly cold, dropping to below -200 degrees Celsius (-350degrees Fahrenheit). Around 30 miles down you would enter into the ammonia and hydrogen sulphide cloud decks at about 5 atmospheres. Hear the clouds move faster than the speed of sound on Earth, as Neptune experiences the fastest wind in the solar system, reaching speeds of up to 1500 miles per hour. But because of your super science fiction space suit, you are kept steady and continue on your descent. Because of Neptune's thick clouds and distance from the sun, no light can penetrate this deep and you would find yourself in a pitch black, cold, lonely environment, with violent winds whipping past your helmet. After falling for a long time you would be 100 miles into Neptune, when huge flashes of lightning illuminate your dark surroundings, revealing towering white water ice clouds that are causing rumbling thunderstorms to occur. As you pass through this cloud stage the pressure would increase to well above 50 atmospheres and the temperature would be around 26 degrees Celsius. Using your hi-tech science fiction helmet you can now see what's around you, but you would quickly realise that the cloud layers were the easy part of the adventure. As you emerge from the bottom of the water ice clouds the pressure would become intense and the temperature would drastically increase to above 1000 degrees Celsius. After a very long time of sinking, you would be around 4000 miles into Neptune and within the planets mysterious mantle layer. Hear your suit would have to withstand pressures greater than 10,000 atmospheres and increasing temperatures higher than 4000 degrees Celsius. This strange superheated layer is composed of water, methane and ammonia ices that behave as a hot dense fluid under immense pressures. Because of these extreme pressures carbon atoms might also crystallise and form diamonds. As you descend ever closer towards Neptune's core, these diamonds would rain down around you like glittering hailstone, as they slowly sink through the liquid mantle. After a long time of sinking through this thick region, with the pressures and temperatures continuing to drastically increase, your adventure would come to an end. Thousands of miles into the planet you would be standing on Neptune's core, a surface roughly the same mass as Earth and made of rock, iron and exotic ices, possibly with a layer of nestled diamonds. In this region you would be stranded, unable to travel further and unable to escape. You would be doomed to spend the rest of your life in a scorching environment with your science fiction suit having to withstand the temperature of above 5000 degrees Celsius and pressures of above 7 million atmospheres.

  • How Far Away Is It - 16 - The Cosmos

    40:37

    Text -
    Index -
Music and ad free version -
    website -
    Wiki page

In this final segment of our “How far away is it” video book, we cover the structure of the visible Universe as we currently know it.
    We start with some galaxy and galaxy clusters beyond our local superclusters, including: Abell 2029 with its supermassive galaxy IC 1101; Quasar Markarian; a massive cluster gravitationally lensing a more distant cluster; El Gordo; some distant supernovae remnants; gravitational lensing in giant galaxy clusters like Abell 1689, Abell 68, and more. We then cover dark matter discovery in the Coma cluster and evidence for it in the Bullet cluster. We see a gravitationally lensed supernova;
Next, we cover slowly expanding space and the impact that has on measuring distances using GN-z11, currently beyond the visible horizon, as an example. We also cover how recent redshift measurements from distant Type 1a Supernovas have provided evidence that the expansion is accelerating. We explain how this leads to the concept of ‘Dark Energy’ by examining the concept of a cosmic scale factor and how it changes over time. With this we introduce ‘cosmological redshift’ as a measure of the expansion.
We then cover the creation of the Cosmic Background Microwave (CMB) radiation and what that tells us about the formation of galaxy walls around great voids. We then cover some of the recent galaxy surveys that are helping us understand the fabric of the visible Universe. These include the 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey of 52,000 galaxies out to 3 billion light years, and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey that mapped one million galaxies. We show the 3D supercomputer video that shows the fabric of the Universe is like a web of galaxies with massive voids. We show some of the galaxy surveys that show this web-like structure.
We conclude with a review of the cosmic distance ladder and our last adjustment based on cosmological redshift. And we end with Edwin Hubble’s own words on the limits of our knowledge.

This is a time-lapse video resulting from a 15,000 km (almost 10,000 miles) long road trip and tens of thousands of images taken along the way over the last 5 months. The journey has covered all of Norway’s 19 counties, from the far south to the Russian border in the Northeast.
The aim of this 5 minute short film is to show the variety of Norway, everything from the deep fjords in the Southwest, to the moon landscape in the North, the Aurora Borealis (Nothern Lights) and the settlements and cities around the country, both in summer and wintertime. The video shows some of the most scenic places in Norway, such as Lofoten, Senja, Helgelandskysten, Geirangerfjorden, Nærøyfjorden and Preikestolen.

If you are interested in reading the tales, seeing behind-the-scenes photos from the journey and a map of the route driven, head over to rustadmedia.com

The soundtrack is custom-made for this film by the very talented fellow Norwegian Jogeir.

  • Himalaya -An Everest Time Lapse Film

    2:34

To license these images please visit:

A time-lapse journey from the roof of the world in 4K.

3,408 still images stitched together to portray a single day in the majestic Himalayas.

    The story behind the images:

Some of us are vocal and social when it comes to our pain, others suffer silently and quietly like warriors waiting out the storms of life. As I assembled these images, I was flooded with memories I had tucked away deep in the vault of my past, images in some cases I am only seeing for the first time after almost 5 years.

2014 and 2015 were devastating years on Mt. Everest with the highest recorded number of fatalities. I was there for both seasons. I got lucky in 2014 and was trapped above the avalanche that claimed the lives of 16 Sherpa men. In 2015 I was hit directly by the tidal wave of snow that took out EBC that claimed the lives of over 18 people. I was again, fortunate to survive. It took a long time to sort this all out emotionally and psychologically. I took a break for a few years while I constructed a new narrative and quietly dealt with the post traumatic stress. Leaving the footage alone on my hard drives was a part of that strategy, my own healing process.

You’d never know by watching the imagery, in particular the time lapse-pan at basecamp (1:35) with the low hanging clouds, what was really going on during that time. Focusing on the beauty rather than the devastation was the only way I knew how to deal with the situation at the time.

A bit of truth from the archives.

This collection is part of the unseen imagery from 2014-2015 seasons.

May peace be upon those who passed away.

Assisted by my great friend, Pasang Kaji Sherpa.

Special thank you to Kancha Sherpa and his team of porters who tolerated and supported my late night camera antics in a world above the clouds. This is as much my hard work as it theirs. Namaste.

Hope you enjoy it. Be sure to watch in 4K.

Right now, I'm in a state of mind
I wanna be in like all the time
Ain't got no tears left to cry
So I'm pickin' it up, pickin' it up
I'm lovin', I'm livin', I'm pickin' it up
I'm pickin' it up, pickin' it up
I'm lovin', I'm livin', I'm pickin' it up (oh, yeah)
I'm pickin' it up (yeah), pickin' it up (yeah)
Lovin', I'm livin', so we turnin' up
    Yeah, we turnin' it up
Ain't got no tears in my body
I ran out, but boy, I like it, I like it, I like it
Don't matter how, what, where, who tries it
We're out here vibin', we vibin', we vibin'
Comin' out, even when it's rainin' down
Can't stop now, can't stop so shut your mouth
Shut your mouth, and if you don't know
Then now you know it, babe
    Know it, babe, yeah
Right now, I'm in a state of mind
I wanna be in, like, all the time
Ain't got no tears left to cry
So I'm pickin' it up, pickin' it up (oh yeah)
I'm lovin', I'm livin', I'm pickin' it up
Oh, I just want you to come with me
    We're on another mentality
Ain't got no tears left to cry
So I'm pickin' it up, pickin' it up
I'm lovin', I'm livin', I'm pickin' it up
Pickin' it up, pickin' it up
I'm lovin', I'm livin', I'm pickin' it up (oh, yeah)
    Yeah, we turnin' it up
They point out the colors in you, I see 'em too
And, boy, I like 'em, I like 'em, I like 'em
We're way too fly to partake in all this hate
We out here vibin', we vibin', we vibin'
Comin' out, even when it's rainin' down
Can't stop now, can't stop, so shut your mouth

  • NASA | Thermonuclear Art – The Sun In Ultra-HD

    30:25

It’s always shining, always ablaze with light and energy that drive weather, biology and more. In addition to keeping life alive on Earth, the sun also sends out a constant flow of particles called the solar wind, and it occasionally erupts with giant clouds of solar material, called coronal mass ejections, or explosions of X-rays called solar flares. These events can rattle our space environment out to the very edges of our solar system. In space, NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory, or SDO, keeps an eye on our nearest star 24/7. SDO captures images of the sun in 10 different wavelengths, each of which helps highlight a different temperature of solar material. In this video, we experience SDO images of the sun in unprecedented detail. Presented in ultra-high definition, the video presents the dance of the ultra-hot material on our life-giving star in extraordinary detail, offering an intimate view of the grand forces of the solar system.

  • Apollo 13 Views of the Moon in 4K

    2:25

This video uses data gathered from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter spacecraft to recreate some of the stunning views of the Moon that the Apollo 13 astronauts saw on their perilous journey around the farside in 1970. These visualizations, in 4K resolution, depict many different views of the lunar surface, starting with earthset and sunrise and concluding with the time Apollo 13 reestablished radio contact with Mission Control. Also depicted is the path of the free return trajectory around the Moon, and a continuous view of the Moon throughout that path. All views have been sped up for timing purposes — they are not shown in real-time.

  • How Large is the Universe? 4k

    25:02

The universe has long captivated us with its immense scales of distance and time. How far does it stretch? Where does it end, and what lies beyond its star fields and streams of galaxies extending as far as telescopes can see?

These questions are beginning to yield to a series of extraordinary new lines of investigation and technologies that are letting us to peer into the most distant realms of the cosmos. But also at the behavior of matter and energy on the smallest of scales. Remarkably, our growing understanding of this kingdom of the ultra-tiny, inside the nuclei of atoms, permits us to glimpse the largest vistas of space and time. In ancient times, most observers saw the stars as a sphere surrounding the earth, often the home of deities. The Greeks were the first to see celestial events as phenomena, subject to human investigation rather than the fickle whims of the Gods.

One sky-watcher, for example, suggested that meteors are made of materials found on Earth... and might have even come from the Earth. Those early astronomers built the foundations of modern science. But they would be shocked to see the discoveries made by their counterparts today. The stars and planets that once harbored the gods are now seen as infinitesimal parts of a vast scaffolding of matter and energy extending far out into space.

Just how far began to emerge in the 1920s. Working at the huge new 100-inch Hooker Telescope on California's Mt. Wilson, astronomer Edwin Hubble, along with his assistant named Milt Humason, analyzed the light of fuzzy patches of sky... known then as nebulae.

They showed that these were actually distant galaxies far beyond our own. Hubble and Humason discovered that most of them are moving away from us. The farther out they looked, the faster they were receding. This fact, now known as Hubble's law, suggests that there must have been a time when the matter in all these galaxies was together in one place.

That time, when our universe sprung forth, has come to be called the Big Bang. How large the cosmos has gotten since then depends on how long its been growing and its expansion rate. Recent precision measurements gathered by the Hubble space telescope and other instruments have brought a consensus...

That the universe dates back 13.7 billion years. Its radius, then, is the distance a beam of light would have traveled in that time ... 13.7 billion light years. That works out to about 1.3 quadrillion kilometers. In fact, it's even bigger.... Much bigger. How it got so large, so fast, was until recently a deep mystery.

That the universe could expand had been predicted back in 1917 by Albert Einstein, except that Einstein himself didn't believe it until he saw Hubble and Humason's evidence. Einstein's general theory of relativity suggested that galaxies could be moving apart because space itself is expanding.

So when a photon gets blasted out from a distant star, it moves through a cosmic landscape that is getting larger and larger, increasing the distance it must travel to reach us. In 1995, the orbiting telescope named for Edwin Hubble began to take the measure of the universe... by looking for the most distant galaxies it could see.

Taking the expansion of the universe into account, the space telescope found galaxies that are now almost 46 billion light years away from us in each direction... and almost 92 billion light years from each other. And that would be the whole universe... according to a straightforward model of the big bang. But remarkably, that might be a mere speck within the universe as a whole, according to a dramatic new theory that describes the origins of the cosmos.

  • When Will Time End? - 4k

    25:00

You can find this and many other great 4k docs on our MagellanTV app.

The answer to this question may depend on whether Stephen Hawking was right in his theory that describes how black holes shed mass and eventually decay. Time is flying by on this busy, crowded planet as life changes and evolves from second to second. At the same time, the arc of the human lifespan is getting longer: 67 years is the global average, up from just 20 years in the Stone Age.

Modern science provides a humbling perspective. Our lives, indeed even that of the human species, are just a blip compared to the Earth, at 4.5 billion years and counting, and the universe, at 13.7 billion years.

It now appears the entire cosmos is living on borrowed time. It may be a blip within a much grander sweep of time. When, we now ask, will time end?

Our lives are governed by cycles of waking and sleeping, the seasons, birth and death. Understanding time in cyclical terms connects us to the natural world, but it does not answer the questions of science.

What explains Earth's past, its geological eras and its ancient creatures? And where did our world come from? How and when will it end? In the revolutions spawned by Copernicus and Darwin, we began to see time as an arrow, in a universe that's always changing.

The 19th century physicist, Ludwig Boltzmann, found a law he believed governed the flight of Time's arrow. Entropy, based on the 2nd law of thermodynamics, holds that states of disorder tend to increase.

From neat, orderly starting points, the elements, living things, the earth, the sun, the galaxy. are all headed eventually to states of high entropy or disorder. Nature fights this inevitable disintegration by constantly reassembling matter and energy into lower states of entropy in cycles of death and rebirth.

Will entropy someday win the battle and put the breaks on time's arrow? Or will time, stubbornly, keep moving forward?

We are observers, and pawns, in this cosmic conflict. We seek mastery of time's workings, even as the clock ticks down to our own certain end. Our windows into the nature of time are the mechanisms we use to chart and measure a changing universe, from the mechanical clocks of old, to the decay of radioactive elements, or telescopes that measure the speed of distant objects.

Our lives move in sync with the 24-hour day, the time it takes the Earth to rotate once. Well, it's actually 23 hours, 56 minutes and 4.1 seconds if you're judging by the stars, not the sun. Earth got its spin at the time of its birth, from the bombardment of rocks and dust that formed it. But it's gradually losing it to drag from the moon's gravity.

  • Seeing Inside the Sun - 4K

    9:54

How can we peer inside the Sun to find out how it delivers its life-giving warmth to planet Earth? Dr. Robert Stein, professor of Physics and Astronomy at Michigan State Universe has long envisioned a day when he could use supercomputer programs to see through the roiling surface of the sun and glimpse its dynamic interior. He describes his quest and offers ideas about what drives the violent outbursts known as coronal mass ejections, or CMEs, known to disrupt the electrical systems that power our civilization.

  • 4K VIDEO TIME LAPSE WITH CHILLED MUSIC

    10:10

In this video you see some of the most amazing nature time lapse ever
such as clouds time lapse stars time lapse and many more just see it enjoy it and watch complete video for complete beauty,

Nature is natural. There’s something about the outdoors that gets our blood flowing smoother and our heart beating stronger. There’s probably some sort of research about endorphins and all sorts of science that can explain why the wilderness refreshes us. These nature quotes on life and natural beauty will get you excited about being outside, whether you need it or not.

It seems strange the one of the greatest thinkers of all time would give such praise to nature. The reality is that all the great math and science geniuses loved nature. Newton’s apple was the first and Fibonacci observed his sequence in nature before he made note of it. Just about every great discovery has come from a keen observation of nature.

Nature is often seen as something we can escape to when life is hard. The reality is that the nature that surrounds us is far more meaningful and far more valuable than the money that we chase and obsess over. If we appreciated nature the way we love money, we might just make the world a bit more peaceful… and beautiful.

The harvest season is the time when all the leaves begin to turn. Seeing the brilliant colors is just as beautiful as watching them bloom and blossom in the Spring. Nature gives us two seasons to enjoy the colorful array of her Beauty.

It’s easy to get lost in the woods. Horror movies change the way we think about the darkness, but we shouldn’t fear it. Instead, we should embrace the beauty and depth of the woods. There are unending adventures waiting for us, just outside.

    Some beautiful Nature Quotes

In every walk in with nature one receives far more than he seeks. ...
By discovering nature, you discover yourself. ...
Going to the mountains is going home. ...
Love the world as your own self; then you can truly care for all things. ...
    Nature is pleased with simplicity.
We don’t inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children. Native American proverb
The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.
Adopt the pace of nature. Her secret is patience
