    ????

The space suits already beat any of NASA’s own design but, be that as it may, we do need to look at the competition SpaceX has.
We don’t need to look any further than Boeing, the same venerable company that has been fighting SpaceX for the right to launch NASA’s missions.
It has designed a pressure suit to protect passengers through the critical periods of launch and re-entry for the contract with NASA to transport humans to the space station in its CST-100 Starliner spacecraft.
The Boeing Blue suits are around 40% lighter and more flexible than previous generations of space suits worn by American astronauts.

SpaceX's sleek spacesuit changes astronaut fashion from the space
shuttle era as a new breed of spacecraft requires a new breed of
    spacesuits.
For the first time since a decade ago, dubbed as the space shuttle era,
American astronauts are expected to fly to space aboard the SpaceX Crew
Dragon spacecraft, marking the first commercial crew flight for NASA and
the first time astronauts will launch from American soil in nearly a decade.
When crew-1 astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley will dorn their new
spiffy spacesuits, long-time space enthusiasts will take notice of one thing
different – that is, they would not be wearing the orange pumpkin flight
suits astronauts used to wear during the launch phase of shuttle flights
    managed by NASA.
During a dress rehearsal ahead of the company’s uncrewed In-Flight Abort
Test on 17th of January 2020, NASA astronauts Bob Behnken, and Doug
Hurley shook hands after suiting up in SpaceX spacesuits in the Astronaut
Crew Quarters at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
The SpaceX spacesuits are a cool, one-piece white design, and much
sleeker than the bulky space shuttle launch suits, which were also known
as the Advanced Crew Escape Suit (ACES). So slim was the new SpaceX
spacesuit design that in 2018, the company's founder Elon Musk had to
reassure concerned Instagram followers after the reveal: It definitely
works. You can just jump in a vacuum chamber with it, and it's fine.
The astronauts flying on the first crewed test flight of SpaceX's Crew
Dragon have also commented on differences with the SpaceX suit,
compared to other spacesuits astronauts have used in different years.
This [SpaceX] suit is significantly different than the suit we wore on
shuttle, Hurley, a veteran of space shuttle flights STS-129 and STS-135,
said during a preflight press conference May 1, without going into much
detail. He alluded to some differences to the Sokol suit the Russians use
for space flight but added he never actually went through the entire suit-
up process since the Sokol was used as a backup if something went
wrong during his brief mission to the International Space Station (ISS).
But even though the SpaceX suit is newer, it will go through the same
preflight checks as the pumpkin suit and the Sokol suit. It's similar in that
they check the suits for leaks, they check the comm system, and they just
want to make sure everything is good to go before you head out to the
    pad, Hurley said.
Subsequently, two of these SpaceX spacesuits proved their worth in
space, before being used by humans. One flew with the Tesla-driving
dummy that launched on a Falcon Heavy rocket in 2018, and another was
used on the dummy Ripley that flew aboard the uncrewed SpaceX Crew
Dragon Demo-1 test flight to the ISS in 2019.
If it looks like the spacesuit is built for a movie set, that could be because
the suit designer is legendary Hollywood costume designer Jose
Fernandez, who is known for costumes in blockbusters such as Wonder
Woman, Wolverine, Batman vs. Superman and Captain America: Civil
    War.
What we're doing on the on SpaceX side ... is to kind of reach back and
kind of pull forward, maybe, a retro styling or a different way of creating
their own unique kind of mission symbol or symbology rather than trying
to copy what was done on the space shuttle side, said Behnken, a veteran
of space shuttle flights STS-123 and STS-130, in a pre-flight video
interview May 4 on NASA's YouTube channel.

Nasa and #spcaex plan to return astronauts to the moon by twenty twenty five, was far fetched, when it was announced in twenty nineteen and became less likely each year as lawmakers have declined, to pay for the project in full. Still, NASA publicly maintains the twenty twenty four target date despite delays for the rocket that will take astronauts.

Back to the moon. The vehicles that will carry them down to its surface and now the space suits they'll wear to protect them from the moons. Airless environment with the temperatures range between two hundred and sixty degrees Fahrenheit to minus two hundred eighty degrees Fahrenheit. This isn't easy as NASA considers these space suits to be effectively one person space vehicles requiring sophisticated life support systems and reliable communications as well as the means to keep astronauts comfortable.

Fed hydrated and capable of rambling about and using various tools, the NASA Inspector General said that despite four hundred and twenty million dollars spent since two thousand and eight NASA will not have two suits ready for the muted twenty twenty four landing. The agency was attempting to design, test and build the suit in house, working with twenty seven different subcontractors. The total price tag is expected to be over one billion dollars more than what it cost to build the falcon nine.

The NASA Inspector General said that despite $420 million spent since 2008, NASA will not have two suits ready for the mooted 2024 landing. The agency was attempting to design, test, and build the suit in-house, working with 27 different subcontractors.

The total price tag is expected to be over $1 billion, more than what it cost to build the Falcon 9 orbital rocket and cargo Dragon spacecraft, as former SpaceX engine guru Tom Mueller observed. Elon Musk offered to step in and build a suit for the space agency.

Elon Musk offered SpaceX’s services to help NASA make its next-generation spacesuits.

“SpaceX could do it if need be,” Musk wrote in a tweet.

Musk’s company has developed and made flight suits for astronauts who launch into orbit in SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft. The flight suits are primarily designed to protect the astronauts in case of a fire inside of the spacecraft, or if the cabin depressurizes. Building spacesuits would be a more complex and challenging endeavor, given the need to survive outside of a spacecraft in the harsh environment of space.

Musk’s proposal came in response to a report by NASA’s inspector general on the work being done to develop a new line of Extravehicular Mobility Units, which are informally called spacesuits.

Astronauts onboard the International Space Station use spacesuits “designed 45 years ago for the Space Shuttle” program, the report noted. The IG also highlighted that those spacesuits have been “refurbished and partially redesigned” over the past decades to continue working.

NASA needs new spacesuits for its Artemis program, which was announced by former President Donald Trump’s administration and has continued under President Joe Biden. Artemis is expected to consist of multiple missions to the moon’s orbit and surface in the years ahead, with NASA aiming to land astronauts on the lunar body by 2024. Although NASA has stuck to the 2024 goal, the inspector general has warned repeatedly that the schedule is threatened by several major programs that are key to Artemis’ success.

Musk earlier this year called the 2024 timeline “actually doable,” after SpaceX became one of the critical pieces of Artemis by winning a $2.9 billion contract to use its Starship rocket to deliver astronauts to the moon’s surface.

The spacesuits have a multitude of different components, which the inspector general noted are supplied by 27 different companies. That’s a point Musk also highlighted, saying in a tweet that it “seems like too many cooks in the kitchen.”

Still, Musk has enough on his plate hustling to get his next big rocket, Starship, off the ground. NASA has tapped it to take astronauts down to the surface of the moon, but in doing so, it snubbed Blue Origin and Dynetics, two other bidders, who issued a formal protest which was rejected by the Government Accountability Organization (GAO).

SpaceX began constructing a space suit for astronauts to wear inside the Dragon 2 space vehicle in February 2015.
After a watchdog investigation revealed that NASA's current space suit program is behind schedule and will cost more than $1 billion, Elon Musk volunteered SpaceX's services to assist the agency in developing its next-generation spacesuits. “SpaceX could do it if need be,” Musk wrote in a tweet.
SpaceX did not reply to a request for comment from CNBC on whether it had started developing its own spacesuits. While the company hasn't made its spacesuit ambitions public, it is one of roughly 50 businesses that have indicated an interest in NASA's initiative to buy privately designed spacesuits and spacewalk services.

    All About SpaceX Space Suit

For the first time in a decade, astronauts will not be wearing the traditional orange pumpkin flight suits that they are used to wearing during the preparation period of NASA-managed shuttle flights.
The SpaceX spacesuits are a pleasant one-piece white style that is considerably slimmer than the bulky space shuttle launch suits, also known as the Advanced Crew Escape Suit (ACES), that can properly fit an astronaut and make them feel more comfortable. This design has previously been demonstrated to be effective. SpaceX's spacesuit is designed to be functional, lightweight, and to offer protection from potential depressurization,
The helmet is custom manufactured using 3D-printing technology and includes integrated valves, mechanisms for visor retraction and locking, and microphones within the helmet's structure.
The good news is that the SpaceX suit has previously been tested twice in space and proven to be effective before being worn by humans.

Elon Musk offers for SpaceX to make NASA spacesuits, after watchdog says program to cost $1 billion

NASA's plan to return humans to the moon, Artemis, was officially delayed.
The agency has let go of the deadline 2024! The new timeline 2025 has been given up!
To date, no one is sure of the schedules of the great historic mission.
One of the main reasons belongs to lunar spacesuit delays.
That is also a problem that NASA engineers have been pondering for a long time.
To help NASA solve this headache, Elon Musk once offered for SpaceX to make NASA spacesuits with his own technology!
So, does the spacesuit designed by SpaceX have something superior to that of NASA?
Let’s find out more in today’s episode of Great SpaceX!

With any crew landing in space, ensuring the life and health of astronauts is an essential task.
Therefore, the development of the spacesuit is one of the top priorities!
    Nasa follows the same principle.
The development of new spacesuits is a critical component of achieving NASA’s goals of returning humans to the Moon, continuing safe operations on the ISS, and exploring Mars and other deep-space locations.
The agency has already spent $420 million on spacesuit development since 2007, before the advent of its Artemis program, and it plans to “invest approximately $625.2 million more” through 2025.
The space suit’s design and purpose have changed repeatedly over the years as NASA’s priorities in space teeter between new administrations.

NASA Designs Near Light Speed Engine That Breaks Laws Of Physics
    ► Subscribe:

The planet Earth isn’t going to be habitable forever. If the human race is going to survive, one day we’ll have to pack up our things, and move to another planet. It sounds easy, until you realize the vastness of space, and even how big our solar system is.

No matter where we’re going in space, we need to travel fast, and not just at the speed of light either. We’re talking about ludicrous speed.

But some researchers have designed an impossible engine that violates the laws of physics. And another group of scientists’ are now saying a warp drive is possible. Is NASA really working on this technology, and what does the future hold for space travel?

    We are on social media:

  • IT HAPPENED! Elon Musk & NASA FINALLY Reveal New Light Speed Engine 2022

    9:08

Elon Musk and NASA have something in common; the billionaire and the iconic space
agency want to take people to places in deep space! While the two have different
reasons for the desire, they both face the same limitation of distance, which makes it
challenging to build capable spacecraft. To overcome this limitation of having enough
fuel for space travel, NASA and Musk's company, SpaceX, have revealed a
revolutionary method of propulsion that keeps rockets going forever and ever into deep
space! What is this propulsion, how does it work, and how does it affect you? Join us to
explore how NASA and SpaceX have finally revealed the Near Speed Light engine!
If you are a sci-fi fan, you would have seen space movies where the rocket keeps going
and going! While much of the film is focused on the conflicts between the characters,
nothing is usually said about how the rocket is powered! But of course, that is the
creative freedom movie makers enjoy that allows them to make hit movies that entertain
us! However, people that actually send rockets to space will tell you it is not always a
    bed of roses out there!
One sci-fi fan is Musk, the CEO of space exploration company SpaceX. The billionaire
has the rare privilege of living out his space dreams, unlike the rest of us. That's why
you will see terms lifted from sci-fi in some of the real life products that he builds. One
example is the Mechazilla that he says will grab rocket boosters mid-air! However
audacious the scheme is, even Musk himself admitted it could fail spectacularly, the
illustrious inventor actually derived the name from the Mechagodzilla, a character from
    the popular Godzilla film franchise!
Musk, too, wants to cruise people through space, a goal he shares with NASA!
However, the motivations for the two are different! Musk intends to prepare humanity to
escape possible catastrophic galactic accidents that could wipe out humanity entirely
from the Earth! While you might cringe at the possibility and would rather not consider it,
Musk is a practical man and wants to preserve as much slice of humanity as possible in
    the face of such disasters!
This is why Musk wants to set up a human outpost on other plants! The motivation is
strong enough that Musk is building what will be the most powerful rocket in history
when it is ready! Musk plans to transport at least one million people from Earth to planet
Mars within a short time so that the community can become self sufficient! Far removed
from Earth, the new colony will not be affected by any disaster people that refuse to
    leave will face!
NASA wants to send people to Mars, too, although on a far smaller scale! The agency
plans to send its astronauts to the Red Planet eventually. Different probes have
explored the planet, expanding our knowledge of the planet with high-resolution pictures
of diverse landscapes on Mars. NASA's rovers have been joined by a similar explorer
by China and might welcome Saudi Arabia's effort too! However, nothing beats having
boots on the ground, as NASA has done on the moon! In fact, NASA is working with
SpaceX to resume regular missions to the moon and build bases there. Interestingly,
NASA has admitted the missions to the moon will be a dress rehearsal for missions to
Mars! The agency will take any lessons learned on the moon and apply them to Mars!
The purpose is to hopefully find the purpose and origin of life, starting with trying to
determine if there is life on Mars.
Both NASA and SpaceX are banking on the Starship to take their humans to Mars, with
what is essentially a trial run taking place when NASA uses the Starship to put its
astronauts on the moon. However, the two entities have their eyes set on other planets
and planetary bodies that are beyond Mars. NASA wants to send missions to Jupiter
    and its moons!
However, one problem both NASA and SpaceX have to solve is distance! Anywhere
you are going to in space is far! The universe exists on such a large scale that moving
from one planet to another involves millions of miles. For example, the trip to Mars that
Musk is planning can take up to six months when it takes advantage of the best launch
    window!
Better still, the closest star to Earth is Proxima Centauri. It is about 4.25 light-years
away, or about 25 trillion miles or 40 trillion km! The fastest ever spacecraft, the now-in-
space Parker Solar Probe, will reach a top speed of 450,000 mph. It would take just 20
seconds to go from Los Angeles to New York City at that speed, but it would take the
solar probe about 6,633 years to reach Earth's nearest neighboring solar system!

  • SpaceX Suits VS NASA Suits: What’s The Difference?

    8:04

When SpaceX set out to fly humans onboard its spacecraft, it decided to create its spacesuit in-house in Hawthorne, California, in the same building as SpaceX's rockets. Spacesuits are essentially complex, personalized, human-shaped spacecraft — they must be comfortable for the astronauts to wear during long flights inside small spacecraft while protecting them from changes in oxygen levels and pressure.
SpaceX is a privately owned company founded by Elon while NASA is a government-owned and funded organization which means there will be some differences in their operations. And of course, there will be differences in their spacesuits, although the primary function of spacesuits is the same which is to protect crew members from depressurization, where air is lost from the capsule, and also ensure astronauts have sufficient oxygen and regulate their temperature. So in this video, we‘ll look into how SpaceX spacesuit differs from NASA spacesuits down the years.
The first difference long-time space watchers will notice about SpaceX spacesuits is that they are not the orange pumpkin flight suits astronauts used to wear during the launch phase of shuttle flights managed by NASA. The SpaceX spacesuits are a cool, one-piece white design, and much sleeker than the bulky space shuttle launch suits, which were also known as the Advanced Crew Escape Suit (ACES). The Musk suits have darker panels down the sides to visually taper and mold the torso, squared-off shoulder lines, aerodynamic seams from collarbone to the knee, and matching knee-high superhero boots. They do not have the dangling hoses, knobs, and wires of the traditional suits.
Elon Musk likes doing things that stand out and can make a statement on its own. Musk wanted the suits to stand out, so he took a very different approach from most spacesuit projects, including those at NASA, which typically involve tapping outside specialist contractors with a long history of experience to help with the work. Musk simply went to that source rather than to the usual contractors. Musk tapped Jose Fernandez, a costume designer for superhero movies such as ‘Batman vs Superman,’ ‘The Fantastic Four,’ ‘The Avengers,’ ‘X-Men II,’ among others, to create a prototype.
Invited to be one of six to try out for the job, Fernandez created a helmet, although he had only two weeks, he ended up working with Musk for six months to design the suit, which was later reverse engineered to meet space travel requirements. Musk has focused on the appearance of SpaceX's suits since the company began designing them several years ago. I spent a lot of time — it took us almost four years to design these suits that both look good and work well, Musk said.
Musk wanted the suits to stand out. When people put this space suit on, he wants them to look better than they did without it, like a tux. So the tuxedo associations are not an accident. He wanted the astronauts to look heroic in it.
Fernandez said that during the design process, Musk “kept saying, ‘Anyone looks better in a tux, no matter what size or shape they are.” So what the SpaceX suits evoke most of all is James Bond’s tuxedo if it were redesigned by Tony Stark as an upgrade for James T. Kirk’s next big adventure. Streamlined, graphic, and articulated, the suits are more a part of the pop-culture-Comic-Con continuum of space style than the NASA continuum. It’s little wonder, given that the prototype was created by Fernandez alongside Musk.
The SpaceX suit was worn by NASA astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley on their launch to the International Space Station aboard Dragon, and each one of the suits is tailored to the crew member. They're designed to be a single piece, with specialized parts.
International Latex Corporation—ILC has been the primary supplier of spacesuits for NASA since the dawn of Apollo. ILC is the maker of Playtex bras and girdles. Seamstresses went from sewing undergarments to stitching together thin layers of high-tech fabric on their noisy Singer sewing machines.
SpaceX spacesuit is different from the ones worn on spacewalks outside the space station which makes it different from NASA suits. The suits are just designed for use inside the SpaceX spacecraft capsule, known as the Crew Dragon. They are meant to protect against the dangers of launch, including brief periods of vacuum or high heat, but not outer space. SpaceX suit was made easy to use, something that the crew just has to plug in when they sit down, and then the suit kind of takes care of itself from there. For the spacewalk outside the space station, the astronauts use NASA's Extravehicular Mobility Units (EMU), which are designed to work for eight to 10 hours in full vacuum-like space and protect astronauts from dangerous radiation.
NASA spacesuits such as the one designed for the Apollo program had boots made to walk on rocky ground. The Apollo suits also had a life support system.

What is the James Webb Space Telescope? In simpler terms, you can say the James Webb Space Telescope is a vast and complex magnifying glass in the sky. In more technical terms, it is the most powerful and most complex observatory ever built by man. This space telescope was built with the combined efforts of three space agencies: NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), ESA (European Space Agency), and CSA (Canadian Space Agency). It was named after James E. Webb, NASA's administrator, from 1961 to 1968. He played an influential role in the Apollo program and was vital to its success. This new telescope was designed as the successor to the Hubble Space Telescope.

  • SpaceX Embarrassed NASA with their High tech space suit

    6:13

There is always one thing that stands out when it comes to science fiction or science fact episodes set in space: the spacesuit. Our sense of enthusiasm and inspiration is sparked by seeing astronauts dressed in improved spacesuits.
As with any SpaceX project, the company has exploded the market with a revolutionary spacesuit design unlike anything NASA has ever attempted. Is it the revolutionary features of this space suit that make it so different from anything NASA has previously developed? We'll take a closer look at the spacesuit in detail.
The crew suits worn by astronauts during last year's Crew Dragon mission, as well as all other spacesuits worn by astronauts from other countries, were far cry from the orange shuttle flight suits astronauts wore when they launched from Florida's Kennedy Space Center.
We should, however, define what space suits are before we move forward. Astronauts wear spacesuits, also known as EMUs (extravehicular mobility units), in order to stay alive in harsh conditions such as vacuums and extreme temperatures.
They are also necessary for extravehicular work (EVA) performed outside the spaceship when the cabin pressure drops. Spacesuits are routinely worn inside spacecraft as a safety measure.
These missions have involved wearing space suits in Earth orbit, on the surface of the Moon, and returning to Earth after having been there.

You may remember Elon Musk's #SpaceX company was awarded the NASA program? This NASA mission Artemis, which was supposed to return humans to the moon, has been postponed. Further, a new deadline of 2025 has been given instead of 2024 and even the old timeline of 2024 has been withdrawn. And it is said that a delay in the lunar space suit is one of the main reasons for uncertainty regarding the schedules of this great historic mission. Further, this is another problem NASA engineers have been contemplating for a long time. Rather than waiting for NASA to solve this problem, #ElonMusk is offering SpaceX the opportunity to produce NASA's #spacesuits. Is it true that the spacesuits developed by SpaceX will offer something superior to those designed by NASA?

  • IT HAPPENED! SpaceX FINALLY Reveals New Starship Droneship in January 2022!

    9:14

When it comes to dreaming, no one does it better than Elon Musk! Likewise, when it
comes to pursuing dreams, you still have to give it up to Musk! He will make the
impossible happen just to get what he wants! For example, to be able to land his
rockets at sea instead of land, Musk uses one of the modern wonders of technology,
drone ships, as platforms! The billionaire CEO has revealed an even bigger and more
powerful Starship droneship in 2022! How powerful is the new droneship, and how will
SpaceX deploy it? In this video, we dive into all the details of the new Starship
droneship 2022 just released by Elon Musk!
However, here is your quick reminder to keep updated by liking our channel and tapping
    the notification icon!
Reusability is a big deal to Elon Musk! In fact, if a rocket is not reusable, Musk does not
want to hear about it! He believes behind able to fly rockets again is the key to
unlocking affordable space launches! The way rockets have been working does not
make sense to Musk because it is a single-use product. That is a lot of money and effort
wasted, hardly an efficient method to run an industry! Musk compared this method of
operating rockets to flying aircraft only once! That would make air flights exorbitantly
expensive! This is precisely what has been going on in the space industry for decades,
but Musk, ever the disruptor, is changing all of that!
This is why its Falcon series of rockets is partially reusable. After separating from the
upper stage, the booster returns to the Earth to be refurbished for another flight! The
financial implications of being able to reuse the Falcon 9, for example, is interesting!
Musk himself revealed how the money aspect works out on Twitter. Michael Baylor,
known as @nextspaceflight, on Twitter posted that United Launch Alliance claimed a
booster had to fly 10 times for reusing it to make sense economically. He noted that
SpaceX had reflown the Falcon 9 six times, apparently thinking the company has four
more flights to go before it could completely recoup its booster investment.
    Show these tweets:

However, Musk corrected Baylor that by reflying a booster three times, you have made
up the cost of the booster! This is not strange because he had earlier revealed that the
booster stage accounted for 60 percent of the total launch costs. So if you can get your
boosters back, it is a big deal! In the same Twitter thread, Musk revealed that a booster
could fly up to 100 times! That is a lot of times to recover a booster!
SpaceX changed the rocket game by recovering its first first-stage booster in 2015. The
success was thanks to a series of upgrades the company provided to its workhorse
Falcon 9. Featuring a more robust thermal protection system, titanium grid fins, and a
more durable interstage, i.e., the part that connects the rocket's two stages, the souped-
up Falcon 9 rocket of today is capable of flying many times over.
Now, recovering a booster is not an easy task because these boosters do land out at
sea! Before we go into how SpaceX recovers its boosters from the sea, why exactly
does SpaceX land its boosters in the sea?
It all comes down to fuel. You need a great deal of fuel to land the first stage on the
ground by reigniting its engine and reducing its speed from more than 8,000 km per
hour or 5,000 miles per hour down to zero! For low-orbit trips, this does not pose much
of a problem. But for more prolonged trips, landing on the ground is not an option.
For example, launches for missions beyond Earth's orbit, like a SpaceX's spacecraft
going to Mars, require a higher velocity and, thus, more speed and less fuel available
    for a landing!
Using a launch in Florida as an example, the rocket goes from Florida and heads East
over the Atlantic Ocean; a sea landing reduces the travel distance back to Earth to
perform a landing, as the rocket doesn't have to travel as far.
This means for more ambitious launches, SpaceX can't return its first stage of the rocket
to land. As Musk put it at a conference, For half our missions, we will need to land out
to sea. Anything beyond Earth is likely to need to land on the ship.
While the main motivation for sea landing is logistics, it is safer to land on the sea
because things can go wrong, resulting in mighty explosions. On land, this could be a
risk to facilities and staff nearby.
So, while landing at sea is more complicated, SpaceX just has to do it!
Now, if you simply drop your rocket into the sea, you will probably lose it to irreversible
damage. This is where a key component of SpaceX's reusable operation, the droneship,
comes in! The space company has three of them. These drone ships are massive

A spacesuit is a suit designed to keep a person alive in the harsh conditions of outer space, vacuum, and extreme temperatures. Spacesuits are frequently worn inside spacecraft as a safety precaution in the event of cabin pressure loss, and they are also required for extra vehicular activity or work performed outside the spacecraft.

SpaceX's spacesuits add a complex system of equipment and environmental systems to the basic pressure garment to keep the wearer comfortable and reduce the effort required to bend the limbs.

A self-contained oxygen supply and environmental control system is frequently used to overcome a soft pressure garment's natural tendency to stiffen against the vacuum, allowing complete freedom of movement independent of the spacecraft. Space may be the final frontier, but it's wildly inaccessible and downright deadly to any plucky human without a great spacesuit.

SpaceX, a space exploration and transportation company, successfully launched its first passengers into space aboard the Spacex Falcon 9 rocket. Many people couldn't help but notice the beautifully designed white and black spacesuit when they boarded the sleek capsule known as the crew dragon, the first time a space company owned by a private individual had accomplished such a feat.

The astronauts' suits, which were noticeably different from the orange suits we're used to, came as no surprise to anyone, as the spacex space suits, as they're known, have been in design and development for years.

The new SpaceX spacesuits design have reawakened public interest in space exploration, which has long been a dream of co-designer and chief financier Elon Musk. But why has the SpaceX space suits piqued people's interest? What is the purpose of space suits for astronauts? Consider the various types of spacesuits and their functions to gain a better understanding of this.

Astronauts wear one of three types of spacesuits, depending on the mission they are embarking on. The first is the iva, or intra vehicular activity, which is only worn when the astronauts are inside the capsule. Only the launch and entry phases of a space mission require the use of iva spacesuits.

The extravehicular activity spacesuit iva, which is worn outside the capsule, and the intra extravehicular activity spacesuit iva, which can be worn both inside and outside the capsules, are the next two options. The big question now is why are spacesuits so important.

The most obvious reason for the importance of spacesuits is, without a doubt, safety. There are dangerous gases, radiation, and temperatures in outer space. Spacesuits are created to replicate the ideal conditions required for the human species to thrive.

Without space suits, astronauts would die from a lack of oxygen seconds after exiting the space shuttle or the Earth's atmosphere, and the fluids in their bodies, including their blood, would boil or freeze due to insufficient air pressure.

Boiling bodily fluids could cause the skin and other vital organs to expand, resulting in death. Spacesuits are also strong enough to protect astronauts from being hurt or killed in space by micrometeoroids and other flying debris. Outside of the earth's atmosphere, there are also extreme temperatures.

SpaceX new high tech space suits

Have you ever wished to travel to outer space? Probably you want to visit mars or let’s say the moon! Then you will need spacesuits to comfortably explore these parts of the universe. Spacesuits are not just regular clothes or uniforms, they are much more than a set of clothes astronauts wear. However, just like we have different clothes for different occasions, there are different spacesuits for different purposes. When it comes to space exploration, we consider two different kinds of space suits, both of these suits serve as a protective covering for astronauts, to save them from dangers associated with their mission. But before we continue please do well to like this video and subscribe to this channel so you won’t miss out on our other interesting videos.
Now, one of the two spacesuits I mentioned earlier is worn inside a spacecraft while launching to space, and the other one is worn when astronauts are returning home from their mission as well as during landing. The first type worn during launch and while in outer space is specifically designed for spacewalks! Spacewalk is termed EVA by NASA meaning Extra-vehicular Activity and the suit is usually called an EVA suit! Spacesuits are usually shaped like the human body, this suit protects the astronaut from radiation, dust, debris, and extreme temperature condition. Depending on location, the temperature during spacewalk varies from as low as minus 250 degrees Fahrenheit to 250 degrees high. Therefore these spacesuits provide astronauts with proper temperature, pressure for the body and also supplies water for drinking and oxygen for breathing!

What Scientists JUST REVEALED About SpaceX Starship
    ???? Subscribe -

If all goes according to plan, SpaceX will launch the world's biggest rocket next month. The Starship rocket, which stands over 400 feet tall, is meant to transport NASA astronauts to the moon. Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, has greater plans for the company: he wants to utilize it to colonize Mars with humans.

The human spaceflight capabilities of Starship have already gotten a lot of attention. However, the rocket has the potential to transform our understanding of our surrounding planets and moons.

Starship is a massive spacecraft on top of a large rocket known as Super Heavy, which is being developed at a Texas facility known as Starbase. Both may re-enter the atmosphere and be reused, lowering the expenses. On regular low-cost trips, the complete spacecraft will be capable of carrying 100 metric tons (220,000 pounds) of freight and passengers into space. Starship has a volume of usable space of 1,000 cubic meters, which is large enough to house the whole Eiffel Tower, dismantled. Scientists are ecstatic about this.

  • NASA’s Ageing EMU Spacesuit & Problems With Future Plans

    7:29

A spacesuit is a necessary piece of technology when leaving the safety of the astronaut’s habitat or spacecraft environment. Here they are directly exposed to the harsh and deadly conditions of space. This features not only the lack of air, but high and low temperatures, radiation, and more. Once completed a spacesuit is practically a designated spacecraft for individual astronauts to perform various necessary tasks in.

For quite a while now NASA has been using spacesuits for a wide range of reasons. This could be to repair the Hubble Telescope, work on the International Space Station, and much more. However, the current EMU spacesuit is quite old is causing concerns for quality, convenience, and most importantly safety. This adds additional bad news to the delay of NASA’s upcoming xEMU spacesuits.

  • SpaceX Dragon docks at International Space Station

    1:38

(12 Nov 2021) A SpaceX capsule carrying four astronauts pulled up Thursday at the International Space Station, their new home until spring.
It took 21 hours for the flight from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center to the glittering outpost.
The one German and three U.S. astronauts said it was an emotional moment when they first spotted the space station 20 miles (30 kilometers) distant — “a pretty glorious sight,” according to Raja Chari, commander of the Dragon capsule.
“Floating in space and shining like a diamond, noted German astronaut Matthias Maurer. “We're all very thrilled, very excited.”
The Dragon's entire flight was automated, with Chari and pilot Tom Marshburn monitoring the capsule systems, ready to take control if necessary. At one point, they reported what looked like a “gnarled knob” or possibly a small mechanical nut floating past their camera's field of view, but SpaceX Mission Control said it posed no concern. The docking occurred 263 miles (423 kilometers) above the eastern Caribbean.
The station’s welcoming committee consisted of three astronauts instead of the originally planned seven. That’s because SpaceX returned four of the station residents on Monday, after the new arrivals' launch kept getting delayed.
While Chari, Marshburn, Maurer and NASA astronaut Kayla Barron were adapting to weightlessness — all but Marshburn are space rookies — the previous crew was adjusting to life back on Earth. “Gravity sucks, but getting used to it slowly,” Japanese astronaut Akihoki Hoshide tweeted.
The new crew will spend the next six months at the space station and, during that time, host two groups of visiting tourists. Russia will launch the first bunch in December and SpaceX the second in February.

  • Redwire Providing Navigation and Power Technology for NASA’s First Planetary Defense Mission

    2:18

Redwire, a leader in space infrastructure for the next generation space economy, is providing critical navigation components and roll-out solar array (ROSA) technology for NASA’s Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) mission, the world’s first planetary defense test mission. The mission is set to launch no earlier than November 23 at 10:20 p.m. PST from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

Redwire delivered two Roll-Out Solar Arrays (ROSA) for the DART program through a contract with Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). The two solar arrays, which each unfurl to 28 feet when fully deployed, will power the entire spacecraft. The arrays will feature Redwire’s Flexible Array Concentrator Technology (FACT) Solar Power Modules, which use high efficiency SolAero Inverted Metamorphic Module 4J Photovoltaic solar cells, as a Transformational Solar Array demonstration. Redwire also delivered a Digital Sun Sensor system consisting of five Digital Sun Sensor heads and one Digital Sun Sensor electronics processing unit, which will be used for attitude control and fail-safe recovery throughout the mission.

“Redwire is proud to partner with APL and NASA on this historic mission and it’s incredibly exciting to see our technology used to advance Earth’s planetary defense capabilities,” said Andrew Rush, President and COO of Redwire. “As a critical mission partner, we are leveraging our innovative, flight-proven technology to enable truly game-changing missions, like DART, that are expanding our understanding of the solar system and ushering in an exciting new era of exploration.”

DART will be the first demonstration of the kinetic impactor technique to change the motion of an asteroid in space. The DART spacecraft will travel millions of miles to a binary asteroid, Didymos, where it will crash into its moonlet to adjust its speed and trajectory. As humankind’s first planetary defense mission, DART will demonstrate critical technology that could one day be used to protect Earth from a dangerous asteroid or comet.

First demonstrated on the International Space Station (ISS) in 2017, Redwire‘s ROSA technology is compact, modular and scalable, making it ideal for use on various spaceflight platforms. In June 2021, two ROSA arrays were successfully installed and deployed on the ISS to provide a critical power boost, and four more arrays under contract with Boeing will be installed over the next two years. Redwire is also producing various modular versions of ROSA for many government and commercial spaceflight applications, including Maxar’s Power and Propulsion Element for NASA’s Gateway program and the Ovzon 3 GEO spacecraft for Maxar’s Legion-class satellites.

Redwire’s Digital Sun Sensor has a rich flight heritage and is valued for its accuracy, durability, and compact and lightweight design. Other missions and spacecraft the Digital Sun Sensors have supported include: Mars Pathfinder, Mars Exploration Rovers A and B, Mars Science Lander Curiosity, Mars 2020 Perseverance, IRIS, and Cassini-Huygens.

Building on decades of flight heritage combined with new space technology, Redwire’s advanced sensors and components are enabling unparalleled navigation and power generation capabilities, providing more flexibility and capability on-orbit with more processing power and smaller form factors.
