As early as Wednesday, May 5, the SpaceX team will attempt a high-altitude flight test of Starship serial number 15 (SN15) – our fifth high-altitude flight test of a Starship prototype from Starbase in Texas. SN15 has vehicle improvements across structures, avionics, and software. The engines will allow more speed and efficiency throughout production and flight: specifically, a newly enhanced avionics suite, updated propellant architecture in the aft skirt, and a new Raptor engine design and configuration.

Similar to previous high-altitude flight tests of Starship, SN15 will be powered through ascent by three Raptor engines, each shutting down in sequence before the vehicle reaching apogee – approximately 10 km in altitude. SN15 will perform a propellant transition to the internal header tanks, which hold landing propellant, before reorienting itself for reentry and controlled aerodynamic descent.

The Starship prototype will descend under active aerodynamic control, accomplished by independent movement of two forward and two aft flaps on the vehicle. All four flaps are actuated by an onboard flight computer to control Starship’s attitude during flight and enable precise landing at the intended location. SN15’s Raptor engines will then reignite as the vehicle attempts a landing flip maneuver immediately before touching down on the landing pad adjacent to the launch mount.

A controlled aerodynamic descent with body flaps and vertical landing capability, combined with in-space refilling, is critical to landing Starship at destinations across the solar system where prepared surfaces or runways do not exist and returning to Earth. This capability will enable a fully reusable transportation system designed to carry both crew and cargo on long-duration, interplanetary flights, help humanity return to the Moon, and travel to Mars and beyond.

Starship SN15 Almost Completed Upgrade, Fixes, and Ready to Fly.
Hello everyone, Welcome to the latest SpaceX Starship updates video from SpaceX Fans.
Hope that you all Have a great day.
    The following is general information.
Starship SN15 patiently awaits a decision – The Road to Orbit.
Following its successful launch and landing, Starship SN15 has been placed back onto a launch mount for inspections and a potential re-flight. The upcoming test schedule will be focused on providing a green light for an orbital attempt that has already been filed with the Federal Communications Commission.
Starship SN15 Almost Completed Upgrade, Fixes, and Ready to Fly.
    -
Super Heavy will have a full set of Raptors; the number has likely changed since the 2019 Starship update when Super Heavy was to have 28 engines. The outer ring of engines will not have Thrust Vector Control while the inner ones will. Starship is set to utilize six Raptors, three sea-level and vacuum-optimized.
Starship SN15 Almost Completed Upgrade, Fixes, and Ready to Fly.

Hi guys, Welcome to the latest SpaceX starship updates video from Great SpaceX.
Hope that you all have a wonderful day!
And now it's time for the latest news about SpaceX.
We have the following main news today:
    1. Starship SN15 Test Flight Canceled on Monday, wait for test flight date.
    2. The next Starship SN16 got Fully Stacked in the Mid Bay.
    3. SpaceX Crew Dragon Safely Returns Crew-1 Astronauts With A Splashdown In The Gulf Of Mexico.
    ---------
NASA had not launched astronauts from American soil since the Space Shuttle was retired in 2011. Nearly a decade later SpaceX launched astronauts from the United States -igniting a new era in human spaceflight. In 2020 the aerospace company conducted the first operational mission, known as Crew-1, under the agency’s Commercial Crew Program that aims to make launching astronauts to space from American soil routine. The Crew-1 mission was a success thanks to SpaceX. Crew-1 NASA Astronauts Michael Hopkins, Victor Glover, Shannon Walker, and Soichi Noguchi of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) launched to the International Space Station (ISS) atop SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket aboard the Crew Dragon Resilience spacecraft in November 15, 2020 from historic Launch Complex-39A at the John F. Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. After a six-month-long stay at the Space Station, Crew-1 astronauts completed their mission with a safe return aboard Resilience this weekend.

FAA approved SpaceX to conduct flight tests with SN15, SN16 and SN17 in a decision. This has never happened before, to explain for this FAA said in a statement that it's approving these in a batch because “SpaceX is making few changes to the launch vehicle and relied on the FAA's approved methodology to calculate the risk to the public.

Hi guys, Welcome to the latest SpaceX starship updates video from Great SpaceX.
Hope that you all have a wonderful day!
We have two main parts today.
We go straight to the first news today.
Update Starship SN15 launch this week, SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket Will Liftoff A Ninth Time
    1. Update Starship SN15 lauch on Tuesday and Veteran SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket Will Liftoff A Ninth Time During Upcoming Starlink Mission.
    ----------
The Falcon 9 first-stage booster that will conduct the 26th Starlink mission is a fleet leader, identified as booster production number B1049-9; It previously flew on eight missions: the launch of Telstar 18 VANTAGE, Iridium-8, and six Starlink missions. “One half of Falcon 9’s fairing previously supported two Starlink missions,” SpaceX said. Engineers aim to push rocket reusability to the next level. Each Falcon 9 first-stage booster will be utilized at least 10 times. SpaceX founder Elon Musk said during a recent press conference that they could probably reuse the booster more than that –“We do intend to fly the Falcon 9 booster until we see some kind of a failure with the Starlink missions,” he said. Rocket reusability is important because it significantly reduces the cost of spaceflight. To date, SpaceX has recovered 81 orbital-class rocket boosters and reused 61. You can watch the Starlink mission in the video below 10-minutes before liftoff, courtesy of SpaceX.
    -------
In principle, the ability for companies to protest US government contracting decisions is a necessity and (nominally) a net good but it can easily be misused – and often in damaging ways. In the case of Blue Origin and Dynetics, it’s difficult not to perceive both protests as examples of the latter.

Starship SN15 is the first prototype of the second batch of fully stacked starship prototypes with major upgrades. SN15 would be the first starship of the Block 3 prototypes intended for reducing complexity and increasing reliability.

    Changes to SN15:
    - New thrust puck design: reduced complexity and weight as the three O2 inlets are combined to one central inlet for all three raptors (4 instead of 6 inlets)
    - Unclear, whether 3mm steel is being used for this generation; but likely not
    - more thermal protection system tiles to test them.
    - SN15 has better cable management than any previous prototype
    - The depress valves seem different
    - There is a new round white Starlink satellite at the top of the tank section, apparently for communication.
    - Furthermore, a new generation of Raptor engines should be installed.

SN15 - 17 represents iterative improvements to the vehicles to improve the design and serve as production pathfinders to aid the increasing production cadence. It has hundreds of design improvements across structures, avionics/software & engine.

  • Spacex Starship15 Test Flight - SN15 - My Reaction

    14:54

On May 5, 2021 - Spacex launched their suborbital test vehicle, Starship 15 (aka SN15). I was trying to watch the most popular live streams but I had workers at my house installing some windows. I had to get a kid too and back home from school. Had three work meetings, trying to help my son find documents for a job application and make dinner for the family. Sheesh, I need to be less busy.

SpaceX team will make the first attempt of a high-altitude suborbital flight test of Starship SN15 from SpaceX Launch site in Boca Chica, Texas. The schedule is dynamic and likely to change, as is the case with all development testing. This is the fourth high-altitude 10K flight of a SpaceX Starship prototype.

The SpaceX Starship system is a fully-reusable, two-stage-to-orbit, super heavy-lift launch vehicle under development by SpaceX since 2012, as a self-funded private spaceflight project.

  • SpaceX Starship SN15 soars through clouds, nails landing!

    9:21

As early as Wednesday, May 5, the SpaceX team will attempt a high-altitude flight test of Starship serial number 15 (SN15) – our fifth high-altitude flight test of a Starship prototype from Starbase in Texas. SN15 has vehicle improvements across structures, avionics and software, and the engines that will allow more speed and efficiency throughout production and flight: specifically, a new enhanced avionics suite, updated propellant architecture in the aft skirt, and a new Raptor engine design and configuration.

Similar to previous high-altitude flight tests of Starship, SN15 will be powered through ascent by three Raptor engines, each shutting down in sequence prior to the vehicle reaching apogee – approximately 10 km in altitude. SN15 will perform a propellant transition to the internal header tanks, which hold landing propellant, before reorienting itself for reentry and a controlled aerodynamic descent.

A controlled aerodynamic descent with body flaps and vertical landing capability, combined with in-space refilling, are critical to landing Starship at destinations across the solar system where prepared surfaces or runways do not exist, and returning to Earth. This capability will enable a fully reusable transportation system designed to carry both crew and cargo on long-duration, interplanetary flights and help humanity return to the Moon, and travel to Mars and beyond.

Given the dynamic schedule of development testing, stay tuned to our social media channels for updates as we move toward SpaceX’s fifth high-altitude flight test of Starship!

  • SpaceX Starship SN15 Launch and Landing Isla Blanca Park South Padre Island Texas Starbase SN 15

    8:04

This is my footage of SN15 launch and landing from Isla Blanca Park near the Amphitheater on South Padre Island. It's right at exactly 5 miles away from the launch and landing pads. The filming conditions were pretty terrible so this didn't turn out too amazing, but it's still pretty cool. There was a lot of fog, low clouds, high winds, and poor lighting. These conditions make it very difficult to film with such a high zoom camera. And it was my first launch ever filmed with this camera so there is some learning curve. The first part of the video is the real time launch and landing. The 2nd part is the launch and landing at 1/10 real time speed. Despite the terrible filming conditions, it was an extremely spectacular launch and landing. Go SpaceX!!

All video is filmed by me and is not available anywhere else. I am a one man band running the whole show. Please like and subscribe if you enjoy my footage. Please leave comments with any suggestions or thoughts. My goal is to record and preserve historical archive footage and share it with the world via the internet. I'm constantly learning and trying to improve my filming and photography skills. My content should be improving over time. Very important, exciting things are happening here! Stay tuned!

  • SpaceX Nails Starship SN15 Launch And Landing

    22:39

05.05.2021 After two other scrubbed launches the third was a charm. At 05:24 PM local time SpaceX Boca Chica, Texas successfully launched and landed their Starship SN15. After unfavorable weather conditions and minor hardware and software glitches the time finally came. SN15 roared to life with three raptors and soared through the low cloud ceiling which obscured most of the test activity. Luckily there was enough visibility to capture both the launch and the landing. During the ascent which was not visible you can see the tracking station doing its job as it follows the vehicle up to apogee and then back to the landing pad.

  • SpaceX Starship SN15 Lands Successfully! Whats Next For Starship

    5:07

SpaceX Starship SN15 successfully completed a high altitude (10km) flight test. Starship SN15 became the first Starship prototype to soft land after the 10km flight test. Previously Starship SN10 did land in a single piece, but, the landing velocity was very fast. And Starship SN11 just blew up mid-air.

The success of Starship SN15 gives SpaceX a green signal to go ahead for higher altitudes and even orbital flights. Next up, Starship SN16 is fully stacked and SN17 is also ready. Super Heavy Booster prototypes are also being manufacture for the orbital flight attempt in a few months from now!
