SpaceX first flight proven Starship SN15 heads back to launch pad for second round
Now SpaceX is on the way to Starship reusability!! SpaceX has moved their first fully fledged flight-proven Starship prototype SN15 back to the launch pad within a week after its flight test following successful landing. On 11th May, Tuesday, SN15 had moved for the second time after its successful 5th May test flight, thus within a little more than five days SpaceX was able to transport their steel prototype. SpaceX transported Starship SN15 using a custom transporter (a vehicle designed to secure landed Starships without using a crane), to “Suborbital Mount B”, which was a few hundred feet away from the landing zone. According to a report, “Mount A” which was used earlier by SN15 is going through refurbishment procedures.

Hi guys, Welcome to the latest SpaceX starship updates video from Great SpaceX.
Hope that you all have a wonderful day!
And now it's time for the latest news about SpaceX.
We have the following main news today:
    1. Starship SN15 Test Flight Canceled on Monday, wait for test flight date.
    2. The next Starship SN16 got Fully Stacked in the Mid Bay.
    3. SpaceX Crew Dragon Safely Returns Crew-1 Astronauts With A Splashdown In The Gulf Of Mexico.
    ---------
NASA had not launched astronauts from American soil since the Space Shuttle was retired in 2011. Nearly a decade later SpaceX launched astronauts from the United States -igniting a new era in human spaceflight. In 2020 the aerospace company conducted the first operational mission, known as Crew-1, under the agency’s Commercial Crew Program that aims to make launching astronauts to space from American soil routine. The Crew-1 mission was a success thanks to SpaceX. Crew-1 NASA Astronauts Michael Hopkins, Victor Glover, Shannon Walker, and Soichi Noguchi of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) launched to the International Space Station (ISS) atop SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket aboard the Crew Dragon Resilience spacecraft in November 15, 2020 from historic Launch Complex-39A at the John F. Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. After a six-month-long stay at the Space Station, Crew-1 astronauts completed their mission with a safe return aboard Resilience this weekend.

FAA approved SpaceX to conduct flight tests with SN15, SN16 and SN17 in a decision. This has never happened before, to explain for this FAA said in a statement that it's approving these in a batch because “SpaceX is making few changes to the launch vehicle and relied on the FAA's approved methodology to calculate the risk to the public.

Hi guys, Welcome to the latest SpaceX Starship updates video from Great SpaceX.
Hope that you all have a great day!!!.
And now it’s time for the latest news about SpaceX. Let’s take a seat with a cup of coffee to enjoy this information.
In this video today we are going to discuss:
    1. SpaceX Transports Starship SN15 To The Launch Pad Ahead Of Flight Test.
    2. Detected that SN15 installed more TPS tiles ever seen and MYSTERIOUS NOSECONE GETS A BLACK TIP.
    3. SpaceX Plan to ‘Catch’ Starship’s Super Heavy Booster Is Mentioned In New FAA Filing.
    4. Neuralink Gives First Look At Monkey Playing Pong With Its Mind
OK let’s jump into the first news.

SpaceX transported Starship SN15 from the assembly site to the launch pad at Boca Chica Beach, Texas. The 50-meter-tall stainless-steel vehicle is the next prototype that will perform a high-altitude flight test. Just nine days ago, SpaceX launched the SN11 prototype 10-kilometers above the sandy beach under dense fog, SN11’s flight test ended in an explosion. SpaceX founder Elon Musk opted to skip the production of SN12 through SN14 to move on to Starship SN15 which features “hundreds of design improvements across structures, avionics/software & engine,” he said, meant to address the issues previous prototypes faced.

    1. THE 7 BIGGEST CHANGES OF SN15.
    2. SpaceX speeds up work on new Starship with “hundreds” of upgrades.
Let’s go straight to the 7 BIGGEST CHANGES OF SN15:

    1. Landing legs.
This is a problem that has been repeated many times since SN8 to SN11.
Someone joked that the SN11 is fortunate to not have to land with its feet because it exploded in the air to address the serious problem of the landing leg.
The SN15 landing legs have been relocated out of Boca Chica, and it is hoped that SpaceX will launch new landing equipment soon.

    2. Raptor engine

SN10 Raptor engine: Elon Musk tweeted the cause of SN10 exploded because the engines low on thrust due (probably) to partial helium ingestion from fuel header tank. Impact of 10m/s crushed legs & part of skirt.
SN11 get problem about the Raptor engines too, Musk tweeted “ Looks like engine 2 had issues on ascent & didn’t reach operating chamber pressure during landing burn, but, in theory, it wasn’t needed.
The 7 biggest changes on SN15 are mentioned by Elon Musk.

Hi guys, Welcome to the latest SpaceX Starship updates video from Great SpaceX.
Hope that you all have a great day!!!.
And now it’s time for the latest news about SpaceX.

As the title of video, today we will discuss about “ the diffence between SN20 and other previous phase of starship”
Let's take a cup of coffee and enjoy this video.
    All right let’s start.
Beginning almost immediately after Starship SN11’s midair explosion last week. Undeterred, the loss of SN11 has not impacted the plan to push on to SN15’s test series. SpaceX has accelerated work on a new Starship prototype upgraded with “hundreds of improvements.”
In November 2020, Musk first revealed plans to implement “major Starship upgrades” as early as prototype SN15, though the improvements involved in the first apparent Starship ‘block’ change were never detailed. On 30 March 2021, the same day as Starship SN11’s foggy, ill-fated launch debut, Musk confirmed that the SN15+ block upgrade would feature “hundreds of design improvements to structures, avionics, software, and Raptor engines.

  • SpaceX construction progress summary from April 26 to May 2 2021 South Texas launch site, Boca Chica

    4:14

On the SpaceX construction sites of the starbase in Boca Chica TX they are working hard and sometimes it's hard for me to keep an eye on everything and to document the construction progress with my 3D renders in a timely manner.
Today's summary of last week's construction progress includes all the renders that have been created. Launch tower, launch table, tank shells and the Max Q testrig.

Please understand that there is not so much text in the video about the individual projects and construction phases.
But you can learn more in the video descriptions of the individual videos.

The playlist with the individual videos can be found here:

Of course there are always pauses on the construction sites of the launch site, because in between starship tests are carried out.
Also this week there will be another launch test. Sn15 is ready and will make its first test flight on Tuesday or Wednesday. I keep my fingers crossed!

If you want to know more about the happenings on the starbase in Boca Chica, you should have a look here.

SPACEX Baufortschritt zusammenfassung vom 26.

  • Starship SN15: Ready For Launch | Perfect Static Fire

    5:56

Spacex conducted a pre-launch Static Fire test for Starship SN15 and SN15 is ready to launch anytime this week.
Spacex conducted a pre-launch Static Fire test for Starship SN15 . The upgraded Starship prototype serial number 15 – outfitted with “hundreds of improvements” – fired up its three Raptor engines for a few seconds, while the craft remained anchored to the ground at SpaceX's South Texas site- at around 5pm CDT on Monday, April 26th. The test was one of the smoothest static fire test so far. the rocket’s engines seemed to perform nominally and SpaceX ultimately closed out the evening’s testing a few hours early. The sound of the exhaust sounded a little different .
Around the same time as SN15’s first static fire attempt was wrapping up, SpaceX distributed safety notices to Boca Chica Village residents, indicating that a second static fire test may be planned on Tuesday. Musk didn’t mention plans for a second static fire, but he tweeted:
“Starship SN15 static fire completed, preparing for flight later this week”

So SN15 won't remain ground-bound for long. Today's static fire was a key checkout ahead of a high-altitude test flight, which will take the vehicle about 6.2 miles (10 kilometers) into the Texas skies soon — very likely to be sometime later this week., within Friday 30th April.

Like all the previous four other “high-altitude” flight tests before it, Starship SN15 will be doing a similar ~10-12 kilometer hop-test and it will attempt to perform a complete ascent, controlled bellyflop, landing flip maneuver, and soft touchdown.
After the SN11 explosion, work on the Starship SN15 was intensified in an apparent attempt to meet Musk's stated deadline of a few days to roll the rocket to the launch pad.
Not long after on April 8, Starship prototype SN15 was moved to the launch site.
On March 30, 2021, the same day as Starship SN11's foggy, ill-fated launch debut, Musk announced that the SN15 will include “hundreds of design improvements across structures, avionics/software & engine”.
As of April 26th and in spite of one or two weeks of delays, the fact that Starship SN15 managed to complete a three-Raptor static fire test on its first true attempt is a great sign that the rocket’s many “hundreds of improvements”- as told by elon, may already be paying dividends.

SN15 broke several insulation tiles during the static fire test

Hi, welcome to the 27th and 28th updates April 2021, the newsletter will have the following main new:
    1. SN 15 suffered a few broken tiles during the static fire test
    2. China state rocket company unveils rendering of a Starship look-alike
Yesterday, SN 15 went through the second successful static fire test, normally we will see SpaceX workers disassemble the engine or replace, assemble the engine or repair them after the fire test. However, this time we have not seen any dynamic replacement SpaceX, which proves that these three engines have been very well improved in terms of technical and quality. Thanks to LaPadre for shooting the 2nd static fire SN 15. After this 2nd static fire test some of the SN 15 insulating bricks were broken, possibly because the vibrations of the motors were improved. This brick may not withstand the vibrations of the motors in this test.
After four successful test flights of SpaceX next-generation Starship prototypes all ended in dramatic explosions during the landing phase, Elon Musk space company is skipping ahead to SN 15, a new version of its interplanetary rocket.

  • SpaceX SN15 SECOND LAUNCH? and Construction Progress Launch Site, Boca Chica TX. Update May 12. 2021

    51

Elon Musk said after the successful test of the SpaceX Starship SN15 that he might let it fly again.
Now SN15 is on Test Pad B and I am curious if we will see a second test flight.
The launch tower stacking will have to wait because the Liebherr 11350 crane still has to be assembled.
A lot of welding is done at the launch table and the welders are protected from the wind with tarpaulins. We have to wait until we can see new details of the launch table.
The Max Q rig was brought back to the construction site yesterday.

SN15 lift to cryo test again, SN17 and Mystery Nosecone update

    Today we have:
    1. SN17 and Mystery Nosecone update
    2. When will SpaceX launch the SN 15 again?.
Mystery Nosecone was rolling, Starship Gazer took some pictures in time.
He also discovered that the SN 17 insulation shield was peeling off, for unknown reasons, although the SN 17 has not been fully stacked, it has not burnt yet, SpaceX needs to fix the problems immediately. this issue to avoid future losses.
SPACEX may try to launch and land the Starship SN 15 for a second time this month in a bid to prove its successful flight last week was not a fluke. But when will the Starship SN 15 launch?

  • SpaceX Starship SN15 High-Altitude Flight Test SUCCESSFUL | 4K

    16:06

As early as Wednesday, May 5, the SpaceX team will attempt a high-altitude flight test of Starship serial number 15 (SN15) – our fifth high-altitude flight test of a Starship prototype from Starbase in Texas. SN15 has vehicle improvements across structures, avionics and software, and the engines that will allow more speed and efficiency throughout production and flight: specifically, a new enhanced avionics suite, updated propellant architecture in the aft skirt, and a new Raptor engine design and configuration.

Similar to previous high-altitude flight tests of Starship, SN15 will be powered through ascent by three Raptor engines, each shutting down in sequence prior to the vehicle reaching apogee – approximately 10 km in altitude. SN15 will perform a propellant transition to the internal header tanks, which hold landing propellant, before reorienting itself for reentry and a controlled aerodynamic descent.

The Starship prototype will descend under active aerodynamic control, accomplished by independent movement of two forward and two aft flaps on the vehicle. All four flaps are actuated by an onboard flight computer to control Starship’s attitude during flight and enable precise landing at the intended location. SN15’s Raptor engines will then reignite as the vehicle attempts a landing flip maneuver immediately before touching down on the landing pad adjacent to the launch mount.

A controlled aerodynamic descent with body flaps and vertical landing capability, combined with in-space refilling, are critical to landing Starship at destinations across the solar system where prepared surfaces or runways do not exist, and returning to Earth. This capability will enable a fully reusable transportation system designed to carry both crew and cargo on long-duration, interplanetary flights and help humanity return to the Moon, and travel to Mars and beyond.

Given the dynamic schedule of development testing, stay tuned to our social media channels for updates as we move toward SpaceX’s fifth high-altitude flight test of Starship!

SN15 deformed landing legs, How soon could SN 16 launch

After landing, some of the SN15's legs were crushed, in particular, partially deformed because the grounding force is still stronger than the original shear resistance of the grounding element. Fortunately, the SN15 is still safe to land, which is something SpaceX has foreseen and improved to get the best results and apply it to subsequent launches.
Elon Musk responded to 1 post on Twitter's TESLARATI says: Might try to refly SN 15 soon.
Maybe we will see SN 15 fly again, it's not clear when but we will get an official release date for SN 15 soon.
Score one for SpaceX. Following protests from its competitors over a NASA Moon contract, Elon Musk's company responded in the best way it knows how – by launching and landing another rocket.
