  • Apple WWDC 2010 - iPhone 4 Introduction

Introduced in June 2010, the iPhone 4 replaced the iPhone 3GS, and included the same Apple-designed A4 processor found in the iPad. External improvements included a slimmer, redesigned case, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, a VGA-quality front-facing camera, and a stunning new 960x640 LED-backlit display.

  • Apple WWDC 2008 - iPhone 3G Introduction

Released in June 2008, the iPhone 3G had been widely anticipated for nearly the entire lifespan of its predecessor, the wildly successful iPhone. The iPhone 3G included two prominent features that had been distinctly absent from the original iPhone—3G networking and built-in GPS. These features came at a price, however: the iPhone 3G was slightly thicker than the iPhone, and had reduced battery life when using 3G networking. To mitigate the increased depth, the iPhone 3G featured a curved back, making it thinner on the edges. The iPhone 3G included a non-recessed headphone jack, to the joy of many iPhone customers with 3rd-party headphones.

  • Steve Jobs Introduces the iPhone to the World 2007

Development of what was to become the iPhone began in 2004, when Apple started to gather a team of 1000 employees to work on the highly confidential Project Purple, including Jonathan Ive, the designer behind the iMac and iPod. Apple CEO Steve Jobs steered the original focus away from a tablet, like the iPad, and towards a phone. Apple created the device during a secretive collaboration with AT&T Mobility—Cingular Wireless at the time—at an estimated development cost of US$150 million over thirty months.

Apple rejected the design by committee approach that had yielded the Motorola ROKR E1, a largely unsuccessful collaboration with Motorola. Instead, Cingular gave Apple the liberty to develop the iPhone's hardware and software in-house and even paid Apple a fraction of its monthly service revenue (until the iPhone 3G), in exchange for four years of exclusive US sales, until 2011.

Jobs unveiled the iPhone to the public on January 9, 2007, at the Macworld 2007 convention at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The two initial models, a 4 GB model priced at US$499 and an 8 GB model at US$599 (both requiring a 2-year contract), went on sale in the United States on June 29, 2007, at 6:00 pm local time, while hundreds of customers lined up outside the stores nationwide. The passionate reaction to the launch of the iPhone resulted in sections of the media dubbing it the 'Jesus phone'. Following this successful release in the US, the first generation iPhone was made available in the UK, France, and Germany in November 2007, and Ireland and Austria in the spring of 2008.

The best keynote of Steve Jobs: Introduction of the iPhone 2007

“This is a day I have been looking forward too for 2,5 years”

Steve Jobs was the heart of Apple. Under his supervision products where born like the Mac and the iPad. He had a very divers life and was often not the easiest man to work with.

But his vision was great. He had an idea on how people should use products and embed them in there lives. Day after day. And you can find that in many great products from Apple. They blend in your life. You use them as you would use your fork and knife. It feels natural.

In January 2007 Steve Jobs introduced a new product. In a great keynote he introduced a product that would become a serious game changer. On that day Steve Jobs introduced a new phone. And he called it: iPhone. That day a big part of the world witnessed how one man spoke the legendary words: Today Apple reinvents the phone. And he was right.

Even if you are an Apple hater you must agree that Apple changed the way we use mobile phones. The introduction of the iPhone was the beginning of a whole new era. And today millions of people pickup there iPhone to do so much things we couldn’t dream of 10 years ago. Touching the screen with your finger was like magic. And in a very short time it became an ordinary natural thing to do. And that is what Steve Jobs wanted with the iPhone. A natural device that blends in your life. And that’s what he got.

The keynote with the introduction of the iPhone made the tech world quiver. Many companies followed and many smartphones have seen daylight.

Many new versions of the iPhone appeared. But still it’s unique in its look and feel. We hope the iPhone stays that way for a very long time.

This video shows that great moment that a man is standing on a stage and changed the world. He talked and we where listening. We should never forget that. This keynote will be in our thoughts forever.

There were dozens of incredible product introductions by Steve Jobs while he was CEO of Apple. Like pulling the iPod nano out of his jeans coin pocket, or sliding the MacBook Air out of a manila envelope. But perhaps the most iconic product keynote he ever delivered was for the original iPhone back in 2007. Not only did the presentation feature an incredible narrative and setup for the iPhone’s reveal, but it was a logistical nightmare to pull off. And some people who worked on the introduction didn’t think it could be done successfully at all. So in this video we’re going to take a peak behind the curtain and investigate the drama behind the original iPhones launch, and find out why it’s considered by many to be one of the greatest product introductions of all time.

  • Steve Jobs Unveils First iPhone - 2007 | Today in History | 9 Jan 17

On January 9, 2007, Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone.

Apple Computer CEO Steve Jobs on Tuesday made the company's long-awaited jump into the mobile phone business and renamed the company to just Apple Inc, reflecting its increasing focus on consumer electronics.
The iPhone, which starts at $499 US dollars, is controlled by touch, plays music, surfs the Internet and runs the Macintosh computer operating system.
Jobs said it will reinvent the telecommunications sector and leapfrog past the current generation of hard-to-use smart phones.
Every once in a while a revolutionary product comes along that changes everything, he said during his keynote address at the annual Macworld Conference and Exposition.
During his speech, Jobs also unveiled a TV set-top box that allows people to send video from their computers and announced the number of songs sold on its iTunes Music Store has topped 2 billion.
Apple shares jumped more than 6 percent on the announcements, while the stock of rival smart-phone makers dipped lower.
IPhone uses a patented touch-screen technology Apple is calling multi-touch.

  • Apple Special Event 2010 - iPad Introduction

iPad may have been the most widely anticipated Apple device ever. Steve Jobs famously killed the Newton in 1998, as one of his first acts as interim CEO, and had killed several internal Apple tablet projects over the years. Rumors of a new Apple tablet device persisted much of the next decade. Speculation only increased with the 2007 release of the iPhone, which profoundly demonstrated the capabilities of a touch-screen only device.

The years of speculation ended in January 2010, when Apple announced the iPad. Based around a 9.7-inch LED-backlit multi-touch display, the iPad, finally, was more or less what the Rumor-mill had predicted: a giant iPhone. It used a new version of the same iPhone OS that the then-current iPhone 3GS and iPod touch (Late 2009) used, and could run nearly all existing third-party iPhone applications.

So, a lot of high technology. I think we’re advancing the state of the art in every aspect of this design. So iPhone is like having your life in your pocket. It’s the ultimate digital device.
So what should we price it at? Well, what do these things normally cost? An iPod, the most popular iPod, $199 for 4 gig nano. What’s a smart phone cost? Well, they say you get the phone and some of the Internet with it, although that’s questionable. But they cost somewhere around $299. You can get them for $199. Palm just introduced one at $399 yesterday, so they generally average about $299 with a two-year contract. Now, these phones sort of do music but nobody uses them for music because they’re not very good and so they end up buying an iPod to go with the phone. We know, we sell the iPod. And so people spend $499 on this combination. What should we charge for iPhone. Cause iPod has got a lot more than this stuff. It’s got video. Real video. It’s got this beautiful gorgeous wide screen. It’s got multi-touch user interface. It’s got wi-fi. It’s got a real browser. It’s got html e-mail. It’s got coverflow and on and on. And this stuff would normally cost hundreds of dollars. So how much more than $499 should we price iPhone? Well, we thought long and hard about it, because iPhone just does so much stuff. So much better experience on call, on managing your contacts and visual voice mail. Random access voice mail for the first time. Texting and e-mail and real browser and Google Maps.

Tremendous iPod and cover flow and video. What should we price this thing at. Well, for a 4 gigabyte model, we’re going to price it at that same $499. No premium whatsoever. $499. And we’re going to have an 8 gigabyte model for just $599. So we’re going to price it starting at $499.
