Serengeti, preserved in the image of its creation. A strange change has swept across the vast beautiful plains. Heavy rain in the dry season, while the wet season grows shorter and drier. Harsh climate change has finally moved onto the deep meadows of the Serengeti...

There is only one rule in the plains, live or die. However, the wild animals are acting against their primal instincts to survive. Cheetahs, alone by nature, form packs and live together, while the lion, king of the savannah, abandons all pride, accepting dead meat after travelling hundreds of kilometers for prey.
A daily battle for survival in the Serengeti. Just as the migration of the wildebeests continues for tens of thousands of years, the wild animals will forever adapt to the changing environment. This fierce effort keeps the Serengeti alive, and makes it a true breathing heritage.

  • Wildlife Laws: Only the Fastest Will Survive | Free Documentary Nature

    50:01

In a land of dangers, plant-eating animals are always at risk, and never more so than at the time of their birth; out on the open they are vulnerable and there are few places to hide. But luckily some are born to run…
Out on the African plains life can get off to a shaky start. Millions of baby wildebeests, zebras and antelopes are born at the same time. All of them must struggle to their feet in minutes. They must master their legs and be ready to run with the herd. If they don't they will be picked off by predators like lions, cheetahs, or crocodiles.
Whatever their role in life, little ones will face one challenge after another, whether it's trying to keep up with the herd during migration, getting stuck in the mud during a drought, being separated from its mother, panicking in bad weather, or even coming face to face with a predator.
The point will come in every young animal's life when the skills it learned will be put to good use. One of the most powerful wake-up calls to the harsh reality of nature comes to a young wildebeest during its migration. A dramatic river crossing, where there are more than just fast currents and steep banks to deal with - a river teaming with crocodiles. One by one his herd mates are picked off by the great reptiles, but when his time comes he proves he was born to run!

This camera is situated at a secluded waterhole and is set on the hide. It is completely solar powered due to the remote location of the waterhole. There is a borehole which replenishes the waterhole giving much needed water to the animals that frequent this area.
This is a great camera for viewing the Big Five of Africa, lion, leopard, rhino (which we do not show), elephant and buffalo. Giraffe and a large variety of antelope, genets, squirrels, warthogs, Giant kingfisher as well as the woodlands kingfisher all converge at this key watering point.

The lion is one of the big cats in the Felidae family and a member of genus Panthera. It has been listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List since 1996, as populations in African range countries declined by about 43% since the early 1990s. Lion populations are untenable outside designated protected areas. Although the cause of the decline is not fully understood, habitat loss and conflicts with humans are the greatest causes of concern. The West African lion population is listed as Critically Endangered since 2016.

  • Greatest Big Cats - Most Deadly Apex Predators on Earth

    18:32

    Greatest Big Cats

What are the most powerful big cats?

    Tiger
Tigers are more aggressive faster and stronger than Lions pound for pound they have better coordination and fighting skills there are plenty of videos that prove this. Most people that are bias in favor of the lion don't take the time out to observe these facts. I am by no means trying to diminish the King of the Jungle title from lions although most lions live in Savannah grasslands and a more appropriate title would be King of the African Savannah's where they live in prides and may be considered superior in that region (since there are no tigers there) but when it comes down to the nitty gritty. The Siberian tiger reigns supreme as Emperor of the big cats

    Lion
Full grown male lions at the shoulder are about 4 feet in height way bigger than your average tiger. Also male lions are born to fight the lionesses in the pride do the hunting the males job is to protect the pride. Which means they are literally born to fight its what they are built for. Not hunting not stalking just fighting. And if this top ten list is talking about the greatest big cat in the fighting department the lion would win every time.

    Jaguar
Jaguar have the strongest bite of any cat period they are faster then lions and tigers and the are the best swimmers. Unlike lions who sleep and roll around for 90% of their entire lives jaguars are more active and are spending their time hunting cooler prey. Crocodiles and anacondas scare lions but they don't stand a against the fearsome Jaguar. Tigers are endangered which is a shame for a predator with such a cool design but that just proves jaguars are superior and can go the distance. Also Jaguars may not be faster then cheetahs but your silly little cheetah would get curve stomped by a Jaguar. Also this is 100% subjective but I think their pattern is the coolest but that is just my opinion. I hope you people see it my way.

    Leopard
The leopard is one of the five big cats in the genus Panthera. It is one of the most adaptable and the most widespread big cat; it's secrets being:well camouflaged fur; its opportunistic hunting behaviour broad diet and strength to move heavy carcasses into trees; its ability to adapt to various habitats ranging from rain-forest to steppe and including arid and mountainous areas; and to run at speeds up to 58 kilometres per hour (36 mph).

    Cheetah
The cheetah also known as the hunting leopard is a big cat that occurs mainly in eastern and southern Africa and a few parts of Iran. The cheetah is the fastest land animal able to run up to 75 mph and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds

    Snow Leopard
The snow leopard is a large cat native to the mountain ranges of Central and South Asia. The name Snow Leopard is due to its white fur and the black spots dotted over it.

Different big cats have different specialties . First the major big cats are - Tiger LionLeopard jaguar puma cheetah. Of these Tiger(Siberian subspecies) is the largest.African male lions are marginally smaller(while comparing skeleton structure as Siberian tigers can be quite bigger than African male lion as that tiger usually has lubber/fur to protect itself from freezing temperatures ).Lion lives in a pride so has the strength and support of other members of the pride. Both jaguar and leopard are much smaller than lion or tiger. Jaguar is the biggest cat naturally found in the western hemisphere. After jaguar comes the puma or cougar.then you have Leopards which are masters of stealth and are very adaptable(have a very wide range of prey too). Then there is snow leopard of Asia. Then comes Cheetah the speed cat.I think this covers the major big cats. So in terms of size+strength it will be like TigerLionJaguarPumaleopardsnow-leopardcheetah. Out of these the puma and snow leopard mostly live on mountainous terrain (including cliffs). Tiger/Leopard live in bust land to forest to plains.Lion and cheetah mostly in bush land and plains.Jaguar lives in the dense rain forests of central and south America. In case of a one on one ale African Lion or a Siberian tiger will be the final winner. For sure cheetah will lose out as it is the weakest among these and is without retractable claws.

  • Unbelievable! How to Feed Big Cats with Live Animals in Zoo - SHOCKING Moments

    3:14

zoos always seek to attract more visitors by setting up new offers, and add more activities that visitors can do for money. In some gardens, the public is allowed to feed predators directly for a sum of money, as the visitor buys live animals such as cows, goats, and rabbits, and feeds them to lions and tigers.
Do you think that such shows should be banned in zoos or this is very natural occurring daily in the wild and there is no need to deprive the public of these scenes? - Share your opinion in the comments.

The jungle screams of survival by any means. In fact, the underdogs are taking revenge on the captors that have held them down for way too long. The battle is fierce, and there are no rules!
Stay tuned as I take you through the 15 extreme wild animal fights.

    15. Alligator vs. Python

The muddy waters of the Florida swamp have experienced a fair share of blood baths, even from unexpected places. It didn't expect a fight as bewildering as this one. In this clip, we see a territorial Python take on a beady-eyed alligator with one flick of his tongue. If only these creatures had the opportunity to speak, we would have known what was going through their minds as they took each other on. Who provoked who? Did they bear this grudge for so long and wanted to settle it once and for all? Whatever is the case, we give our verdict on the combat. The alligator seemed to control the fight initially, but he dashed off after he was sure he would be overpowered. He probably went home to think about a perfect comeback.

    14. Mongoose vs. Cobra

So, this venomous cobra was having her time with a prey it just caught when this Mongoose tried to play the role of an angel. It thought to rescue the animal in danger, but the cobra didn't find the nerve funny. It leaves me wondering how compassionate animals are that they can go to any length to protect the weak. Just so you know, Mongoose prey on snakes, especially cobras but in this scenario, something different played out. The animal you thought would win lost, but the Mongoose would certainly live to fight another day. It was heartwarming for the squirrel to watch and see how her lover defended her. The next time there's a clash, it is easy to guess who the next winner will be.

    13. Baboon vs. Crocodile

No mother would sit and watch her baby in danger and do nothing. They even go as far as risking their lives for the safety of their children. Animals do it even better. In this fight, a baboon tries to rescue her baby from a bloodthirsty crocodile. These sea creatures are unapologetic when it comes to hunting their prey. It got the wrong one this time. The baboon quickly dashed off to save her child, and guess what? She won over the crocodile, but it wasn't a smooth victory. She lost her baby in the battle. The watering hole became filled with blood-soaked tears and regrets.

    12. Cat vs. Cat

Who would have thought that outfoxing cats were for the birds? This clip shows how a clever crow managed to pull a fast one on two feline creatures. It convinced them not to eat him but fight each other instead. Who does that? Only the bird, of course. Anyone who has been roped into a fight or argument with a friend can relate to this one. One random stranger tells you lies about your friend and does the same to the other party. The next time there's a meeting, the information leads into an argument or a fight, and the person watches from a distance. Well, the crow is the crowd-pleaser here, and you don't need to purchase tickets to watch how everything panned out because it happened right at the rooftop.

    11. Sloth vs. Eagle

After seeing this video, you'll probably have another perspective on the idea of moving like a sloth. We see a sloth moving like a boss, unlike what we thought of them. I hope they forgive us for having a faulty misconception of their style. As it moves past the harpy eagle, it knocks it out with ease. Such audacity! The eagle is as shocked when the assailant's claws brush against his chest, but he dares not protest for fear of repercussions. The next time you see this creature, give them space because they have proven that slow and steady remains the deadliest combination in the animal kingdom.

    10. Iguana Multiple snakes

This sounds like one of those popular ambushes during World War I. Why would dozens of snakes go after one seemingly innocent Iguana? Again, we can't hear these animals speak, so we don't know what had transpired to necessitate the rage. The high-speed police chase was targeted at a lonely Iguana who manages to escape in a swift twist. The camera angle and kung-fu kicks make it seem like the Iguana is even kicking his predators on their head as he scampers for safety. He knows he's no match for them; therefore, he runs for his life while doing what he can.

The tiger is the largest extant cat species and a member of the genus Panthera. It is most recognizable for its dark vertical stripes on orange-brown fur with a lighter underside. It is an apex predator, primarily preying on ungulates such as deer and wild boar. It is territorial and generally a solitary but social predator, requiring large contiguous areas of habitat, which support its requirements for prey and rearing of its offspring.

    43:11

Millions of these wildebeest join forces annually to participate in one huge migration - always with luscious grass in their sights. Roaring, snorting, bucking, continuously reproductive en route, they head west - across the Serengeti from Tanzania to Kenya and back. With a large variety of animals in their wake - friend and foe: zebra families that resemble pale flotsam in a dark ocean amidst the gnu herds; or lions, and hyaenas in hope of their next victims. Along their way, they encounter hippopotami and crocodiles - and all of them embroiled in the cycle of devour and be devoured. The filmmakers follow the artiodactyls, armed with their cameras and lay in wait on the so-called birthing meadow. There, in the world's largest maternity room, 250.000 calves will be born within the next three weeks. The journey from there to the pasture regions of Kenya is especially dangerous for young animals - and here the film also illustrates nature's harshness. And then there is the revenge of the gnus, something that Vita and Rolf Köster have become acquainted with. The two filmmakers gained unusual access to the world's most famous game reserve whilst shooting their film in search of the even-toed animals.

A FEROCIOUS battle between a hungry jaguar and a family of protective otters has been caught on camera. Wildlife photographer Alexander Ley, 27, was on hand to record the rare confrontation deep in the floodplains of the Pantanal, the largest tropical wetland on the planet. The giant otters decided to move into a new den - but little did they know, a jaguar was on the hunt right next to them. Jaguars possess the strongest jaws of all big cats, allowing them to kill their prey with a bite through the skull, ambushing with quick pounces. These opportunistic hunters would normally feast on caimans and capybaras, but it looked as though something different was on the menu this time round.

  • The Unsung Heroes of the Arctic - Ep. 3 | Wildlife: The Big Freeze

    10:47

Polar bears dominate the Arctic animal headlines; it’s hard for anything to escape their shadow. In this episode we meet an unexpected array of smaller species that each have their own peculiar but no less entertaining strategies for surviving in this brutal environment. The tiny arctic fox might look cute, but it’s actually a killing machine. The arctic hare may be fluffy and have comical ears, but it’s both a master of camouflage and one of the fastest animals here. The snowy owl has sacrificed speed for a mightier secret weapon: silence. We find a lemming (a tiny brown rodent) running around in a blizzard, a big mistake when silent assassins are flying overhead. Although these unsung heroes are some of the few who’ve perfectly adapted to this place, the environment is changing fast. Warming temperatures are allowing enemies to move north, encroaching on these Arctic specialists.

  • Do This If You Are Attacked By a Lion

    9:04

Whatever you need a website for, create yours today with Wix:

What do you have to do when you are in a situation and you are being attacked by an animal?

    Lion attack 1:07
Therefore, a lion, while still dangerous, will rarely ever actually attack a human. Instead it will charge at you once or twice in what are known as 'mock charges'. These are meant to test your nerve; if you run, it will signal to the lion that you are weak and would make a good snack. Your best bet is to maintain eye contact with the charging lion and never break it, slowly backing away and responding to the mock charges by spreading your arms and shouting, making yourself appear bigger and signaling that you are not afraid and ready for a fight. More than likely, the lion will break off the attack and try to find something easier to munch on.

    Leopard attack 2:15
If you accidentally stumble across a leopard as it is feeding or is with its cubs you can expect the leopard to attack. In the event of a leopard attack, don't run or back away, instead hold your ground and make as much noise as possible, clapping your hands and shouting. More often than not, the leopard will decide you aren't worth the risk and will leave you alone.

    Elephant attack 2:44
Don't try to climb up a tree as elephants are very powerful and will tear most trees down, though sometimes hiding inside a hollow one or hiding behind it may be enough to discourage the elephant. As an absolute last option, play dead while protecting your head with a bag or other item, the elephant might lose interest, hopefully without stomping on you first.

    Wild dog attack 4:19
Dogs are man's best friend, except when they are wild or feral. Feral packs of dogs can be extremely dangerous, and can be found in a surprising variety of places, from the streets of Mumbai in India to Dallas, Texas. If faced with a pack, look for the smaller or less aggressive members to start fanning out around you while the alphas face you head-on. This signals that the pack is getting ready to attack as they will try to hit you from multiple angles at once. Your best bet at this point is to climb something tall, like an electrical box or the roof of a car. If you can't get away though, curl up into a ball and make your hands into fists to protect your fingers, then cover your face and neck with your arms. Not very likely to kill, the dogs will quickly lose interest and move away.

    Great White Shark Attack 5:15
asily the most feared animal in the world, yet the least likely to ever attack you. Once known as man-eaters, it is now known that sharks actually dislike humans as prey, and often attack only due to cases of mistaken identity; a thrashing swimmer or surfer on a board can often look like a seal from below the water. If you find yourself face to face with an attacking shark though, your best bet is to not thrash around, as you'll mimic injured and vulnerable prey. Instead, make your way to shore calmly and slowly, keeping eye contact with the shark at all times.

    African Cape Buffalo Attack 0:20
    Lion attack 1:07
    Leopard attack 2:15
    Elephant attack 2:44
    Hippopotamus attack (hippo attack) 3:39
    Wild dog attack 4:19
    Great White Shark Attack 5:15
    Crocodile attack 6:27
    Bear attack 7:17

    SUMMARY:
-if you are attacked by African cape buffalo, your best bet is to climb on a nearest tree.
-When it comes to lion attack, do not run, make eye contact and slowly back away.
-If there is a leopard attack, make sure you stand your ground and make s much noise as possible
    - In case of an elephant attack, play dead while covering your head
    - If there is a Hippo attack, run.
-If you are attacked by wild dogs, make sure you jump on top of a car!
-In case of great white shark attack, stay calm and slowly swim to the shore.
-If there is a crocodile attack, go for it's eyes.
-With a bear attack, stay calm and slowly walk away, but if an attack does come immediately, roll up into a ball with your stomach towards the earth and your hands protecting your neck.

  • Keeping big cats as pets, a growing trend in Pakistan

    3:52

In Pakistan, keeping lions or tigers at home is a growing trend, flouting rules and safety regulations. The wild animals are seen as a status symbol in the country. Politics and lions often go hand in hand, with politicians buying big cats to symbolise their power. But now, even ordinary citizens are latching onto the craze for keeping wild lions as pets, often putting the animals in cages. Our France 2 colleagues Nicolas Bertrand, Shahzaib Wahlah and Marie Fortunato report.

    8. Liger
It might sound like something out of a fantasy movie but ligers are real. A cross between a male lion and a female tiger, the liger is the result of man-made breeding but because lions are from Africa and tigers are from Asia, the liger is not something usually found in nature.

    7. Asiatic Lions
Lions are one of the most majestic animals in the world, but that doesn’t mean they are not at risk. The Asiatic lion is one such species whose numbers are dwindling. With only several hundred of the lions still surviving, the Asiatic lion, which is smaller than other lions, are only found in a very small area of the world.

    6. Barbary Lion
Barbary, or Atlas lions, were once known to roar through the deserts of northern Africa, often found from Morocco to Egypt. They were the largest of the lion subspecies, admired for their dark manes and known to have been once kept by royal families of Morocco and other northern Africa nations. You might know these lions best as ones that battled gladiators in ancient Roman Coliseum, as well as being displayed at many European zoos.

    5. Transvaal Lion
One of the more unique species of lions are the Transvaal lion. Named for the Transvaal region of Africa where they were found, this lion looks different than others on first sight.

    4. Ethiopian Lion
In a remote national park in Ethiopia, a species of lion believed to be extinct was rediscovered in 2016. Wildlife conservationists from Oxford University in England had heard stories from park staff and locals about lions living in the Alatash National Park in North West Ethiopia, near Sudan.

    3. Addis Ababa Lion
While you might think all lion species are related in some way, researchers recently discovered the Addis Ababa lion in Ethiopia is actually genetically different than other lion populations. Due to this finding, their hope is for stricter conservation actions to preserve the vulnerable species.

    2. White Lion
In March of 2018, wildlife guides at a game reserve in South Africa came upon a sight they never expected - a rare white lion cub in the wild. While watching a male lion sleeping near the Timbavati river, a field guide at the reserve named Lyle McCabe heard the call of a young cub coming from a nearby thicket.

    1. Cape Lion
The second largest and heaviest of lion subspecies, the Cape Lion weighed over 600 pounds and was 1.5 times larger than the average African lion. Distinguished by its thick black mane and gold fringe around its face, the big cat was known to grow up to 11 feet long and weight up to 500 pounds.

    4:13

Cecil is slowly showing signs of a born leader with his quiet confidence and his glaring stares. However, his father, a regal old lion, sees Cecil and his brothers as a threat to his dominance. He must take action to protect his kingdom and his females, even against his own sons. Their mother turns on them and it quickly turns into an aggressive family affair. The message is now clear - Cecil and his brothers must go elsewhere.

Cecil: The Legacy of a King tells the inspiring story of Hwange's lions, rumored to be some of the biggest wild lions on the planet. One magnificent beast was destined to become one of Africa's most famous animals. He was known as Cecil.
