What Elon did was very different. He didn’t just throw some play money in. He put in his heart, his soul and his mind.
Elon Musk founded SpaceX under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. The company was founded in 2002, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars. Musk envisions a future where humans live in a spacefaring civilization, frequent voyages from Earth to Mars and vice-versa.

  • SpaceX Falcon Heavy- Elon Musks Engineering Masterpiece

    4:27

Tens of thousands of spectators made the pilgrimage from across the country & 22 million people around the world on Youtube witnessed the thunderous roar of the SpaceX's new 23-story-tall jumbo rocket as it has blasted off on its first test flight, carrying Elon Musk’s red Tesla sports car aiming for an endless trip past Mars.
The Falcon Heavy rose from the same launch pad used by NASA nearly 50 years ago to send men to the Moon. With lift-off, the Heavy became the most powerful rocket in use today, doubling the lift-off punch of its closest competitor.
Within three minutes, the Falcon Heavy’s two side boosters separated from the central rocket in one of the most critical points of the flight. Some eight minutes after launch, a pair of sonic booms rocked the area as the two side boosters set down in near synchrony on two landing pads.
Flying atop the Falcon Heavy is SpaceX & Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s cherry-red Tesla Roadster, carrying a passenger—sort of. SpaceX revealed last weekend that a mannequin wearing the company’s new spacesuit would ride in the driver’s seat of the electric sports car ,nicknamed Starman.

  • SpaceX’s Vacuum Raptor engine test and Elon Musk explains Raptor’s new architecture

    8:45

SpaceX tested their Sea Level Raptor engine on September 25th (EET), 2020. Elon Musk explained Raptor’s new architecture on September 1 within Humans to Mars Conference organized by ExploreMars. Elon speaks on specifications of Sea Level Raptor and propellant capabilities. There are many interesting facts has been released by Elon. Technically SpaceX completed full duration test fire of Raptor Vacuum engine right at SpaceX’s development facility in McGregor, Texas. Engine was quite stable and ready for upcoming installation on Starship SN8 prototype to make 60,000 ft high-altitude flight. I’ve presented some visusal components and renders to indicate what Elon Musk said.

SpaceX Insane Raptor engines power the Starship that Musk is taking to Mars. What makes them so good, and why are they called the King of rocket engines?
This is a sneak peek into the Insane Engineering of SpaceX's Raptor Engine!
The Starship is nothing without its Raptor engines. They produce the thrust to help the Starship escape the earth's gravitational pull and propel it on its interplanetary journeys.
The thrust they produce has to be enormous, as the Starship is meant to lift heavy payloads of up to 100 tons. This is important if Musk's dream of planting people on Mars is to materialize. All the stuff necessary for life will be transported to the planet by the Starship.
SpaceX is not short of powerful rockets. Part of its roster of spacecraft is the Falcon 9, which is partially reusable. It is capable of blasting payloads up to 22,800 kg to low earth orbit. Falcon 9 is powered by the Merlin engine, developed in-house by SpaceX. It uses oxygen and rocket-grade kerosene as the propellant and can produce 854 kilonewton of thrust at sea level and 981 kilonewton in a vacuum.
However, the Starship needed something more powerful, and SpaceX decided to build a new engine, naming it the Raptor. With the design, SpaceX is introducing lots of insane concepts that few rocket companies have tried.
The result is a beast masquerading as a rocket engine. Each Raptor engine weighs about 1.5 tonnes and will supply 11 million horsepower to the Starship, the equivalent of four Hoover Dams!
By comparison, the Bugatti Veyron, one of the most powerful sports cars ever made, has an engine that weighs one-third but cannot produce more than 1,200 horsepower.
The exhaust of the Raptor engine is expelled at over ten times the speed of sound. If that is not crazy enough for you, the fuel in the chamber burns at temperatures high enough to melt the chamber's walls!
If you wonder why the wall does not melt, that's because of the clever way the flame is kept away from the walls by manipulating the flow of the gas. Super cold fuel is also pumped through the walls as additional security.
    Design
The Raptor engine works like most rockets do, expelling gases fast enough to push the spacecraft forward. However, a lot of clever engineering makes the Raptor a mighty rocket.
The engines depart in their design from standard fare for rockets,, as SpaceX opted for a full-flow staged combustion cycle. Inside, engine ignition is handled by dual-redundant spark-plug-lit torch igniters, which means there is no need for a dedicated, consumable igniter fluid, as found in the Merlin.
The Raptor combines methane and oxygen that is deeply cooled for propellant, near their freezing point: this way, the tank stores.
At such low temperatures, the propellant is denser, which increases the overall performance of the engine.
Methane is better fuel because of its higher performance and lower cost than kerosene or hydrogen-based propellants.
Methane is far easier to store than hydrogen as it requires less effort to keep it cool at cryogenic levels. It also weighs less than hydrogen, meaning more methane can be stored in the same tank.
Methane is better than kerosene as the latter forms residue during burning, known as coking, limiting the rocket's reusability.
The higher efficiency means with almost the same size as the Merlin engine, the Raptor engine produces far higher pressure and thrust.
There is simply no other rocket engine in existence capable of producing as much energy using liquid methane and oxygen as propellant.
The development of the Raptor engine is incredibly impressive. Especially when you consider that the CEO Elon Musk didn't study anything rocket science in school but taught himself everything by listening to experts. To keep improving on my videos, I took a class on Skillshare. Elon Musk: Who Is He?
Elon Musk is an American entrepreneur and businessman of South African descent who created X.com in 1999 (which eventually became PayPal), SpaceX in 2002, and Tesla Motors in 2003. When he sold his start-up company, Zip2, to a division of Compaq Computers in his late twenties, Musk became a multimillionaire.
Musk made news in May 2012 when he launched SpaceX, the first commercial vehicle to reach the International Space Station. With the purchase of SolarCity in 2016, he expanded his portfolio and solidified his position as an industry leader by serving as an adviser to President Donald Trump in the early days of his presidency.
    Early Years

Musk was born in Pretoria, South Africa, on June 28, 1971. Musk was so engrossed in his daydreams about inventions as a child that his parents and physicians demanded a hearing test. Musk became interested in computers around the time of his parents' divorce, when he was ten years old. He taught himself to programme and sold his first piece of software when he was 12 years old: Blaster, a game he invented.
Musk was short, quiet, and bookish in elementary school. He was bullied until he was 15, when he went through a growth spurt and learnt karate and wrestling to defend himself.

Hello friends, Elon Musk who didn't even know the 'S' of Space, who earned a degree in physics and economy, how did he spend 74 billion dollars for Space Exploration by creating Space X? The only private space agency to be so successful and to be able to compete with top government agencies of the USA, Russia, and China. Well, let me tell you... Elon Musk didn’t just throw some play money in. He put in his heart, his soul, and his mind into Space X. Musk envisions a future where humans live in a spacefaring civilization, frequent voyages from Earth to Mars, and vice-versa. The company was founded in 2002, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars. But yes, there was also a time when Space X went near bankruptcy due to many failures in rocket launches and was about to lose a big deal with NASA. So how did Space X overcome that? And why is Space X today one of the most talked-about and one of the most successful private space agencies? Stay tuned to know how Elon Musk's master engineering piece Space X made its way to the top in our today's video.

  • How Much Money Elon Musk Spends On SpaceX Technology

    8:54

Welcome back, Richest fans! At the time of their creation back in 2002, SpaceX was venturing into a very new territory with the private sector getting into space. And now, the Elon Musk company is worth billions of dollars! None of this could have been possible without the incredible tech the team at SpaceX have developed. Today, we’re going to look at some of their biggest successes. We’ll explore what each piece does and the various costs of creating it. Plus, we’ll take a gander at the mountain of cash SpaceX have made for each of their technological marvels.

Now for the spoiler paragraph. If you like surprises, we suggest you stop reading and watch the video multiple times. We start off with the rocket that got their name in legend by being the first of its kind, the Falcon 1. We then have one of the most important aspects of their rockets, the Dragon capsule. Which is meant to keep the astronauts safe. We’ll then explore the Falcon 9 which has made over 100 launches since its creation. We have the autonomous spaceport drone ships which are named after the work of science-fiction writer Iain M. Banks. We have the heavy reusable launcher the Falcon Heavy which is really powerful! Next is the Starship which has ambitions to take civilians to the moon and mars. Then we have Starlink. A vast collection of communication satellites that can provide the world with high-speed internet. Finally, we’ll briefly explore NASA’s Space Shuttle Programme and the cost behind it.

  • Elon Musks Starship prototype makes a big impact - BBC News

    1:31

US entrepreneur Elon Musk has launched the latest prototype of his Starship vehicle from Texas.

Codenamed SN8, the uncrewed rocket lifted away from the Boca Chica R&D facility on what had been billed as a brief flight to 12.5km (41,000ft).

The 50m-tall vehicle crashed on touchdown but Mr Musk was delighted with how much the test outing achieved.

Before the flight, the tech billionaire had dampened expectations, warning his fans that some mishap was likely.

  • CEO Elon Musk to SpaceX employees: Starship rocket is now our top priority

    2:06

SpaceX is about a week past launching astronauts for the first time but CEO Elon Musk wants employees to focus on developing the company’s next-generation rocket, according to an email seen by CNBC. CNBC's Squawk Box crew discuss.

SpaceX launched astronauts for the first time barely a week ago but CEO Elon Musk does not want the company resting on its laurels.

Instead, Musk urged SpaceX employees to accelerate progress on its next-generation Starship rocket “dramatically and immediately,” writing Saturday in a company-wide email seen by CNBC.

“Please consider the top SpaceX priority (apart from anything that could reduce Dragon return risk) to be Starship,” Musk wrote in the email.

SpaceX did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment on Musk’s email.

His space company launched a pair of NASA astronauts on May 30, marking a historic first for SpaceX and a crucial step forward for the U.S. space program. A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and Crew Dragon capsule carried the astronauts to orbit and on to the International Space Station. That mission is ongoing, as Musk noted, with the spacecraft set to return the astronauts to Earth in the next couple months.

The Falcon 9 rocket that launched the astronauts is the mainstay of SpaceX’s business, with 85 missions over the past decade. But Starship represents the company’s aim to make obsolete even the cost-saving advances of its Falcon 9 fleet. Its Falcon 9 rockets are partially reusable, as the company often lands the large “booster” stage of the rocket and recovers the rocket’s nosecone. But Musk’s goal is to make Starship fully reusable — envisioning a rocket that is more akin to a commercial airplane, with short turnaround times between flights.

Musk last year unveiled the Starship prototype, built of stainless steel and dwarfing the company’s existing spacecraft. SpaceX is developing Starship with the goal of launching as many as 100 people at a time on missions to the moon and Mars.

So far, the company’s Starship development program in Boca Chica, Texas has suffered four dramatic setbacks. While SpaceX has made progress on each iteration, the most recent prototype exploded shortly after an engine test on May 29.

Why does Jeff Bezos consider Elon Musk and SpaceX his biggest enemy?

    ====
01:01 Why is Jeff Bezos's hatred aimed at Musk?
03:49 Why can't Blue Origin be as successful as SpaceX?
05:43 How did Blue Origin end up behind SpaceX?
08:58 What is the peak of Elon's SpaceX success that Bezos' Blue Origin can't have?
10:31 What is the main reason for Jeff Bezos’s current position with Elon Musk?
    ===
spond by pointing out that SpaceX had already achieved the feat three years earlier.
The feud between these two visionary entrepreneurs does not stop at the space domain. Elon Musk has repeatedly criticized Blue Origin’s hiring practices. In 2015, Elon Musk explained that Blue Origin had repeatedly tried to snatch talent from SpaceX by offering to double their salaries. A practice that Elon Musk found “unnecessary and rude.” In 2016, during an interview for the BBC, Elon Musk was asked about Jeff Bezos. He pretended not to understand the question by answering: “Jeff who?” Known for his outspokenness on Twitter, where he has approximately 60 million followers, Elon Musk has called Jeff Bezos a copycat several times. This was particularly the case when Amazon announced its plan to launch Internet transmission satellites, or when Amazon acquired the autonomous cab company Zoox.
Jeff Bezos also never misses an opportunity to attack SpaceX.
While Elon Musk keeps talking about colonizing Mars, Jeff Bezos frequently explains that his goal is to bring humans to the Moon, because the idea of reaching Mars is “uninspiring.” In 2019, Jeff Bezos gave this comparison to drive home what life on Mars would look like: “Go live on top of Mount Everest for a year first and see if you like it because it is a paradise compared to Mars.”

Why can't blue origin be as successful as spacex?
One clear culprit is Bezos’s system of the methods that he installed to guide Blue employees on how to set priorities and conduct their work. He wanted to limit his investment and parlay every lesson and technical decision of a project into another completely different project. He fashioned Amazon’s vaunted leadership principles into Blue Origin.
Why does Jeff Bezos consider Elon Musk and SpaceX his biggest enemy?

    3:26

  • Historic SpaceX flight to launch with only private citizens on board

    3:50

CNBC's Morgan Brennan reports from Kennedy Space Center, where SpaceX looks to launch the first spaceflight with only private citizens on board. For access to live and exclusive video from CNBC subscribe to CNBC PRO:

Elon Musk’s SpaceX is set to make history with a launch of four civilians in what would be the first full crew of nonprofessional astronauts to fly to space.

The mission, known as Inspiration4, is scheduled to lift off Wednesday night, with a five-hour window that opens at 8:02 p.m. ET.

The mission is the creation of SpaceX and billionaire entrepreneur Jared Isaacman, 38-year-old founder and CEO of Shift4 Payments. Isaacman purchased the multiday flight from SpaceX for an undisclosed fee, with the goal of raising awareness and funding for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

“This is significant and historic because it’s going to be the highest that any humans have gone into orbit since the Hubble [Space Telescope] servicing missions,” SpaceX senior director of human spaceflight Benji Reed told reporters Tuesday. The last Hubble servicing mission was in May 2009. “Another historic part for SpaceX is that this will be the first time that we have three [Dragon capsules] in orbit.”

Isaacman and the Inspiration4 team have worked with SpaceX to train since announcing the flight in February. He noted that the crew on Tuesday met with company leadership — including Musk, who “gave us his assurances again that the entire leadership team is solely focused on this mission.”

Asked how he felt with less than 24 hours to liftoff, Isaacman said he had “no jitters, excited to get going.”

SpaceX’s Crew Dragon capsule was developed with heavy investment from NASA, which has flown 10 of its professional astronauts on the spacecraft. While the space agency has comparatively minimal involvement in the Inspiration4 launch, NASA director of commercial spaceflight Phil McAlister told CNBC that private missions were one of the goals set when contributing government funds to SpaceX’s vehicle.

“We are seeing a sort of renaissance in commercial orbital human space transportation,” McAlister said. “For the first time in human history, you can go to a private company and purchase a ticket to orbit. You’ve never been able to do that; historically, you had to go to a government agency.”

One of the key factors for launching on Wednesday night remains the temperamental Florida weather, which will affect the timing of liftoff and the capsule’s splashdown a few days later.

“We look at not only the launch weather but we have to look at the return weather,” Reed said.

The U.S. Space Force’s 45th Space Wing forecast that the weather has a 80% probability of being clear to launch during Wednesday’s five-hour window. If SpaceX decides to postpone the launch, the next available opportunity would be Thursday.

SpaceX will broadcast steady live coverage of the launch, from four hours before liftoff to until the spacecraft reaches orbit.

  • How SpaceX Build Their Rockets So Fast?

    8:56

SpaceX handles two-thirds of NASA’s launches, so our question is: how does Elon Musk manage to get his SpaceX employees to build rockets so quickly! Stay tuned and subscribe to Futurity.

Since June 2010, rockets from the Falcon 9 group have launched 114 times, with 112 successful launches. The SpaceX lineup dominates rocket flights because of their innovation and how efficient their rockets are. They’re currently the only privately owned company that successfully delivers humans to the international space station.

SpaceX handles about two-thirds of NASA’s launches, including many research payloads, with flights as cheap as $62 million, roughly two-thirds the price of a rocket from United Launch Alliance, a competitor.

So, with all of these workloads, it begs the question: How does SpaceX manage to build their rockets so fast?

    Straightforward answer? Through exceptional engineering.

Their rockets are all made with innovative technology. Hypersonic grid fins made of titanium have been installed on all the SpaceX rockets, contributing to their rockets’ smooth landing. Elon Musk says these fins will be manufactured from welded steel on future starship vehicles.

The costs of their materials are relatively cheaper. Musk says carbon fiber costs about $135 per kilogram, which about 35% of it is wasted in the manufacturing process.

Thus, Elon Musk has opted for the cost-saving option in stainless steel, which costs about $3 per kilogram. And Elon explains that this is even more beneficial because it allows the company to experiment freely, without much fear of losing lots of money, compared to using carbon fiber.

  • How Does SpaceX Build Their Rockets

    7:00

Just last month, Elon Musk’s SpaceX successfully achieved the landmark technical feat of being the first privately-owned company to deliver human beings to the International Space Station, on one of it’s celebrated Falcon 9 rockets.

Experts reckon this marks the start of what could be a golden age of space exploration, as independent actors, free from the shackles of unpredictable public finances or whims of whoever happened to win the last election, can accelerate makinds’ long-promised progress out into the stars.

But how did SpaceX actually do it? Through brilliant engineering knowhow, of course, and a cost-conscious, business minded strategy. So today we’re examining the question – how does SpaceX build their rockets?
