If you've gone on a swimming hiatus, I've got something that could relaunch your swimming career. Swimming pools are a great place to cool off after a hectic day, but not all of them are that welcoming. For some, you'd fare better if you watched from a distance. These ten terrifying pools would make you change your mind about swimming.

    10. Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Singapore

Built 57 stories above the city, Marina Bay Sands has to be the longest rooftop infinity swimming pool measuring 150 meters long. When you swim here, you'll be gazing out over the beautiful city of Singapore. If you think the daytime has it all, wait until you see what wonders the night views have.

However, there is a heart-stopping experience that could make you change your mind about this pool. If you want to experience the deadliest part of the swim here, all you need to do is swim to the edge of the pool. You get a feeling that melds right into the skyline and you can swim off into it. If you're the kind that loves challenges, this would be the kind of exercise you dream of. If you're not too confident about swimming, it is best to stay clear. To access this pool, you must be a guest at the hotel even if it is for a night.

    9. Hierve el Agua, México

Hierve el Agua may resemble a regular hole and water on the ground, but it remains one of the biggest attractions in the area. This natural infinity swimming pool assures of scenic views of the mountain ranges and other sights as you swim. The water is amazing and I can assure you that you have never seen a thing like this in your life. From the green and golden hues, to everything your eyes can't explain, there's nothing not to love about the pool.

Although the name Hierve el Agua means boiling waters in English, it is nothing close to the reality. The pool is neither hot nor warm, it is freezing cold. If you're comfortable with a rocky road trip to the pool, you can as well dive into this hole of water and experience things for yourself. It is said that swimming in this pool is beneficial to one's health due to the high mineral content. These minerals have built up over the years, giving the pool the effect of petrified waterfalls.

    8. InterContinental Dubai Festival City, Dubai

There are a few buildings across the world that make one marvel at the architectural prowess of humans. The InterContinental Dubai Festival City is one such edifice. The pool here leaves you literally holding your breath as you swim because you'd be marveled at everything you'll see. At the top right of the InterContinental Dubai Festival City Hotel is a long swimming pool that ends with an overhanging portion dangling above the city.

It has a glass bottom and glass wall that makes you feel like you're floating above the skyline just as you take in views of the high rises. If you are keen on getting over your fear of heights, here is one location that can help you achieve that. However, can you handle it?

    7. Belmond Hotel Caruso, Italy

Built on the hillside above the Tyrrhenian Sea, this hotel and spa is equipped with luxuries you can only dream of. There's so much to do at the Belmond Hotel that you’d leave angry with yourself if you don't do half of them. Off the Amalfi Coast is a garden full of trees. The garden boasts various fragrances from around the world, plus a breathtaking view.

There's an infinity pool with sapphire blue waters that looks as though it was carved out from a real sea. If you swim to the edge of the pool, it feels like you're drifting from there to the coastal waters. Not only is it one of the most spectacular artificial pools with breathtaking views, it is designed to question your bravery. If you have boasted to your friends that you were the bravest among them, it is time to take a dip in this pool. Well, to be on the safe side and not disgrace yourself, you can lounge on the poolside and still have as much fun.

    6. Hotel Indigo, Hong Kong

If you have never swam above a skyline, here's Hotel Indigo sending you an invite to make your dreams come true. You can experience this and more when you book a trip to this beautiful hit. It offers guests one of the wildest experiences you can imagine. If you have the guts, you can take up the change to swim in the glass-bottomed pool. It is as though you're dancing above the city when you do that.

To make things even spookier, this pool is on the 29th floor and it hangs over the edge of the hotel as you swim. As you can see from the footage, it is not for the faint of heart.

When the summer comes, there is no better place to be than at a swimming pool. Whether it’s a natural swimming hole, or a human creation, we long to find the nearest pool where we can just dip in to refresh ourselves and overcome the heat of the long summer days. At the end of the day, the point of going to a pool is to have some fun and relax a bit, especially if we have a lot of time to spare. However, sometimes pools can be anything but relaxing. In fact, some of them are quite scary and some of them were meant to challenge our biggest fears. Today we’ll be looking at “10 of the Most Terrifying Pools in the World.” We’ll visit different corners of the world and explore some of the most thrilling swimming experiences around the globe. A lot of them can still be quite relaxing if you can keep yourself together, but some of them will definitely get your heart pumping faster. Find out what’s at the top of the list and decide for yourself whether you’d like to visit this place

    Glass-Bottomed Pool, China

Hotel pools have usually been designed with the hopes of giving people a chance to relax and unwind after a long day of sightseeing. In the case of urban hotels, the pools are the perfect escape from the hustle and stress that comes with the big city's lifestyle and the never ending meetings that come with it. But the people at the Holiday Inn in Beijing decided that it was a good idea to give their guests a unique experience: a glass-bottomed pool. You can find their pool on the 24th floor of the building. As you swim forward, you'll realize that part of it is hanging above ground and the only thing holding you is a thick layer of glass. This allows you to see what's happening underneath you, but it will definitely send chills down your spine, especially if you're afraid of heights. While this is a crazy idea for a pool, the concept has been built in different parts of the world. In some parts, the glass-bottomed pools are bridges on which you can swim across two different buildings. The popularity of these pools makes me realize that a lot of people like the concept.

    Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

If you like unique and fancy experiences, here's another one for you: The infinity pool at the top of Singapore's Marina Bay Sands. Infinity pools literally give the impression of infinity due to the facts that they lack any elevated edges, which allows the water to flow out. This one in Singapore is about three times the size of an olympic pool and it offers one of the best views of the city, including Gardens by the Bay, which is one of Singapore's most famous sights, and is right next to this pool. The pool is situated about 200 meters above ground, which might be a bit frightening.

    Sanctuary Retreats, Tanzania

The next pool on this list is also an infinity pool, and it might not be that terrifying since it's not as high above ground as the one in Singapore. You'll feel relaxed...as long as you don't pay attention to the wild animals near you. But then again, one of the reasons people go to Africa is to have a close encounter with the Animal Kingdom. So if that kind of adventure calls you, you might want to consider staying at a Sanctuary Retreat.

    Golden Nugget, USA

If swimming close to wild animals is your thing, then you might also want to get yourself inside the Golden Nugget. In this place, you can swim surrounded by sharks, which is an exotic and quite scary experience that you can only find in the ocean, and in places like Las Vegas, where everything seems possible. It's in this city where you can find the Golden Nugget, an extravagant casino with a pool that cost nearly 30 million dollars to be completed

    RMS Queen Mary’s Swimming Pool
    (

The next pool on this list is so old that it gained its spot on this list due to its reputation of being haunted. This pool is inside the Queen Mary, a famous abandoned ship in Long Beach, California. The ship was built in the year of 1930 and traveled the oceans for more than 30 years until its final cruise in 1967. Now the place is a floating hotel and one of the most interesting attractions in Southern California. But the ship is also considered a hotspot for spooky paranormal experiences.

Top 10 MOST INSANE Pools YOU WONT BELIEVE EXIST!

8 Pools you must TRY Before you DIE

Most INSANE SWIMMING POOLS You Wont Believe Exist !

    10) Holiday Inn, Shanghai
This pool at the Holiday Inn, Shanghai, China, hangs 100 meters up in the air and looks very inviting at first glance. Once you jump in you realize that instead of looking down at pool tiles, you can have a complete view of Shanghai city. There is a glass bottom at the deep end and you are 100 meters up in the air! Well that is scary. Would you dive in this one? Unless you want to flaunt your swimming skills to the people walking on the streets below, not many will take this dive..

    9) Nemo 33, Brussels
Nemo 33 was the world's deepest pool until San Alfonso Del Mar stole that title in 2007. It is now the second deepest indoor pool at 108 ft. Using highly filtered spring water at 96 degrees Fahrenheit, the pool is home to diving instruction, recreational use and film production. Divers can explore the system of underwater caves, and because Nemo 33 stays a constant warm temperature, they don't even need wetsuits.

    8) Habitat Swimmable Bridge
At 38 stories high, this bridge connecting two luxury apartment blocks in the suburb of Bishan in Singapore, is already intimidating enough to be on top of. Using the infinity pool idea, Habitat Swimmable Bridge lets you swim across the daunting height and you can’t get a better spot to work on your tan.

    7) Sanctuary Retreat, Tanzania
While staying at the Sanctuary Swala in Tanzania, you can enjoy a dip in the stunning infinity pool that overlooks the nearby waterhole, which is often visited by elephants as well as the big cats that are often seen. Apparently, this is a selling point. While most people don’t really fancy being that close to a lion or an elephant; some are daring enough to swim in this pool.

    6) Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas.
Las Vegas is known for its over-the-top amenities and attractions, and this pool is one of them. At the Golden Nugget on Fremont Street, the main pool has a three-story water slide that plunges through a 200,000-gallon shark tank. Did we mention the slide is transparent, so you can see the sharks that are circling just inches away? It is perfectly safe they assure us – the slide is enclosed. But call us pessimists, what happens when it breaks??
If the slide isn’t for you, you can also swim up to the tank to observe five different shark species and a variety of exotic fish

    5) Ocean Dome, Japan
The Ocean Dome in Miyazaki, Japan is the perfect alternative to an actual beach. Once billed as the world's largest indoor water park, it is home to the world's largest retractable roof with a simulated sky, clouds and all, a fake volcano, artificial sand and the world's largest wave pool. While the Ocean Dome attracted 1.25 million visitors in 1995, the dome closed in 2007 for renovation and resort repairs, with no official word of when it will reopen.

    4) Library Blood –Red Pool, Koh Samui
You might think someone had a terrible accident when you first see the waters of this blood-red pool, but it’s actually just the pool’s walls and floor that lend it its crimson hue. For extra dramatic effect, the pool also features underwater lights that make the shade pop even more, drawing in the tourists of Koh Samui. This is not as scary once you are in but red water does look terrifying at the first glance.

10 Scariest Swimming Pools You Won’t
    Believe Exist
It sure has been a while since a lot of us have had the chance to take a relaxing swim in a pool and just
let the water surround us. Nothing makes you more relaxed and at peace than a calming swim in a great
    pool.
In this video, we’re bringing you pools from all around the world that will invigorate you and give you
that zing of electricity with their daring heart-dropping locations and structures.
Make sure to stick around to find out why this attraction spot in Australia is one of the most terrifying
pools the world has possibly ever seen. Let’s dive right in!

#10 San Alfonso Del Mar pool, chile

So we are kicking this off with a pool that you can’t swim in. I know, I know, what good is mentioning a
pool that you can’t even take a dip in and enjoy the water? Well, if we were to talk about some of the
most insane and incredible pools in the world, it would be a crime to not mention the magnificent pool
at the San Alfonso Del Mar resort in Chile.
In this world which we know, there are regular pools, great pools, fantastic pools, Olympic-size pools,
and then there is the San Alfonso pool. It holds a league of its own. This pool holds the world record as
the world’s largest swimming pool. Imagine how huge that must be! The large water body is about a
kilometer or 0.6 miles long and can hold 66 gallons of water. However, this pool is not for swimming and
is only regularly allowed for the use of kayaks, canoes, and small boats.
Yearly maintenance is about 4 million dollars and the cost of even constructing this monstrous man-
made body was supposedly over three million dollars. The large volume of water is pumped in by a
unique filter system that flushes in water from the Pacific Ocean to make the pool. Swimming is not
encouraged because the pool is so large that if you ever started to drown, it would be near impossible
for a lifeguard to spot you and save you in time. Isn’t that just incredible?

#9 Hotel Indigo High Rise pool, Hong Kong

The next unbelievable swimming pool we have on our list is this blue-tiled pool at Hotel Indigo in Hong
Kong, China. This high-rise hotel is about 16 stories high and offers an unblocked view way over the
skyline and over the many much lower historic shophouses around the area.
The pool at Hotel Indigo is a charming little secret that you would definitely want to be in on.

    #8 Nemo 33

This one? This one will terrify the guts out of you! Nemo 33 is an indoor diving swimming pool in
Brussels, Belgium. The diving swimming people once held the world record for being the deepest indoor
swimming pool in the world until 2014 when it was knocked over by another pool. The pool goes as
deep as one hundred and thirteen feet and contains six hundred and sixty thousand gallons of water.
Now, why would anyone want to swim that deep? A daredevil would ask you why not?
The swimming facility is made for daredevils, deep-sea divers, and whatever else in between. The
facility, although it is made as possible, can quickly become a nightmare in the blink of an eye. The
facility allows tourists no younger than 12 years old, amateur divers and professional ones too. If you’re
going to be in Brussels, you might want to check out this really bizarre swimming pool. And don’t worry,
no one has died in there yet.

    #7 Golden nugget shark pool

I’ll start by asking why. Why? Why would anyone possibly want to swim with sharks? Of all the animals
in the entire sea, you choose sharks? You must have a lot of nerve to even think of venturing into The
    Golden Nugget Shark pool.
Although to be fair, you don’t actually get in contact with the sharks but the design of the pool makes
you feel like you do. This mind-blowing structure is located in downtown Vegas and has over time
become a must-stop landmark for anyone visiting Vegas. The pool is an enclosed three-story water slide
that lets you get up close and personal with these beasts of the sea. The structure cost tens of millions
of dollars and even has a large team of marine biologists taking care of the sharks. If you would, for
some strange reason, want to get an even closer look, the facility offers tank tours in which you can
swim around but not with these marine beauties, and take a class or two, learning about the various
    species you encounter.

There are hundreds of shark species in the Golden nugget pool so if you have been harboring a shark
fantasy for a while now or you have just been looking for that electric thrill or excitement, here you go.
    You’re welcome.

    Scariest Pools in The World.
Summers officially ended! And if you live in Arizona like me, then you are impossibly thankful for that. Summer means so frigging much, excruciating heat, AC on full blast, ice cream, and of course, cooling off with a nice dip in a pool!
Pools have been a staple of any summer event, whether its a large public pool, some epic water park, or even someones personal pool. It’s always refreshing to take a dip and relax. However...The difference between most pools and what I’m about to talk about today? Most public and private pools aren’t terrifying.
Some pools out there want to go that extra mile and not only give you an experience you wont forget, but also scare the hell out of you while doing it. Thankfully though, I don’t think you’ll find any floaters in these pools.
From a pool high up in the sky with no harness to a pool where you’re surrounded by mountains, here are ten of the scariest pools in the world,
With all that said and done, lets begin shall we? #10: Marina Bay Sands.
The Marina Bay Sands resort is a luxury location in Singapore, with several different amenities for guests, including shops and casinos. But undoubtedly one of its best views would be its pool, located on the top of the resort itself. If you’re like and hate heights, you’re probably thinking of one thing: Nope. Nope nope, nope nope nope. And I don’t blame you if you do think that. This is a pool on top of 57 levels of hotel, with zero guard rails or safety precautions seemingly. This looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen. However, it seems to not have any real problems attributed to it, so I guess thats pretty neat. This pool spans all three of the hotel buildings, stretching 146 meters in total, making it both a long pool, and still very very terrifying.
    #9: Holiday Inn, Shanghai.
Alright...Last entry wasn’t enough for you, I guarantee you this one will be. The last entry at least had the decent to keep the pool on the same place as the building. This horrifying monstrosity of engineering and design? This one is gonna give me a heart attack just by staring at the picture What you’re seeing here is a pool suspended from the roof the Holiday inn, minecraft style. No real supports here, glass floor at the bottom
to show you just how high up you are. Yeah...Pretty terrifying. This pool sits ajar from the roog at the Holiday Inn Pudong, Kangqiao, where this pool allows you to take a ast view of the city below...For better or for worse. Seriously, this idea alone seems like it was made in Minecraft and It’s giving me anxiety.
    #8: New Zealand Hilton hotel.
Aight. Admittedly slightly less terrifying then our previous entries here, but still kinda nerve wracking. This pool is located a the the Hilton hotel in Auzkland New Zealand, and as you can see, has less of a focus on the down below, and more a focus on the side view. Giving you not only a view of the landscape across, but also passerbys below a chance to see you show off that new swim suit or swim some laps, this pool has reinforced glass situated beside it. This is scary on the aforementioned facts alone, but this has the added bonus scare factor of allowing people to judge your beach body, and your swim form. The ground may hurt when you fall 50 stories, but words can hurt more.
#7: Koh Samui Blood pool - Thailand.
I’ll admit, this pool is far less terrifying to me personally then our first two entries. Scary? Nah. Unsettling? Oh Bloody hell yes. And Bloody is a very appropriate term to use for this entry as this pool seems to literally be filled with Blood. Kinda like it was a shark feeding frenxy before...But thankfully the actual explanation is far less gruesome. This is the Koh Samui Blood pool, located in Thailand, part of the Chawing Beach resort. The blood red hue doesn;t come from any additives or, thankfully real blood, but actually comes from the orange, red and yellow tiles laid below. The combo of these colors mixed with the rippling waters gives it a bloody appearance, making it a pretty good example of minimalist design. Safe to swim in, but you might get weird looks from some of your more squeamish friends.
    #6: Hemeroscopium house, Madrid.
Moving onto one of the few personal pools on this list...Actually I think this may be the ONLY personal pool here....Moving on, we have this rather bizarre looking home in Madrid. I know I complained about the Holiday Inn hotel earlier, but this one looks...

    8. Yulong Wave Pool
The idea of a wave pool is rather simple and elegant, and there are many water parks all over the world that have these wave machines and people love to ride the waves. Fun right?? But at the Yulong Wave Pool in China in the year 2019, things didn't go like they were supposed to, and the results were...rather bad.

    7. Y40
Deep pools are much more than they sound. It may appear to just be a deeper pool but they're ones that extend the pleasures of swimming to those who want to test themselves. The deepest one in the world today is the one known as Y40, aka the Deep Joy that is located in Italy via the Hotel Millepini.

    6. The Devil's Pool
The Devil's Pool is many things, including an interesting place to take a dip in. But, it's also a place you can die at if you're not mindful of your surroundings. In Zambia there is the legendary Victoria Falls, but a byproduct of this spot is called rock pools, which are formations where water flows off of stones just enough to allow people to swim at certain tides. The Devil's Pool is one of these rock pools.

    5. Kipu Falls
Kipu Falls is located in Hawaii, one of the most beloved vacation spots in the world, which would likely make you think that this particular swimming spot was one of great fun and enjoyment. But the problem is that 5 people have died at Kipu Falls, and thus its waters have gotten a not so nice nickname, the Pool of Death.

    4. Scandinavian Winter Swimming
If we were to mention Winter Swimming, you might think of certain groups that are crazy in regards to just going into cold water, but the theme of this kind of swimming, and the pools they are done in, is much grander than you think.

    3. The Red Pool
The Library resort pool in Thailand is among one of the most interesting pools in the world, for it's also known as The Red Pool because of its coloring. But it's not just red, the tiles in the pool actually change the water's color to orange as well as yellow, and it's because of this that so many want to go and see it for themselves.

    2. San Alfonso del Mar
In Chile, at San Alfonso del Mar, they wanted to make a pool so big that you could do more than any other pool before it. The result of that notion was a pool 20 acres in size. Not to mention, one that was almost a mile long end to end. That is truly a massive swimming pool.

    1. Chongqing Pool
In 2016, Chongqing, which is a municipality in China, was having a very hot Summer, with temperatures reaching well over 104 degrees. Naturally, the people of Chongqing decided to go to the pool that was in the city in order to cool off. On the surface, that isn't a bad thing, as it's almost expected given the temperatures. The reason that it was terrifying was that THOUSANDS of people were flocking to the pool.

It's almost May, the weather at home's still a bit dodgy and, hell, it's hump-day. You're probably thinking about booking your summer hols.

If you're anything like us, you'll be thinking a nice relaxing week in the sun, lying serenely by the pool with a book recommended by Richard & Judy (they know their stuff okay).

In which case, we don't recommend you go anywhere near these truly terrifying swimming pools.

However, if you're a bit of a thrill-seeker and love the thought of a few lengths smack bang in the middle of a safari park in Tanzania, knock yourself out.

Here's the top 9 scariest swimming pools, ranked from 'it's not that bad once you're in' to 'DON'T LOOK DOWNUntil you realise there's a glass bottom at the deep end and you're 100 metres up in the air. Nice if you want to show off your new bikini to the good people of Shanghai and holidaymakers arriving on BA flight 4567 though. It's great visiting a hotel with a pool and it's even cooler when the pool is on the roof with an amazing view. But are you brave enough to take a dip in these scary rooftop hotel pools?

There are rooftop pools and then there are death defying rooftop pools. These are pools located impossibly high off the ground with infinity-edges that make you fear as if the water is going to run off the side of the building, and carry you along with it.

    10: The Devil’s Pool: Zambia
You may have heard of Victoria Falls, or at least seen the photos of one of the world’s most spectacular waterfalls, located in Zambia. But did you know there is a natural pool formed by thousands of years of erosion at the top of the waterfall?

    9: The Golden Nugget Pool
How do you feel about sharks? Even if these monsters of the sea are trapped behind glass, they are still not overly appealing. And yet at the Golden Nugget in beautiful Las Vegas, Nevada, there is an actual pool surrounded by sharks. While terrifying to some, this is an adrenaline junkie’s pool to be sure.

    8: The Great Blue Hole
The Great Blue Hole is the largest sinkhole in the world, making it the largest and deepest natural pool ever. It makes the cenotes of Mexico look like inflatable backyard pools. Just look at it! It is terrifying.

    7: Marina Bay Sands Pool
The Marina Bay Sands SkyPark looks like something you would expect to find in the year 3022. This is a futuristic place, settled upon the three giant hotel towers and overlooking beautiful Singapore. It’s a 1-hectare park in the sky, and along its edge is the terrifying Marina Bay Sands Pool.

6: The Queen Mary Haunted Swimming Pool
This pool is located on the RMS Queen Mary, which is a historical ocean liner that operated from 1936 to 1967, and it’s supposedly haunted. Carrying roughly 15,000 men across the ocean in a single voyage during wartime, it was a fast ship for the Germans to catch.

    5: Nemo 33
The Nemo 33, located in Brussels, is one of the world's deepest pools. Even though the ocean is considered “the biggest swimming pool”, Nemo 33 is the deepest indoor pool. You can dive approximately 113 feet below the surface of the water. This is intense!

    4: Sky Habitat Swimmer’s Bridge
The Sky Habitat swimmer’s bridge is a pool that connects two newly developed housing towers. The housing towers are a revolution in themselves, each with super luxurious balconies and accommodation. But the real luxury is having a pool connecting your building to your neighbor’s building.

3: Yulong Shuiyun Water Amusement Park
Everyone loves the wave pool… right? But how about a massive wave the size of a tsunami? Not ideal, I must say. At a water park in China, in the city of Longjing near North Korea, an electric malfunction caused a massive wave to injure 44 casual swimmers just looking for a day of fun and sun at the water park.

    2: Starkenberger Beer Pools: Austria
This is probably the number one place in the world for those who love their beer. You can literally swim in warm beer mixed with a little bit of water, you know, for texture. Each beer swimming pool is 13 feet with 42,000 pints of beer. And while some claim this is healthy because the beer contains lots of vitamins and calcium that are supposedly good for your skin, even supposedly curing open wounds and psoriasis.

1: The Y-40 Dive Pool: Italy
This Italian pool stole the record for deepest pool on Earth by only about 7 meters beside the Nemo-33. Still, this pool is incredibly deep. And it is terrifying. There is nothing I can think of that is scarier than running out of oxygen 42 meters underwater.

    9:50

One of the most resilient creatures in the animal world are crocodiles who have been roughly the same since they evolved 200 million years ago. The secret to survival? Their sharp jaws, of course. Sometimes these jaws, break arms, sometimes they get hold of a human head. These reptiles are so strong and scary that they can scare away a whole pack of wildebeest by one appearance!

    Overconfident Zookeeper

Crocodile shows seem like a fun thing to attend, but not when you’re the zookeeper. Take this incident, for example. A zookeeper in Thailand was performing a trick of the masses but putting his own head into the croc’s mouth. Usually, he’d do this trick by putting two sticks into there, but this time he decided to put only one stick since he was feeling more daring than usual.

But things went wrong, very wrong. As soon as he put his head into the crocodile’s mouth, it snapped shut! And that’s not all. The beast then thrashed around with his head in its mouth. Crocodiles are very moody animals and one of the most unpredictable ones, too. Just sitting near one is daring enough, but doing tricks such as this one is pure foolishness. There were no further details about the condition of the zookeeper, unfortunately.

Crocodile And Man In A Death Roll

Crocodile shows seem to be quite popular in Thailand since this incident also takes place there. Summit Thongkhammuan was a croc trainer, but it was not his lucky day. At first, he kept teasing the open-jawed crocodile as the crowd watched on. Then he got on one knee and put his hand inside his mouth. The plot twist? There was no stick like last time!

Thongkham Man was trying to prove that the crocodile was obedient enough to not bite. However, this would soon prove to be a very disastrous move. Not two seconds later after putting his hand in the reptile’s mouth, it snapped shut on the trainer's arm and held on extremely tightly with its sharp jaws. Then it started rolling around like it would in the wild. This move is actually called the death roll and is used by crocodiles to drown their prey. Poor Sumet’s arm was completely broken, but he said that at least he was lucky to be alive

10 Most Terrifying Discoveries Made In Brazil
Brazil is a fascinating country and a lot of amazing things have been discovered there. I for one am a big fan of Bossa Nova, which is for me the best thing that ever came out of Brazil. However, some of these discoveries, although amazing, are sometimes utterly terrifying, and those are what we will be focusing on today. From prehistoric animals thought to still swim Brazil’s waters, to a spider that can kill in one bite, here are 10 of the most terrifying discoveries made in Brazil.

    Number 10. The Megalodon

Brazil is known for its wildlife. However, the focus is usually given to those who inhabit the Brazilian Amazon. Little attention is given to its sea life, that was until this video surfaced.
In this footage released by the Brazilian coast guard, the silhouette of a monstrously large fish was caught by the helicopter’s camera during a rescue operation. At first, the coast guard officers didn’t notice the giant shadow swimming past them beneath the waves, but after reviewing the footage later on, they couldn’t believe their eyes. From the looks of it, that fish was upwards of 60 feet long.
Of course it could have been another large fish, primarily the whale shark, but there’s one massive flaw in that theory; whale sharks aren’t actually found anywhere in Brazil. There is the chance that one got lost and found itself at the right place at the right time, but the chances of that happening is highly improbable.
Furthermore, the footage has been analyzed by countless experts, and there’s no way that it could have been doctored. Many people who saw the footage came to one conclusion; the megalodon.

    Number 9. Mysterious Tunnels

If you go exploring certain rock faces in South America, especially in Brazil, you might come across some of the many smooth walled tunnels that pepper the area. Initially, you might think that these are just simple, natural caves, but they are far from it, especially if you examine the walls.
Natural caves are formed by water dissolving rock over millennia, and they do create caverns with smooth walls. But these “caves” in Brazil have something that sets them apart from any other caves. If you look closely at the walls, you’ll see giant claw marks. Yes, these are not caves, but tunnels. Here’s the terrifying part; they could have only been made by a gigantic, clawed animal.
Fortunately, no living animal that we know of would be able to perform such a feat. In prehistoric Brazil, though, there were a lot of giant fauna, and scientists have dwindled the possible culprits down to 2 animals; prehistoric giant armadillos such as Holmesina and Pampatherium, or Giant Ground Sloths, like the Megatherium or Erometherium, all of which called prehistoric Brazil their home.

    Number 8. Stinky Aliens
Aliens and UFO culture is deeply embedded in Brazilian culture; both ancient and modern, but more on that later. For now, let’s focus on a specific incident that, if true, might just prove the existence of aliens and that Brazil is a hotspot for alien encounters.
On a Saturday afternoon stroll in January 2016, in Varginha, Brazil, three young women decided to take a shortcut home through a vacant lot. In a clump of weeds, they encountered a creature like nothing they had seen before.
The being had oily, brown skin and rubbery limbs, according to one of the women. It also had rounded protrusions sprouting from its oversized head. She also said that the creature had a terrible odor that was so strong, one whiff of it wo0uld cause you to weaken at the knee. When the creature looked at the three women, they turned tail and ran away as quickly as they could.
Of course, news of the incident spread like wildfire in the local area. But since there have been no other sightings of the stinky alien, much less video and photographic evidence, this could just be another case of misidentification. That wouldn’t explain the nose shattering smell though.

    Number 7. Snake Island
As its name suggests, Snake Island is home to a huge population of snakes. According to some estimates, there's one snake in each square meter of the island. The problem is, these aren’t just your normal, garden variety snakes. They just so happen to be one of the most venomous snakes in the world; the golden lancehead viper.

Terrifying Swimming Pools | Top 10 Coolest Stuff 2020

Hello and welcome back to top 10 coolest stuff, let's take a look at top 10 terrifying swimming pools.

A fun filled day at a water park in China turned into the stuff of nightmares when a wave machine malfunctioned. The faulty machine at Shuiyun Water Park caused a giant ‘tsunami’ that left 44 people injured, according to the reports.

Y-40 Deep Joy in Italy, The 40 metre deep pool has underwater caves designed for diving beginners. Not for the faint-hearted, the pool reaches a depth of 130ft, equivalent to the height of a 14-storey building, and is the deepest indoor swimming pool in the world; holding a staggering 4300 cubic metres of water. The cylindrical pool, which was designed by renowned architect Emanuele Boaretto, opened in June and is heated at a temperate 32C, which means unlike deep sea divers, divers exploring Y-40 do not need to wear wetsuits while they swim.

San Alfonso del Mar is a private resort in Algarrobo, Chile, about 100 km west of Santiago. The resort had one of the world's largest swimming pools. At the time of its completion in 2006, it was in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest pool in the world by area. The enormous man-made pool, set along the coastline, is larger than 20 Olympic-size pools and holds a whopping 66 million gallons of water, according to The Daily Mail. Crystal Lagoons, the creator of the pool, claims it's six times bigger than its closest competitor, the Orthlieb Pool in Casablanca, Morocco.

The creepy pool at the Library Resort in Thailand uses red and orange reflective tiles to give it a blood red glow. Although it may look off-putting, the red colour in the extraordinary swimming pool of The Library, Koh Samui, is reassuringly not due to the water itself. The vibrant hue is caused by the red tiles which line the pool, which certainly makes it stand out next to the azure surroundings. The iconic pool has attracted many tourists on the island, and is a prominent feature of the highly-rated hotel.

The Open Scandinavian Championship in Winter Swimming, which takes place every year in a 25-meter pool cut out of a frozen lake in a small Swedish town, skelleftea, only about 100 miles from the Arctic Circle. Nearly 400 swimmers traveled there in February for the privilege and thrill of competing in this unique sport with as many health benefits as risks, it seems.

The Pool of Death in Hawaii's Kipu Falls along the Huleia Stream is a scary reminder of the dangers on the big island. In most of the cases, the swimmers jumped off the top of the waterfall into the pool of blue-green water about 20 feet below, then were pulled to their deaths while attempting to swim to the shore. Others have suffered chest injuries, rope burns, perforated eardrums and broken and sprained ankles. A teenage girl was paralyzed after jumping there.

Nemo 33, near Brussels, the capital city of Belgium, is definitely an exciting place worth checking for when you can’t travel to warm tropical waters. Nemo 33, a 33 m deep diving pool in Belgium.

The Sands SkyPark Infinity Pool, at the top of the iconic Marina Bay Sands, is one of the world's most stunning rooftop pools. The SkyPark Infinity Pool is 150m long and located 57 stories above the ground. It offers swimmers an incredible bird's-eye view of Singapore's stunning metropolitan skyline.

After thousands of years of erosion, many rock pools have formed near the great Victoria Falls – and one of them… right on the very edge! Devil’s Pool – with a sheer drop and a up-close-and-personal view of the sheer drop off the side of the falls – is indeed the ultimate infinity pool! The view from the edge is totally exhilarating as you feel the force of the Zambezi flowing past you and crashing down over the precipice; a hundred-meter drop.

10 Most Terrifying Discoveries Made In Brazil
Lush rainforests, fantastic white sand beaches, epic wildlife, Carnivale, these are just some of the
amazing things you can discover in Brazil. I know that all of us are getting stir crazy with being stuck at
home for a year now, but as the world slowly gets back to normal, you should make Brazil one of your
first destination and make your own discoveries there. Just pray you don’t come across any of these
    things on today’s list.
From giant ancient burrowers to a megafish that’s long thought to be extinct, here are 10 of the most
    terrifying discoveries made in Brazil.

    Number 10. Giant Tunnels

    caves-theyre-prehistoric-burrows
Brazil is famous for a few things; it’s forests and the variety of wildlife within, music and festivals, even
martial arts. However, just recently, Brazil is getting a lot more attention for the various recent
discoveries made there. This being one of them.
If you explore certain rock faces in the country, you’ll find a lot of smooth walled caves. Thing is, they
aren’t really caves, but tunnels. You see, caves are naturally formed by water dissolving rock and the
process could go on for millions of years. The result is a cave with smooth walls.
If you look closely at the walls of these tunnels, you’ll see giant claw marks. Yes, marks that can only be
made by a giant animal with giant claws. As it turns out, prehistoric Brazil was home to a number of
    giant tunnel digging monsters.
Although the exact animal who dug up these tunnels hasn’t been identified yet, researchers do have a
few suspects; prehistoric giant armadillos such as Holmesina and Pampatherium, or Giant Ground
Sloths, like the Megatherium or Erometherium.

    Number 9. Snake Island
Of course, no list like this would be complete if we don’t talk about Ilha de Queimada Grande, better
known as Snake Island, which is a small island located in the Atlantic Ocean just off the coast of Brazil.
The island is famous for one thing and one thing only; it houses the densest population of venomous
snakes anywhere in the world. And we’re not talking about just any ordinary snake, no sir. They are
golden lancehead vipers, one of the most venomous snakes in the world.
The island is packed with these vipers. According to the latest survey, there is at least one snake per
square meter of the island. They are highly venomous, packing venom that is so fast acting, it can kill a
    person in under an hour.
The island is now uninhabited, and except for a few researchers who go there every now and then, no
other persons are allowed to visit, that is, if there are any willing enough to do so. The last permanent

inhabitants of the island were a lighthouse keeper and his family, who were wiped out in a single night
    by a solitary golden lancehead.

Number 8. The Bahia Horned Beast

Now, here’s a terrifying discovery that may or may not be real. But, as always, I’ll give you all the details
that I know and make you decide for yourself whether to believe in it or not. Personally, given that
scientists believe that a lot of unknown animal species have yet to be discovered, I think a creature like
this can possibly be hiding in the forests of Brazil.
This devilish creature is known as the Bahia Horned Beast, and this is the only known photo of it. The
image first came up back in 2007, and the story that went with it was that it was taken by a 15 year old
girl while wandering in the forest.
At first, it looks like a man covered in mud, but if you look closely, you’ll notice that the creatures face is
more skull-like than human. You can also see a pair of what looks like devil horns on either side of its
head, hence its name. It also looks like it’s holding something in its arms; some say an offspring, while
    others a weapon.
But what do you think? Man that likes mud baths or undiscovered devilish creature? You decide.

Number 7. The Amazonian Giant Centipedes
Finding an unknown creature is terrifying for some, but what’s even scarier is coming across a real
creature that has the potential to harm and even kill. Especially if it looks like this.
The Amazonian Giant Centipede is among the largest centipedes in the world, growing to 12 inches or
    more.

We surely love animals, but we gotta admit some of them are very scary and I’m confident to say that a lot of you are not fans of snakes. We've grown up knowing they're sneaky and a snake's bite can potentially harm us - especially if they're venomous. But, not everything about snakes is that bad. Some of them can be very friendly and that's one of the reasons a lot of people have brought them into their homes. Today we'll be looking at 10 Terrifying Snakes That Are Actually Friendly. You'll be surprised to know that there are actually a bunch of these reptiles out there that have no intention of harming you. Check out what's at the top of my list - as I'm sure the looks of this snake will make you want to avoid it, but it could actually become your new best friend!

    Let’s begin.

    Western Hognose Snakes

Our list begins with the Hognose Snake, a snake that is native to North America. It is known for its unique nose and for the fact that it spends most of its time burrowing. Compared to other snakes, the hognoses are quite small. But there's an aspect that might terrify a lot of people - when stressed, these snakes tend to extend their necks like cobras do and they do a very loud hissing noise that would make everyone freak out right away. However, this is all a show! The scariest thing that can happen from there is that they will strike, but with the mouth closed, which will only make them bounce off whatever they attack. The hognoses will rarely bite anything that isn't food. In fact, their defense mechanism is to run away and ultimately play dead, by rolling over onto their backs! Some people flip them back with their hands and the snake just goes back to playing dead. Isn’t that adorable? All of these facts make it sound like the Western Hognose Snake is the perfect pet, right?

    Green Tree Python

The next snake on this list has very beautiful skin, but compared to others, this one likes to spend most of its time off the ground. Instead, the green tree python, as the name suggests... prefers to climb trees, which I'm sure makes a few people uncomfortable - they can easily just pop out and scare anyone that runs into them. With those eyes and those bright colors, I'm sure it's not the kind of animal you'd just come close to and pet. However, there's nothing about the tree pythons that should make us worry. In fact, they are so beautiful that many people decide to adopt them. And they can thrive in a domestic setting, as long as their owners learn how to meet their many needs. Their diet mainly consists of mice and small reptiles such as geckos and skinks. Due to their unique colors and their popularity among snake breeders, the green tree python is often illegally caught and transported, which puts its life at risk, as well as the well being of its entire population. For that reason, different people around the world are making efforts to keep the species safe.

    Boa Constrictors

I am sure boas are somehow terrifying for a lot of people and it's not only because they're bigger, but also because they are very interactive. But, there's nothing to fear! Dogs are also interactive, and you're not scared of them, right? The Boas are perfect for those who want to have a large snake pet. They are also some of the most intelligent and curious reptiles out there. Overall, they like to display their interactive personality whenever they get a chance. I can see how a big intelligent snake can scare some people. However, boas rarely attack humans. They can be easily tamed and if they ever bite, which again - is rare, it might get a bit more painful than other snakebites, but it will not put your life in danger. They can live from 20 to 30 years and sometimes, even 40. So if you consider getting one today, make sure you're ready to make a lifetime commitment! These friendly snakes will likely stay by your side for half of your life.

    Rosy Boa

Are you interested in boas? Then you’re gonna love the next one on my list! It's a very exotic kind of snake, originally from Cayos Cochinos in the North Coast of Honduras.

It's easy to see why many people consider the Megalodon as the most remarkable sea creature after watching the movie Meg. This could have one of the most potent bite forces in the world but are certainly not the scariest of their kind. What other sea creatures didn't have in size, they augmented with bite force and charisma. Sit tight as we run through the ten terrifying creatures scarier than the Megalodon shark!
    10. Stethacanthus
The Stethancanthus is one animal that gives stern warning to people who think that being huge is a necessity to qualify as a terrific creature. It resembles a typical shark with a pointed face and sharp teeth, but instead of the regular dorsal fin, it has a strange anvil-shaped spike on its head. This animal lived around 360 to 260 million years ago and boasted of unusual physical characteristics. Although they were tenacious predators in their own right, they were prey for larger fish like the Dunkleosteus. This animal resembles similar shark species that would later evolve today.
They were solitary hunters that stuck to small fish, anthropoids, and cephalopods. They were also fast swimmers and hunted prey by chasing and grabbing them from the seabed. Their flat dorsal fins are the most striking feature, plus the tooth-shaped scales. Only the males had this odd fin, meaning that it played a crucial role in mating and courtship displays. Although relatively minor in size, this animal is brutal and can pose some resistance to more giant creatures despite the chances that it could be defeated.
    (3:40-5:00)
    9. Plesiosaurus

Even if we agree that the Megalodon was one of the most dreaded creatures of its time, the Plesiosaurus fits into the same shoe. This animal is a giant reptile measuring about 43 feet long and appearing on several movies and TV shows. The incredible feature of this reptile is its long serpentine necks consisting of almost half of its entire body. Think of the average human neck and what it would look like if it were ten times longer. After imagining the possibility, understand that this animal's neck is ten times that of an average human's own.
Their massive razor-sharp teeth have a 33000 PSI bite force that allows them to hunt other sea creatures while navigating through the ocean in a flying-like motion. Its long neck was used to snatch fish trying to escape its grip. What even makes this animal more terrific is the fact that they can catch their prey easily. Even if you find your way into a boat, the chances are that its long neck would stretch to the boat to snatch you away.

    8. Bobbitt worms
Regular earthworms are so harmless that we love to have them around our farms because they do a perfect job of aerating the soil. Imagine having a 10 feet worm dwelling inconspicuously under the seafloor and ready to hunt. Yea, this is what the Bobbitt worm is known for. These deadly worms lie on the floor of world oceans and open their mouths to trap unlucky prey while the rest of their bodies are safely hidden underground. The only instinct this beast has is hunger which makes them eat and capture anything with their antennas.
They use their super-sharp pharynx to slice their victims in half while dragging them into the ocean ground and settling for a decent meal. It becomes fascinating to learn that this animal tactfully erases any evidence that the prey ever crossed its path. This worm can permanently paralyze human appendages using its bristles that release toxins that cause skin irritation. How they reproduce remains a mystery to researchers, although some plausible theories support their reproduction cycle.

    6. Mosasaurus
Mosasaurus ruled the sea during the Cretaceous period dating over 100 million years ago. This ruthless predator has a striking resemblance with the sea dinosaur, but scientists agree that it was a reptile related to snakes. Although this monster varied in size, an average one reached a whopping 50 feet. This monster uses its vast flippers and flexible body to kill and swallow anything that crosses its path. It is an apex predator meaning that other creatures run for their lives on sighting them. Their double hung Jaws and two rows of teeth help the mouth stretch as wide as possible to accommodate other sea monsters, sharks, and smaller species.

  • 11 Most Terrifying Lakes on Earth

    10:19

Lakes usually instill a feeling of calm and serenity with their clear water and light breezes. When you imagine a lake, the first thing that probably comes to mind is a calm pool of water where you can swim, sail, or just sit and enjoy the beauty. But are all lakes safe? Well, we don’t think you’ll wanna go anywhere near the lakes we’re gonna tell you about, let alone take a dip in their dangerous waters!

Have you ever heard, for example, about the Boiling Lake? Located in Dominica’s Morne Trois Pitons National Park, this lake can reach temperatures of 197°F along the edges. One more really dangerous lake is located in Africa. Weather conditions over it change so rapidly and without any warning that even experienced sailors have no idea when to expect danger...

    SUMMARY:
    - Dubbed the most polluted place on earth, Lake Karachay is no body of water you want to be anywhere near. And that’s because it was chosen as a dumping site for radioactive waste back in the 1950s.
    - Rakshastal is so salty that literally nothing can survive in its waters, and those who live in nearby villages consider it poisonous.
    - If there’s a really notorious lake on our planet, it’s definitely Lake Natron. First of all, the water can get as hot as 120°F, the red stuff is salt so it’s certainly not a freshwater lake, and its pH level is about 10.5. This makes it so alkaline that very few creatures can live in it.
    - There are lakes surrounded by lush forests and green pastures, and then there’s Horseshoe Lake that only has dead trees for hundreds of feet around. This lake is among the deadliest in the world because of its CO2 emissions.
    - Lake Nyos is one of the 3 explosive lakes we know about. Its CO2 deposits at the bottom are quite dangerous, and even the smallest earthquake can trigger their release.
    - Lake of the Ozarks located in central Missouri actually holds a dark secret: it’s downright poisonous! The concentration of E. coli bacteria in its water is so high that you can get sick just by swimming in it.
    - Lake Michigan isn’t as safe as you think. Its underwater currents can be so rapid that if you swim in it, you won’t even have time to react when something grabs you and pulls you into the watery depths.
    - Just like Lake Nyos, Kivu is an exploding lake and one of the It holds not only CO2 at its bottom but also about 1.94 trillion cubic feet of methane, an extremely explosive gas.
    - There’s nothing toxic, explosive, or extremely hot about the waters of Lake Champlain. You see, Champlain is home to hundreds, if not thousands, of lampreys. Lampreys are blood-sucking parasites that latch onto their prey to feed.

  • Terrifying Video Shows Suspended Swimming Pool Violently Collapsing

    2:26

A video circulating on social media features a suspended swimming pool abruptly collapsing and flooding a parking garage below. The incident took place in Vitória, Brazil, on April 22 around 10 p.m. local time, according to a timestamp in the CCTV footage. The video starts with a narrow lap pool surrounded by plants and flood lights, with no people visible. Suddenly, the bottom of the pool gives out and the water drops through in one motion. It's a clean break; the rectangular bottom of the pool falls completely, with barely any of the pool's blue-tiled bottom remaining attached to its container. The video transitions to footage of the parking garage below the pool, which is suddenly flooded with water, stone and other building materials. The deluge of pool water jetting into the garage is so forceful that a parked car in it is propelled a few feet forward. No people are seen in the garage. No residents were injured, according to Reddit user leandroas. The building had to be evacuated after the incident. The building was built in 2018 and the construction company is paying the hotel cost for the 270 residents, they will be able to return to the building on the 27th.leandroas' post of the video has over 1,300 Reddit comments as of Saturday morning, many of them remarking on the pool's apparent lack of a rebar, a steel bar that would reinforce the concrete structure of the pool.If the rebar is not properly encased it means that the concrete is not reinforced properly, Rick Chaney wrote for Hunker. There could also be relective cracking if the rebar is not securely tied.Reddit user level 2uptokesforall commented, The lack of rebar tells me that construction company cut a lotta corners. No surprise the failure occurred so early in the building service life.Near the end of the video, I can see a rod rolling, that could be the rebar. I cant imagine that a pool could be on top of a slab without any reinforcement if the engineers calculated for the load that pool adds according to codes, commented user Bllloodyhell. In another Reddit comment, user Larakj said: Legitimately how often is a swimming pool built above the parking garage? Thankful it wasn't on the top of the building.Reddit user potentialnamebusines added: This is why I will never go into a pool that is suspended midair.Newsweek has reached out to leandroas for additional comment.
