The US Is Testing Their New Bomber (LRS-B and B-21)

The United States military has always been on the forefront of developing the most accurate, powerful, and deadly military aircraft for decades. There seems to be no limit to what they can achieve, from stealth fighters that can't be detected by radar to spy planes that can nearly break free from the Earth's atmosphere. It is one of the many reasons why the United States has been able to boast one of the most powerful Air Forces in the world.

In recent years though, the United States Air Force has announced that development of a new bomber program would further solidify its top spot as the world's most powerful military. This program takes areal warfare to a whole new level and could be a deciding factor for any wars that may come in the future. Many people wonder exactly how much more advanced our warfare can get. From stealth fighters to stealth bombers, there seems to be no end in sight as far as our technological capabilities. However, leave it up to the United States Air Force and the government to prove a person wrong.

USAF Has Finally Tests Its 6th Generation Fighters

Welcome back to American Heroes for a new documentary video about 6th Generation Fighters Are Coming.

A 6th generation fighter is a conceptualized class of jet fighter aircraft design more advanced than the fifth-generation jet fighters that are currently in service and development. Several countries have announced the development of a sixth-generation aircraft program, including the United States, China, United Kingdom, India, Russia, Italy, Sweden, Japan, Germany, Spain, Taiwan and France.

The United States Air Force (USAF) and United States Navy (USN) are anticipated to field their first sixth-generation fighters. The USAF is pursuing development and acquisition of a 6th generation fighter through the Penetrating Counter Air program to replace its existing air superiority fighters such as the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle and complement existing platforms in service such as the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor.

American Heroes covers military events and missions from the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard.

  • China Has Finally Released Its New Stealth Bomber

    10:51

As only three countries have bombers, the Chinese fleet represents the world's second most-potent aerial strike force, possessing nearly 250 bombers. To provoke the US and test its superpower, the Chinese Air Force recently started an invasion toward Taiwan with upgraded H-6 bombers. As we know, the H-6s are slow and vulnerable targets against advanced US bombers fleet. So would it be enough for a hundred H-6 bombers to punch through an American flattop's defenses and prove Chinese intercontinental power? Or Beijing needs to hurry up with developing a new stealth bomber that will carry nuclear weapons as far as 7,500 miles?

US Air Force reveals more on Newest B-21 Raider stealth bomber

The Northrop Grumman B-21 Raider is an American heavy bomber under development for the United States Air Force by Northrop Grumman.

The new stealth U.S. Air Force B-21 bomber has taken yet another key technological step toward being ready for war, through integrated computer automation designed to streamline information, improve targeting and offer pilots organized warzone information in real-time.

Not only will integrated next-generation software exponentially speed-up war-sensitive decision making, but it will also increase performance for weapons systems. Things like weapons guidance systems, weapons network security, processing speeds, and major war platform functionality. Long-range sensors for an airplane’s command and control systems and of course procedures to aggregate otherwise stovepiped data systems, can all be optimized through software upgrades.

  • Air Force Finally Releases New Image of B-21 Stealthy Future Bombers

    10:11

The landing gear rendering in the images is very akin to that on the B-2, with similar positioning and nose gear doors. The image suggests the aircraft crew compartment is accessed through the nose gear area, as it is on the B-2, and the nose gear is positioned further back from the nose than it is on the B-2. The picture also suggests that each of the main landing gear rests on two large wheels, instead of four on the B-2, perhaps owing to the B-21’s smaller size and weight. The landing gear doors also have more angles than those on the B-2, and may possibly fold like those on the F-22. No new information can be gleaned by the aircraft’s “shadow” on the hangar floor, which confirms the kite-like shape of the aircraft as seen in the original artist’s concept.

The Air Force did not offer any comment with the release of the new images, or why they were released at this particular time.

U.S. Air Force Testing New B-21 Raider Bomber Most Feared and Deadliest

The Northrop Grumman B-21 Raider is an American heavy bomber under development for the United States Air Force by Northrop Grumman.

Speed of targeting and data organizing technology will also help expand the weapons envelope for the new bomber. As Weatherington mentioned, the B-21 is designed to conduct close-in, stealth attacks against enemy air defenses and heavily defended targets, all while remaining undetected. At the same time, the mission scope for the bomber also includes long-range attack and an ability to conduct missions with nuclear weapons, if needed.

While much is often discussed about the expectation that the B-21 will bring new, unprecedented measures of stealth technology, a much lesser-known or discussed element of the platform is its internal technical configuration such as computer processing, electronics, targeting sensors, and AI-enabled data management systems.

Viewers may note that on Jan. 31, 2020, the U.S Air Force along with Northrop Grumman, released three new renderings of the B-21
All three of these featured the same artist's concept of the aircraft photoshopped into real pictures of hangars at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota, Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, and Dyess Air Force Base in Texas.

According to USAF, the B-21 stealth bomber is scheduled to be rolled out for public view in 2021 and could fly as early as December 2021,
The bomber is being assembled at a secure government-owned, contractor-operated facility known as Air Force Plant 42 near Palmdale, California which is three million square feet of industrial space and is near Edwards Air Force Base.

The B-21 is expected to enter service in the latter half of the 2020s with a target fleet of 100 aircraft. These will be used to succeed (perhaps optimistically at this point) the aging line of Boeing B-52, Rockwell B-1 and even Northrop's own B-2 stealth bombers currently in service. The USAF's Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO) is heading the initiative. Northrop Grumman was awarded the rights to design, develop, and produce the next USAF strike bomber through the LRS-B initiative.

  • New B-21 Raider Stealth Bomber AS Ready To Tear Russian S-500 & Chinese Air Defenses

    8:31

Could the US Air Force someday have 180 B-21s? Some think it's possible - or at least should be considered.

As Northrop Grumman pushes forward with America's next-generation stealth strategic bomber production, the US Air Force (USAF) is considering plans to buy nearly twice as many B-21s as originally thought.

The B-21 prototype is starting to get cleaned up. Earlier this summer, Randy Walden, program director and executive officer for Air Force Rapid Capability Office, offered an update on the B-21 program. The first test aircraft are being built, and it's starting to look like an airplane, Walden said. “Suppliers from all over the country are sending co-manufactured parts now. The aircraft program will always have some surprises from the start, and we will not be any different, but overall the B-21 Raider is doing well, he added. Defense Secretary Mark Esper, who visited Northrop Grumman's B-21 design and development headquarters in August, gave an optimistic assessment: I am deeply impressed by the dedication and progress throughout the B-21 Raider team.

The U.S. Navy is working to counter China in the Pacific, but it could be the Air Force’s B-21 Raider that really shakes things up.
In recent years, the United States Navy has dramatically increased the frequency of Freedom of Navigation Operations (FONOPS) in the South China Sea. This increase in Pacific activity can be directly attributed to China’s aggressive behavior throughout the region, working to enforce their illegal claims of sovereignty over the heavily trafficked portion of ocean.

U.S. Air Force Really Needs the New B-21 Raider The Most Advanced Stealth Bomber

The Northrop Grumman B-21 Raider is an American heavy bomber under development for the United States Air Force by Northrop Grumman.

The B-21 Raider, named after the Doolittle Raiders of World War II fame, could make its maiden flight sometime in mid-2022, according to reporting by Air Force Magazine. B-21 airframe number one has already completed, with construction on the second airframe already underway.

For conventional missions, the B-21 will carry the JASSM-ER conventional cruise missile and two-thousand-pound GBU-31 Joint Directed Attack Munition satellite-guided bombs. The B-21 could use these weapons in a similar manner as its nuclear weapons, blasting its way through the enemy’s defenses before dropping JDAMs. Alternately, the B-21 could be used as a missile truck, launching up to sixteen JASSM-ERs at enemy targets from a distance, or penetrating less sophisticated enemy defenses to deliver JDAMs on target. The B-21 will also need to carry the thirty-thousand-pound Massive Ordnance Penetrator bomb, the largest conventional bomb in the U.S. arsenal, as the B-2 is currently the only bomber capable of lifting the enormous bomb.

The Air Force plans to spend about $300 million on military construction projects for the B-21 raider in fiscal 2022, and $1 billion over five years. The service requested $2.8 billion for the plane’s research and development in fiscal 2021 alone, though the price tag is still evolving.

The Most Advanced Bomber Ever: Here,s What We Know About The B-21 Raider

In order to serve as a viable replacement for both the super-fast B-1B and the super-stealthy B-2 Spirit, the B-21 Raider will have to be able to engage any target, at any time, anywhere on the globe. Although it’s expected the the B-21 will be a subsonic aircraft (as in, not capable of breaking the speed of sound), it’s long fuel range and in-flight refueling capabilities will make it capable of engaging targets the world over from any military air strip that’s long enough to support it. Likewise, strategic positioning of these bombers at installations around the globe will give the U.S. the ability to strike heavily defended targets anywhere on the planet within a matter of hours.

  • U.S. Air Force Testing Their New B-21 Raider Bomber

    5:01

The bomber, developed and manufactured by Northrop Grumman and assembled in Palmdale, California, has been given a new schedule by the US Air Force.

The plane was originally meant to fly as early as December 2021, according to USAF, but a new schedule means it will not have its first flight until 2022.

Aviation Week reports the new schedule still implies a factory rollout of the next generation bomber in the second half of 2021.

The publication said: “The Air Force’s new schedule calls for first flight of the B-21 in 2022. Given the traditional 6-9-month period of outdoor ground testing in advance of any first flight by a new aircraft, the updated schedule still implies a strong chance of a factory rollout during the second half of 2021.”

    5:13

Hello everyone. Welcome back again. Today I wanna show you Why the U.S. Air Force Really Needs the B-21 Raider Next-Generation Stealth Bomber.

The B-21 Raider, named after the Doolittle Raiders of World War II fame, could make its maiden flight sometime in mid-2022, according to reporting by Air Force Magazine. B-21 Raider airframe number one has already completed, with construction on the second airframe already underway.

B-21 Raider assembly initially hit logistical roadblocks related to component procurement due to the ongoing pandemic, though parts bottleneck has since been solved and production has continued according to schedule. It is estimated that the Air Force will buy around 150 airframes, but regardless of what final production numbers look like, Air Force officials estimate that the B-21 will enter service in 2026 or 2027.

B-21 to Fly in December 2021

The new B-21 Raider stealth bomber is making good progress and should fly in December 2021, USAF Vice Chief of Staff Gen. Stephen “Seve” Wilson said July 24.

Wilson, speaking at an AFA Mitchell Institute event in Washington, D.C., said the service continues to analyze its capacity for long-range strike. The Air Force still believes it is short, and is reviewing alternative force mixes.

Speaking on deterrence and the need to modernize the nuclear command, control, and communications network, Wilson said he was at Northrop Grumman’s facilities in Melbourne, Fla. in the last few weeks, “looking at the B-21,” and said the company is “moving out on that pretty fast.” Wilson said he has an application on his phone “counting down the days and don’t hold me to it, but it’s something like 863 days to first flight.”

  • Information Revealed !!! Air Force Wants 180 New B-21 Stealth Bombers

    8:16

During the discussion, Deptula made the important and frequently discussed point of how the massive Cold War-inspired B-2 program was cut from plans to build as many as 134 bombers to 21. He urged Congress and senior military planners not to make what he called a mistake. the same and the Air Force will use its newest bomber.

It is by no means impossible to envision a US Air Force fleet of 150 to 180 new B-21 bombers, if this vision of service force size is realized based on the speed and success of construction, new requirements. driven by threats and of course budget availability.

Senior Air Force leaders want to expand on previous plans for the B-21 that called for 80 to 100 bombers and a broader associated effort to stay on track to massively increase the number of bomber squadrons… and B-21s.

    4:12

Fresh images of the classified B-21 Raider bomber, released Jan. 31, show new details of the air intakes, landing gear, and mid-body shape.

  • Heres B-21 Raider Will Be Everything

    6:18

The B-21 Raider bomber takes its name from both the twenty-first century and the legendary 1942 raid by Gen. James “Jimmy” Doolittle’s force of B-25 Mitchell bombers against targets in and around Tokyo, Japan. In invoking the Doolittle Raid, the Air Force is drawing attention to attack’s audacious nature, the strategic and tactical surprise, and the epic distances General Doolittle and his “raiders” flew to accomplish their mission.

A tailless, batlike aircraft, the official rendering of the B-21 Raider released by the Air Force bears a superficial resemblance to the B-2 Spirit bomber. There are important distinctions, however. The B-21 moves its engines closer to the wing root, where they occupy the juncture between wing and fuselage, whereas the B-2’s twin pairs of General Electric F118-GE-100 engines are distinctly apart from the fuselage on the wing. The Raider’s engine air intakes are angled and not serrated like those on the B-2 Spirit. The Raider also has overwing exhausts to mask the infrared signature of the four engines, unlike the B-2. (Interestingly, this is exactly how the B-2’s exhausts were depicted in an April 1988 artist’s conception of that bomber.)

  • Congratulations: The US Air Force Really Build 180 B-21 Raider Stealth Bombers in 2021

    3:41

Fox News says USAF may buy 180 B-21s.

Fact: America has only 20 B-2 bombers. Just how many new B-21 Raiders will the Air Force end up with?

It is by no means impossible to envision a U.S. Air Force fleet of as many as 150-to-180 new B-21 bombers, should the service’s force-size vision come to fruition by virtue of the pace and success of construction, new requirements driven by threats and of course budget availability.

Air Force senior leaders are looking to expand upon earlier plans for the B-21 which called for 80-to-100 of the bombers and a broader related effort to stay on course to massively increase the number of bomber squadrons… and B-21s.

Gen. Arnold Bunch, Commander of Air Force Material Command, is among the service’s senior leaders managing the production and ultimate sustainment of the B-21. He believes the industrial base capacity, and success of the program thus far, are such that the Air Force “could go higher” than 100 B-21s, possibly much higher.

America's Deadly New B-21 vs. the B-2 Stealth Bomber

The Air Force’s rendering of the B-21 gives us some clues as to the configuration of the new aircraft, but most of its other parameters remain unknown.

The Northrop Grumman B-21 Raider is an American heavy bomber under development for the United States Air Force by Northrop Grumman.

The Northrop B-2 Spirit, also known as the Stealth Bomber, is an American heavy strategic bomber, featuring low observable stealth technology designed for penetrating dense anti-aircraft defenses. Designed during the Cold War, it is a flying wing design with a crew of two.

Here's What You Need To Know: Interestingly, the Air Force plans to share technology between the B-21 program and the parallel Next-Generation Air-Dominance program, which could eventually produce a replacement for the F-22 stealth fighter.

The U.S. Air Force’s new B-21 stealth bomber is scheduled to make its first public appearance in December 2021. But there’s a lot of work to do before the plane can debut.

The U.S. Air Force in 2015 awarded Northrop Grumman a $23-billion contract to develop the new bomber as a partial replacement for the service’s existing fleet of around 160 B-1, B-2 and B-52 bombers.

  • Next-Generation Bomber B-21 Raider VS The B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber

    10:07

With the US Air Force expressing the concept of art and designation for the Northrop Grumman B-21 Long Range Strike-Bomber (LRS-B) last week, there are many details that we can now gather about the latest B-21 Raider vs the Old B-2 Sprit

The B-21 design - which is similar to the B-2 design that is optimized with the original high attitude - was made to fight low-frequency radar that can detect and track stealth aircraft tactical fighter sizes. Unlike F-22 or F-35, which are designed to operate in environments where the enemy may be aware of their presence, the B-2 and B-21 are designed to avoid detection altogether. Basically, the B-21 (and B-2 to some extent) —with its large flying wing design — reduces the low-frequency radar cross-section to the point where it blends with the background noise inherent in the UHF / VHF band. system. It is similar in concept to how a submarine hides in the background noise of the sea. But - like all hidden planes - will not be seen. Stealth is not a see-through cloak, after all. Stealth technology only delays detection and tracking.
