  • What If Earth Was As Big As the Sun?

    6:01

Trees are falling, eco-systems are collapsing, and our infrastructure is crumbling. Crops are failing, and water is scarce. Earth is becoming a dead planet. On the plus side, there's never been a better time to buy property! But who can think about real estate when they can't leave their own home, let alone get out of bed, let alone breathe?

  • What If Jupiter Swallowed Earth?

    6:48

The Earth has been hurtling towards Jupiter for the past 242 days, and now it's about to make impact. Now we're so close to the giant planet that it's the only thing that fills our sky. Ground temperatures on Earth are rising uncontrollably, our atmosphere is igniting into flames, and the scientific community is scrambling to provide answers. What will happen when the two planets collide? Is there any chance that we could pass right through the gas planet? And how would this collision transform Jupiter forever?

  • What If Uranus Collided With Earth?

    6:01

It's been 30 days since Uranus first appeared in the sky. At first, it looked like our Moon had found itself a stellar partner. But then, we understood something much, much bigger was headed our way. What caused Uranus to become so unstable? How could this epic collision change the ice giant? And what's with this horrific stink? Ugh.

  • What if Jupiter And Saturn Collided?

    2:44

Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun. It is the largest planet of solar system with a diameter of 139,820 kilometers. Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun and the second largest planet with a diameter of 116,460 kilometers. Both planets are massive gas giants which means they don't have any solid surface.

As Jupiter and Saturn collides we will see the creation of a new system. Both plants will merge into each other forming a new and much bigger host planet. It may start fusion at the core of new planet becoming a low mass star.

  • What if Earth Had Rings Like Saturn?

    4:18

Jupiter.... Uranus.... Saturn... Earth? Sadly, Earth didn't make it onto the list of the Solar System's ringed planets. If it did, would it still be able to host life?

Having planetary rings visible in the sky would look way more spectacular than just one grey rock, right? Maybe. But if our planet got beautiful rings like these tomorrow, much of life on Earth might not survive the renovation process.

  • What if Jupiter Hits The Sun?

    2:02

Jupiter is the 5th planet from the sun and largest planet in our solar system. Jupiter's mass is 1.9 octillion kilograms and diameter of 140,000 kilometers. So what will happen if it hits the Sun?

As Jupiter gets close to the sun it's surface temperature will increase and it will start evaporating. On hitting the Sun's surface, it will quickly explode and release all of it's gases.

    3:18

What would it take for Jupiter to ignite and become our second sun? What if Jupiter gained just a little bit more mass during its formation period, and then ignited to become a star? How different would our Solar System have turned out? Would having another star in the middle of the Solar System mess with the orbits of the planets? How much heat would it send towards Earth? Would we see it from here?

Jupiter has more than twice the mass of all the planets in the Solar System combined. It doesn’t have a solid ground and is made up of the same elements as the Sun. And yet, it’s not a star.

Humans have explored the Moon, Mars, and of course, Earth. But what do we know about Jupiter?

For the most part, this gas giant is a mystery. So what would happen if you wanted to discover it for yourself and jumped right onto the planet? Or should we say into? Because Jupiter doesn't have a surface, just a seemingly endless stretch of atmosphere.

Would you fall straight through? What would you see on your way? And how would it make you feel?

Diameter of earth would increase from 8,000 miles to 16,000 miles. If the density of earth remains same, then its mass will increase 8-fold. Earth's gravity will naturally double. This will have major consequences.

Firstly, our weight will double. All the gyms will definitely see increased enrolments. Secondly, our bones will not be able to support our increased weight. Thirdly, our hearts will have to work double hard to make sure blood reaches all the parts of our body. Fourthly, birds, airplanes, choppers will all fall down to the ground. Fifthly, trees will not be able to stand upright. Most of them will fall down. Finally, if we fall down, it will hurt twice as much.

So if you ever notice our planet going off course and heading towards Jupiter, you might want to jump off along the way.

Hey, Mr. Banana! How are you doing? You know, you’ve been feeling blue recently. You don’t know why? Do you really think no one cares about you? I do. Ms. Strawberry does. Even Jupiter does! Sit down, I’ll tell you more about the Solar system’s majestic shield.

Astronomers say that Jupiter has a very important job in the Solar system. Its role is being a planetary shield, protecting Earth from comet impacts. Some astronomers believe that one reason Earth is habitable is that the gravity of Jupiter does help protect us from some comets. Well, thank you big guy.

  • If Earth and Saturn Crossed Paths, Which Planet Would Win?

    8:58

This planet's called The Jewel of the Solar System. Made up mostly of gases, it could float on water - should you find a reservoir 75,000 miles across and just as deep. But what makes the planet so recognizable is its beautiful rings - gray, tan, and beige. They consist of dust, rocks, and ice. Some bits are as tiny as grains of sand, others - as large as skyscrapers. It's Saturn, and right now, Earth is hurtling toward it at breakneck speed. So what would happen if Saturn hit Earth? What happens when planets collide?

Okay, let's imagine that all of a sudden, Earth changed the course it had been following for several billion years. But instead of rushing toward the Sun, it started to move away from the star. On second thoughts, it might be for the better - we've got more time to find a solution. Earth used to move around the Sun at a speed of 67,000 miles per hour. For some mysterious reason, when it left its orbit, the speed remained the same. It means we're going to cover 746 million miles separating our planet from Saturn within a year and three months... Here's another what-if video for space lovers!

  • What If the Planets Became Our Moon

    9:27

What if the Moon was replaced with any other planet from the Solar System? The Moon is the Earth's closest space neighbor and its only natural satellite. It likely formed when a huge, Mars-sized object crashed into our planet billions of years ago. This catastrophe turned Earth into a scorching ball of molten rock. It also pushed some material into its orbit, creating the Moon.

Now, this heavily cratered sphere moves around our planet. This causes high and low tides around the globe. A bit more than one-fourth the size of Earth, it's the fifth-largest natural satellite in the Solar System. Whatever the satellite looks like, you can always find it in the night sky and sometimes, even during the day. But imagine waking up at night and noticing that the Moon looks somewhat different than usual...

What If The Earth Split In Half?

Jupiter, the 5th planet from the sun, is the biggest planet in our solar system. A gas giant, 11 times the size of earth, and 318 times as massive. In comparison, our earth is tiny. The earth is around 7 thousand nine hundred miles across. Jupiter’s diameter is 87 thousand miles. But what if earth were as big as Jupiter? How would that affect the life forms and planet itself?

As per Roman Mythology, jupiter is the god of thunder, lightning and storms. It is the largest planet in our solar system and its mass is about 2.5 times the total combined weight of all the other planets in our solar system.

Now, if jupiter would have never existed, it is safe to say that even we would not have existed. This is because some scientists believe that during the initial stages of the formation of our solar system, jupiter's inward migration towards the sun and then subsequent outward migration away from the sun and towards saturn played a vital role in the formation of mercury, venus and earth. Also, since ages jupiter has been protecting earth from collisions with large asteroids and comets. Lastly, more than 70 moons of jupiter would have wandered along the solar system as orphans.

  • What if Jupiter Was 100 Times Bigger?

    2:08

Jupiter has the mass of 318 Earths and diameter ~11 times of our planet. For more than 4.5 billion years Jupiter is working as a vacuum cleaner, protecting us from asteroids and comets.

So, if Jupiter was 10 times bigger nuclear reaction would occur at it's core and it would become a glowing star. But since Jupiter has smaller mass it would look like a dim red star with a lifespan of few billion years.

  • A visit from Saturn: What if Saturn flew past the Earth

    5:15

    Trivia:

Saturn's rings were created using Voyager data and Cassini Data, and tables from the IAU, and nasa Interestingly enough, the voyager data and Cassini data did Not completely match each other, More interestingly the differences between the two data sets were not consistent along the ring, specifically the small Gaps along the rings are inconsistent between voyager and cassini. there are 3 conclusions i can reach from this,
1, the data is simply not perfectly accurate,
2, I interpreted the data incorrectly,
3, the Rings have actually changed a bit between voyager and cassini.

To create the rings, I interpolated between the two data sets, so the rings are a mix between voyager and cassini data, there are multiple textures used, for scattering, translucency, transparency, and color, I think I probably have some of the highest resolution textures in use anywhere on the web(over 19k pixels across),

in Part 1, (the 2d blue print video)the Planets are all correctly scaled to each other, except the SUN.. The Orbits are also all correctly scaled to each other (except the Moon's)However the planet size, and the planet orbits are not scaled to each other. The orbital speeds are also all correct relative to one another,

In part 2, The illumination between the moon and Saturn is reasonably accurate, In case you didn't understand, This is Saturn as Far away as the closest approach mars would get

in Part 3, the meteors ramp up and down in response to going through the very distended outer rings E, and G

the Meteors are Greenish, I've actually seen a Number of large daylight meteors, all of them had flashes of green and blue, The velocity and direction they are in the video is accurate to the motion of Saturn in this video

    Disclaimer:
This will.. never never ever happen, ever (probably).

Firstly, Black hole's gravity will cause complete chaos in our Solar System. Orbits of Planets as well as Comets will be significantly altered. Initially comets and meteorites might start hurtling towards us. Later even the planets might start colliding with each other.
Secondly, even if a gigantic planet like Jupiter comes in the path of the Black hole it will be devoured.
Thirdly, if the Black hole comes near Earth, initially its intense gravitational pull will cause devastating earthquakes and volcanoes. When the Black hole reaches our orbit there will be nothing left but an uninhabitable magma-laden rock.
Lastly, our Sun might offer some resistance to start with. A gravitational tug of war might ensue. But eventually even our beloved Sun will be ripped apart to pieces.

In this video, we would try to imagine that What if Jupiter doesn't exist or Solar system without Jupiter and also try to find the answer to this question Is it true that Jupiter protects Earth.

Eventually, the answer is yes as it is no. Some astronomers believe that one of the reasons for the Earth to be rescued is that the gravity of Jupiter helps us save some of the Comets and asteroids. Jupiter’s gravity is sling most of these fast-moving comets and asteroids out of the solar system before they can get close to Earth.

  • What If Just One Planet Disappeared from the Solar System

    8:10

Have you ever thought about what will happen to your solar system’s “perfect harmony” if it loses a planet? For example, the closest planet to the Sun is Mercury, right? Oh, it’s so small! So with Mercury gone, how’s Earth looking? Hmm, no changes in the solar system. It’s all about gravity.

Every object that has some mass attracts other objects because of its gravitational force. The larger the mass, the greater the force it has. Mercury is the smallest planet in the solar system, so it’s not too massive in space terms. But what about other planets?

    SUMMARY:
    - Mercury is the smallest planet in the solar system, so it’s not too massive in space terms.
    - At 50 million miles away, Mercury is no doubt far from Earth, so the gravitational force between the two of them isn’t that strong.
    - Venus is the hottest planet in yourc solar system. One day here is almost 117 Earth days.
    - There’s a massive asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. Asteroids, as you know, aren’t Earth’s best friends.
    - Jupiter usually holds them together with its strong gravity, but from time to time, they break free and start moving toward the Sun.
    - Mars also has gravity to boast and acts somewhat like a slingshot that speeds up asteroids in the direction of Earth.
    - Jupiter weighs 3 times more than all its neighboring planets combined!
    - With its massive gravitational force, Jupiter has protected Earth from asteroids and other space debris over the past 4½ billion years!
    - The sun’s gravitational pull is sending all that stuff toward the inner planets, and that includes Earth! There will also be some small changes in the orbits of other planets, but that would be some thousands of years later.
    - It’s time for Saturn. You can’t mistake it for any other planet thanks to those gorgeous rings! Scientists say they’ll disappear one day as Saturn’s immense gravity pulls them down in an icy rain.
    - Uranus is massive as well, the 3rd largest planet in the solar system.
    - Without Neptune’s gravitational pull keeping things stable, orbits are crossing, and celestial bodies are crashing into each other!
    - What about the Moon, though? Oh, my! What just happened to the Earth’s axis? It’s so tilted, even more than it was before! The weather down there has gone wild too – there are no more seasons at all, and new ice ages are on their way!
    - The day now lasts only 6 to 12 hours because there’s no more pull of the moon to slow down the Earth’s rotation. There are no more lunar or solar eclipses to watch.
    - It looks like out of all the planets in your sun’s complex system, only Jupiter’s disappearance would be a major problem for Earth. So I guess it’s true what they say: the solar system really is a delicate and harmonious balance!
