What If The Universe Stopped Expanding?

  • What If The Universe Stopped Expanding?

What if all the galaxies, stars, planets – everything – stopped moving away from everything else?

Would the Universe as it is just freeze?

Or would it collapse into a single point, just like it was before the Big Bang?

Would that be the end of everything?

  • What if Universe Stopped Expanding? | #aumsum #kids #science #education #children

Scientists believe that universe will stop expanding when the matter present inside it crosses a critical threshold. If the amount of matter present crosses the critical threshold then the universe will first slow down and then finally stop.
    Now What?
As per scientists as matter has increased so has gravity. So, gravity will start pulling everything inwards. Universe will now start contracting. It will start getting denser as well as hotter as it keeps on contracting further. Eventually it will collapse into singularity. Scientists also refer to this event as The Big Crunch i.e. reverse of The Big Bang.
As per one more research, Dark energy is primarily responsible for the expanding universe. As not much is known about Dark Energy it is difficult to predict its effect on a contracting universe.

  • What If the Universe Ended Tomorrow?

What if all the stars disappeared tomorrow, together with all the planets, solar systems and galaxies? What would be left of the Universe if it suddenly collapsed? What could make it restart its cosmic cycle all over again? And how exactly could the entire Universe break apart?

  • What If Our Universe Collided With Another One?

This pretzel-shaped collection of galaxies is our Universe. And it's about to collide with another universe. It might be fascinating to watch, but we should probably be worried about what's going to happen when they crash. How would it change the physics of our Universe? Is there any chance that we would survive? What would the collision look like from Earth? And has it ever happened before?

Throughout history, there has been much speculation about what the fate of the universe would be. Many theorized that the universe would eventually succumb to the pull of gravity, and reverse its expansion in what was being called ‘The Big Crunch.’ However, with the help of mathematical equations from Newton, Einstein, and Alexander Friedmann, we now have an answer.

It could be possible that one day, billions of years from now, the Earth will stand still. But chances are good that other events that will occur before that, such as the sun swallowing up the planet. With that being said, there isn’t a chance that the Earth will suddenly stop spinning anytime soon. But let’s just assume for a moment that the Earth did suddenly stop rotating, and take a look at what would happen to us, and the planet.

Our planet spins at its equator 1000 miles per hour as it orbits the sun. But, as you get closer to the poles, the rotation is slower. Without this rotation, life as we know it wouldn’t be possible. It is said that billions of years ago, our planet used to spin much faster than it does now. In the beginning of our young solar system, an unknown planet or large celestial body collided with the Earth, and in that collision, the Earths alignment and rotation were changed, and the moon was formed. Since then the Earth’s rotation has been slowing down. It is said that the moon used to also spin faster than it does now before it became tidally locked with the Earth.

Tidal locking is the name given to the situation when a moon or planetary object’s orbital period matches its rotational period. Coincidentally, it is the same fate that affects every single large moon orbiting a planet. A great example of this is our own Moon.
In our early Solar System, both the Earth and the Moon rotated independently of each other.

But the Earth’s gravity grabbed onto the tidal bulges and slowed down the rotation of the Moon. To compensate for the loss of momentum in the system, the Moon drifted away from the Earth to its current position, about 230,000 miles away.

This is Idea #20, Entropy and Information. The increase of entropy over time is responsible for the difference between past and future, and is thus in a very real sense the most important thing in the universe. We talk about how this works and what it has to do with the concept of information.

Although much of the Big Bang Theory is widely accepted to be true, it only gets us part of the way there. Observable truths such as the CMB and the flatness of our universe reveal that there is no way the universe has been expanding at a constant rate since its beginning. It turns out Cosmic Inflation solves the Big Bang's major problems quite well. So well in fact, that we might not even need a Big Bang at all!

  • Why antimatter matters | Professor Tara Shears | TEDxLiverpool

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. While most people know of antimatter through the science fiction of Star Trek, it's very real, important and mysterious. In her usual accessible style, Professor Tara Shears helps us better understand what antimatter is all about and it's fundamental role in creating the Universe.

While Manchester’s Brian Cox enjoys more fame, we believe Tara to be one of the best communicators of science we have ever seen. She is a particle physicist at Liverpool University and is Liverpool’s representative at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Switzerland. She started her career investigating particle physics at CERN in Switzerland, and was subsequently awarded a Royal Society research fellowship in 2000 to continue her research at the Collider Detector at Fermilab facility near Chicago. Today, Tara splits her time between Liverpool and Switzerland.

  • High Mass Stars: Crash Course Astronomy #31

Massive stars fuse heavier elements in their cores than lower mass stars. This leads to the creation of heavier elements up to iron. Iron robs critical energy from the core, causing it to collapse. The shock wave, together with a huge swarm of neutrinos, blast through the star’s outer layers, causing it to explode. The resulting supernova creates even more heavy elements, scattering them through space. Also, happily, we’re in no danger from a nearby supernova.

  • How to design moments that help you live forever | John Coyle | TEDxNaperville

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. If you had 30 days to live, how would you make the most of your short time left? It’s a trick question. How we experience time is not based on the ticking of the clock, but rather, by the moments that are so out of the ordinary that we perpetually remember them. These moments mark our lives, and through creating them every day, we can effectively live decades longer.

John has been chasing time since he was very young, trying to compress more activity (meters, laps, miles, transactions, data) into less time. Since age 8, John has competed in over 4000 bike races over a 30+ year racing career, including a top ten finish in the world cycling championships. John also spent a decade on the national speed skating team, competing in 9 world championships, winning 3 world medals, and winning a silver medal in short-track speed skating at the 1994 Winter Olympics. John now serves an expert commentator for NBC Olympics every four years.

Recently, John joined Maddock Douglas, an innovation consultancy, where he leads their innovation leadership development practice, guiding senior executives into the mindsets, practices, skills and toolsets required to be leaders of the future.

  • Cambodias Temple Kingdom | The Mark Of Empire | Angkor

A thousand years ago, the Angkor Empire conquered large swathes of Southeast Asia to become one of the region's greatest powers. Host Peter Lee journeys through Cambodia to learn how life in Angkor still revolves around the ebb and flow of the floodwaters that come with the yearly monsoons, and how the ancient Khmer overcame the environmental challenge and became masters of engineering, building canals and reservoirs to act as flood defences and irrigation channels to boost their rice harvests. The Khmer also built a network of roads to exert their authority far and wide, and created a social system of education, taxation, and even healthcare that revolved around temples. Peter visits the Angkor Empire's crowning glory — Angkor Wat — the world's largest religious monument to see how it was built, and how intricate carvings detailing life a thousand years ago are linked with a modern Cambodian tradition.

About the series: Host Peter Lee explores the history of four Southeast Asian empires that made their mark on the world. Travelling from Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia to Indonesia, Peter explores ancient ruins, epic legends and vibrant traditions to chart the rise and fall of four distinct empires, and how their legacy still shapes cultures and identities in the region today

  • Columbus, de Gama, and Zheng He! 15th Century Mariners. Crash Course: World History #21

In which John Green teaches you about the beginning of the so-called Age of Discovery. You've probably heard of Christopher Columbus, who discovered America in 1492, but what about Vasco da Gama? How about Zheng He? Columbus gets a bad rap from many modern historians, but it turns out he was pretty important as far as the history of the world goes. That said, he wasn't the only pioneer plying the seas in the 1400s. In Portugal, Vasco da Gama was busy integrating Europe into the Indian Ocean Trade by sailing around Africa. Chinese admiral Zheng He was also traveling far and wide in the largest wooden ships ever built. Columbus, whether portrayed as hero or villain, is usually credited as the great sailor of the 15th century, but he definitely wasn't the only contender. What better way to settle this question than with a knock-down, drag-out, no holds barred, old-fashioned battle royal? We were going to make it a cage match, but welding is EXPENSIVE.

Over the past 22 years, Souljourns has been fortunate to interview several individuals who are said to be awakened, self realized. These are terms that those who experience self awareness seldom if ever use in describing themselves.

This puts Norio Kushi of Ashville, North Carolina in a difficult place. He too eschews the many popular names used to describe a powerful personal transformation, but he’s willing to talk about his epiphanies, as he calls them because he wants to share his experience with others.

Welcome to part one of a special Souljourns two part series. Norio, a man with a lifelong fascination with wheels, has spent long periods of time riding bikes, driving taxis, busses and for more than a dozen years now driving long haul cross country 18 wheelers. Spending this much time behind the wheel or handlebars has provided Norio with time to marinate in his thoughts, or as you’ll hear, outside of his thoughts.

What Norio has experienced can happen to others. This is the reason why Norio wishes to share the last 15 years of his life with anyone who is interested.

Welcome to Souljourns. This two part series was recorded using Zoom (forgive us for occasional weak sound on these recordings) from Virginia and California on June 14, 2020.

Around 13.8 billion years ago, the universe was born during a period of inflation. Just Like a rapidly expanding balloon, within a tiny fraction of a second, it swelled from a size smaller than an electron to nearly its current size. And according to scientists and Holy book The Quran, this vast universe is expanding but, the Dark matter in the universe tends to weak the gravitational force and reverses the expansion of the universe.
What if it suddenly stopped the expansion?
Will there be another big bang? Or
    nothing would happen?
This is D BRIGHT ZONE and here is what would happen if the universe stopped expanding?

what would happen if the earth started to spin two times faster

  • What would happen If Universe Stopped Expanding | क्या होगा अगर ब्रह्मांड विस्तार करना बंद कर दे ?

    Hello friendz,

    This is Vineet

If the universe stopped expanding and then started contracting it would result in a Big Crush. Gravity would pull the universe back into a super dense ball of matter. The super dense ball of matter would then explode in another Big Bang. This concept of a alternating universe is also consistent with the concept of material realism that matter and energy are eternal and self existent. Lets find out in this video.

Abraham Hicks 2020 - Turn Your Vibration Into MAGICAL MANIFESTATIONS!
When we talk about law of attraction, we have to talk about it in terms of what it is, which means law of attraction means that, which is like unto itself is drawn. That, which is like unto itself is drawn. It's like the vibrational frequencies that you know about radio signals, you set your tuners to the frequencies of the transmitters. That way you hear it, that way it translates into the physical equivalent that you can realize you following us. And this is the same thing. You have to set your tuner, your vibrational tuner, which is indicated to you by your emotions. You have to set your tuner to the frequency of what's being broadcast from your vortex

Vedanta is one of the world’s most ancient religious philosophies and one of its broadest. Based on the Vedas, the sacred scriptures of India, Vedanta affirms the oneness of existence, the divinity of the soul, and the harmony of religions.

Vedanta Society of New York is affiliated with the Ramakrishna Order of India. In fact, this is the Order's first Center started by Swami Vivekananda, in 1894. It was a historic event, for the seed of the world-wide Ramakrishna Movement was sown here in New York over a century ago. Swami Sarvapriyananda is the present Resident Minister and Spiritual Leader of the Vedanta Society of New York.
