  • What is the harsh reality in Japan ?

    14:50

Today I interviewed foreigners in Japan about negative things of living in Japan. They mentioned that people in Tokyo are different from people in other cities. And I’m from Nagoya which is the city located central area in Japan, I’d say people in Tokyo are a bit cold ? So I agree with them. But in Osaka it’s more friendly I think. Even for Japanese, there’s a image that people in Osaka are friendly more or easy going. That makes me want to interview there !!!

  • Day in the Life of a Japanese Anime Figure Sculptor

    15:45

A Day in the Life of a Japanese Manga and Anime Figure Sculptor at Good Smile Company located in Akihabara Tokyo. This is a typical Japanese working day at the office at one of the top figure production companies in Japan. Creating all sorts of popular figures like Jujutsu Kaisen, and even Kimetsu no Yaiba! We follow Sho from morning until evening to see what a complete day would be like working at a Japanese figure making company. Sho works in Japan as a Genkeishi, also known as a Figure Sculptor. Sho sculpts his anime figure prototypes by hand using Nendo, in English putty or clay, in his case, a polyester putty. And for his main tools, uses a toothpick to add putty and a sharp q tip to smooth out the surface. Today, he is working on a Nedoroido ( Nendoroid ) style figure. We also meet and talk to some of the other office workers in the Japanese company and give a full office tour. This is life in Tokyo for a Japanese anime and manga figure sculptor.

    And the film Tsukiji Wonderland

    Script:
Our story begins 561 years ago when a samurai warrior built a castle on the shore of a fishing village called Edo. Its rich soil was ideal for growing rice and attracted farmers from far and wide.

In 1600, the great commander Tokugawa Ieyasu won the Battle of Sekigahara, a pivotal moment in history that secured Edo’s status as the most important place in Japan.

Unfortunately, the buildings of the expanding city were made of wood and paper, a dangerous combination to confront the warm winds of summer. Legend has it that on one particularly dry afternoon in 1657, a priest made the deadly mistake of burning an unlucky kimono. The fire flared up, ignited his temple, and engulfed 70% of the city. 100,000 people lost their lives.

Despite the disaster, by the middle of the 19th century Edo’s population was in the millions. That’s when the military shogunate system that had ruled for almost 700 years ended. A new government led by a young emperor finally made Edo the official capital of Japan, renamed it Tokyo, and made the castle his imperial palace. To celebrate his arrival, everyone toasted with rounds of sake on the house.

Around this time Japan opened up to foreign trade and influence, with Tokyo driving the industrial revolution that was modernizing the country. But rapid development had a cost: a strained natural environment. Forests were razed, pollutants choked the air, and Tokyo’s once pristine waterways grew increasingly toxic.

It was time for a more conscientious approach. The principle of Satoyama was born, promoting sustainable coexistence with nature, especially in the rice fields covering Japan’s sprawling foothills. Today, a century of conservation has resulted in parks covering 20% of the land in the Tokyo metropolitan area.

But while the danger from pollution has been largely overcome, one natural phenomenon poses an unavoidable threat: earthquakes. In 1923, an 8.0 magnitude quake rocked Tokyo, devastating the geologically unstable eastern wards of the city. As firestorms engulfed whole neighborhoods, some took advantage of the chaos to target political enemies and minority groups, like Koreans. When the smoke finally cleared, 140,000 people had perished.

Just twenty-two years later, in 1944, Tokyo was hit again. This time from above by allied air forces who waged a relentless nine month campaign that lasted until Japan’s surrender to end WWII following America’s detonation of two atomic weapons on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. On the worst night of the onslaught, 279 Boeing B-29 Superfortress heavy bombers dropped more than 1,600 tons of explosives on Eastern Tokyo...

It took generations for Tokyo to completely recover, but today - after more than seven decades at peace - Tokyo is thriving...

Zee news says in the newspaper that congress should make hawaii renewable like Japan.

    Why Dubai is Terribly Designed

Dubai is an incredible city in the United Arab Emirates. The City was developed extremely quickly, within just a few decades, which resulted in some key infrastructure being left out. Throughout the video, i explain why Dubai was designed so terribly, and the new, Dubai 2040 Plan that hopes to fix this whole mess.

The 2040 Plan is an incredible plan to fix most of the infrastructure problems Dubai is facing. The plan also hopes for Dubai's population to go from the current, 3.5 Million residents, to 6 Million residents by 2040. More citizens requires more infrastructure, so this plan hopes to set Dubai up for a good future as a thriving City.

Dubai is a city in the United Arab Emirates. Dubai is home to the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, and many other incredible megaprojects. But the city is lacking key infrastructure for it to function properly. The Dubai 2040 Plan will fix all this, and will drastically improve the City in just 20 years. Dubai is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Dubai 2040, Tourism.

  • 5 Must-Try Japanese Food Experiences in Tokyo

    14:39

Japanese Food is awesome, and the overall dining experience is just as fun. If you are looking for places to eat in Tokyo, here are five great Japanese food experiences that I love while living in Tokyo.

    1. Japanese Grill (Robata) - You sit around a few men who cook all of the meat and vegetables right in front of you on a grill. You just point to what you want and they grab it with their giant wooden spatulas.

    2. Ramen - My favorite Japanese food, and perhaps the most well recognized Japanese dish apart from sushi. There are hundreds of places to choose from in Tokyo, each with their own rendition of the classic. One spot where you can get a large variety of options is on Ramen Street in the lower level of Tokyo Station.

    3. Yakitori - Meat and veggies on sticks, cooked over a similar grill as the Robata, Yakitori is a favorite among Tokyo residents because it's fast and goes great with beer. The most famous area for Yakitori in Tokyo is down Memory Lane or Piss Alley just outside the Shinjuku Train Station.

    4. Chanko Nabe - The ultimate in gluttony for a normal civilian, but a necessary bulking strategy for up-and-coming sumo wresters in the Ryogoku neighborhood of Tokyo. There are many different versions of this massive stew, and they are all aggressive and delicious.

    5. Conveyor Belt Sushi - As I mention in the video, there are a million different ways sushi is served in Tokyo. One of the most fun methods is by way of the conveyor belt sushi.

*Bonus* - Convenient stores such as FamilyMart, Lawson's, and 7 Eleven are a major part of Japanese Food culture in Tokyo. People are busy and need a quick meal, so I wanted to take you around real quick and show you what's inside!

  • I Tried Unique Japanese Vending Machines In Tokyo

    26:54

So we traveled to East Asia to film a six-part series about beauty, style, and shopping and we’re kicking it off with a tour of some of Tokyo's most interesting vending machines! Japan has a TON of vending machines that you can purchase a variety of goods from, and we visited 4 different machines all over the city to investigate some of the strange ones we had heard about. We got some canned bread, hornet larva, spicy snacks, hot soup in a can, and mystery box items from a ~creepy~ vending machine corner!

  • TOKYO DESIGNER BRAND FLEA MARKET REVIEW

    4:09

Reacting to the Tokyo designer brand flea market video that went viral 10 months ago. The original video shows shoppers searching for bargains on preowned and/or vintage designer bags, wallets, watches and more. Brands seen in the video include: Louis Vuitton, Goyard, Rolex and so on.

Pawnshops reselling preowned luxury designer items is common in Japan and because the country has very strict laws concerning counterfeits, even at special events like this with hundreds of products, it is unlikely you will come across fakes. Such shops and flea market events allow shoppers to find plenty of cheap designer brand items. To give you a rough idea of the prices, at the time of making this reaction video, 1 POUND STERLING = 144 JAPANESE YEN = 1.32 USD.

Escape the bright and boisterous capital as you explore these two provincial towns in Tokyo on this fascinating tour. Become familiar with the lasting vestiges of what was the Edo-period Musashi Province and has changed to Akiruno City and Hinohara Village.

    Akiruno City
Reaching Akiruno City takes less than one hour from central Tokyo and, as soon as you arrive, you are greeted by overwhelmingly beautiful nature. Lush trees blanket the hills and a clear river cuts through the valley—it’s as if all of nature conspired to create an idyllic getaway. No doubt that autumn is Akiruno’s best season. The rich palette of vibrant colors paints the valley in a way sure to take your breath away.

    Hinohara Village
Not to be outdone by Akiruno, Hinohara is a gorgeous village with verdant nature and crystalline streams to boot. As the last remaining village of Tokyo, the passion of Hinohara’s people has been passed down from generation to generation. The people’s zeal for life and joy can be felt throughout the village and is especially noticeable at their many annual festivals.

  • Do The Japanese Find Miss Universe Japan’s Outfit Offensive? | Street Interview

    14:47

Japan is a country where people take traditional culture seriously. So when the Japanese contestant at the recent Miss Universe Pageant showed up on stage with her costume that’s designed to celebrate Japanese Harajuku fashion culture, things did not go down well for the Japanese public. Or at least that’s how it was reported in the Western media. Japanese people apparently found it insulting to Japanese culture, is what they said. So do ordinary Japanese people really find her outfit insulting or offensive? Our Asian Boss reporter hit the streets of Tokyo to find out.

The opinions expressed in this video are those of individual interviewees alone and do not reflect the views of ASIAN BOSS or the general Japanese population.

  • THE SPICIEST RAMEN in Tokyo at Karashibi Kikanbo - DEVIL LEVEL Japanese Food!

    T-shirts for sale here►

Karashibi Miso Ramen Kikanbo is known for serving the spiciest bowl of ramen you can eat in Tokyo, Japan, and not only is it insanely spicy, you’ll also find that it’s one of the most flavorful bowls of ramen you’ll ever eat as well.

They have two shops, the one of the corner serves only Tsukemen, a style of Japanese ramen where the noodles are dry and you dip them in the sauce. For the traditional bowl of ramen, you walk around the corner to the side and that’s the shop you’re looking for.

Like most ramen restaurants in Tokyo, you enter to a vending machine and choose your bowl of ramen, pay and get a ticket. There are two different spice levels to choose from, chili 1-5 and Sichuan pepper 1-5, 5 being the strongest which is called Devil Level!

I decided to go Devil Level all the way, both chili and Sichuan pepper. Price - 1500 JPY ($13.60) for my bowl. From the top bowl, you pay an extra 200 Yen due to adding so much more spices.

First of all, the Japanese food miso ramen was outstanding, the flavor of the broth was incredibly delicious. On my first bite, what hit me hard was the Sichuan pepper, that made my mouth start tingling and made it hard for me to control my mouth or even talk! The Devil Level chili was not too bad for me, but it was the huge amount of Sichuan chili that almost did me in.

You don’t have to order Devil Level, you can order whatever level you like, but the ramen at Tokyo’s Karashibi Miso Ramen Kikanbo is sure to blow you away with insane flavor!

  • Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore REVIEW | Underrated Gem | Fire Emblem X SMT

    8:46

This JRPG has been greatly overlooked, one of the most underrated games I played. First started development as a crossover between Atlus's Shin Megami Tensei series and Nintendo's Fire Emblem series. However, the final product left many people scratching their heads.

How did the promising crossover become this idol-cultured centric JRPG??!!
Tokyo Mirage Sessions was pretty much overlooked on the WII U back when it released in 2016, despite favorable reviews from critics.

I finally got the chance to playthrough this game on the switch with this Encore port, and I have to say this is a splendid experience. What parts of the game did I enjoy? Is Tokyo Mirage Sessions worth it? Watch this review to find out!

    8:27

When people often think about a city that exemplifies “walkable life” they often think of Tokyo. How did the Japanese government manage to make the city so livable? As someone who has a passion for urban planning, I thought I’d look into how they managed to build such a walkable metropolis.

What can the average North American town take away from a gleaming metropolis? A lot, in fact. Let's take a look, shall we?
