The park is known for its wildlife and its many geothermal features, especially Old Faithful geyser, one of its most popular. While it represents many types of biomes, the subalpine forest is the most abundant. It is part of the South Central Rockies forests ecoregion.

The lion is one of the big cats in the Felidae family and a member of genus Panthera. It has been listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List since 1996, as populations in African range countries declined by about 43% since the early 1990s. Lion populations are untenable outside designated protected areas. Although the cause of the decline is not fully understood, habitat loss and conflicts with humans are the greatest causes of concern. The West African lion population is listed as Critically Endangered since 2016.

Do you believe in miracles? If not, then this story is for you. Of course, most people could hardly believe what I will tell you today. And this, frankly speaking, is not surprising, since this case is not amenable to science, and no one, not even the most experienced specialists, can explain it. Most likely, if it were not for the witnesses who discovered our main character and who did not see what was happening with their own eyes, we would hardly have ever learned about this amazing story.

Watch The Wolfpack's Film 'Mirror Heart' Here:

Winner of Grand Jury Prize at Sundance, this critically acclaimed documentary follows the Angulo brothers who were locked away from society in an apartment on the Lower East Side of Manhattan and discovered about the outside world through the films that they watch. Nicknamed the Wolfpack, the brothers spend their childhood re-enacting their favorite films using elaborate homemade props and costumes. With no friends and living on welfare, they feed their curiosity, creativity, and imagination with film, which allows them to escape from their feelings of isolation and loneliness. Everything changes when one of the brothers escapes, and the power dynamics in the house are transformed. The Wolfpack must learn how to integrate into society without disbanding the brotherhood.

    Wolves Unmasked

Can wolves return to the UK?

Wolves Unmasked is a documentary film about the current state of rewilding in Britain and my journey of discovery unmasking the true nature of the wolf that lies behind the history, mythologies, stories, lies and villainization of wolves and the critical role they play in recovering the environment.

Recovery is rewilding and wolves are its heart and soul acting to re-balance activities that exploit and deplete the earths natural resources, removing what is not useful or profitable and unbalancing ecosystems resulting in increasing global climate shifts that make our planet less habitable.

Insights from Jane Goodall, Chris Packham, Doug Smith, Dave Mech, Chris Packham, Shaun Ellis, Scott Frazer, Anneka Svenska, Tsa Palmer, George Hyde, Marco Adda, Julia Huffman, Leo Linnartz, Paul Lister and Derek Gow answer the question, can wolves return to the UK? And are they vicious killers waiting to ravage you and your family that we have all been led to believe?

Rewilding Britain has been on the agenda for years - it's making steady progress but not nearly as fast as it should be. Wolves possess the ability to transform an environment, to revive it.... can the UK tolerate such a preditor? How important is rewilding Britain to people? Are there any positive examples of non-lethal wolf management? Has the wolf been villainization to the point of no return? These are all questions the film seeks to answer.

  • Wolf Pack

    20:14

A nature film that shows the absorbing, even admirable qualities of the wolf's character and behaviour, and its essential role in the natural scheme of life and death. Filmed by Bill Mason in caribou country, Wolf Pack closely observes the wolves through late winter into early spring. What emerges is a portrait of the wolf as a disciplined hunter, a respected leader, and a parent whose care for the young ensures the survival of the pack.

    Directed by Bill Mason - 1974 | 20 min

For their entire childhood, the Angulo brothers had only one true escape from their lives confined inside their family’s New York City apartment.

“As far back as I can remember anything -- like, as far back as I can remember loving my mom -- I remember movies,” Narayana Angulo, 22, told ABC News’ “20/20.” “They were like a door into another world.

Watching movies was the one privilege, the brothers said, that their father allowed.

“The movies taught us like, sort of how to speak to one another, how you interact with another person and have an opinion,” Mukunda Angulo, 20, told “20/20.”

A Wolf Called Storm - Nature Documentary

Storm is an extraordinary wolf - the head of a pack in Canada's frozen north that hunts the giant buffalo herds. This pack came to fame in Frozen Planet and now cameraman Jeff Turner spends a year with Storm and his wolf family, learning how they survive in this harsh wilderness and whether Storm can pass his hunting skills on to the new generation of wolf pups.

Following a sneak preview of THE WOLFPACK, director Crystal Moselle joined the Angulo family on stage for a Q&A here at The Film Society of Lincoln Center.

About the film: First-time feature filmmaker Crystal Moselle trains her camera on an utterly unique subject in this documentary portrait of the Angulos, a family whose children have been forbidden from leaving their Lower East Side apartment yet whose love for cinema signals a desire to engage with the outside world.

  • Wolves saved Yellowstone National Park - The Northern Range

    8:32

Few places are as special and unique as Yellowstone National Park – the world’s first national park. A wilderness jewel of vast forests and wide-open valleys, home to large bison herds, wolf packs, and grizzly bears.

The Northern Range is the hub of wildlife in Yellowstone National Park. Occupying just 10 percent of the park, it is winter range for the biggest elk herd in Yellowstone and is arguably the most carnivore-rich area in North America.
Early management of predators caused dynamic changes to the ecosystem. The reappearance of carnivores on the landscape has had significant and sometimes unexpected impacts on the resident grazers and their habitat.

Wolves had been absent from Yellowstone National Park for more than 70 years when they were reintroduced in the 1990s – and their return had some surprising benefits.

When we let nature work and we don't interfere with it, it can do wonders. Letting the wolves into Yellowstone National Park and leaving them to their our own fate shows us what a complex system nature is and how dozens of wild beasts can transform the entire ecosystem of such a vast area.

  • THE WOLFPACK - Documentary of Six Brothers with Crystal Moselle

    16:57

THE WOLFPACK is a documentary examining six brothers in Manhattan that have created an isolated world with a peculiar charm to it. Focusing on their blending of cinema, fashion and remarkably distanced perception of the outside world (filtered through the movies), we look at a clip from the movie and get the story behind the film and family from director Crystal Moselle. Shot direct from the 2015 Sundance Film Fest premiere of the movie, it is a fascinating look at the movie on the world’s only documentary talk show, BYOD.

    GUEST BIO & FILM INFO:
Crystal Moselle has been merging the rawness of street culture with high fashion since moving to NYC years ago. Her long and short form films have been featured at the Tribeca Film Festival and in The New York Times.
Six bright teenage brothers have spent their entire lives locked away from society in a Manhattan housing project. All they know of the outside is gleaned from the movies they watch obsessively (and recreate meticulously). Yet as adolescence looms, they dream of escape, ever more urgently, into the beckoning world.

  • How My Imagination Set Me Free | Mukunda Angulo | TEDxTeen

    16:28

When your only access to the outside world is through watching movies - who would you become? Imagination can set you free.

    TEDxTeen opening music by BlackDoe

Mukunda Angulo is an artist and filmmaker from New York City. He is one of the six brothers featured in the critically acclaimed, Sundance Grand Jury prize-winning documentary, The Wolfpack. The film focuses on Mukunda and his brothers, raised in a New York public housing apartment isolated from society by their paranoid, overbearing father. Movies became their only view of the outside world and led them to create elaborate homemade costumes to emulate the films that they watched obsessively. At 15, Mukunda decided to leave the apartment for the first time on his own, setting off a chain of events to liberate him and his brothers from his father's lock down.
